Davis Street wall mart in the automated check out there were two girls on Friday may 5th working who should be the ones to teach the other employees how to treat customers. This store reminds me why I don't like shopping at Walmart. They don't have adequate supply on the shelf and the staff has no interest in dealing with the customer to actually provide service. I don't like to go here; it's dirty, crowded and the employees are rude on a bad day, and unhelpful/disengaged on a good day. I typically don't shop here, but I have relatives who do (not this location). The most recent problem was with a case of baby formula my mother in law sent for my 5 month old. She ordered a case if organic Similac baby formula, as was reflected on the invoice. However, the case contained toddler "Go & Grow" formula instead. While inconvenient, not a huge deal at this point. With case and invoice in hand, I head to the nearest Walmart to make an exchange for the correct product. Upon explaining the situation to the employee, she said that I could not exchange the case, but I could get a refund for the price of the case which I could use to buy a case of the correct product. However, after consulting the computer terminal she told me that I could not return this case, as it had already been returned to another store. So I reply, "Nancy (not her real name), I don't know what your computer is telling you, but you can see that I physically have the case, it has not been returned to another store." Nancy then told me that there was nothing she could do, the item had already been returned to store 306 (or whatever number it was). So I ask where store 306 is located, and she told me she had no idea. She then told me that this was a ".com" problem and that I needed to straighten it out with them online and that there was nothing she could do, not even simply swap the product for the one that was supposed to be delivered. When I asked to speak with a manager, she walked away from the counter and started chatting with fellow customer service employees. At first I thought she was consulting with a manager, or maybe asking where one was or something like that, but after a few minutes she never came back, and it became clear that this was her was of telling me that she was done. I took my case of unusable toddler formula and left feeling nostalgic for a day when customer service employees were helpful, when the customer was always right, when stores like Walmart seemed to care if you ever shopped there again. I understand that there was obviously some sort of SNAFU with the computer system or whatever, but surely there was something that could have been done. This was not my only unpleasant experience here either; every time I receive a Walmart gift card from a friend or relative, I give the store another chance and to memory, I have yet to be pleased with the experience. read more

Ah Walmart this one is the closest in Oakland considering the one near Hegenberger has closed down. So why am i leaving a one star review you may ask? Simply put the store is quite a chaos whenever you enter. The products are unorganized and out of place, You see expired food remains in stock and need i point out, The electronics section has little left to be desired when it comes to Amiibo's. For crying out loud ever heard of something called restock? Because you sure as hell haven't done any of it lately and frankly, I think you never listen to the consumers. If your going to stay in business, At least listen to the people or something. The parking gets crowed as I'm sure lot of people have pointed out when they leave their reviews. Moved here from Reno and going to this Walmart was a rude awakening. In Reno the Walmart associates have a pretty good understanding of the store layout and when a customer asks for help they stay with you until your issue is resolved (to the point where I have to tell them "Just point me in the right direction"). At the Davis location associates had no idea if they carried fresh meat or not (they don't) and the typical response I would get (before I realized it was futile and stopped asking questions) was "I'm new here, I don't know". So either they have astronomical turnover or terrible training (or both!!). You absolutely do not want to go the first week of the month. It reminds me of Black Friday and it's every man (or woman, I'm progressive) for themselves. But even going middle or end of the month it's usually packed with rude, unhappy people (customers & associates), in total disarray with long lines, although the addition of more self-checkout lanes has helped. I usually go through the gardening section which has new self-checkout lanes and it's reduced my checkout time from 20-30 minutes to less than 5. read more

Something I don't do however when I received it you could tell it had been opened not only that they sent EMPTY as well. I came for my first contact lenses ever. From the moment I arrived which was 10 min before the opened, everyone greeted me with a smile. Dr. Henry d. Kim and staff at Davis st. Vision center are awesome. Dr. Kim had me very comfortable during my exam, and explained the entire process to me. His assistants were also very pleasant and engaging. Customer service at electronics was very poor. No urge to assist in helping the customer whatsoever. When asked a question she specifically told us that they don't carry the merchandise. But online it said a different story. When we were searching the product to present to her, she was laughing about her coworker (Dino) carrying a gadget instead of trying to engage with us the customers. We simply left and asked someone else who was not part of the electronics department. He gladly stopped what he was doing to help search the merchandise on his own gadget. What a shame! Don't go to the Walmart on Davis Street! I went there to get a couple of items, they never have enough people to unlock the requested items! It's already ridiculous they have almost every aisle locked up anyway! Had one lady trying to open and close on several aisle. Now, they have a new policy for the items in the beauty station, stating they have to not only take it out for you after requested, but put it in a lock box and take it to the front or they will be reported. This is very inconvenient for people that have several items to get! Who said I'm done? And who said I have 20+ mins to wait for a rep? Oh, the best part is the workers rushing you to choose what you want, if you don't hurry up they will lock it back up and say they will be back. Which, means you have to wait again! You know, I get trying to keep the thieves away but this is extreme! This was my favorite location to shop but after this second incident I'm done! No more Walmart for me! Unbelievable experience, despite the very low 2 star rating and upon glancing around I could probably find several attitudes and personalities to validate. However my initial welcome was less than. By a very roughround the edges greeter who almost chased me out of the store, infatically telling me that the product is not Wal-Marts, refusing to leave because I took 2 buses and a bart ride to get there. I stumbled into a young lady in a yellow vest "Toya" she was heaven sent because she embraced my frustrations and turn me into the happiest man alive for a brief 10 mins. She saved the day for me. Now I can ride 2 buses and a bart across the bay knowing that TRUE COSTOMER service still exist. And perhaps I will visit this store again, Not based on the the whole, but entirely on the whole experience with TOYA. That's all it takes is 1 good or bad to touch the sky or crash an burn. Great prices but horrible, horrible customer service!!!! My husband and I; Went to the electronics dept. to buy a PSP and a video game for my son's b-day. We picked out a game while waiting for someone to unlock the area where the PSPs were at. It took them around 30 mins, we waited patiently Someone finally helped us, She opens the locked area where the PSPs were at and brings it back to the register and rings it up. My husband: Can we get a game too? It is locked up aswell. Female rep: Well, you got to pick one out first. (Rudely) My husband: We already did. Female rep: had side conversations with her co-workers for about 10 mins, completely ignoring us. Then, I wandered off looking at the dvd's while my husband waited on her. 20 mins later with major attitude she storms to the game section and was like; Which one did you want??( In a very rude manner) We told her which one..She grabs it and storms right back to the register. We waited another 20 mins while she has a conversation with her co-workers, completely ignoring us again. She rings it all up talks, talks and talks....then, she slaps the little price deal on top of the cash register, with a bad attitude and didnt say anything...kept going on with her little side conversations. So, I gave her the money, I was extremely pissed. I wanted to walk the hell out of there!! So, while we were waiting on our change, with her still talking, I was getting aggravated by the second. I grabbed my change out of her hand and stormed off to find a manager. She was the rudest costumer serv, rep I have ever met. Her name starts with an R, Rucodel or something, An indian name or last name.. she works in the electronics dept, if you ever encounter that cunt, good luck!!! I reported her to walmarts manager!!
