If could give negative stars I would. This walmart has everything damn thing locked up with barely any employees to help. You wanna buy makeup? There's no time to look at colors because the employees is rushing you because she has other customers (not her fault either because they have her getting liquor and opening cases for cosmetics). And these things we are buying are not cheap. $8-$10 for used to be cheap things like loreal mascara. All the other walmarts have a desk with a person solely just for makeup but this one is just grabs whoever and we just wait. And wait, and wait. Everyone is inconvenienced because walmart can't stand to lose a little tiny bit of its billions of profit on some petty theft. The amount of price gouging walmart is doing makes the theft seem piddley. So effing tacky. They have the employees unload the giant crates in the middle of the day so you can't get your cart through areas. The shelves are usually missing lots of things. I usually don't expect much from any Walmart but this location seems to be different. At other walmarts, I'm used to their employees being too lazy to check for something in the back or unwilling to take you to the item you're looking for. I came here to look for a filing cabinet to get my mom. I asked an employee that was in the middle of stocking something and he walked me over to where the cabinets were. He noticed that there was a specific one that wasn't stocked so he grabbed another employee to see if they had any in the back and she actually checked ! Thank you, Lourdes! I went for a quick shop around for snacks and doing my errands duplicate a key. Someone told me that it'll be at the customer service area but it'll be self-service machine. **TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE** One star is just too good for them. Skinny elder asian lady who works at the self check out section was just plain R-U-D-E and very JUDGEMENTAL. My sister being 21+ (Who was also able to show I.D)was trying to buy medication and was refused because she might use it for " self harm ".. I was about ready to give the Old Elk Grove Walmart two stars, but I remember that this one had a greeter saying hi to me on a rather stressful trip. The Walmart near Highway 99 and Elk Grove Blvd is one of the originals before the Supercenters dominated the world. It is in the old Pak N Save center, now home to another Walmart Neighborhood Market. The layout is old school Walmart, although they managed to sneak in a decent amount of groceries. The parking lot is large, but has awkward access to Elk Grove Blvd and way too many speed bumps. Staff are about the same as other places providing little help, but they seem better than the other Elk Grove Walmart. The store also feels bigger and more open than the newer one down south. If you can navigate the parking lot without stopping at Fuji, you can actually enjoy - or just dread less - your next Wally World visit. read more

I used to go to this Walmart most of the time when the need arose to buy all the necessary staples one has to survive on. I even preferred shopping here over the former Walmart that was once closer to my house when it was jammed into the Southgate Shopping Center with it's cramped parking lot. But this Elk Grove Walmart was a breath of fresh air compared to the old one. However, it is pretty average as Walmarts go, offering a little bit of everything at mostly low prices. And of course, Walmarts seem to have a knack of being conveniently located in just about every neighborhood. When it comes to saving money, shopping here is a necessity because many of us have few choices when you are on a tight budget. Yes, I'm one of those Walmart shoppers, but I certainly hope I will never look like one! read more

Went right in to see if they had khaki pants that I can use. There was a lot of variety actually. I couldnt make up my mind. I spent an hour trying to find the right khaki pants. I actually finally found something. I also bought packs of index cards. It's really a descent Walmart. There were workers everywhere. I couldnt find the office supply section and I had to just turn around and there was a worker. He pointed me in the right direction. I been to this Walmart before many times. It seems to always changes layouts in the store all the time. It was clean and busy with people. It always feels like going through the airport at Walmart. Overall...it was an experience that I am use to here. My expectations about being busy and being the typical Walmart experience has always been the same. The store manager who's name starts with a B is a failure. He relies on intimidation and spying in order to communicate with his associates. He doesn't promote employees within the building that have worked there for years and instead brings his friends from other stores in for all the management positions. All of them are White and they yell at the Filipino stockers like they are slaves. The associates who are White and kiss ass get promoted instantly. There is no sense of safety or community in the building. Every day you walk in you have to be on your toes because someone is bound to try to intimidate, yell, or spy on you. You do not feel safe or secure in this position and the blatant Colorism that's going on does nothing but depress you. Asset protection associates walk around the building and spy on you. They pull you from your work area to stand by the door, when you're not getting the proper pay which is supposed to be 1.50$ more for that position. read more

I like this Wal Mart a lot. More so than the one on Florin Road . We have been coming to this Wal mart for years. I love the fact that they have the McDonalds right here, so it makes it easy when you shop or before you shop. You are able to have lunch right here and that is just what I did since I have my granddaughter with me and she loves McDonalds. I wish this Wal Mart was a super store. I like that I never have to wait long in line here, because they always have a significant amount of cashiers on hand. I love love their jewelry selection here. The store is always nice and clean and the shelves are always stocked pretty good. The prices are great . I don't come to this Wal mart as much as I used too, but I must admit I love this store. I can come in here and walk around and look in this store for hours at a time. I love the atmosphere here at this store. The one thing that I don't like about this store is there is always someone saleing something outside the store..I don't like that and pretty much every time I come here I see it. I do like when they sale the girl scout cookies tho.. Lol.... I love that they have a lot of parking here, never a problem finding a parking spot. Yep this is my favorite Wal mart, I am going to start back coming to this store because I like it here and it not that far of a drive, at least I don't think so. One of my favorite starbucks to come... . One they are more organized, at least stuff isn't all over the ground. . Less people which isn't like a zoo compared to Stockton blvd one. . A nice Christmas clearance item selection each yr i come visit. Lines weren't that bad on a Tuesday. . Parking is good, with lots of room. . There's two things I ask of a Walmart. 1) Have what I'm looking for in stock. 2) Have competent employees who can guide me to said items. Both of these were big fat fails on my visit to this, my new least-favorite of Walmart stores. I came in looking for some cooking and decorating supplies for an event. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just tape, some cups, things along those lines. Thinking I'd save some time searching a massive Walmart with an unfamiliar layout, I asked an employee who seemed to just be wandering aimlessly through the clothing section if they could help me. She said sure, then walked me in a painfully slow complete circle around the aisle, not saying a word, before returning to our start and signaling another employee to help me. Employee #1 disappeared into the clothing racks and was never seen by me again. Employee #2, a lady with a grumpy disposition, led me to the cooking supplies and then said something vague like "We may have that stuff or we may not" before answering something on her walkie-talkie thing and darting off. I spent the next ten minutes looking around on my own. In conclusion: time wasted, most items not found. But I did find plenty of oversized patriotic t-shirts? read more

This walmart is always crazy busy...I normally head over to the newer location nowadays but still stop by this EGB one every so often. I have to say that this location does carry everything I need... It isn't difficult to find everything and the staff will direct you if you get lost. The check out lines are normally staffed quite well so you're in and out. Everyone is always fighting for the parking up front and in the middle. Avoid the craziness by driving a few rows over and walking an extra 20 feet. Firstly, I came to Walmart this morning because it didn't look overwhelmingly busy. I was looking in the clothing section, and I overheard a woman arguing with a clerk working the women's apparel.. It was over a bra or trying on a bra me personally, I believe that is just nasty. I would not want to purchase anything somebody else's skin has rubbed on.!! Moreover, is sad that the store does not maintain a sanitary policy, regarding matters of people, trying on items that touch intimate parts of the person. Instead of yelling at the staff member customer should have the common sense to know what her bra size was.!! I will never purchase any undergarment from Walmart their corporation and they should be able to communicate effectively so customers and staff could understand the changes regarding such matters. I will return to Walmart and I will not purchase clothing items. I will go to target for that. read more

GARBAGE store with TRASH for training for their staff. I came in for a pick up order that included my babies' hard to find formula. Apparently they decided to close early at 5pm and were putting up a sign when I got there. I explained my situation to an employee standing out front- that I had ALREADY checked in and that I NEEDED the formula to feed my babies. He refused to even ASK his manager if I could pick it up, despite there still being people and traffic and sales happening in the store, and that an employee was probably waiting with my pick up order at the kiosk. His behavior was DISGUSTING and just disappointing on a human level. Looking at other reviews, this type of disgrace doesn't seem to be uncommon at this store. read more

Great associates at this location! I spoke to more than one and they were both great and went above and beyond to help me. This Walmart at the time of this writing was well stocked with all kinds of stuff! Pretty impressive for the Friday afternoon before Mother's Day! Im usually a target shopper but before I started shopping at Target which is closer to my home, I would shop at Walmart once or twice a week. Now I know why I don't miss it even if I have to pay more oh well. Good lord I can't even by $3.47 bath soap without ringing a bell and having them bringing it up to the front register. Even your staff thinks it's annoying and agree. Why not hire more security, even at night. By the way the soap purchase was early morning 9 am. Especially with everything going on in the media with Walmart's. They lost me as a customer for good. If they have so much trouble with theft please, why not hire more security??!! Please be open 24 hrs again! You just don't understand how important it was to have it open. Original Perry's is where I would go and get my grub on. After that, I would go walk it off at Walmart and go through every isle and would pause sometimes to to rip a juicy fart that hopefully stinks so bad you can't help but laugh and pray you don't shit your pants. The late night hours you got the workers cleaning that floor and a bunch of merchandise on the isle ready to go on the shelves. 70% of the employees were Filipino and thats always a treat. If I could give 1/2 of a Star I would The Bruceville and Whitelock has terrible customer service. Yesterday, I asked customer service if I could return an item purchased on Walmart.com. I was told , yes. Today, I drive back to the same store abs was told they were out of return labels. The employee said I'd I've to go to a different Walmart. 108 degrees outside. I made another purchase in self-check of a birthday card and received cash back. I asked the self check out for change because I needed 5's for the bday cards, the clerk told me to go to customer service. I stood in line for another 15-20 minutes for "change" to only have Customer service tell me their policy is not to give change . I repeatedly explained that I just got the bills from there register. The clerk kept saying it was store policy not to give change. What happened to the days of good customer service? I see why more and more people are shopping on line. Ugh. Where do i start! Cashier Katherine needs to improve her customer service. I am an avid couponer. I have no issues with other Wal-Mart's using multiple coupons or doing multiple transactions. ( i have a big family) But this lady decides to give me an attitude suddenly when i start pulling out coupons from my wallet. She starts questioning me, rolling her eyes and tells me i can't use the coupon on merchandise that isnt pictured on the coupon, i am taking all of the sales items, i am exceeding my coupon limits etc etc. I've asked her to do separate transactions if that wasn't an issue, instead she tells me "so do you want it or not?" Umm... My response "I would like my coupons back please, rather go to the Wal-Mart on Gerber rd." Gerber Wal-Mart has better selection of clearance and i never have an issue using coupons. No question asked What i was planning to buy: 3 bottles of kids suave and 3 bottles of garnier fructis shampoo. She had to make such a big deal over shampoo and coupons. read more
