    General Chicken (Hot) - 左宗鸡
    Elizabeth A.

I ordered DoorDash. I felt like I was on an episode of is it cake but the one was- is it meat. The sesame chicken was cut into such thin strips I could nearly see through it. Literally some pieces were kinda like the crispies from long John silvers. And many pieces were so tough I could literally not eat it.I know not all of that was meat. The general Tao chicken was in chunks, but the meat was gross, the sauce was greasy. The friend rice was fine. But the meat for the two dishes we ordered was so bad. I mean I want to give it a 2.5 star review. Hardly any broccoli, and the portions were rather small for Chinese food. In styrofoam boxes, the worst for hot food and microplastics. I will not be eating here again, but I wish someone could recommend a good Chinese spot in Reno. Have not found that yet.

Hot and sour soup. Not my favorite, but a 7 out of 10 for sure.

Yes, definitely go here! I was pleasantly surprised and it was my first time visiting. We will be coming back many times for sure. My fianceé told me about the Lemon chicken she tried for her first visit and how much she loved it! It's not her usual to to for the lunch specials, but she highly praises it. I am very happy to say that I do too now. The chicken was cooked perfectly and reminded me of chicken Katsu, light and crisp. It wasn't drenched in a gelatinous over lemony sauce either. Everything was light and refreshing, if you love lemon I suggest asking for a couple more wedges. I can't wait to have it again very soon. The entire time we were there which was about 45 minutes there were hardly any other customers for a Friday I thought it would be much more busy around lunch time. I do not believe this place deserves to be that slow on a Friday at all. I'm seriously going to be dreaming of more scallion pancakes with that sauce! The dining room and bathroom was very large and clean. Also, I really love the pictures of the food along the windows. Pictures are always very helpful. On our way out we picked up almond cookies for $2 per bag (sandwich bag ziplock). When I bit into it I was immediately transported to the Japanese tea garden in San Francisco. I have very fond childhood memories there. We always had almond cookies with our jasmine tea. Well done all! See ya on the next visit

I was very surprised by this place. Not exactly sure what to expect but didnt expect it to become one of my favorite Chinese places in reno.. The place is pretty big.. they have 2 separate rooms good for parties.. its clean and bright. The staff is nice but overly nice or fake which can get annoying so I love it..lol.. they are on top of Refills! They have lunch combos specials that includes a couple appetizers, one main entree, choice from 2 different rices, 2 soups...good prices.. The first time there i got the lemon chicken..its a breaded and fried piece with a lemon sauce and its so good.. The 2nd time I got the sweet and sour chicken. The pieces were good but needed a little less sauce. Ill get it again but ask for light sauce. Im picky about friend rice. I love a good amount of egg and not overly cooked rice and they do it right.. I got so excited with the big pieces of egg.. The best thing that im obsessed with is their scallion pancakes and the dipping sauce.. something that has to be tasted..

    Chicken and broccoli.

My husband ordered the General's Chicken, which was very good - not the overly breaded kind you normally get at most places. Good flavor, and great texture. I had the Chicken Broccoli, which was nice, but it could have used more flavor so I added a lot of the chili sauce, which gave it the needed punch. I will say, the paper chicken that he adds to each dish is a standout here as are the sesame balls. That bean paste is delicious.

We stopped in for dinner tonight, and I'm so glad we did. Sorry coach, if you're reading this, Chinese food is a guilty pleasure of mine. Big menu and a ton of special dishes featured here. Tonight, we ordered their dinner specials: a beef and broccoli, general's chicken, and a Mongolian beef. Each entrée came with a choice of sweet and sour soup or egg drop soup and accompanied by three appetizers; an egg roll, sesame ball, and a chicken wrap. Omg yes, those bites were all so good! I highly recommend it all! All three entrées had great flavor and would order all three again in a heartbeat. We were too stuffed for ice cream, but we did order boba milk tea less sweet, and it was perfect! Service was just as good as our meal. I believe they were a father son duo. Restaurant had an additional room to the side that was closed off, but where we were seated was perfect, well lit, and clean. Their restrooms were impressive in size, cleanliness, and decor. This small business restored my faith that restaurants still take pride in food and service. We thank you for the great meal and the superb service. You're our new favorite! We look forward to future visits to try some of your featured specials.

I picked up our dinner tonight because your restaurant had great reviews. I must say I was extremely disappointed. Our food was ice cold and my chicken dish was very very dry it had no sauce and absolutely no taste. My husband meal was not hot at all like you advertised. I'm sorry to say you will not be getting a good review. I hate to say Panda Express would of been better and cheaper

    Hawaiian Fried Rice -

This food is probably the closest thing to 100% pure authentic chinese food I could find in Reno-- Hands down they had everything from the flavor to how fresh the food was made to order. The best thing you can order to see if it's an authentic chinese restaurant is "egg rolls". Wang's Table egg rolls were probably the best I've tasted in Reno and had the perfect texture and taste that left my mouth a little hot when I bit into it. The fried rice was almost perfect, although I believe it was on the saltier side. The egg drop soup was delicious. I ordered "3 Flavors with Hot Garlic Sauce Dinner Special" from their dinner special and it tasted amazing, especially the sauce The restroom and restaurant was very clean and the location is perfect for a mid-day lunch or evening dinner after walking around Midtown. The staff were attentive and had check up on us multiple times throughout my dinner. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to enjoy authentic chinese food!

Look at the oil pouring off...horrible

Sadness and regret is what I can say about Wang's. Nothing like when it first opened. My wife ordered our normal go-to dinner items. And I can't say anything good about the dishes. That is rare in itself, as we like to search for something that is redeeming...but this is obviously day old, reheated food. What we ordered: Pan-fried potstickers 1/2 crispy Duck Walnut shrimp Vegetable Delight Combination fried rice Combination chow mein 1. CrispyDuck. Was not crispy. We had to put it in the oven to crisp it some as the skin was chewy. It was obvious the duck was Pre-cooked, frozen and then just dipped in the deep fryer. No spices or flavor. Chewy like a 3!day old frozen duck. 2. Walnut shrimp. White gooey batter? Caked on the shrimp it was literally mush on shrimp. Again rubbery shrimp...like it was cooked a few hours ago, and heated in the microwave. 3. Fired Rice and chow mien. It you look at the noodles, they are soaked in oil. The oil is just running off. The meat in these was old and stale also. Just like pre-cooked and frozen? Then heated when cooking. 4. Pan-fried dumplings. More like oil soaked, barely browned dumpling. Doughy, chewy outside, very hard ground meat inside. Not fresh, not good. The list goes on. I am familiar with storing cooked food in the fridge and then re-heating it. The texture of meat changes...the veggies don't have that crispness. I don't pay for re-heated, day old food.

I decided to give this place another shot. We were all starving and they are one that delivers At that moment of desperation I figured how bad could it be twice?! Wrong it was really bad once again...The lemon chicken was extremely dry and no extra sauce ( most places give some sauce) The Mongolian Beef was just okay. The pork fried rice was not good pretty bland in fact. The egg rolls and pot stickers I didn't even eat. My poor husband and out houseguest had to eat this. This was so embarrassing especially since I had a guest. We all had had far to much to drink to drive anywhere but what a big disappointment once again. AND $86.. Major Ouch Factor!

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. My favorite three were the ahi tuna, the black cod and the brilliant asian/french mash up of red Bean Creme Brulee. I also need to mention, I loved the lamb tenderloin. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

They have a great lunch special with plenty of options which is what I'm usually there for, but outside the lunch special I love the beef chow fun with black bean sauce. Tried the chow fun at other places in town but this is still my favorite by far. The potstickers are very good and packed with meat but a bit pricey. Overall a very strong recommendation, anyone easily recommend the lunch special for anyone's first visit. Also, honorable mention to the hot and sour soup. It's always great and I bought a ton of it to get me through a few days when I got a wisdom tooth taken out :v)

My wife knows how much I love Chinese food, so when she came across a TikTok review of Palais De…read moreJade, she asked if I had ever been. I hadn't, but I had definitely heard of it. We decided to make it our next date night spot. We went on a Friday around 5:30 and it wasn't very crowded yet. They asked if we preferred a table or a booth, and we went with a booth near the front. The restaurant itself is really nice, but I'll say the booth felt a little tight. Next time, we'll probably go with a table for a bit more space. The service was top notch. The staff was incredibly attentive, and our drinks were constantly refilled. Our glasses were never empty, which always stands out. About 15 minutes after we sat down, the place filled up fast. It seemed like most people coming in had reservations, so I'd definitely recommend making one if you're planning to go after 6 pm. We decided on the Shanghai Dinner. I ordered the sweet and sour pork, and my wife got the sweet and sour chicken. I was tempted by the cashew chicken and kung pao chicken, but we'll save those for next time. The appetizers were amazing. The meal comes with spring rolls, crab rangoon, paper wrapped chicken, and honey glazed BBQ spareribs. Everything was delicious. My wife loved the paper wrapped chicken, and for me, the ribs were the standout. They were tender with just the right hint of sweetness. Honestly, I could've eaten a full plate of just those and been happy. For sides, I had the egg flower soup, which was really flavorful, and my wife had the salad. She could not stop talking about how good the dressing was. Both the sweet and sour pork and chicken were great. The sauce had that perfect tangy, slightly sweet flavor. That said, next time we probably won't order the same sauce for both dishes. I think pairing something like sweet and sour with kung pao would give a better balance with a little heat to cut through the sweetness. Overall, this place is a winner. Great food, solid portions, and the price is very reasonable at about $33 per person for the Shanghai Dinner. My wife enjoyed everything so much that after seeing another table order the duck, she's already talking about coming back to try it. I've been trying to get her to try duck for a while, so I'm looking forward to that next visit. We'll definitely be back.
