I didn't even have a Yelp account prior to this interaction, but decided to create an account based solely on my experience with this location; bear with me. After perusing Walmart.com to inquire about potentially upgrading/signing a new 2-year contract for wireless service on an iPhone 5, I decided to call this location, as it is listed as having a Wireless Center with "an even broader selection of the latest smartphones and plans - plus knowledgeable associates". I simply wanted to have a few questions answered. After roughly 20 rings, no lie, someone FINALLY answers the phone, giggling; I have clearly interrupted her conversation. I asked the gremlin on the line (I'm convinced that's what she is, as I have come to find out) if I can be transferred to someone in the Wireless Center in regard to a potential upgrade when I'm interrupted and told *In her ratchet voice* (please Google 'ratchet' of the 'Urban variety', and you will know exactly what I mean) "We don't do that here, we don't upgrade phones and we don't carry the iPhone 5." Excuse me? First, Walmart does carry the iPhone 5, granted, availability tends to vary between stores and online, thus the reason I even bothered to place the call. Was I wrong to think that a Walmart location with a Wireless Center will be the more likely location to carry the latest iPhone? Second, the dot com page clearly states "Offer valid in-store only" and "Available in-stores now" in the item description. Lastly, the description also states "PRICES BASED ON ELIGIBLE UPGRADE OR NEW 2-YEAR CONTRACT", so. . .what is it that you don't do? o_0 When asked how that could be the case when the location is listed on dot com as providing these services as an Authorized Agent of the three major phone companies, not to mention an Authorized Apple Retailer (as listed on the Apple website), the gremlin decided she could no longer be lazy due to my being informed, and instead placed me on hold. ZERO RATING FOR THE LACK OF (TELEPHONE) CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE, which was only slightly rectified by another associate who went on to answer my questions and apologized twice for the rude demeanor of her fellow associate. I was told this location does in fact sell the iPhone 5, however it is currently sold out. Clearly, the gremlin was a combination of rude, lazy and uninformed. Based on my telephone experience and after reading through some of the comments on this page, coupled with the poor rating, I WILL SPARE MYSELF FROM EVER VISITING THIS LOCATION. It's too bad I didn't catch the gremlin's name, or I gladly would have posted it. The call was placed on 12/15/2012 at 5:15 PM to (650) 917-0796, in the event Walmart management actually reads these reviews and is able to determine who this she gremlin is. A link is also provided to the page in question for reference/training purposes if the management/associates care to brush up on some of the products/services Walmart offers: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Apple-iPhone-5-for-Verizon-AT-T-and-Sprint-Prices-Based-on-Eligible-Upgrade-or-New-2-Year-Contract/14675762 END RANT. read more
