Service was good! Food was just nothing special. We really wanted pizza after a wine tasting, and we were hoping for more of a wood-fired vibe. But we found this place and decided to give it a try. The breadsticks were not very appealing, but they tasted alright. I did not expect them to have cheese on them, but they did and it was fine. Pepperoni pizza was also just fine. I'm staying at the resort across the street from this restaurant, and after a long day, couldn't face driving anywhere for dinner. I had a sneaking suspicion that something called Jacob's Restaurant tucked into a strip mall would be a bland old fashioned 'family restaurant' affair and the exterior and interior (complete with sunflower table cloth) didn't assuage my concerns. But I'm happy to say I was so wrong. They had a solid wine list, solid service, and really well cooked from scratch pasta. I had the spicy penne and it was delicious. Pasta was perfectly al dente, the sausage nicely spiced though a sludge dense, and the creamy sauce was good enough to swim in. The staff were super attentive even though they were very busy and they were also very friendly. The food was delicious, my wife and I got a large Sonoma Pizza and a mixed green salad to share. Before we even got to the pizza, that was the best green salad I've ever had. Simple, yummy, especially the cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. I am a pizza snob, and with the exception of Mountain Mike's, I can't stand any of the big chains. The Sonoma pizza had the perfect balance of pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, onions and garlic. I was missing the pizza's we used to get here, or was it just a wisp of something else? My Wife ordered us a small cheese, large Pepperoni and what I was hoping for was their Greek and Family Salad. The look on my wife's face, said it before the boxes were even on the Kitchen Table. To begin with the Greek Salad was nothing but greens with little or nothing extra, barely Artichoke Hearts, Cucumbers and any Pepper Slices, no olives or Feta... enter dressing was lacking any true flavor, nothing of what I expected for the money. Next came my expectations......gone, we paid extra for Feta and Cheese, neither could be bee seen evenly through the whole pie. The sauce and cheese inconsistency was baffling... why would anyone claim that this was anything that Little Ceasars couldn't easily beat, seemed that quality had been replaced with "Just get it out the door". The final two pies were so substandard that I could Hardly compare them to anything worthy of Jacobs name. I'd give this places 1/2 Star if I could. In Sonoma it is not real easy to find a restaurant open on Tuesday or Wednesday. Luckily we found Jacob's. This is a small family business. The service and staff are great. "That's okay. We don't want customers like you anyway" said the owner (Oscar). 1/23/26... Last night, I ordered a pizza and 2 pasta dishes on the phone and asked Oscar I will order a gyro when I get there because I wanted it to be fresh, so I never ordered the gyro on the phone. When we arrived, I ordered a gyro; however, when we got home, the gyro was a chicken gyro, not lamb. So, I called Oscar and he was argumentative and kept telling me repeatedly that I ordered chicken gyro on the phone. I said are you sure I said chicken on the phone. He lied and said yes. That was a lie because I ordered the gyro in person, not on the phone. So, after 5 minutes of arguing over a gyro, he told us to bring the chicken gyro back and get a lamb gyro instead, but at this point, I worried about what surprise I was going to get so I declined his offer, and told him he just lost 4 customers o er a sandwich to which he replied, "That's okay. We don't want customers like you anyway". On a side note, one of the pasta dishes was stone cold. The Alfredo pasta was hot, but the lady who ate that just called us this morning to say she got food poisoning from the Alfredo pasta. The pizza was good. Some friends invited us for dinner here and they ordered the pizza ahead of time so when we all arrived it was ready for us. Our waiter Joaquin was very friendly and helpful in ordering our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed. The combination pizza was very good. She swapped the tomato for sundried tomato which I loved gave it another flavor. Pizza is thin and has tons of toppings on it. It has a spacious inside area to dine in and also a small outdoor area which I am sure is very nice to sit at, but it was full when we got there. Cute little restaurant located conveniently next to the Sonoma Train, which makes for a very short walk to get some solid Italian food! Pizza, pastas, and more ... service was solid and accommodating. Pizzas had a nice dough and a good amount of toppings! Definitely cheesy which my daughter enjoyed! Pasta was also fresh and tasty. After doing a bit of research online, my first food stop on my trip to Sonoma was Jacob's. Since it was late afternoon midweek, there was no wait and a plenty of seats available both inside and on their shaded patio. They are open all afternoon except for Monday, so if the places around the central square are packed, this place is a great choice. The waitress was very efficient and friendly, and recognized me on a subsequent visit, welcoming me back! I chose the chicken gyro with a side salad, that was ENORMOUS and delicious, but even in my ravenous state, I could only finish half of this plate! A friend ordered the pesto chicken sandwich with side salad and could not finish it either, although they were equally famished! I knew after this meal to always split a plate here unless you wanted leftovers to take away! I went back the next day and used my newly acquired knowledge about their portion sizes to split a caesar salad and lasagna with my dining partner and it worked out perfectly! We sat outside under huge red umbrellas, so the shots below have a bit of a tint to them :( The lasagna was served with vegetables that could have been a meal in and of themselves, with a cheesy bread side. The beef lasagna was obviously freshly made with a bright tangy tomato sauce and loaded with vegetables. Even splitting this with the salad was very filling! read more

Tables spaced more than 6 feet apart for those who are still Covid conscious. Dinner for me and Barbara tonight was: crispy calamari, a Cesar salad, a big bowl of pene pasta with spicy sausage bathed in a delicious tomato cream sauce. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The calamari was crunchy outside, succulent inside. The Cesar was freshly crisp, seasoned lightly, had plenty of grated Parmesan cheese. Topped with the world's crunchiest croutons. We finished up with a panna cotta topped with a preserved black cherry. Creamy deliciousness that concluded a very satisfying meal. All the food with 2 glasses of wine cost less than $64. That's 70% less money than I paid at another Italian restaurant in Santa Rosa 2 nights ago. Well done Jacob's. You won 2 new regular customers. First evening in Sonoma my husband and I had pizza, salad and wine at this cute little restaurant right across from where we staying. Tired from a long cross country flight, this was the perfect place to rest our feet and have a bite to eat. We ordered a shrimp appetizer that was garnished with sweet mango. The Greek salad was very flavorful. The pizza was delicious! We ordered a small pizza was sausage, pepperoni, onions, peppers and black olives...yummy. Just had a terrible experience at Jacobs for lunch today. I've had their Chicken Sandwich before and it was good but today it was dry and no flavor at all. Kept having to ask for more aoli and mustard and salt & ketchup for the fries. Wish I had gotten the Fig Salad instead but the server recommended the Chicken Sandwich. I brought most of the sandwich home with the fries and will try to salvage the meal which came to $35. i could have gotten a McChicken Sandwich at McDonalds for $3 that tastes way better then this that cost $17!!! I asked for a to go box and my check....after about 10 minutes she came with a box and my bill and a machine I was supposed to operate myself. She left. It charged my card and would not print a receipt. Couldn't get the servers attention for almost 10 minutes and there were no people there except one table of people she knew. She completely ignored me until I flagged her down and asked if I could please get a receipt. I hate spending this kind of money to get lousy food and lousy service! I won't be back! read more

We came here for lunch after the Sonoma train visit. We all were all famished and got outdoors patio tables. Their staff is friendly and warm. We got half veggie and half chicken pesto pizza, spicy pasta with shrimps, hamburger, spaghetti, kids cheese pizza, family Caesar salad. The pizza, hamburger and Caesar salad were really good. I truly enjoy Jacob's Pizza. Not only os their pizza delicious, crunchy, but is also not oily which in my opinion is a downside for many pizzerias. We ordered a Large Jacob's pizza, and it was just enough for 4 of us. Staff was great, very attentive and polite. Great thing is, is about a 2 min drive from downtown Sonoma. Plenty of parking, and delicious food and great customer service. I mean, what more could you ask for an experience in downtown Sonoma! Food is close to 5 star. The outdoor seating for 4 or more was not great however. More recommend this for large groups for take out I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken $17. The salad was just okay but the chicken was super tender and expertly done. We also shared the following - seafood risotto. We couldn't get enough of it - fish special was also expertly prepared - even the margarita pizza we got was delicious. The outdoor seating however was at best 3 stars. We had five people and was sat at a larger table but no table cloth nor comfy chairs. It was noticeable as the tables for two or three people were much nicer along the restaurant. Our area was covered by a weird plastic wrapping on the fence that made it unusually hot. We may not come back for the outdoor dining but would absolutely do take out from here when we are back in Sonoma again. read more

Best meal I've had from Jacob's ever! We had stopped eating here a couple years ago, as the meals had been disappointing. We tried them again several months ago and have been extremely happy with our orders. Tonight's meal was so delicious, butternut squash soup, chicken picatta, mixed green salad and fettuccine Alfredo with grilled prawns. Ordered for pickup online via the Menufy app and in less than 30 minutes we were home with our piping hot meals, enjoying them on a cold and rainy night. Great job chef! read more

My wife and I were regulars who liked the pasta. Then we hit two bad experiences. First, a lost take out order that was fine. I was ok to wait. Next time, we ordered a chicken pasta and there was no chicken. Rather than offer to substitute what we wanted, they suggested shrimp. We said ok and got 3 shrimp.
