Not a store made for men. Yes they have some men's clothes. But that's not what I meant. I came in for some shoes for my daughter. Took forever to find someone to help me. And they didn't even help. They said they would send someone over. It took over 15 minutes for me to get someone to get a pair of shoes for me. When they did. They tells me they only had this size and not that size. 15 minutes later I was very annoyed. But worse things happen so I don't let it become my energy. Another person hadn't even clocked in yet walked by. I asked for help. She said yes. Give me 30 seconds to clock in. She clocked in came right back. Got the correct size in shoes and all was well. I say not for a man because what changed after looking for help to getting help, my wife and daughter showed you from Michael's. They went looking for other clothes in the store. I waited for shoe person a second time. Nothing. They walked back over. Bam. Helped again. Just felt like it was not a store for men. But they did have the shoes my daughter wanted. Smaller Macys location than most. Always lots of long lines. They do have however some interesting pieces and shoe selections at times. You can order on line and pick up here. The downside it is all most impossible to get help from the store associates. I waited over 30 mins once for the shoe attendant and he never came. Some other person helped me out of pity. I was grateful when she finally got the shoes I needed. Not full selection of items like other stores. read more

I came here to return an item I bought online. The store looks very small. This store has limited selections, but it is convenient for the Elk Grovens. We don't have to drive all the way to Arden Mall. I appreciate that. Saves me time and money on gas. The store was clean, and the staff were nice. read more

Went right in to buy a top at the last minute. I find this place convenient. It's a lot smaller than what we are all use to. The big department store vibes is not here. But its big enough to find things that are similar like dept store Macys. Theres a purse section, shoes, active wear, womens casuals, mens active, and a cosmetic area. I appreciate the step in this place. I wonder if it will survive here. Perhaps it will. Toay I did enjoy the spring collections of womens clothing. Purses that are in pastel colors and clothing that I can imagine wearing during the spring time. They do have a variety of things that you can purchase. I love it here. read more

I had to bring in some stuff to return since it wasn't what we wanted. She had gotten a QR code to let me return the items. They only have registers at the front of the store. This is for both puchases and returns. The line was really long. I had to wait quite awhile. I did the return without any problems. The store is small for a Macys. I walked around after. They had a small Men's section. More women's stuff. I little Toys R us section and some home goods. The selection is really limited here. read more

I had a return to make at Macy's today. It was an online order of two Swarovski ornaments that were not the annual edition, so I attempted my returned at the ELL Grove store. The store is not as large as the typical Macy's Department stores but there is still plenty of merchandise available on site. I had trouble with my return because they could not find proof of purchase, even after I showed the purchase in my emails, gave the order number, the delivery information and tracking number. I was a bit upset and told them I can't accept that i can't return it when I had proof of purchase. Fortunately, Juan, the service clerk understood enough to keep trying different was to confirm my purchase, and return the ornaments for me. I could tell that Juan is very experienced and provides great customer service while I stood in line for at least 20 minutes and observed. Thankfully, after at least another 20 minutes, he was able to find my purchase with additional steps and inquiries on the register. This is a system problem that worries me, and as a result, I am no longer making purchases at Macy's unless I'm certain it is something I won't need to return. read more

With folks wisely changing their spending habits due to the silent recession, it's a bit disheartening to see some of the big retail stores that I grew up with as a kid vanish from existence. Although the Downtown Sacramento Macy's is no longer in operation, I was excited to hear that a scaled down version of it would be opening in close proximity to my home in Elk Grove. Wanting to find a spring-colored shirt for an upcoming wine festival, I decided to visit the store to see what they had to offer. Upon entering I observed what I would call a Macy's on Ozempic; to my immediate right were a few cashiers, to the left were women's clothing, and to the right was a fragrances counter that eventually led to a very small men's section (there is also a popup shop-like Toys R Us section towards the back of the store). When I arrived at the men's section I observed that there was a small variety of brands available (i.e., Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Nike), in limited colors (unlike the traditional Macy's where you could dang near find any color outfit to meet your satisfaction). Aside from the merchandise, I observed that staff were socializing amongst one another, but not delivering the kind of customer service that you would expect from a Macy's store. I found this to be really disappointing because Macy's has generally always been known for its superb customer service. I left the store with a shirt that I purchased out of desperation, but eventually returned. I know that the boutique format is an attempt for Macy's to retain their customer base; however, this format just doesn't work for a store that is historically known for having immense variety (yes I'm aware that this was an effort to downsize due to our country's economic status). If you need to stay local (Elk Grove), I recommend checking out the Nordstrom Rack on Elk Grove Boulevard. If you've got some time and don't mind dealing with the mall crowd, I recommend visiting the traditional Macy's store located within the Arden Fair Mall. read more

Not sure if this is a concept store but interesting to see basically a mini-macys in Elk Grove. They have a little Toys are Us section and ulta inside. They also have a surprising number of fitting rooms in the center of the store. The biggest issue with this place is that due to its small size it doesn't have a full selection and sometimes very limited on sizes when compared to a full size Macys. Still great to see a place like this. It was pretty bust but the staff seemed to be moving people through the line pretty quick. Typical Macys prices so don't expect to be thrifting at this location. Parking lot can be pretty busy due to the number of businesses in this area but still pretty easy to find a spot compared to DOCO or the mall. Worth checking out if you like Macys! read more

I ordered online for an item and it said that it was expected to be ready for pickup at 3pm. I showed up to pick it up but it was not ready. I showed up the next day when I got a text confirmation. I pickup my order but it was a completely different item even though my package is attached with a receipt of the item I ordered. I tried going back to the register but the lady in glasses and black hair rudely turned me away to the beauty department register while I was waiting in line. I tried explaining my situation but she cut me off and told me to go to the beauty department because they have better knowledge with the product. I went to the beauty department front desk. The three workers were super friendly, nicer and able to fix my order instantly. Shout out to the beauty department for better customer service compared to the front checkout! read more

I was excited to find out that a new Macy's was opening on my side of town! My sister and I arrived on one of the first days of opening. Fortunately, we came early on a Thursday, (a day before the announced grand opening), so it was surprisingly not crowded. We did have a nice time browsing the store. But it was a smaller version of the Macy's we were used to. They consisted of condensed versions of departments. Designer apparel, expensive handbags, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, and a mini "Toys R US". My sister managed to find a pair of jeans that fit. I, however, couldn't find much in my style or size. The few things I tried on were not flattering and the rhinestone tennis shoes were eye catching, but rubbed against my bunion. I left disappointed. Review # 600 I was excited to hear about a Macy's location coming to town locally! of course, I didn't expect it to be as large as more dept style stores but one can be hopeful. So...... very limited styles. Limited sizes. Limited options. It feels even smaller than like a Nordstrom Rack. It's SMALL. I did find some cute PJ bottoms which I bought.... but other than that... it's really ....... not that great. Low low expectations when shopping here. This Macys is more the size of a boutique store with not the inventory I've come to expect. Cosmetics definitely needs staffing as many test samples (their biggest advantage) have been stolen or the color I wanted was either stolen or already out of stock. Children's selection was exceptionally minimal and had to go a couple doors down to Carter. Would have loved to see some of the name brands like Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren that usually separates Macys from Target nearby. Would like to see this store survive but unless they improve their staffing and inventory levels it will be short lived. read more

I came to this Macy's on a Sunday night three days before Christmas. I had already went to a few other stores and I was surprised that at 6 PM. This Macy's was not that busy. Walking in the first thing that I realize was wow this looks just like a sax fifth Avenue the way the set up is inside the store. It is not feel like I'm in a normal traditional Macy's store. Just like other Macy's stores the men's section is much smaller compared to the women's section but at this store, it is even very, very small smaller. There were some signs that were deceiving. I noticed some signs that said shoes were 40% off, but once I scan the shoes or brought them up to the counter, they were full Price. They do carry some other brands that some Macy's I've been to don't have. So I thought that was interesting. I don't think I'll be back to this Macy's unless I have to do a pick up or return I would rather just go to Arden or Galleria. read more

This store needs better customer service. I came in for the first time to return a shirt for my son and they had nobody at the register. I waited a good 10mins, the lady in front of me was waiting before me but not sure how long.. i seen a worker and she said she would call somebody since she don't have access to a register, she asked another worker and the worker just ignored her because she was helping somebody instead of telling her she's helping somebody at the moment... she finally called a manager. A different worker finally came up and I did ask for a manager to make a complaint because that was ridiculous, when manager came up I express how ridiculous that was and expressed how I felt about nobody coming up, he did apologize but I asked him how to do make a complaint about getting better customer service because all of a sudden him and 2 other workers came up at the same time, and his response was "you just did". Remind you the store was not busy at all. I'm not the 1 to ever write reviews on anything but this definitely needed a review. I will never go back to this Macys. They need better communication with eachother and better customer service! read more

This is a mini Macy's so it's limited. However, since it's limited the customer service needs to be stellar and unfortunately, they are lacking. Horrible customer service. Cashiers just standing around not offering assistance when you can clearly see someone is waiting for assistance. Why keep items locked up if it's too much of a hassle for the cashiers to come and unlock the cases. I doubt this store front will be successful. Not with this kind of service. read more

I'm happy to see a new Macys here in Elk Grove. This means I don't have to drive all the way to Sacramento to shop. I recently had the time to stop by a few days ago and was a little disappointed at how small the store was. They even had a little toy section which I know I will NOT be coming here with my son in the future. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but a dress and jumpsuit caught my eye. I tried on the two dresses but they were too small. Size are very limited. I couldn't find any larger sizes. An employee was working at the computer in the fitting rooms and she didn't seem very friendly so I didn't bother asking her for any help. She didn't even make contact or say a word or smile at me so I just left the store and crossing my fingers they have my size available online. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Went to go purchase Sun Glasses from the Sun Glass hut setup inside this Macy's. Stood there for a good 20 minutes with the sales rep running around like a little High Schooler. Not even acknowledging if she will help me or not? The ladies working the Front have no knowledge and lack any customer service skill. They are just there for a paycheck. I will never go back to this crap store. Hope management reads this. I am so fed up with this place. Everytime I come here there is not enough people working in ear department and the ones that are working look like they hate their lives at work. I came in today at 5:30 and was hoping to get a Valentino cologne. After waiting around for 15! Minutes and not getting approached I went to ask the mid aged Asian lady with her hair in a pony tail working in the department if I can have some help since I've been waiting and she said "YEAH YOU BEED TO WAIT YOUR TURN." Are u serious ? This really upset me and I am now kinda scared to go into this location because I do not want to be yelled at again. Also another instance is when I came in store and showed the manger using my phone that the online price is lower than the I store price, after he checked with his phone he said " yeah that's not true" and was looking at me as if I had a fake app. I am just never coming here again. read more

So... My mom and I went to the Macy's in Elk Grove. Initially I thought it might be a Macy's "backstage" store because I couldn't imagine a Macy's being in such a small space. But upon entering into the Macy's, I asked the security guard at the door if it was in fact a regular Macy's, and he said yes. I love the idea of bringing a Macy's to elk Grove, but this is an epic fail. In my opinion, it's just like shopping at Ross or Marshall's. Each department is tiny and the store is a single level. Unlike the Macy's at DOCO and Arden way, there is no luxury feel to the store. They literally have shopping carts as well. That's like pushing a shopping cart around Neiman Marcus or Saks fifth Avenue! Overall, whoever decided on this location dropped the ball big time. While I do like shopping at Macy's, I will be sticking to the DOCO location or the Arden mall location. Honestly, they should just turn this into a Macy's backstage store! read more
