This ambitious restaurant has made little secret of its Michelin-star aspirations. Food press has been raving, and it's for good reason. This is one of the best new restaurant launches in the North Bay since Single Thread; it's on par with some of the best wine country restaurants, with an outstanding kitchen turning out impressive (and creative) dishes that leave a lasting impression. Chefs here have worked at some of the best restaurants in the country, with stings at Saison (three stars), Atelier Crenn (three stars), Quince (three stars), and Birdsong (two stars); even the servers have been recruited from impressive restaurants (one server remembered me from Nisei (one star) and Harbor House Inn (two stars). This is a dream team of talent, and the food reaches the heights you'd expect from this sort of team. Not every dish is a hit - but that's to be expected in a multi-course three-hour journey. The small bites that kick off the meal are spectacular. The main courses are good, and desserts are wonderful and whimsical. The pastry chef came from Californios (a two-star restaurant that really should have three). What's more impressive is that almost everything is locally sourced, and while the ingredients are great, they're being transformed into magic in the kitchen. Two stars in next year's guide is a reach - possible, but challenging. One is a definite guarantee. And for the price, this is a steal.

From the moment we arrived at Enclos in Sonoma, the evening felt less like dinner and more like an unfolding work of art. Under Chef Brian Limoges's, every course was a tribute--to Sonoma's terroir, to the sea, to the forest--and to exquisite technique. We were guided through a tasting menu that transcends expectations. We really liked the clam-chowder chawanmushi, which captures that comforting New England classic in a silk-smooth custard and caviar. The venison tartare served in a smoked-oat shell, set upon an antler and crowned with fried lichen, was beautiful and very tasty. The 60-day dry-aged tuna belly brought to the table as a display initially with Koshihikari rice and passionfruit sabayon stood out as a masterpiece and the flavors were incredible. But what truly made the night memorable was the service--impeccably polished, warm, attentive. A special thank you to Rhett, Dylan, Larry, Melissa, Austin, and Holin. Their careful timing, their gracious explanations of each dish, their ability to anticipate without intruding--these are what turn great food into an amazing evening.

Above my expectation. Better than the other Michelin 2 star restaurants I have been to (food design, taste and price wise). Love the environment and clear view of the kitchen. One server was attentive enough that he noticed my husband is left handed. Worth going.

Fabulous Enclos, opened in Sonoma only 7 months earned Michelin 2 star rating-well deserved) after its opening under Chef Brain Limoges. From his pedigree start @ The New England Culinary Institute to Atellier Crenn to his 4 year stint @ Quince, Chef Brian brings new meaning to the word sumptuously delicious & inspiring to the cuisine under the 3 1/2 hr Prix Fixe menu well worth the time & palet. On par with The French Laundry & Single Thread of Yountville & Healdsburg, well worth the Prix fixe if you can get a table.

We had a lovely time at Enclos tonight. All the staff were great, but Brittney, Rhett and Larry really made our night. Delicious and beautiful food. Quite creative. Michelin star worthy. Guessing they get awarded one any day!

I can see why they were immediately awarded two stars! Absolutely phenomenal and probably my favorite fine dining meal this year. The food, the service, the ambiance - everything was wonderful. I wouldn't be surprised if they collected that third star in the near future. The small bites they start you off with were whimsical, innovative, and so beautiful. Everything was so fun to eat! The only one I felt was a bit out of place was the bread pudding as it was heavier and would have fit more naturally at a later part in the pace of the dishes. My favorite out of the bunch was definitely their take on a lobster roll. I cannot say enough good things about their tomato dish; it was bright, acidic, sweet, tart, crunchy, light, and the perfect dish to whet your appetite. I love that they source all of their tomatoes from their own farm and have so many varieties; many of which were included in this dish! The laminated brioche with seaweed butter was another highlight because I always love a good bread and butter course. Only wish we could have had more! But my absolute favorite of the night was their 60 day dry aged tuna belly with koshihikari rice. Everything was perfect except for the passionfruit and uni sabayon because the passionfruit really overpowered the dish. So I ended up eating that first by itself before enjoying the rest of the components together, which were harmoniously delicious. The sushi rice seasoning was spot on and the succulents were crisp, fresh notes that helped add brightness to the dish. The quail dish prepared two ways was also very fun to eat and they were genius in presenting the leg on a metal contraption so you don't have to dirty your fingers but could still pick it up to eat. I do not usually enjoy lamb (personal preference) so the main dish was not my favorite. However their lamb bone broth was so, so good. I could have had two or three bowls of that alone. It was warm, comforting, and just a reminder of when simple things are executed flawlessly. As a dessert fiend, I was excited to see what goodies would grace our table with the savory dishes done and I was not disappointed. So many wonderful desserts, all presented beautifully with flavors that complemented each other and textures that kept things interesting. Nothing was heavy or too rich. My favorite was surprisingly the sunflower chocolate that had (if I recall correctly) sunflower seed butter in the middle so it was like an elevated peanut butter cup. 100% worth the drive up to Sonoma and I can't wait to make my next reservation here.

One of the best meals I've ever had. Michelin star worthy! The 10 course tasting menu was amazing and the service was incredible. Watching them in the kitchen was so much fun and entertaining. Will definitely be returning ASAP.

Wow! This was an absolutely incredible experience and the highlight of my Sonoma trip! Every single dish was a work of art and full of flavor. The whole experience is so much fun between the cool table-side presentations, fun service team, gorgeous restaurant, and world class food. The gougère was quite the opening bite and really set the tone for this amazing meal. The lobster tart was perfection and definitely one of my favorites of the night. The fermented rutabaga bread pudding was unlike anything i've had before. The spot prawns were so soft, they literally melted in my mouth. The clam chowder custard was such a fun elevated take on a classic dish, it was one of my groups favorites. But the star of the show was definitely their 60 day dry aged bluefin tuna dish, it was absolute perfection and one of my favorites dishes of all time. I was so sad when i finished my bowl. Another highlight of the meal was their lamb, it didn't taste gamey at all and the sauce it was served with was great, it was a habanero sauce yet they somehow removed the overwhelming spice aspect. The smoked lamb rib was jaw dropping and i'll be thinking about it for a while. The service was wonderful, not stuffy at all, yet still very professional and high level. By the end of the night i was stuffed, so don't worry about leaving hungry. Enclos is such a special place and i'll be thinking about this meal for a long time.

Excellent overall dining experience on par with French Laundry. The flavors, presentation and quality of ingredients were outstanding. Some of the ingredients were things I had never tasted before but everything was delicious. The wine pairings were spot on and unique interesting wines that matched well with the dishes. Service was as good as it gets. We were treated like family in a good way, very friendly and not pretentious. It was obvious that the staff really enjoyed their jobs. We will definitely be back often. Highly recommend

I had the pleasure of dining at Enclos on Friday night. Full disclosure, we did get the meal comped because of my friend, however, we paid for all of the alcohol. There is so much good to say about this restaurant, I will try and organize my thoughts. FOOD We went with the 10-course meal, and all of the photos are actual photos from the meal. A 10-course meal sounds like a lot, but each "meal is about 2 to 3 bites, so it's manageable. What to say about the food. There are definitely flavors and combinations I have never tried before, but I ended up absolutely loving them. Have you ever had fried lichen before? Perhaps venison served on elk antlers? Maybe 60-day aged tuna belly is more to your liking. Here's another disclosure, I generally don't like fish. Half of the menu items were fish. I think I like fish now If you opt for the 10-course meal, here are my top 3: 1. Masami Ranch Wagyu. I am a carnivore, and I like meat. I like trying different kinds of beef, and exotic meats, Wagyu is always in my top five. But it's not just the beef, it's the plating, it's the coordinating side dishes, this dish has it all. 2. 60 day tuna. I know, I don't like fish, but this made my top three. Seriously good, mixed with warm Japanese rice, succulents, and passionfruit to brighten it up. Seriously not to be missed. 3. Gougere, orange blossom, and pine. It was kind of like a warm hug. It was one bite, and it had a little flower with pine extract on the top of it. It was a great way to start off the meal, and set the tone for the outstanding tastes to come. DRINK We had a combination of wine, champagne, and sake. I don't remember the exact labels we had, but do yourself a favor and let the sommelier choose. I found their sake menu to be exquisite. I lived in Japan for six years, and I grew to enjoy different kinds of sake. It's tough to find the different variations, and even tougher to find someone (the sommelier) who knows how to pair the different variations with food. For you beer lovers, they have three types of beer. Don't let that dissuade you. They have a Belgian cherry Lambic, an American IPA, and a Bavarian Pilsner. All are very highly rated. To me, it speaks volumes when a restaurant chooses to have a very selective beer menu, especially when the beers are so highly rated. SERVICE Of course, the service is going to be outstanding. But it still bears mentioning. Sometimes one of the problems with high-end restaurants is that it can be a little inaccessible. If you were coming out to this restaurant, you were going to spend some money, you just need to accept that. But sometimes people want to save up for a special night and come out to places like this. Other places I've been tend to be inaccessible to people who aren't used to this type of dining. Not Enclos. One of the things that set their service apart was their warmth. Yes, everybody was very professional and very courteous--everything you'd expect from this level of restaurant. But we were able to have conversations and banter a little bit with the staff. They learned a little bit about us, and we learned a little bit about them, and it really turned it into a dining experience, not a dining transaction. ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere is everything you'd expect from this level of restaurant. I'd like to mention a few things that stood out to me as unique. The steak knives we used were handmade/forged by a local blacksmith. I have a passing fancy with forging, so I spent several minutes examining the blades and was impressed with how well they were made. The staff informed us that the knife makers have dined in the restaurant a few times. I mean how cool is that? The jungle patio is definitely an experience when you walk in. Take note of the heavy curtain when you walk through. That thing does a great job of blocking sound from the road. Once that curtain shuts, you're in a different world. Overall, 10 out of 10, five stars, definitely an experience to be treasured

Wow, just wow. We had dinner at Enclos last night to celebrate my husband's and my birthday. I can honestly say that it was a very special experience. Absolutely everything was perfect - ambiance, service, food! Some of the dishes were pure genius and some were just very very good, but each dish was a piece of art. The restaurant definitely deserves the two Michelin stars and I would not be surprised if they earn the third one in the near future. We will be back for another special occasion!

Theres always this good balance professionalism with lightheartedness that pair so well for the atmosphere. Because at its core this restaurant is high scale. It definitely has that higher scale vibe but if never comes off as pretentious though. This particular I took my wifey here for our 10th year anniversary together. And we were greeting by a nice little card from the "Fig Family." We ended up trying the Seared Halloumi and I was shocked at how much I liked it. Very light flavors but still enough variety with the crispy spigarello and pine nuts to keep things fun. The lemon never feels too overwhelming. For mains my wife got the Mushroom RisottoI think? Or maybe it was Butternut Squash Risotto? I got the Fig Burger and both were amazing. The only reason I didn't get her Risotto was simply because I already had it at lunch time, but that still didn't stop me from taking a bite. Each rice like grain had a perfect chew and flavor to each bite. Even being the picky person that I am with veggies, I appreciated the veggies addition to the dish. I still think though that the sure winner was my Fig Burger. This burger is everything we wish our local breweries burger was. A harmonic balance between salty and sweet. Im down to get a little crazy with burgers but if it's too sweet, it kinda loses the appeal for me. It takes away too much from the burgers roots. So yea. Go here. Make reservations too. I know for myself I made mine about a month in advance so it's hard to say how hard it is to get a table here. But hopefully it's not too bad. Parking by the way is just street parking. Despite that Ive always been able to get a park on W Spain St right before I pull up to the restaurant. OH! And thanks again Girl and the Fig family!
