Store is always stocked well when I shop. Aisles are clean and roomy. There is always a great selection of women athletic apparel is always great. One of the nicer employees is the tall, African-American gentleman who works self checkout at the grocery side of the store. He is always super courteous and kind. Lots of arts and crafts items as well. My issue today is that I am returning 3 items before Christmas and the Customer Service Desk is PACKED! There are only 2 of 4 registers open. The CS Manager is not helping on returns and sort of being pulled everywhere to help with keying in the approvals. See the long line of 8 customers in my pics. read more

This review's for the home delivery service only. My patience is running thin with this business, and it's starting to feel scammish. Walmart+ subscriber. Home delivery order 1: express home delivery order (3 hours or less. The order was never delivered, even though the app is said it was. The driver wouldn't respond to my chats either. I called the store --- it unfortunately took three imbeciles and two callbacks before I got to someone (shift leader) who had some common sense. She told me the express home delivery orders are handled by third-party drivers and it's not uncommon that this problem occurs. Great. If a business is providing a premium service, yet doesn't address the issue, how is that negligence? I eventually had to call the main customer service line (Philippines call center) to get things sorted it out -- the agent there gave me refund. Home delivery order 2: I ordered 10 items -- they arrived in 5 bags. Five. (One bag had four items). Come the F on! Everything could have fit easily in two bags. It's environmentally wasteful and I got CHARGED for all. This isn't the first time this has happened. I've filed a complaint with the CA Dept of Consumer Affairs, and the EPA. I wonder how many others this grift is happening to also -- could be grounds for Class Action. read more

Today I (an Asian-American female) checked out at the cashier named Brian (Mr.), and he showed the same racism attitude toward me again. When I asked for the devide stick, he throwed it on the table without even look at me. When he finished scan each of my items he throwed them on the table; I just thought maybe he has a hard day so I didn't say anything. BUT then the customer before me (a caucasian lady) said she lost the receipt, he immediately helped looking for her reciept, while I am standing there waiting for my reciept, which was already printed out. I waited until he found the other customer's reciept and said "execuse me could you give me the receipt?". He yanked the receipt and when I reached out to take the receipt he throwed it down on the table and we stood closer than an arm reach. I was so upset I cried and walked out of the store. My husband is away from home on the NAVY order to provide services to this country and so sad to see Poway still has so many of this type of blind racism residents. Does people like Mr. Brain even know that there have been many great scientific and military contributions to the US GOVT done by other race rather than just white? Just rudely tell me without telling me where something is located. I went as far as using the website and nothing is in the correct isle as stated online. I just had a great interaction with Kassandra at this Walmart's customer service counter. I was returning an item that I bought online and was dreading long lines and overworked associates but was pleasantly surprised. Kassandra was competent and super friendly. This is one is the biggest Walmarts I've been to. I think it seems so huge because it's all on one floor. They have literally anything and everything you could possibly need. Some of the pricing is much like anywhere else but there are some good deals to be had. read more

Really rude employees. Almost everyone over 40 is so mean here! I say this because the people closer to my age ( early 20's) are usually very very nice. Debra from general management probably makes kids cry. You can't ask her a question without aggravating her. The checkers always seem sad to be at work, which is understandable, but I can't figure out why they have to be rude. Lakrista or lakisha is a terrible cashier. She is extremely unpleasant, rude, and disrespectful. I was verbally harassed by her. Her performance needs to be reviewed immediately. I know this has happened on multiple occasions after speaking with other customers who witnessed this outburst. At the very least she needs to receive some training in customer service. Been shopping here for 20+ years and the clientele- believe it or not- has gone wayyy down hill. Beware of each item you buy. I saw two employees fulfilling orders on the laundry aisle completely ignoring a customer stealing. And not just stealing from Walmart but pouring laundry detergent from one bottle to another bottle to fill it to the top. rendering the other bottle almost empty, for someone else to get ripped off with. Last night I purchased a set of 20 crayola markers for my kids after much deliberation (I'm on an extremely tight budget) and when we got home and opened the box- both 10 packs were gone and someone had shoved a 10 pack of the "tropical" colors in the 20 pack box. What a waste of money. Security needs to be beefed up and certain people need to be excluded from entering the store. And on that note- the vendors hounding you in front of the store doors are so pushy. Feels like a third world country and you're about to get scammed. Absolutely hate it. I went shopping this evening in Walmart. I found Cirkul pruducts in the clearance section of the store on the wall. The cartridges and the other tops, and of course the starter set as well. I went to the register to purchase one starter set and two of the grape and two of the tangerine flavor cartridges. When I got upnthe the register I was told the cartridges were marked down but the kit was not. I asked to see a manager and instead of calling them over for me, I was told I could go to the service desk. I spoke with a nice manager, Perla, and she checked with someone who told us that they were not on clearance and it must be an error. I walked over and showed Perla all the inventory that was on the shelf and that only a few of the Cirkul items had the yellow clearance tags on them, a few of the upgraded lids and a few of the cartridges. I asked if there was anything that could be done, and was told sorry. Perla took a picture as well so whoever she was texting could see this and have someone move all the starter kits. All of my time spent for your store benefit. I am recovering from diabetes and I am very limited in what I eat and drink, so this was something of a treat for me since I drink over a gallon of water a day a work. Folks, when a huge company like Wal Mart lobbies to build in your neighborhood with the promise of bringing new jobs- say no. Walmart never has enough staffing to help customers. I am currently calling to ask if they have a product, listening to the phone ring unanswered (oh it just hung up on me after it rang for 5 solid minutes). Who are they hiring from the neighborhood? Who are they hiring if only one out of 20 registers are open? Who are they hiring if they don't have enough people available for someone to answer the phone?? Who are they hiring if a customer has to search high and low for a staff member to help them in the store?? This has been happening long before March 2020. They ruin small businesses who had A+ customer service, and obviously aren't hiring enough staff. read more

Waited 15 minutes for a "manager" who said he couldn't do anything about it. He did not offer his name. He did not offer any solution. I went in to the Walmart in Poway the other night to use my ebt thru the Walmart site kinda like tap and pay but you don't tap you just pay with your ebt card that is added to the list of different payment options on their site. After swiping every item I had I go to pay and it wouldn't go thru. This worker name perla forgive me if I'm spelling it wrong went above and beyond trying to help me figure out how to try and make it work. I lost my ebt card and I won't be able to get another one till after the holidays so I figured that the stores that advertise that you can use your ebt through Walmart , door dash , and instacart would be pretty easy, WRONG!! Sick and tired of this store. Why do I keep coming here, despite your online inventory never being right? The worst part out of all of that is, if you don't have what I'm shopping for, I'm not buying anything, given I had to drive out all this way. Five stars for the bakery staff at the Poway Walmart. They put together a cake on short notice and saved my brother's wedding day! Because of covid, the ceremony was booked last minute at the San Diego Marriage Hut and the Walmart staff made a perfectly frosted, plain white cake in less than 2 hours. The cake itself was delicious (we opted for one layer of chocolate, one layer of vanilla) and whipped cream icing was nice and light. We decorated the cake with fresh flowers to match the bride's bouquet, so it was perfect for photos. The price was great too, less than $15 including tax. read more

If I could give negative numbers I would! I consider my Sunday visits an adventure to see how many dogs or cats I can count in a cart and/or the store that is NOT a LEGIT service animal! Today we saw one cat in a basket and another dog sitting in a dog bed IN the cart! When I asked to speak to a manager she "knew of the cat and there is a "sign" posted at the front of both store doors! I proceeded to tell her that it's obvious the store does nothing about it as this is a weekly occurrence ! I also told her I would be reporting to the ADA and the Health Department. I am absolutely disgusted!!!! They need to be trained on how to approach people who have FAKE service animals and know that an ESA (Emotional Support animal). If you don't know the law...READ it!!!! A company can NOW ask what service does that SA provide for you! AND in San Diego IF your dog is a legit SA their license would state "California Assistance Animal"!!!!!! My first time at this store and one of my first times at a Walmart Superstore. I was looking for something in particular and couldn't find at other grocery stores but found it online here at the Walmart Superstore. They aren't close by so I had to drive a little out of my way, but it was worth it for what I wanted. They are located off a major roadway and plenty of parking. I had no real idea how large the store was until I walked in. I found the item I was looking for, but as I walked around, I found a few other items I wanted and the prices are so good. But the really good part was I need some regular household items and was able to go shopping for them after picking up the grocery items. I really think this is the first time I've been to a store that combines the two and it was super convenient. The people working here are very courteous and without being obtrusive. And they have a very nice self-checkout lane if you just want to do it yourself. And, although there is a bag surcharge, they leave the bags out for you to pack your goods rather than having to ask for them like some other places. I don't live near a Walmart Superstore, but given this experience it was certainly worth it and I'll be back. read more

Date of visit: November 29, 2018 I was looking for a Peanuts Santa hat that was for the upcoming Yelp Elite Event that I was going to be attending, and while I had found it at a very affordable price online at Walmart, the only one that had it at stock for in-store pickup was at the Walmart Supercenter off of Poway Road. After I'd placed my order and gotten the confirmation email that it was ready for pickup the following day, off to Poway to pick it up after work! While traffic wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, nor was parking an issue (then again, I did go during a weeknight), what surprised me was that I had to go check in at their in-store kiosk first with the confirmation number, then wait to get called to pick up my item. I guess I was expecting not too long a wait inside, but seeing how it took about ten minutes for a team member to get the Santa hat - after checking in, mind you - maybe I'm used to better customer service at my usual mall haunts. Since I was in the store, I figured I'd do some shopping in the interim... while this Supercenter is certainly huge, a lot of the merchandise needed to be restocked. I did find the long-sleeved pullover I was planning to get, and the chimichanga and corn dog from the grab & go hot snack section made for a quick snack on the drive back to my place. 3.5 stars overall, and if anything, I'll probably stick to the Walmart closer to me, even though it's not a Supercenter. read more

Walmart definitely makes it extremely convenient. usually after I placed my order it takes about a 2 day waiting period which is totally fine. The nice thing is that you can actually edit your cart unlike some other websites I have found the prices to be extremely reasonable and sometimes much cheaper than other be grocery stores. Staff is friendly but overworked. Walmart is too cheap to hire more employees. They expect everyone to self-checkout. I bought several pieces of fabric that didn't have a code for scanning, had to wait for over 30 min for an employee to cut the fabric. The gal who finally assisted was very helpful and said she just clocked in, and there was no other employee available before her. There was only 2 checkout lines manned by a live person, and they were long. It was a good thing I didn't have to return any purchase, as the Customer Service return line was even much longer. Shame on multi-billion dollars corporation to cut back on labor just save a few $ at the expense of customer service. read more
