Terrible staff. Some are just outright rude and ignore questions from customers. Terrible experience going inside. Curbside pick up is okay.

Here are the reasons why I don't like this Walmart: - Unfriendly personal with minimum knowledge about merchandise and no desire to help whatsoever. The other day I saw a lady ask a floor employee in the home improvement department where the masking tape was. The employee asked in very poor English for a picture of masking tape because she had no clue what masking tape was. -Everything is behind glass and it takes so long to get what I need. Waiting time is usually 15+ minutes to get something from behind the glass. Alcohol (from behind the glass )check out is only at one register and it takes forever. -Separate check out for beauty - I decided to switch to the online orders and store pick up. I waited over 20 min yesterday to receive my order with several more customers because there was nobody at the pick up place. After I requested to speak with the floor manager I was pointed to a lady who kept telling me to wait until someone showed up. When another lady showed up they started arguing with each other in front of the customers. At that point I gave up on getting my order and requested for it to be cancelled. I was told that it'll be cancelled as soon as the second lady will get an access to her computer at the back of the store. It was never cancelled and it shows on my Walmart account as received. After that purchase, which I made on the Walmart app, unauthorized transactions started appearing on my credit card that I used. No more online orders for me. - Another thing that I dislike is the security that Walmart hired. I don't mind the same type of check point like at Costco but for some reason the guys they hire make me uncomfortable and they don't really check your receipt like Costco does. That makes me wonder- what's the purpose of the security - just visual intimidation in order to prevent theft at the store? I hate leaving negative reviews, but can the kids who work in curbside make sure that the order is correct before loading it? I had an order this morning and the boy who loaded my car missed four pretty large items out of my order. I didn't notice until I was putting everything away at my home in Spring Valley (too far to just turn around). Now I have to go through obstacles to get my money back. A while pain in the butt. If you do curbside, check your bags before you leave cause these kids don't care about their job, and when you call to get the problem resolved they act like YOU did something shady. Super annoyed. This Walmart has it all, from a McDonald's to $20 engagement rings to photo printing to bathing suits to underwear to shoes to Go Pros. Great place to go if you're running short on time & need to cross off a bunch of things on your shopping list. CONS: Watch out for lots of children running around, new parents with screaming babies, rude people, and possibly getting lost. There's been a number of instances where I've seen or personally experienced a less than pleasant attitude at checkout. I would recommend, but advise you go to self checkout or order pick-up. My review is specifically about their grocery pickup service. I love the convenience of shopping online and feel pretty confident when they may be out of stock of something and are able to give a comparable item. It's even better when they give the lower price! I feel a lot safer shopping via this method instead of going into actual grocery stores and appreciate the workers that are there working hard everyday. Pulling those groceries on those small baskets don't look easy, especially on hot days, so hopefully they come up with a better system eventually. I have yet to come across any employee that has brought out my groceries to be anything but super friendly! They can't accept tips but I know they appreciate it when you leave some positive feedback about them when you get a survey about your experience from Walmart. read more

First the positives: they had Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer in stock, which is great. However the normal inconveniences of shopping at Walmart (indifferent customer service, poorly informed employees, aisles blocked with merchandise) are unforgivable during the current pandemic. It started when I entered the store. I asked the employee seated at the entrance if the carts there had been cleaned. She said she didn't know. Not 'let me find out for you' or 'let's clean one off for you'. So I took one of the carts and went to the hand sanitizer dispenser near the entrance. It was empty. Then I went to take what I thought was a sanitizing wipe that I saw there, but it was just a dispenser of dry paper towels- not too helpful. I could have left at that point, but I needed to buy hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes!!! So I went inside and told an employee that the sanitizer dispenser at the door was empty and she said yes, they're aware of that. I was eventually able to find most of what I needed and a couple of employees were helpful during my visit. One needs to be realistic when shopping at Walmart--there will be inconveniences and frustrations. But during a pandemic, we're talking about potentially life and death problems here. At the very least, there's a degree of stress inflicted on customers that could be avoided with better hiring practices, employee training and preparation by store management. read more

Shopping here is an atrocious experience. From the very start when you try to find nonexistent parking to when you leave and have to submit to a "receipt check", there are inefficiencies at almost every step of the way. You are slowed down at every step. It seemed to start with their beefing up of "security" in the last couple years, but it got out of hand and became a hindrance rather than actual security. (Those parking lot and aisle cameras are just for show, they do absolutely nothing.) A typical shopping experience involves weaving around the awful parking lot, waiting for cabinet unlocks, standing in line forever (emphasis on forever), and having to wait to be "checked". The best part of this Walmart isn't even the Walmart. Its the McDonalds inside. What you save in pennies here you pay an order of magnitude more with your time, sanity, and dignity. Just shop at Costco, Target, or online. read more

Michael in electronics was being helpful and helping us when MELINDA rudely interrupted with "what the hell is all this" and she points to a pile that he was working on when we had asked him for help. Which was rude and unprofessional on her part. He replied with " I've been working on it Melinda" and she said " why don't you come talk to me when you're done with your customer." I went this morning to turn in my propane tank for a new one. I was informed that they do not provide the tanks but it is vendo out. I was informed to go outside where the tanks are locked and using my credit card, receive another tank. I then took my basket and tank to the area and places my credit card in the machine. A message showed that the system was not working. I then rolled my basket and tank back in the store.I told the clerk what happened and she told me to call the number on the machine. Walmart's deliver service is horrible! My last 3 orders have been screwed up. 1st order they didn't even show up then customer service said it would be delivered the next morning and again they didn't show and then canceled my order. The 2nd order, they tried to deliver the wrong order and then canceled my order. This 3rd time, i was missing 1/3 of my order. Customer service is horrendous and can't do anything but apologize and cancel your order and give you a phone number which never gets answered. I searched for a corporate customer service number and then received an email from a manager (?) at the Poway store, Sherin Sonny, with a phone number to call her but she is never available. I have left her multiple voicemails over the past couple of weeks but she never calls back and now whenever I call I am sent straight to voicemail. I have wasted countless hours and waited around for multiple days for nothing but more frustration. I'm taking my business elsewhere and advise you to do the same. read more

Awful customer service from an online order pick up. My order was supposed to arrive on Wednesday and I got a notice it was "delayed" Wednesday night. As of Friday it was still "delayed" so I attempted to call the store. It took me calling 3 times to even get the phone answered. I was told by an unapologetic employee that my order was "on a pallet at the store somewhere" and that they had no idea when it would be available. I was then transferred to another line without notice and listened to the phone ring for 7 minutes before giving up. I then called Walmart.com and was helped by a nice gentleman who discovered that my purchase had been "lost in the store" and that I wouldn't be able to pick it up. Why is it that each source told me two different things? I now have to wait another week for my delivery. No apologies from the Poway store, no discount or restitution for the mess up on their part. Who knows If I'll ever actually get my order. I thought a huge corporate store could be better to their customers, how disappointing. read more

It's nicer, cleaner, and more organized than other Walmart locations I've gone to. However, the service here is super slow and very frustrating. I'm not all about being in a rush or go-go-go, but waiting in line to buy groceries for literally almost a whole hour is beyond ridiculous. At peak hours, all they have is one register open. There's only one cashier ringing while there are useless employees in yellow vests standing around just talking to each other. I was impressed with this place the first couple months. Now, we'll just stick with the other locations we used to frequent even if it takes an extra drive. read more

When I first went to this Walmart last year, I really disliked it. But after the remodel was done and everything settled in, I got used to it. The last three or four times I have bought Oscar Meyer prepackaged meat from this place I open it up and it's rotten. My experience at this wal-Mart is so-so every time. They do carry many items since it's a super-center, but never cared for the food items. Parking lot is always filled, so expect to walk a bit. What I'm not too satisfied with each time are the lines they open for ringing customers up. With such a big store with lots of customers, they'd have 2-3 lines running, with at least 6-10 customers in line. read more

It's a Walmart so you know it's going to suck, lets just be honest here folks. I don't go to Walmart to get good customer service, I don't go there for super high quality items; I go because it's cheaper. (or in my case because I didn't spend enough for free shipping on the website & Target didn't have the item I wanted) This location is probably the best one in SD I've been to. The parking lot is larger (although still insane), but I don't recommend parking near the shopping carts. I've only been here 3 times and I've seen 4 cars get hit with shopping carts. The door greeters aren't miserable here, always a plus, although you make up for that misery if you go to customer service. They have this bizarre rope area for returns that is difficult to move a cart around. The actual return area is tiny so you barely have room. The line is usually to the main doors. To top that off the returns folks are rude and after working at a Walmart myself for a few years I understand why. The store itself is standard. Clothing area is insane, products are decently stocked but still need to check dates on food so you don't buy expired items. (like the expired yogurt I almost got) I agree with Gregg though, checkouts are stupid. LONG LOOONNNGGG lines. The last time I was there I was in line for 2 customers, a lady put her closed sign up and told the rest of us to leave. For those that don't know, that is against WM policy. All that being said I'm dumbing down the ratings and giving it a 3/5 based on Walmart standards. If I was comparing this place to a Target or another large retailer it would be a 1.5/5. read more

You could check the balance and see that there was money on it, but they refused to take the gift card as their computer couldn't scan it. Giving one star review due to the unprofessionalism and rudeness of a "team lead" associate. Went in to make a return with a friend and was met with associates who either didn't know what they were doing or who were unwilling to be any sort of help. David who is a "team lead" only escalated our frustration with our return by giving us attitude and a snarky tone when answering why we couldn't return our item. He offered no further assistance to our situation and told us that it's up to the store's discretion, that he's not accepting the return and walked away. Thankfully we were met with Juliet, another team lead, out on the sales floor who immediately listened and escalated our situation to coach Amber and we were able to make our return with David who turned us away the first time around. As a former retail store manager of 6 years, I was disappointed in the attitude and tone of voice we were given by David at the customer service counter and his lack of wanting to help us, especially from someone who is in a leadership position. I do not think David lived up to Walmarts 4 core values of respect, service, excellence, and integrity during this interaction and needs further training on how to handle customers properly without him being the reason for customer escalation. I came to Walmart because I had a $20 gift card my boss gave me when she retired. I normally don't shop at Walmart. Competitor is Target. I lean more to Target but anyway.... I actually purchased some items and went over $20 which I only owed a difference of $1.30. I got my self a pink shirt with flower design on it, a pink sweater for my daughter, socks and a bottle of water. Not bad. Most items were on sale. I tried to compare prices and Walmart is a little bit cheaper than some items I see at Target. This location was huge and had a grocery section. Plenty of space to maneuver and get around. This location also has a self checkout which makes lines go a little faster. This place is ok. read more
