I called earlier and spoke to an employee named Lonnie. I was looking for a balloon. Very specifically one that said happy birthday. You know, the kind of nice metallic ones.
When I spoke to Lonnie and told him what I wanted, he described what they had, told me the price ($1, obviously, but he felt that was pertinent information) and I asked if I could just buy one and he said yes. I asked how late they were open (I figured 9, but it was actually 10) so I learned something. Which worked out well. I had time to watch the Blazer game before rushing down for my balloon.
We got there earlier than I expected, so we had time to wander around the store. I found some cool things. I bought some jar gripper/openers in a 4 pack. I crochet cool borders around these with a matching dish cloth and it makes great gifts for less than $5. I also found a Star Wars reusable shopping bag. This is perfect for my nerd husband. Lol.
When we got to the balloons, I found the one I wanted. Lonnie pointed us to the displays and we found what we wanted. Unfortunately that was the one he didn't have. He volunteered to go look at the stock in the back room for us. I wasn't impatient at all and was happy to wait. He couldn't find that one, so we had to pick another one, which was fine. They had some pretty decent choices.
This isn't a store I frequent often, unless I'm looking for the jar gripper things, really. That's typically the only reason I go there. But I was definitely impressed by the customer service I received tonight from Lonnie as well as the cashier (Sasha?) I didn't catch her name, honestly. It was close to closing time, but both were really sweet and helpful, never impatient at all.
The store itself was clean, neat, and well organized. I'll definitely go back to check it out again. read more
