When the screen finally cleared, the cashier had already gone too far and there was no prompt for my phone number, so the cashier put it in so I could get my 10% off purchase of $20 or more. In the process, instead of charging me the 4 for $20 price for Curlee's pulled pork, he charged me the regular price. Each box had a $1 coupon, so the final price should have been 16.00 less 10%, or 14.40. Since there is no way to know what you pay until you pay, and get the receipt, I discovered I was charged 18.83. I went to customer service and asked, "Why was I charged $18.83? I bought four boxes, and had $4 worth of coupons, so that makes $16..." But before I could finish, the supervisor, "J----" , snapped back, "I have no idea why you were charged $18.33. Then she started shouting: "I can give you back your money but I don't like your attitude!" I was shocked at how triggered she got , and thought she might have thought I was trying to pull a fast one, so I apologized and offered, " I can go back and get the coupons from the cashier if you need to see them. " "There's no need for that attitude! I bet you don't have very many friends!" she fired back, handing me $2 without even looking at the receipt. I was so taken aback that I completely forgot about the 10% and only could think that she hadn't given me the 33 cents. When I pointed that out, she exploded even more at me. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I expect J----- had a bad day, but that's no reason to take it out on customers! From now on, I will be avoiding the Albertson's on Royal, and giving my business to West 18th where I have always been treated with kindness and respect.

On this trip, we were also trying to keep our everyday costs down while traveling. We're staying in an Airbnb that has a coffee maker and provides basic coffee, but we prefer flavored coffees. From past visits, we knew that US Foods Chef'Store carries an impressive selection of coffee syrups, with far more variety than you'd typically find at a regular grocery store. Rather than spending $5 to $7 each day on coffee while out and about, we planned ahead and stopped in to pick up a bottle of syrup to use during our stay. It turned out to be a simple and cost-effective solution. The store was easy to get in and out of, and the only real challenge was narrowing down our choice from the many different syrup flavors and brands available. Overall, this stop was quick, efficient, and exactly what we needed. If you've never been to a US Foods Chef'Store--whether you're shopping for bulk items, specialty ingredients, or just looking for better value--we definitely recommend checking one out.

It's so weird to me to find just about any parking lot with diagonal parking any longer since that's less efficient parking, but I guess maybe this lot is too old (a grocery has been here for over 60 years) and thus too small to have better parking. It's just annoying getting in and out, and it's tight to drive around, so it's not my favorite. But they have order pick up and that makes it worth a trip.

This is my local store & while it lacks the ultra max options of the ritzier Southside store Catering to upscale hippies (maybe you got less vegan cheese here for instance, or more limited bulk). In general staff is really helpful, & the store is well stocked. During Covid I have been really blown away by the level of assistance the staff is willing to go above and beyond to provide for customers. These people are standing at checkout counters all day in full protective gear and are still pleasant have a sense of humor & are incredibly patient. I have use the pick up service on several occasions and it has gone really pretty well they don't always have everything but that's how it goes right now. I have needed to have people come out to the car and meet me to load things, to take my coupons they have to go back in side to process them and come back out with the receipt -which they have done every time. This takes them at least an extra 10 minutes and they never give me shade. . Also I had a minor complaint about some items that they didn't carry enough of, made a comment in the app and actually received a personal reply. Not only that but I noticed a change in supply which means somebody actually heard me and did something. So I'm here to say thanks Fred Meyer staff, I appreciate you.
