Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower
Mia B.

So pleased with my experience at The Red Grape! Their outdoor seating area was very peaceful and perfect for warm nights. I was blown away by their sweet and spicy cauliflower that was bursting with flavor and top tier texture. They had so many options for pizza, including a ton of veggie pizzas, and the mushroom and four on four pizzas were thin, crispy, and packed with tasty goodness.

We stopped in for our final dinner of our anniversary trip to Sonoma. We needed something low key but still slightly elevated. We got just what we needed at The Red Grape. We started with the Gorgonzola pecan salad, and my hubs got the local California lager on tap and I got the local Three Fat Guys red blend 2022. Delicious. We then shared a tasty pizza--half Hawaiian and half sausage/mushroom. Crut was crispy and somewhat thin but not cracker thin. Still had a delicious doughiness. We were tempted to get dessert, they had a good selection, but we opted not to for the sake of finding the local creamery in the plaza. Plus we were full! Will return in future.

Popped in for some pizza and we ordered the truffle onion rings and Sonoma pizza! The pizza was great - thin crust with a crunch. Service staff were kind with coming by frequently to check on us. The restaurant is a clean one with booth and table style seating with a selection of wines and drinks to choose from. It's in a walkable area so it's quite romantic and lovely to dine and walk around afterward.

Gotta say this was a sleeper. Great way to exit Sonoma. Went with a couple pizza choices and I gotta say they were both winners. The Margherita pizza was fire and the Peach & Prosciutto pizzas were fire. The setting is perfect from the outside patio to the indoor seating this is a prime location. Don't miss out on good ambiance and good food.

Seriously meh pizza

After staying at the Fairmont for a combo baby moon and 10 year anniversary, we decided to go here for dinner. We were really excited about the inclusion of some notable Connecticut pizza connections here and hoped it meant the food would be good. We had a long wait to order despite being only one of two tables filled in the restaurant. Our waitress was very uncertain about the menu and didn't have answers for our clarifying questions on some items. We decided to just go simple and order the margarita pizza to see how they do on an unfussy classic. When the pizza arrived, I thought for sure someone was pulling a prank on us. This thing was literally like a matzo cracker pizza. In fact I've had better pizzas on literal crackers before. Not only was the "crust" dry and brittle, but it was also flavorless. The toppings were very lackluster and even just the presentation of this dish was underwhelming. I definitely thought with a location like this basically in the Sonoma town square, we were almost guaranteed to have a good meal, but this definitely proved otherwise. Since we were staying at the hotel we didn't have our chickens to feed this to, or else we would have. Very disappointing experience with an even worse meal.

We were looking to grab us some late breakfast early lunch meal and we asked the local who highly recommended this wonderful restaurant! Everything was outstanding about the experience... The food... The service... great menu And all the staff members smiled! Highly recommend!!

Came here for a quick bite after a boozy wine tasting. We had actually already had lunch, but our group of 5 needed a snack, and a shared pizza was the move. We ended up ordering the Margherita and Glen Ellen pizzas, and both were a hit! Loved the thin crust and flavorful toppings. Service was friendly and pizzas came up pretty quickly. We were here at an off time being post-lunch and pre-dinner, so getting a table was super easy. Would definitely come back here with its convenient Sonoma Square location and loads of parking nearby.

One of the best things crust pizzas I have had recently!! The restaurant is large with ample seating. It is decorated modern and sparkling clean. The staff is very attentive and efficient. It literally took 5-7 min for our order to be served. We also ordered their garlic bread which is to die for!! We had one of their white and one red pizza and they were both delicious with complimentary ingredients. Wonderful experience, didn't feel heavy with the thin crust pizza, only very satisfied when leaving.

Chicken Pot Pie and Caesar Salad

My wife and I came to explore Sonoma today for something different. After walking around the downtown area, we wanted to explore some local places to have lunch. We searched Yelp and although there were several highly popular restaurants, we chose The Red Grape after doing a deep dive into there reviews and pictures. We were seated fast and ordered. Sandy was our waitress today. I had the Chicken Pot Pie and my wife had the Gorgonzola Salad with candied pecans. This restaurant is very large and has outdoor seating. It's nice and clean and fairly quiet. The food portions are large and tasty. I highly recommend The Red Grape for a great experience overall.

4 IPAs? 2 Lagers and 1 Porter. Not a very thoughtful beer selection.
Tom P.

Wanted a nice draft beer but not a fan of IPA beer. Lager is too light so that leaves Porter? Why would you have so many IPA varieties at the exclusion of all other types of beer?

Pozole

Stopped by for lunch after a PushPak tour and party of 6 were seated immediately. We ordered the truffle fries (light truffle flavor), sausage mushroom pizza, chicken bbq pizza, pozole and crispy cauliflower. The pizzas were just alright, nothing special. My sister said Mary's pizza shack was 100x better. Pizza sauce and toppings were very lacking in flavor. The pozole was on the bland side. The crispy cauliflower had an orange chicken like flavor profile. Service was ok. Might try again, might not.

Pepperoni and Olive pizza with extra sauce.

We visited The Red Grape during a trip to the Sonoma area. We were hungry and feeling like pizza and based on the reviews decided to give it a try. We were promptly greeted and sat at a boot for 4 people in the back. The vibe was good and it was a comfortable temperature and atmosphere. With regard to the food, we thought that it tasted a little lacking. I ordered a pepperoni and olive pizza with extra sauce (glad I asked for extra). Wife ordered truffle fries. She described the fries as just okay. The pizza tasted fine but it lacked the pizzazz that would put it over the top. I would say having thicker crust options would be a great idea for this menu. Our friends ordered the street corn pizza and spinach and artichoke dip. They mentioned the pizza was good but not great and the spinach and artichoke drip was decent. Overall, if you're looking for an average spot that'll do the trick. This is a good option as it has a lot to select from.

Kids cheese pizza w/fruit. Thin crust, grapes thoughtfully cut in half for worry-free eating for toddlers
Vanessa O.

Perfect spot for a kids lunch. Good friendly service. Food is your typical diner quality, with pizza, salad, and burgers. Kids menu is thoughtful, with entrees at ~$10 + $2 for a cup of fruit. Grapes are thoughtfully cut in half so there's no risk of choking for the smaller kids. Adults menu had a variety of options, and it was easy to simply walk in for a late Sunday lunch, though you can make a reservation online if you prefer sitting in their well-landscaped back patio. I ordered the salmon ceviche ($19), which included good housemade tortilla chips. Salmon wasn't the best quality as it was a bit sinewy. Dish overall could've used a touch more salt/seasoning, but it's a nice cool snack for a warm Sonoma day. Not a place to go out of your way for, but great for a quick sit-down bite!

We loved everything from the food, chic ambiance to the charm of the place that makes it seem like a special place. The restaurant hearing upon my little one celebrated her fourth birthday last week, whipped up a hand written birthday card welcoming her to the restaurant (pic for reference). The staff was so friendly and patient with my chatty elder one too. Overall, it was a great experience and opened up our Sonoma trip well. Gave us a great impression on the hotel too. Oh, the food. I almost forgot. We had a little bit of everything. But two things I wanted to point out - contrary to what is out there, they DO have a kids' menu and do give you one as a part of their coloring book. Second, the steak was great. Being an aspiring vegetarian, I don't say this too often, but the steak was darn good. Our server made him feel like an adult and waited on him as well. He was very proud of himself - thank you for that touch!

However the combination of the thousand Island, sauerkraut, the pastrami and buttered bread just made it so delicious. It was decently meat packed too. The sandwich came with fries which I inhaled the ketchup that they brought me extra. It also came with two types of coleslaw both were delish. They were not overwhelming with dressing. The yellow one was interesting bc I thought it was turmeric but it was slightly sweet. Delish as well. Also ordered their Italian prosecco. By the time we arrived, most of the local businesses had already closed for the evening, but thankfully Mary's Pizza Shack was still open and welcoming. The moment we walked in, the place had that classic, cozy, small‑town feel -- the kind of spot where families gather after a game, locals know each other by name, and visitors like us instantly feel comfortable. It's charming without trying too hard, and it has that nostalgic, homey vibe that makes you want to sit down, relax, and stay awhile. Customer service was genuinely friendly, which we appreciated after a long day of exploring. Even though it was later in the evening, the staff didn't rush us or make us feel like we were an inconvenience. Instead, they were warm, attentive, and happy to have us there. If you're in Sonoma and looking for a laid‑back place to grab a bite -- whether you're with family, a partner, or just want a chill night out -- Mary's Pizza Shack is a solid choice. We were advised to get the chicken parm which came with a crispy piece of chicken, a small Caesar salad and a side of fettuccine Alfredo. Kind of a strange combination for Italian food, but filling and definitely shareable. Good vibes and inexpensive, smells like California pizza when you walk in - definitely giving Italian American pizza nostalgia. We also got the soup salad combo with the bean sausage soup, which was mediocre (it came out piping hot and quickly cooled down so it was probably microwaved.) After 8pm they have a happy hour from 8-close, with $2 off wine and cocktails. If you're looking for cheap drinks and eats, this is a good spot. We got the breadsticks half off (likely made with pizza dough) and $4 seemed about right for the price. We didn't end up ordering pizza. For two people we cleaned out at $60 + tip, overall not a bad deal. Prosecco was only $9 a glass and Gloria Ferrer brut was $12.

When you enter you'll notice a more homey decor to the place. Warm colors all around and even warmer service once you sit down. Every single experience Ive had here is been nothing less of 110%. Theres always this good balance professionalism with lightheartedness that pair so well for the atmosphere. Because at its core this restaurant is high scale. It definitely has that higher scale vibe but if never comes off as pretentious though. This particular I took my wifey here for our 10th year anniversary together. And we were greeting by a nice little card from the "Fig Family." We ended up trying the Seared Halloumi and I was shocked at how much I liked it. Very light flavors but still enough variety with the crispy spigarello and pine nuts to keep things fun. The lemon never feels too overwhelming. For mains my wife got the Mushroom RisottoI think? Or maybe it was Butternut Squash Risotto? I got the Fig Burger and both were amazing. The only reason I didn't get her Risotto was simply because I already had it at lunch time, but that still didn't stop me from taking a bite. Each rice like grain had a perfect chew and flavor to each bite. Even being the picky person that I am with veggies, I appreciated the veggies addition to the dish. I still think though that the sure winner was my Fig Burger. This burger is everything we wish our local breweries burger was. A harmonic balance between salty and sweet. Im down to get a little crazy with burgers but if it's too sweet, it kinda loses the appeal for me. It takes away too much from the burgers roots. So yea. Go here. Make reservations too. I know for myself I made mine about a month in advance so it's hard to say how hard it is to get a table here. But hopefully it's not too bad. Parking by the way is just street parking. Despite that Ive always been able to get a park on W Spain St right before I pull up to the restaurant. OH! And thanks again Girl and the Fig family! You made the end to our anniversary quite magical!
