Newer Ross in the shopping center with Trader Joe's, HomeGoods, etc. A smaller size store than a lot of them, but you can sometimes find things here because they're not as busy. This store seems to be one of the messier ones as well, not sure if they're usually understaffed. But it's still easy enough to shop the sections. Not a lot of extra parking available, because so many stores are crammed in this smallish shopping center. HomeGoods are Trader Joe's the main stores in popularity. read more

Of all the discount style clothing/home goods stores Ross is my least favorite and, in my opinion, the lowest quality. This location really exemplifies that. It is incredibly small, the stock is some of the most horrendous I've ever seen (cheap clothes that are objectively ugly. Completely see-through mesh drawstring pants that are printed to have jean pockets covering every inch - who is wearing this??), and it's just a tad run-down in general. I come here during my "discount store tour" shopping days because it's right next to Home Goods so why not but have yet to make a single purchase. The store is grimy and the workers are nice from the limited interactions I've had so I went with 2 stores. The merchandise is just so sparse and so BAD it's not worth coming here. read more

I had a very jarring experience with an employee who told me "you can get out" tonight. I usually am not one to make these kinds of complaints. But I felt threatened and unsafe. She was very passionate and aggressive.. I believe her name was Mirabelle. She's older and has a gray bob. This was all over me asking for a 10% discount on a pair of suede shoes that were stained. She told me people like me always ask for discounts.. which honestly I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.. considering I am a Latin American 25 year old girl of color. But that comment left me shocked and I couldn't just go without saying anything because this experience was so out of the blue. I asked her what the normal policy is behind stained items and she kept repeating that if it's not broken she will not discount it. I remained respectful and she ultimately gave me the 10% discount but followed that up by saying I will not be getting another discount from her store ever again. It was near closing time so she followed me out and slammed the doors behind me. I feel this needed to be said on here.. in hopes her behavior is assessed because I would be sad if anyone else experiences the same situation. And if I am being honest I have a bit of anxiety now returning to my local Ross, which I have been coming to for years.. FIRST: once you walk in you are usually greeted by some lady saying "welcome to Ross!" SECOND: you will see a variety of cheap clothes! There may be some good deals. THIRD: there may potentially be a long wait at the line. FOURTH: the restrooms are usually out of order. FIFTH: customer service is like a gamble here. You might get someone who is more intelligent than another. I happened to get the rudest cashier of all. After waiting in line for about 20 minutes, I had to wait at the cashier for her to go back and forth picking up the phone. Also, she doesn't even greet you. Makes you wait at the cashier even longer while she plays around with the security holders. Not only that, she also made up a price on a pair of shoes that had no price on it. This store has a lot of potential. They have clothing, housewares, decor, pet supplies, home goods, beauty, jewelry, snacks and more. The selection is limited, but the price is right. The toys are made on the cheaper side, I would check safety before purchasing. There are a lot of shoes, boots, sneakers etc. less expensive brands. It is the smallest Ross store I ever seen, everything was just compact, each of the section inside the store was just barely to nothing, men shoes were pretty empty, almost gone; backpacks and suitcases might be the most stocked section, clothings were slim from men to women to kids, toys still look nice and organized, everything else I mean if you're looking for specifics items, you have to dig very hard, a lot of items were buried under, they have stuffs left from last year and still available in store, compared to other locations which would be gone by now, they're located in Poway area, a little further drive in the back road of the freeway, that explained everything, I still managed to spent about $90 total of my purchase because they have a lot of items my size. I go to this Ross often but it is a lot smaller then most Ross' which is weird but they always have something I find of course. Ross is like my second home, I just don't buy my kids clothes there because they always have a rip or a button is missing or something odd is wrong with the outfits there. read more

I walked in and decided to shop just when they opened. I was greeted right away and was very pleased on how friendly this store was...initially. What a dip in customer service it took when I started to check out. Again, I came in right when they opened so NOT busy at all. I get it, they are putting away items but figure they must prioritize a customer that is about to purchase a few items. I mean, isn't that what keeps a business going? Paying customers. Well the service person in the register, Estefani I believe is what said in her named tag, was fixing hangers behind the register. I thought, she looked at me and must be helping me soon. Well she decided to take her time to continue fixing her hangers. When she finally came to checked me out, DID NOT say a word. I thought, "ok? Maybe a bad day" So I decided to ask "How are you doing?" on which she angrily replied "fine.." no eye contact. I said, "I'm sorry busy day, already. Ha?" Which she replied, "I guess". I don't get it? Why put such a miserable person in your register? Such an awful ending to what started a great customer service. This Ross tends to have a good selection of hard pricey shoes for cheap. I came here a few times a few years back and found a pair of Nike Air Force 1s for only $39.99 and it wasn't imperfect or irregular like most of the items sold here. If you're looking for clothes, accessories for your home or even automotive items, this is the place to be. The store is organized and the layout is better than most Ross Stores that I've been to. It really is a hit or miss. I only come here when my wife wants to go to Home Goods. This place isn't as busy as other locations but parking is tight as it shares a lot with the Home Goods, Stein Mart and other establishments. Cleaner Ross than most, I can never find shoes that work for me at any Ross and this one is no exception. If you have a size 10 or lower shoe you will be fine,many to choose from. They do have some decent cologne choices for the fragrance heads in Poway but not the cheapest for being a discount store. This location is great for shirt choices and pants for men, and the staff is the nicest Ross staff I have met. read more

I like this Ross location even though it's fairly far. We happened to drive by it. This store is brand new. As I walked in, I was greeted hi by the security that stands near the door. I see racks and racks of clothes including jeans and pants. I bought some cute red skinny pants. I wanted to buy more jeans but I had to control myself when it comes to shopping here. I can do major damage. I saw brand name jackets that were a descent price. My daughter found some toys as usual. I ended up buying her the toy she wanted. I'm a big fan of Ross and love their clothes. Ever since I lost weight, I have been buying new jeans and clothes. They also sell housewares, shoes, kids and men's clothing. Love how affordable the items are here. They also carry women's bags. I could shop here for hours but we went venturing and finding new places. I will definitely come back here if I'm in the area. I stopped in recently, to look for new summer sandals. I was surprised by the great choices they had! (and you can't beat the prices!) I found a shoe I really liked, but couldn't find the mate! I searched long enough, and gave up! I was looking through the shirts, and came across a salesperson named Amy. I showed her the lone shoe, and expressed my frustration on not finding its mate! She took the shoe from me, and told me she would go look for it! I was very impressed with her courtesy because it seems to be getting less and less these days... She even did it joyfully! Yay Amy!! She came back within a few minutes holding the other shoe! I was so grateful to her, so I want to express my thanks to her. She was my hero that day! The store has improved a lot since I was there last. It seemed very clean, and picked up. There was a much better selection, and I found two pairs of new sandals, and the third pair too, thanks to Amy!! I also found two new shirts! The owner of this Ross store, really needs to hire a secret shopper, to know just how horrible the cashiers and the people working there are. I usually find a quick bargain there, but the cashiers are animals. One time I had this cashier take the clothes and deliberately " crumble the clothes and stuff them in the bag. It all seemed very intentional. Another time a cashier took my money and gave me the wrong change by $5. I got an oh yes, and then she rudely threw the money at me. Went to buy my young daughter a few things and she ended up picking out a little unicorn purse, got a few other things also but as we got home we noticed that they left the security tag on the purse that was only 8 dollars. When we went back about an hour later the cashier was super rude about taking the thing off even though we had our receipt! Didn't even apologize for their mistake, instead made it seem like it was our fault. Won't go back to this location. I came into the store over the weekend I had my baby it is baby carrier I was told I cannot put him in the cart I said OK and I carried him around the store also pushing the cart with a lot of items I was purchasing when I got to check out I was told that you cannot take the carts to the car that I would have to purchase bags which I thought was kind of strange considering these were extra large items I asked if somebody could help me to the car I was told no and that I could take my baby to the car first and come back and get my items why in the world when I leave an infant in the car that is the most absurd thing I've heard it all of my life because of this level of poor customer service not only will I never shop there again or any of the stores affiliated with Ross but I will be writing a letter to corporate because that's really really wrong read more

Apparently I came at the time that they were only taking returns and exchanges because they only pulled people from that line. Even though they came after me. FINALLY the manager who was walking around the front opened a register. No apology for the wait. I asked if she was the manager and she said yes. I told her the customer service was BS! There's a new Ross in town! And it's in Poway next to HomeGoods. What could be better, right? It's located in a great shopping center and there is plenty of parking. And by parking I don't mean crappy compact only spaces. These are legit parking spaces for a wide Ross load. The store itself is on the smaller side for a Ross, but they've got a great selection per the usual. Being that this review is from opening day, the store is clean and the staff is friendly. Justice rang me up and the only reason I'm giving four instead of five stars is because of the transaction process. Justice was wonderful and it's no reflection on her. I don't know if it's being a new store or what the issue was, but my credit card and the guy next to me's card both got denied. I immediately got an alert from my bank about fraud prevention. Long story short, I could only check out with a debit card. Justice's manager tried to blame me for why my card wouldn't work, but it was obviously the credit card system there. Hopefully they get that straightened out ASAP. read more

I will say the store was a typical Ross,they have some good stuff and some junk. When we were checking out, it wasn't clear where the check out was. So we proceeded to go where we saw a sign that said ,"wait here for next available cashier." There was also a sign that said, "returns only" a few steps back. So it wasn't clear. We got in line, where we thought the line was, then the rude Yvonne said, "no, that's not the line. You need to go to the end of the line." But she kept going and was very rude and confrontational!! Have you ever been shopping with a friend and lost all track of time? That's what happened to us! We had the best shopping experience eVer! From the time Sam greeted us with a big smile and warmest welcome, to the time we checked out, it was an adventure in shopping. My Sister and I found such a variety of merchandise to browse through from clothes to home goods. Yvonne assisted with my return I brought in with a courteous "thank you for waiting, I'll be right with you." She was as sweet as can be. I may of made a return because of wrong size, but turned my credit into so much more. I found the sizes I needed, color and style that was fun, bright and seasonal.
