Always worth a stop. Good rotation of items and a great seasonal section. If you ever need batteries this is the place for it. 20 for $3!!!

Celeste Watch Company

Celeste Watch Company

When I was in Springfield looking for another shop, I stumbled upon Celeste Watch Company. Such…read morebreathtaking art. The woman herself, Celeste, was at the shop when I stopped in and was so warm and welcoming. They have a variety of designs. I especially liked the one with a peacock design, and there was one with some leaves blowing that I was quite taken with. I also saw a beautiful one with a compass rose that was a wooden dial. There was even one with a Sasquatch! They also take commissions and you can send a photo of your pet with which they'll create a watch face. You can't get more unique than that. The watch materials may include wood, mother of pearl, abalone, and so on which makes them really just stunning. I'd love to get one of these sometime because they of course are practical but they're also a beautiful accessory and fashion statement. I was given an Apple Watch that I never actually wanted (it has a couple useful features) and can go many months without wearing or thinking about, but something like this would feel much more practical to me (if for no other reason than having to charge up a watch is just ridiculous to me). I think at some point I'll be back in person or via their website to buy one of their pieces--it's a matter of narrowing it down to which of a few designs I really want.

From the owner: We design and sell original handcrafted watches. We do not buy watches from the public, or service…read moreand resell other brands.

Earth Elements Apothecary & Boutique

Earth Elements Apothecary & Boutique

Downtown Springfield is really going through a revitalization, and Earth Elements is a part of…read morethat. This store is really beautiful with a lot of items that will make your home beautiful. Their fragrance items seem to be a big part of their portfolio, and it's a worthy focus. They have some really nice scents here, ones that I would not have expected to like at all given the combo. For instance, there was one called Strawberry + Violet, and another called Watermelon + Plum that had a nice subtle scent. I don't like violet and would have thought the scents of the second candle would have been too strong and artificial for me, but I ended up buying both. They also have air fresheners that are handmade here, and can be made to have the same scents as the candles. There are a couple of particularly interesting things about the shop. You can come in and make your own candle, as they have a candle bar. I think when she gets there she turns on the crockpot or whatnot to melt the wax and then you can make your candle, so you should contact them if you're interested so you don't come too early before the wax is melted. Similarly, I believe you can make your own air fresheners as well by adding your floral accents and then choosing the scents that you want to add. And even more unique, this shop offers refills of their candles. You can purchase the large candle, and then once it's burned down you can purchase a refill for it. To do this you'd have to practice excellent candle maintenance so that it burned evenly! But I think this is so awesome, and a way of being more environmentally conscious. The owner was friendly and very patient with my questions. I may have sounded like this was the first time I had seen a candle because I was not sure I understood the candle refill thing, and the air freshener option, etc. They also carry items by other local artists, and have home decor items like prints, pillows, reed diffusers, clothing items, and so on. Earth Elements is a must-visit when you're in the area.

The book section is super small and the general household section isn't as extensive as it initially appears. The employees are nice but just kind of there and zoned out sometimes. The prices are higher than they should be and you can probably find everything cheaper at a Vinnie's. The parking lot is big but can be very full and people don't seem to understand how to drive in it. It's easy to get out of if you're turning right onto Main, but good luck turning left.

I haven't visited in a long time, I used to come often when I first moved to Eug-Springfield area. It is located next to the Springfield DMV and there is a bus stop [Bus 11] next to it. It is pretty accessible transportation wise. The entrance is a bit crammed however, since there's a line rope in between the entrance/exit doors and carts. On the right hand side, there are lockers for large bags. I found these super helpful since I had a big bag from a previous store. [Price]: The prices here are relatively reasonable prices for most items. The sale is really great here, 75% off and 50% off on two selected colors. I seriously[!!] love that! I found some nice pieces of clothes being like $2-4/piece. (Sadly, they weren't my particular taste/not what I was looking for. I decided to leave them for someone who could better appreciate them). Most shoes were around $7-12, from what I saw. Unless it was speciality or brand new from a store donation. I scored some blue jeans for $3, since they were 75% off! [Organization]: The layout of the store is very spacious and pretty organized. There are definitely lots of racks! The staff was helpful in directing me in which aisles I needed to be. The books at any Goodwill are barely organized, at least these had nice clear labels of which books were fiction or literature/arts. The clothing racks had clear signs, such as "Women's coats, Women's short sleeve jerseys". The lines to pay when busy, could get a little chaotic, but staff are pretty good in directing which line is open for scanning and paying. Also the rack for Oregon Duck/ similar sports apparel is pretty small. I would suggest going to ones in Eugene for more selection on that [Fitting rooms & Bathroom]: The fitting rooms clothes about 30 mins before closing. There is a bell all the way on the right hand side to call an employee to help assist you into a fitting room. There were small arrow signs pointing to the bell. I found this really funny. The bathroom has a more clear sign and location of the bell to call an employee to unlock the bathroom for customers to use. Overall, I definitely had some good finds from this Goodwill on my most recent visit. Staff were helpful and there were definitely a lot of items to browse through. This Goodwill location is definitely worth at least an hour to browse around. I can't wait to visit again!
