This restaurant is so cute and trendy! We did not have to wait very long for a seat, and they have a lot of seating outside. We ordered a bunch of things, and I got to try the asparagus scramble and the strawberry waffle. The waffle was really tasty if you are looking for something sweet. The scramble was pretty good as well, but it was a little liquidy from the asparagus cooking in. The only thing I might change is the amount of butter on the toast. I love butter, but there was a LOT of butter! My friends also seem to really enjoy the strawberry matcha, and said that it was more on the sour strawberry side.

I've been coming to this breakfast cafe for years and it's still so good. It can be a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the quality and service. We came as a party of 2 and ordered a lot, and everything was delicious. The drinks were really good too, the mimosas are a must. The vibes are giving backyard chilling in the best way. Super sweet spot, just come early because the lines can get long. Definitely worth the wait though.
This caught my eye as a popular, top reviewed breakfast spot in Sonoma, and I'm glad I got to check it out! The restaurant looks small at the front but opens up to a large, cute patio in the back. The patio is covered but feels bright and open, and with the recent cold weather, they had plenty space heaters around. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu steak and eggs, and I ordered the biscuit sandwich. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and he loved the crispy, rustic sourdough bread and potatoes on the side. The biscuit was large and fluffy, but was a little too soft for my liking; I also added bacon to the sandwich but it felt a little skimpy and the bacon was excessively fatty / chewy. This wasn't my favorite breakfast, but I also think I made the wrong choice for myself. My boyfriend's meal and all the other food around us looked delicious, and the ambiance was great, so I think this place is still 4 stars worthy!
We love a spot that uses local farm-fresh ingredients Gorgeous garden patio dining, flowers in the fountain, a great Spring spot overall. Staff was so friendly and attentive and I wish we had the stomach to eat more off the menu! But that's alright, just means we have to visit again, right?

Went here with my friend because its her favorite brunch place! The ambiance is outstanding! Especially outdoors plants, string lights. Heaters and shade add comfort and natural ambiance. I didn't order outside of my comfort zone because I was tracking meals so i got the American breakfast and a lavender latte and a side of almond croissant. Service was fast and friendly! We weren't rushed nor unattended. The food is great but would love try other options next time! I love my coffee as it hits the right spot! Not too sweet but also not too strong! Will definitely go back!
This place was absolutely magical! I was hesitant about sitting outside because of how cold it was, but they had plenty of heaters and blankets. Everything looked so pretty and it felt really festive, I loved all the decor. The service was really fast and friendly. The food was delicious, I really loved my waffle. I got a plain latte which was good, but if I go again I'd love to try one if the flavored drinks. There's also plenty of parking around and they had a nice bathroom.

From when we arrived to being seated everyone was super nice & helpful. We started with iced vanilla latte. It was very good and not to sweet. Then I got a bacon pecan waffle it was very tasty and good balance between salty & sweet. Hubby got the grilled chicken avocado grilled cheese. It was definitely shareable and super tasty. Will definetly be back soon.
Sunflower cafe never disappoints! The ambience is so relaxing and every single person that works here is always welcoming and warm. They started making their own scones and they were to die for!! Best scone I've ever had. I thought the almond croissant was impressive but these scones shot to the top of my list immediately! We had breakfast biscuit sandwich, eggs Benedict, savory jalepeno cheddar scone and sweet caramel cashew scone. My husband got the tiramisu cloud drink and it was amazing: a dessert in itself.
More like 3.5 Stopped by this area before our wine tasting. Ordered the half sandwich and soup combo. This hit the spot. I have been craving this combo so it was good. The soup was on the sour/acidic side, but paired well the grilled cheese. Grilled cheese was good. Love the sourdough! The salad was not fully dressed.
This is still a favorite stop of mine for some good food. It's been a few years since we last came, but the food is just as good as I remember. The backyard seating is also lovely with all their plants and shaded spots. We had their Turkish eggs, duck breast sandwich and the Shrimp toast appetizer. Everything was amazing. I'd only add that my son would have appreciated another poached egg or two (it comes with two) with the Greek yogurt and bread! read more
The moment we walked in it smelled delicious! A perfect bakery smell. The inside is cute and small but there are tables out front and a beautiful back patio area with lots of beautiful greenery with lights and two fountains with flowers floating in them. The service was pretty good, seated fast, pretty attentive with all the tables they had to serve. We ordered a traditional caramel macchiato (it is nothing like a Carmel macchiato that you are thinking of) and a matcha latte. They were pretty but lacking flavor. The Mach was very bitter, but I am sure that's the traditional version in a little bitty shot like glass -not my fave but I was trying to order stuff i wouldn't normally get. the matcha came in a giant mug, and it wasn't sweet at all and just kinda of plain. For food, we ordered the wagyu steak and eggs. It came with some interesting garlic herby potatoes, a piece of sourdough cut in half, scrambled eggs, 6 slim slices of beef and a little jam of some sort. We also asked for a side of their house made chili crunch. The steak was mediocre, the potatoes tasted a little weird. We enjoyed the bread and eggs the most. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. I'd come back and try other items. It is a very cute location. read more
This is a cute spot with a really nice outdoor patio. I visited during the winter when it was cooler outside, and the patio had a bunch of heat lamps to keep people warm. During peak brunch hours on a Sunday, my group of 3 did not have any issues getting seated as soon as we arrived. I was looking for something lighter so I went for an order of their Turkish eggs ($18). The tangy yogurt with the aromatic chili crunch really hit the spot, and the sourdough was delicious. I will mention that the patio bathroom situation was kind of awkward. There are two private bathrooms but they're separated on opposite ends of a building so it's hard to see which one is occupied or not. read more

I recently ate here with my mom for Mother's Day, and this is by far one of my favorite brunch spots. Not only are the drinks fantastic, I got the strawberry Matcha, the food is also very fresh & the service is quick. We decided to sit inside because it was a short wait, but had regrets bc the outside garden looks majestic. I had the salmon Benedict and it was very fresh and tasty. We visited on a Saturday morning around 10am and were pleasantly surprised to be seated pretty quickly. The heaters made the patio comfortable, allowing us to fully enjoy the lovely ambiance without feeling cold. 4/5 Avocado Toast was fresh and well-prepared, with hazelnuts adding a nice textural element and a subtle hint of truffle that elevated the dish. However, it didn't quite reach exceptional status - I would have loved to see some additional toppings like cherry tomatoes or a citrus element to brighten up the flavors and add more complexity to the dish. 6/5 Croissant was absolutely incredible and the star of our meal! This isn't your typical flaky, laminated croissant - instead, it's wonderfully soft and buttery, easily one of the best of its kind you can find. The richness of the butter shines through in every bite, and it came with an amazing apricot/peach jam on the side. While the croissant is phenomenal on its own, the jam adds a lovely fruity sweetness that complements it beautifully. I'm so glad we discovered Sunflower Caffe during our visit to Sonoma! While the croissant was the absolute standout, you can tell throughout the menu that they use high-quality ingredients and take care with their preparations. This is definitely a solid option when you're in the Sonoma area, and I would absolutely return just for that croissant alone. Sunflower Caffe is a special place! It has one of the prettiest outdoor dining patios of any place in Sonoma. We were there on a very cold morning and the servers brought us two heaters. It was quite warm and we were happy to sit outside. The patio is decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our server, Caden, was great! He is a super chill guy and very friendly. We ordered drinks first. I ordered a chai latte which was the right amount of sweet and spicy. I also tried an eggnog latte, which is perfect if you like eggnog. We ordered a curry soup because it sounded so wonderful on this cold morning. It was a leek and pumpkin curry that had a chili oil drizzled on it. The soup was super comforting and I loved the kick from the chili oil. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which had a lot going on! I ordered the half avocado which maybe wasn't necessary, but was still good. There's a lot in the burrito with a spinach tortilla, eggs, cheese, chorizo, potatoes, onions, and poblano peppers. It is a wet burrito with a salsa verde on it and sour cream. Overall, this is an excellent burrito. Every element is excellent on its own. My wife ordered the Autumn scramble. I just had a taste of it, but thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of Fall 8in the dish. Pieces of root vegetables with a soft scramble and a really nice, sweet salsa made this really tasty. If you're coming to the Sonoma Square then this should definitely be on your list of places to go! read more

What a great spot to fuel up for the day! The Sunflower cafe has a lovely patio in the back with plants and fountains. During the holidays it is decorated with poinsettias. They have heat lamps scattered through to keep you toasty. There is also plenty of indoor seating available. We started with coffee and water- There is a mimosa menu as well as other sparkling wines. Hubs had the breakfast burrito (huge!) I opted for the avocado toast with a poached egg. The avo toast has shaved Brussels sprouts-interesting and delicious twist! Attentive and friendly servers made sure we were comfortable and the coffee never ran out. 10/10 read more

FAMILY OWNED AND COMMUNITY DRIVEN: This is the perfect slogan for this picture perfect restaurant. The place is small but it's worth it. The food is locally sourced and delicious. I'm not sure if I loved the food more, or the staff. The minute you walk in, you're enveloped in the warmest smiles from everyone that works there. From the mimosas, to the buttermilk biscuit sandwich, to the passionfruit coconut waffles... impossible to choose the best thing we had. We went back to the Sunflower Cafe . Again I had the salmon Benedict . And a pitcher of Lavender Mimosa. The host got us right in maybe a5 minute wait. Not bad for a Sunday at around 11 am. The food was just as good if not better. The outside heated patio gorgeous read more
Such a Sonoma staple; within the past 2 years they have renovated the front half. You no longer order at the front, as it is table service only. They have maintained the beautiful patio and friendly service throughout the restaurant. Food presentation was beautiful but had an issue with the burrito as there was full size potatoes and sub chicken slices- which is not easily edible. Breakfast sandwich was good but messy, and avocado toast needed something in addition to make it fulfilling. Came for Sunday brunch around 10:30a with a friend and got seated right away although a line was definitely forming so time things well since they don't do reservations. The patio is absolutely adorable and the food is delicious and casual! The service was prompt and friendly. Although it was packed, we didn't feel rushed at all. Sunflower Caffe was a spur of the moment decision and I couldn't be happier with our choice. Everything here was on point from start to finish. We were seated immediately on the incredibly cute back patio and greeted quickly by our server. From the menu of many yummy options, I ordered the eggs Benedict (my go to) with drip coffee. I was a little hesitant on the eggs Benedict because of the lemon mention in the hollandaise sauce but this was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). Ham was thinly sliced, hollandaise was amazing and the side dressed salad was a refreshing addition to my morning. Coffees and waters were never left empty for long (if at all). If I was a local this would be in the regular rotation so I'm happy we were able to experience such a cute restaurant with great service and an eggs Benedict that delivers exactly what is promised on the menu. read more
Located in downtown Sonoma, went here for the first time on Valentine's Day brunch. All though they were busy and our wait time for a table was about 35 min service was great. Decided to head over to Sonoma Plaza after hot air ballooning this morning and found Sunflower Caffe. The outdoor seating on the street is what initially lured us in. Upon walking in, I discovered they also had an outdoor patio in back. This morning we selected a seat out back. It was such a charming, almost secret garden vibe in back. We loved it. The menu itself had some unique items, although rather pricey for the basics. The food itself was well prepared and seasoned as it should be, but at $25 for an American breakfast is steep, even for wine country. Servers were friendly and kept the coffee filled, which is critical for a breakfast joint. Good food, great atmosphere, bring an extra wallet. read more

went here for brunch for my friend's birthday, it was fun! they accommodated our large group with a beautiful wooden table. they even gave us a space heater since some people were chilly. the hot chocolate was divine, just so excellent and perfect. the turkish eggs were good, I wish it had more eggs though not gonna lie. the warm greek yogurt surprised me with how yummy it was with the chili oil. it just was lowkey too much for the toast and egg we had. very unique though would try again and i just wish it had more eggs though for the price point read more

Are dogs welcome to join on patio dining?
Dogs are allowed on the front patio seating! Just not inside or in the back patio.
Is there Yelp wait list? Is it hard to get a table for 2 at noon on a Sunday?
It's rarely an issue to get a table. There are lots available and the food comes out quick. Even for larger parties during busy times is not usually a problem
