This was a huge flag art piece that seemed to be made of aluminum

For a first visit, this was a good one. The first thing I noticed when walking in was how clean, organized, and beautifully decorated this business was. This could even be an example store for other Sourdough & Co locations. We originally ordered food to go. However, we decided to eat there since it was so pleasant. When we arrived, we were early, so our order was not prepared yet. We told the employees to take their time, yet they were very eager to get our order to us. While we waited, I decided to use the bathroom, and that too was decorated beautifully and was very clean. My husband ordered the 6" smoked brisket sandwich & I ordered the Cobb salad with no blue cheese. We both got a side of fresh sourdough. My husband said the smoked brisket sandwich was tender, and the flavor was delicious. My salad was generous in size, fresh, and flavorful. The presentation, flavor, and quantity of both of our selections were better than our previous experiences at fancier eateries. The warm and fresh sourdough explains why they could sell full loaves daily. We will definitely plan to stop at this location again when we are in the area.

Checked out the new Sourdough & Co. in Sonoma for lunch. Very clean and nice sandwich shop, friendly staff. I ordered a 4" turkey on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, Dijon, Monterey jack and the store's mayo-based signature sauce. It was toasted. I had a combo with a bag of chips and a fountain drink. $13.94 before tax and tip. The sourdough bread and sandwich overall was delicious. If you're not a sourdough person, you can get wheat, marble rye, lettuce wrap and gluten free wraps. You can also buy loaves of sourdough. While not the "cheapest" sandwich around, the quality of the ingredients were very good. I was impressed and I'll be going back very soon. Probably my favorite sandwich in Sonoma.

I think this might be my first five star review of a fast, casual sandwich shop, but they really hit the nail on the head with our most recent visit. Located in a strip mall sits Sourdough serving up some craftily created staples. Ordered the Cobb salad and a turkey sandwich which were carefully constructed on their delicious, soft, and crunchy sourdough bread. Kind of like a Subway, but with real sandwich artists making in house sourdough bread with quality ingredients. Service was kind and responsive and the restaurant was clean and free of any messes from prior customers. Also have a few outdoor seats near a garden area for a more private dining experience.

Delicious Cobb salad and Heavenly sourdough!

I can't speak for anything else on the menu because this is the first time I was here, but if you want an awesome salad and wonderful sourdough bread for a very reasonable price, high tail it over here!

I arrived around noon on a Tuesday. There was ample seating and my sandwich only took 5 minutes to arrive at my table. I ordered the caprese sandwich ($14, 6") and asked for it hot. It was delicious - the bread was soft and chewy and the flavors were well balanced. Parking in the lot is relatively easy, the restaurant and restroom are clean, and overall my experience eating here was great!

There's a new sandwich in town! Welcome to Sonoma, Sourdough & Co. Part of a mini-chain of 66 sandwich shops, Sourdough & Co. offers a wide selection of hearty sandwiches and salads not far from the square in downtown Sonoma. From old standbys like ham and tuna salad sandwiches to more adventurous selections like garlic pesto turkey and Cholula chicken creations, almost every hungry patron will find something to love. Just like other sandwich shops, you basically pick a protein (there are many), a substrate (sourdough, wheat, rye, gluten-free or lettuce wrap) and toppings, and your sandwich is created on the spot. Served hot, the French dip ($13.49 for a 6-inch) is piled high with thinly sliced roast beef, slathered with house spread and topped with melted Swiss cheese. It's a great choice for a grey winter Sonoma day. Also served hot, the Cholula chicken ($13.49) is a showstopper. With tons of chicken marinated in green chili Cholula and jalapeño ranch dressing, house spread, lettuce, tomato, even more jalapeños and pepper jack cheese, it's a piquant mouthful. The staff is super-friendly and welcome you as soon as you walk in the door. Pro tip: It gets busy around lunchtime. If time is precious, order online and pick up your order. Given Sonoma's blatantly anti-business stance that makes prospective businesses jump through glass-encrusted, flaming hoops just to open, let's hope Sourdough & Co. keeps slinging great sandwiches for a long time.

The Turkey and pastrami was delicious and the fresh baked bread took it to the next level. Highly recommend.

The sandwiches are overpriced, small amount of meat, too much lettuce. The bread was good but does not compare to Michael's Sourdough

We saw the sign in front of the building which said they had award winning sandwiches, so we thought we'd give it a try. We entered and found our way to the deli counter where we were greeted by a sandwich maker. Once we made our choice--ham and turkey with provolone on crusty white sourdough bread with mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomato, we waited for the assembly. While waiting we pondered grabbing a pasta salad from the tasty looking assortment on the shelf to accompany our sandwich but in the end opted for a container of local California strawberries, and chips (plain for the hubs and oil and vinegar for yours truly). While at the register the friendly cashier suggested a Mexican marzipan style cookie, which we readily agreed to. Lunch was delicious later as we sat on a park bench by a peaceful pond in the middle of Jack London state park. My husband particularly enjoyed the bread. We'd recommend the market to anyone in need of a delicious sandwich and we'll be back next time we're in Sonoma. They also had a plenteous supply of groceries.

This is an old fashion deli gussied up for Sonoma. It gets busy but everyone working here is attentive and even nice. There's a ton of interesting cheeses (duh) and pasties (yum) but I come here for the coffee and Butcherman sandwiches. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches which are large enough to split if you aren't a big eater. Cubano: not traditional but delicious. Ham AND pork sausage. Jack cheese and avocado. Mortadella: with pesto and burrata. Another delicious break with tradition. Even the Arnold palmer (ice tea and lemonade) is good. There are seats in the back and a few outside but I like the counter in the front window. Enjoy your food and watch the world walk by.

Years ago, this was our go-to stop in Sonoma for wine and cheese tastings, incredible sandwiches, BBQ, and browsing a lively marketplace. It always felt busy and full of energy. This visit was a completely different experience. The store felt sparse, the cheese selection was much smaller than we remembered, there were no cheese samples, and we couldn't find their own branded cheeses that we used to love. We stopped in to grab lunch on our way home. The sandwich menu is now limited, and you can no longer build your own. We ordered two sandwiches, and while they were decent, they didn't justify the high price. There is still both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice, but the overall experience felt like a shadow of what made this place so special. I really miss the vibrant marketplace where people gathered to sample cheeses, pick up lunch, and enjoy everything Sonoma had to offer. Sadly, we won't be returning. With so many outstanding places to eat around Sonoma, this no longer stands out and, in our opinion, has gone downhill.
