Legit bomb food. Family fun zone. I played ping pong with a random 8 year old. Mixed it up with a bachelorette gang. The buffalou sando was my fave. Biscuit was sweet I'll be back for a waffle and a milkshake. Bring quarters. Inside seating very nostalgic, underrated.

Passing this place you wouldn't think it's real, like its to picture perfect. But then you go inside and the decor inside matches the outside, right down to the 1940s payphone on the wall. Wine, Beer Burgers and fried chicken. The food Is delicious but the atmosphere makes everything taste better. The staff is excellent! Especially the captain of the ship Colin, I stayed about a half hour longer just talking to him. Great vibes, great food, in an unbelievable location. Lou's is something special! The only thing missing was apple pie. This is Americana at its finest!

Finally got a chance & dayoff to try this place. Friendly staff. Nice inside and outside patio area. Great food! My only complaint is theres no menus at all until you get right up to the register so i didnt have much time to make a decision. Almost got the brisket or pulled pork. We got the crispy chicken sandwich , chicken tenders fries & vanilla milkshake. Everything we ordered was delicious, moist, hot, fresh! Did not disappoint!! Chicken had a nice crunch, excellent flavor, moist, fresh, the shoestring fries had a nice crisp and nice amount of seasoned salt. They were super busy 8/17/25 on a Sunday. Good for families. The owners own Jacks gas station in sonoma i believe changed it from box car diner before covid. Great job! Will return. Order #91

So we were looking for a quick and light lunch as we had dinner plans and did not want to spoil our appetite. This is a roadside dive, with some indoor seating and a patio, nothing to look at. But the FOOD was Excellent and one meal was plenty for us to share. Got the Catfish and fries, with Cole slaw. The Root Beer I ordered was Craft Brewed, better than most too!

Scrumdiddlyumptious! I've had this place on my must-try list for a while, and I finally got the perfect opportunity to check it out. I had only one Sonoma winery tour scheduled for 3:00 pm, so I made my way up from the city and arrived around 1:30 pm for a slightly late lunch. It was still a bit busy at this time, but despite the crowd, the service was friendly and fast. If you love Southern food and aren't afraid of mayonnaise, this place is for you. For the classics - their potato salad, hushpuppies, and deviled eggs were all perfect. While I thought the fried chicken could have been made with better quality meat, the biscuit and fixins were absolutely divine. I probably wouldn't order the chicken again, but I'd definitely return for everything else. I'll be sure to order extra biscuits next time. The food and service were great, and the ambiance was really nice too. The interior is itty bitty, but they have a sizable outdoor patio, complete with umbrellas, a huge mural, and even few Tonka trucks. It seemed super kid/pet-friendly overall. There were several dogs on the patio, each with their own water bowl. This is a perfect spot to bring the whole family to relax and enjoy warmer weather days.

So glad we stopped at Lou's on our way from Santa Rosa to Sacramento. That biscuit is the best I've ever had! I wish the chicken tender that was in it was bigger but it tasted good. The homemade pickles were amazing and I usually don't like pickles. The potato salad was good too, very dill forward but the overall blend of flavors was nice. Great service and super cute ambiance with a nice patio and goats in the back. I'm definitely stopping by whenever I'm in Sonoma!

classic cheese burger and chicken sandwich and fries.

Food is not bad but just average. as expected for a regular hamburger place. A place to stop by for a beer or two. Service was good, no complaints there. The place was nice and clean both inside and outside. Overall an Ok place to stop for a break and have a nice cold one. cheers!

Stopped in for breakfast. Ordered the eggs Benedict and hubby ordered the Finer breakfast, which was the 2 eggs with choice of bacon, sausage, etc. hash browns were included in both breakfasts. Very tasty and hardy breaker! Order at the counter and you can sit inside or out in their beautiful outdoor space. The folks were friendly and service was great.

We met another family for lunch here and got chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, coleslaw, fries and lemonade! Everything was delicious and it was perfect for the kiddos, because there is ping-pong, trucks and goats, oh-my! You put your order in at the counter and then they give you a little ring-a-ding, which will, you guessed it, ring when your order is ready! The place is kept clean and orderly, and service is fast even when it's busy! There are a few tables inside, but since we had a big group we sat outside. Lots of seating outside! We will be here again for sure!

Cool place, great nostalgia, wine country adjacent! We will definitely visit, eat and drink there again!

In fact the whole experience was great. There was a short line when I went for lunch. I finally got up to the register and asked the last of she like the brisket or the Philly sandwich better? "Ooooohh that is a tough one - I like them both. Philly is a hit more food but flavorful but the brisket is good and probably one of our most popular sandwiches." Nice!!! And how is the Mac and cheese? "people love it but it is a bit cheesy just so you know". Ok so let me get the brisket sandwich, the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and the Mac and cheese. "You want all of it?" YEP!! So I have to say both sandwiches were good but the brisket was the winner for me. The brisket was very flavorful, juicy, spiced right. I should have listened to her on the Mac and cheese. Way too cheesy for me. What also tipped this over to a 5 star review is Dora (I hope I got the name right). What a sweet kind amazing woman. She gave me my food when the buzzer went off. I told her I didn't need the second silverware set as it wa a just me. "All this for you?" YEP!! Ok fine I will take an advance on a to-go box. She checked on me. She grabbed my plate (wood plank). She was really great. So thank you! I will be back. Check this place out.

Cornbread and sauces missed the mark for me, but the meat more than made up for it. Definitely going back! The full story: Finally! A BBQ joint that knows how to season meat! Stateline Road Smokehouse in Napa is the spot. We rolled in on Mother's Day and got hit with a line almost out the door -- always a good sign! Turned out the wait wasn't bad though, because they've got a slick assembly line going. I watched the girl slicing my brisket right next to the order-taker, then just followed my tray as it moved down the line. The space is gorgeous -- big, bright, and airy, with clear garage doors and windows across the front and a domed ceiling overhead. We ordered the brisket, burnt ends, BBQ chicken, mac n cheese, and hot water cornbread. Plates come with their house-made pickles, onions, and peppers. They even have stuff for non-carnivores -- the Cherry Wood-smoked Maitake & Greens (maitake mushrooms, lettuce, heirloom rice, marinated garbanzo beans, lemon vinaigrette) and the 18th & Vine Grain Bowl (barley, quinoa, sweet potato, arugula, parsnip, saffron egg, pickled onion, burnt orange vinaigrette) both looked fantastic. Maybe I'll grab one next time -- right next to a pile of brisket! On the drink side they've got wines by the glass, boozy slushies, draft beer, and batch cocktails. We stuck with water this round. Prices were a notch above what I'm used to in Sacramento, but for Napa they felt totally fair -- especially since this is probably the best BBQ around. The brisket was a steal at $19 for a half pound. The chicken at the same price for a half bird felt a bit steep, but I could be off on what's normal up there. The brisket was seasoned beautifully from the very first bite -- smoked to perfection, fall-apart tender. No knife needed. The burnt ends were my favorite of the whole spread. They had a splash of sauce on them but it wasn't needed -- those rubs hold their own. The BBQ chicken had a totally different vibe -- hard to describe, but it gave off Asian-influenced flavors. Solid on its own, but pairing it with the brisket and burnt ends was a misfire. The flavors just didn't play nice together. The mac n cheese was great. It wasn't baked, but it also wasn't mushy or overcooked like most places -- the noodles still had bite and the cheese was flavorful. Sadly, the cornbread was the weak link. A little dry, kinda bland, and not as thick as I like. About the size of a thin 6" pancake -- not really worth the price. The other miss for me was the BBQ sauces. Just not my thing flavor-wise. To be fair though, the owner built his whole business on those sauces and apparently ships them out by the pallet, so plenty of people clearly love them! It was awesome seeing Darryl Bell, the owner, back in the kitchen working his magic -- and get this, he's reportedly the first Black restaurateur in Napa since the 1800s! That made the warm welcome hit even harder. Even with the rush going on, he popped out to snap a picture with us and thank us for coming in. His business partner Jeremy was also working the floor, checking in on every table, and he stuck around to talk us up about Darryl's BBQ skills and how their partnership came together. Then during a lull, Darryl came back out and gave us the whole tour -- the cultural and historical design choices throughout the space (the building used to be a Quonset hut, which explains that cool domed ceiling) plus the murals on the back patio. Dinner AND a show! Wishing these guys all the best. Can't wait to get back and work through more of the menu.

You go all the way back to the deli, grab a paper and pen and fill out the sheet on how you want your sandwich. Then place it on the counter and they stick it in line. Sandwiches take a few minutes especially if you want it hot or toasted. If you want a burrito or some special not on the paper, just announce it to them and they'll make a paper and put it in line. They put a ton of meat of the sandwiches. We were very pleased. I went with the cucumber which was 0.50 extra so my sandwich was $15.99. My husband got the pesto which is also an extra charge. They forgot the pesto but we took the sandwich to go, so we didn't realize that. The next time we got lunch, I had the burrito and it needed salsa or hot sauce. Luckily, we ate outside in the covered seating area and I was able to go back in to get hot sauce AND the pesto sauce they forgot a second time. What is it about the pesto that they forget? They offered to remake the sando but I said no just gimme a side. Apparently there is hot sauce by the microwave FYI. The store has all kinds of drinks and snacks. We grabbed two small bags of chips. They also have premade meals for lunch dinner and even breakfast. Everything looked so good. If I lived there, I would shop all the time. They have a butcher shop as well. There is a small bathroom around the back for customers. And a sink in the covered eating area to wash your hands. Parking is along the street or their little lot. Check this place out. Once we made our choice--ham and turkey with provolone on crusty white sourdough bread with mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomato, we waited for the assembly. While waiting we pondered grabbing a pasta salad from the tasty looking assortment on the shelf to accompany our sandwich but in the end opted for a container of local California strawberries, and chips (plain for the hubs and oil and vinegar for yours truly). While at the register the friendly cashier suggested a Mexican marzipan style cookie, which we readily agreed to. Lunch was delicious later as we sat on a park bench by a peaceful pond in the middle of Jack London state park. My husband particularly enjoyed the bread.
