Artichoke (forgot to take a photo before digging in immediately)
    Paulina D.

Wow! A 4-min walk from the Fairmont. A fantastic pizza place. Got the puttanesca pizza, wood oven roasted artichoke, and the chocolate chip walnut cookie. The pizza dough was soft without being too doughy. The capers and olives kept the flavors bright. The anchovies and cheese were so savory. The artichoke was so tender and rich. The cookie was very enjoyable. Decor is old school with pictures of celebs on the walls, music playing and tvs featuring black and white classic movies. It's a popular spot as the tables were consistently turned over. Counter service was efficient and friendly and fast! Highly recommend! Pictures reveal that we couldn't wait to dig in!

Margarita pizza, Misto salad, wine and olives! Perfecto!

Great pizza perfect date night! Special through winter is a bottle of Highway 12 can sauv, a good sized margarita pizza and a yummy misto salad. For $45 plus tax and tip. Cannot be beat in Sonoma!

    WTF pizza
    Laura A.

Delicious wood fired pizza. Small restaurant and small patio area for seating. Pizza came out fast and lavender lemonade was delicious! We had the WTF pizza which comes loaded with sausage, brisket, sautéed onions and lotsa meat and cheese. It was too big for the two of us to finish. Would definitely come back to try other pizzas and the desserts looked bomb!

    The burger I received.

Customer service of the young lady Andrea was great but as my first time going here to try their famous WTF burger was really disappointed. We ordered two and they definitely did not look like the pictures on their social media. It barely had any sauce, was small and missing the baked ball that they show in the pic.

I've really wanted to like this place over the years and left multiple reviews. Here's what it boils down to. They make a good, overpriced small/medium size pizza. Only one size and it isn't very big. I've watched their prices steadily go through the roof, up like 40% over a couple of years, making their pizza ridiculously unaffordable. $36 before tax for a WTF pizza is truly WTF! In the picture is shows it was $25 just a couple of years ago. Where does it stop? One guy can easily eat it. I have experienced them not answering their phone or closing early before stated business hours, ignored at their counter. Sonoma needs a good pizza place, but this ain't it unless you have lots of money, and feel lucky. I give this place two huge thumbs down and won't go there anymore. Strong NO.

Food is always amazing but this time I want to give a big shout out to the staff who is always nice and attentive. We are locals and tonight we got there 30 minutes before closing and the staff was welcoming and always their best.

14 hour brisket, melt in your mouth delicious!

WOW! Il Fuoco! Was driving by this afternoon and they had a sign at the sidewalk that said barbecue today and the smell blowing out of the back parking lot was too much to resist! Went in for a sandwich, asked what they recommended since I had never been there. He said definitely the 14 hour brisket. Brisket for me is hit or miss with me, so I often don't order it. But I took his advice. Let me just tell you, that is some of the most tender, flavorful and delicious brisket I've had in years. Beautiful smoke ring, melt in your mouth fat and not dried out! I am looking forward to going back and trying a pizza as they have an amazing woodfired pizza! Give it a try!

I ordered through door dash, but our food arrived fast and perfectly hot. The pizzas were amazing, the sides were great and the drink options were good. Perfect for a post wine tasting day evening in!

    Arancini Nero (special)

What a wonderful night to enjoy wood fire pizza. Ordering is simple, just decide what food and beverage you want, take a number and they make your food fresh. It wasn't chilly out once the sun began to set so we sat outside to catch the last bit of sunshine. The Arancini was a special, filled with black ink risotto and seafood. The sauce that was paired with it didn't seem to compliment the dish but the risotto was creamy and the outside was crispy. The mushroom pizza was very tasty, with fresh greens on top to give a lovely aroma and freshness. Definitely worth the stop if you want to try something outside of the downtown square in Sonoma.

    Fantastic!!!

It's still awesome. Not a bad dish on the menu, great ambiance, friendly service, what else could you ask for?

This restaurant serves incredible food! The chatarelle pizzas and apple pies were both divine. My sister was particularly fond of the barbecue ribs.

    Smoked Brisket

Not sure if this is a "hidden" gem or an IYKYK type situation, but we were lucky enough to meet Rob and have him cater our 3rd Anniversary celebration! The brisket and chicken...TO DIE FOR! Everyone over-ate and raved at the quality of the brisket & chicken. We hold a number of parties every year and know from experience how important the food is to an event's success. The service - from ordering, to delivery, to execution - was flawless! Rob was communicative and professional every step of the way. Being able to rely on this aspect is amazing and we will definitely use Rob and his team again! Simply cannot recommend this catering highly enough.

Puttanesca pizza with too much cheese.

Thank God this place is closing. Mediocre food at best, overpriced, and a lunatic for an owner. Good riddance, and strike two in Sonoma.

It was very refreshing and well balanced. We got the mozzarella sticks and the bread with ricotta whip. Unfortunately they ran out of their focaccia bread, so they gave us a sesame bread, which was alright. The mozzarella sticks were very good with a great crisp, and I liked the cheese they used. We got 3 pizzas to share, a pepperoni, arrabiatta, and the potato pie. The potato pie was my favorite. It had blue and golden potatoes and the onion and bacon rounded out the flavor well. The pepperoni was solid and the arrabiatta was the groups overall favorite. We asked for a ranch for each person, not realizing they came in larger portions in bowls, so we were very happy as a ranch loving table, but something to keep in mind. One ranch portion can definitely be shared between two people. An overall nice spot to come for a casual dinner with friends and/or family.

Small parking lot available around back! Large outdoor patio, separate bar area, and expansive dining room provide you with many an option for small to large groups! The interior has local hangout/dive bar written all over it, but in a casual, welcoming vibe. We had bar service since the dining room wasn't open quite yet when we arrived! The bartender was confident, efficient, and welcoming, even with a large crowd of people! The food far exceeded our expectations! The mozzarella sticks are truly a STAR...perfectly crunchy with a tender, "ideal for the cheese pull" center! We had the Vodka Sauce pizza, which was truly delicious...taking the normal red sauce pizza up a notch with the twist! You cannot skip the side of ranch...which rivals even the best Midwest recipe I could remember! If you want solid pizza and bar food after a long day of exploring the nearby vineyards, Buck's Place is where it's at!

So crispy and garlicky! And, the kitchen (plus our amazing server Gustavo!!) was kind enough to make a custom pesto cavatelli for me because I didn't want the cavatelli with morel mushrooms! I will be thinking about the texture of this pasta + the pistachio pesto for a long time. They kept the corn pudding of the original dish at the bottom and it was such a good combination of flavors. I got chicken added on top. I got an espresso martini with gin; pretty good, just wished there was a bit more espresso flavor. Probably would order one of their house cocktails instead next time. Lastly we had the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream and a pine nut/pistachio brittle. Unlike any other cobbler I've ever had. Perfection of different textures. Also, we had the duck fat fries on another day; they were delightfully crispy and lightly seasoned with garlic. The ranch it came with was so yummy and definitely dill-forward. I'd definitely come back! Thank you for your hospitality.

They def knew their menu. Immediately brought water with cucumber and lemon, very refreshing. I ordered the bread with butter to start, it was excellent. That butter just melts on every bite, taking the bread to the next level. Staff recommended the Rachel pastrami. It did not disappoint. It was very simple. However the combination of the thousand Island, sauerkraut, the pastrami and buttered bread just made it so delicious. It was decently meat packed too. The sandwich came with fries which I inhaled the ketchup that they brought me extra. It also came with two types of coleslaw both were delish. They were not overwhelming with dressing. The yellow one was interesting bc I thought it was turmeric but it was slightly sweet. Delish as well. Also ordered their Italian prosecco. I'm into red wine but for some reason perhaps the environment I felt the prosecco would work and it did! It was bubbly refreshing, tasty, and not dry. Their restroom was big and clean. Della Fattoria Bread - Our waiter hyped it up as "the best bread in California." Maybe my expectations were a little too high because...it was just okay to me. Good, but not the showstopper I was expecting. Brussels Sprouts - These were really good! Perfectly roasted with lots of flavor. Spicy Sweet Chili Wings - THE STAR OF THE SHOW! These were hands down the best thing we ordered. Crispy, sticky, sweet with just the right amount of heat...absolutely delicious! I'd honestly come back just for these. Clam Chowder - Creamy, comforting, and a nice starter. Bacon Cheeseburger - A solid burger that definitely hit the spot. My only real complaint? The wings. Not the flavor--the portion size. For $20, I think the order should include at least 8-10 wings. You get six (the sixth one is hiding under the garnish in my photo ), and one of them was noticeably smaller than the others. They were so good that I just wished there had been more! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Between the charming atmosphere, friendly service, and those unforgettable wings, I'd definitely come back again.
