The patio is covered but feels bright and open, and with the recent cold weather, they had plenty space heaters around. My boyfriend ordered the Wagyu steak and eggs, and I ordered the biscuit sandwich. My boyfriend's steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and he loved the crispy, rustic sourdough bread and potatoes on the side. The biscuit was large and fluffy, but was a little too soft for my liking; I also added bacon to the sandwich but it felt a little skimpy and the bacon was excessively fatty / chewy. This wasn't my favorite breakfast, but I also think I made the wrong choice for myself. We come to Sunflower every time we visit Sonoma. The location is great, right on the square. Sunflower feels like three cafes in one. Sit outside out front, makes for great people watching, grabbing something to go to bring back to your Airbnb, and picking up some fun gifts, hats or teas, etc... for souvenirs. Last time we were there (ate there twice in four days!) we had a lovely brunch in the back garden area. They had a ton of beautiful fresh flowers in the fountain and portable heaters that help reduce the morning chill. I would highly suggest their kale Caesar with chicken for lunch, the Sunflower grilled cheeses are legendary, and the scrambled asparagus breakfast I had was tasty! I love the ambiance of this cafe! Have been here twice and there usually is a bit of a wait on the weekend, but the sunny weather usually helps. Their garden seating is really great on a nice day, and there's a lot of solid brunch options. I got one of the egg scrambles and yogurt dips; and both tasted fresh with good ingredients. They have maintained the beautiful patio and friendly service throughout the restaurant. Sunflower Caffe is a special place! It has one of the prettiest outdoor dining patios of any place in Sonoma. We were there on a very cold morning and the servers brought us two heaters. It was quite warm and we were happy to sit outside. The patio is decorated beautifully for Christmas. Our server, Caden, was great! He is a super chill guy and very friendly. We ordered drinks first. I ordered a chai latte which was the right amount of sweet and spicy. I also tried an eggnog latte, which is perfect if you like eggnog. We ordered a curry soup because it sounded so wonderful on this cold morning. It was a leek and pumpkin curry that had a chili oil drizzled on it. The soup was super comforting and I loved the kick from the chili oil. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which had a lot going on! I ordered the half avocado which maybe wasn't necessary, but was still good. There's a lot in the burrito with a spinach tortilla, eggs, cheese, chorizo, potatoes, onions, and poblano peppers. It is a wet burrito with a salsa verde on it and sour cream. Overall, this is an excellent burrito. Every element is excellent on its own. My wife ordered the Autumn scramble. I just had a taste of it, but thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of Fall 8in the dish. Pieces of root vegetables with a soft scramble and a really nice, sweet salsa made this really tasty. What a great spot to fuel up for the day! The Sunflower cafe has a lovely patio in the back with plants and fountains. During the holidays it is decorated with poinsettias. They have heat lamps scattered through to keep you toasty. There is also plenty of indoor seating available. We started with coffee and water- There is a mimosa menu as well as other sparkling wines. Hubs had the breakfast burrito (huge!) I opted for the avocado toast with a poached egg. The avo toast has shaved Brussels sprouts-interesting and delicious twist! We were seated immediately on the incredibly cute back patio and greeted quickly by our server. From the menu of many yummy options, I ordered the eggs Benedict (my go to) with drip coffee. I was a little hesitant on the eggs Benedict because of the lemon mention in the hollandaise sauce but this was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). Upon walking in, I discovered they also had an outdoor patio in back. This morning we selected a seat out back. It was such a charming, almost secret garden vibe in back. We loved it. The menu itself had some unique items, although rather pricey for the basics. The food itself was well prepared and seasoned as it should be, but at $25 for an American breakfast is steep, even for wine country. The addition of corn was not traditional and I respected that...it was something unique. My companion's biscuit was very good - a buttery buttermilk biscuit with nice fluffy eggs and cheese. The waffles were okay...the batter used was nothing special, but I did enjoy the fresh peaches in the dish. The ambiance is cute - really leaned into the "relaxed wine country" vibe from around the area. The service was very friendly. The price point was high for the experience...this isn't a fancy place by any means and for two people (three entrees, no drinks, no coffee/juice) it was almost $100. I realize that dining in the Bay Area/wine country can be expensive (even for "casual" spots), but this seemed a little much. I used to really love this place and would crave their Turkish eggs all the time. But lately, the price have shot up, and the quality just isn't there anymore. It feels like they're banking on their great location and nice outdoor seating instead of focusing on the food and hospitality . It's clear they're targeting tourists now, which is a bit of a bummer for the regulars. This charming eatery is located around the main square area, has both indoor and outdoor seating and also has a wonderful covered backyard area. We were directed to the small front dining and fell in love with the ambiance. The beverages were skillfully created as well as the dishes we selected. We started with mimosas, had the peach, lavender and classic. The lavender was out of this world!
