Hi, I had a questionable experience just now at the Arden Mall location(around 5:45pm). I was there picking up an order. Pilar provided me great customer service. I ended up finding another item and was waiting at the register to be rung(they were not busy). One lady was helping another guest and the other checker was just sitting behind the counter. When the phone would ring, she went out of her way not to pick it up. When I went up to the counter, a woman by the name of Jessica did not greet me with a "hello" or smile, she looked extremely irritated I asked for assistance in being rung up. She was unfriendly at best. Jessica- You should not be in a customer facing job if you don't want to help others. read more

I especially like that it's located conveniently at the end of the building facing the freeway so I normally park in the parking garage top floor where there is ample parking. This is my favorite Torrid, & I've been buying their clothing since it looked like Hot Topic on steroids. At least 20 years! Stopped in yesterday to buy a bra & a couple Harper blouses, and was kinda stunned that the store was so clean and well-recovered so late in the day & the week. The fitting rooms are clean, the racks are well stocked, there aren't panties strewn all over (coughlanebryantcough), even the clearance section was racked properly & easy to shop. Esther manages this Torrid & has for years now & she always finds the sweetest, most helpful associates! I feel defrauded by this branch of Torrid in particular. My friend and I were shopping; my friend found a great dress but they didn't have her size in the store. They offered to order it online for her and have it shipped to her house. They did not tell her it was 40% off online. They charged her the entire amount. She looked online once home and saw what she assumed was a mistake. She called them for help and they said, essentially, buyer beware. She escalated to corporate and NOTHING. And now I see there are unauthorized ADDITIONAL purchase on my Torrid card made the same day I shopped and bought in the Arden Faire Mall Torrid. AVOID THIS BRANCH! They are dishonest. Also the excuse was "I can't resell this" so just know that you're purchasing items other people have worn and returned because they resell them. Not brand new items. Cute, but inconsistently-fitting clothes. The sizes are also pretty inconsistent (size 12 dress is NOT size 12 pants) Also, when I do decide to spend a bunch on a piece of clothing here, it usually falls apart within 2-3 wears. The employees are nice, but...aloof? They don't seem very genuine. Most of them, anyway. I went in today to return some jeans that I have purchased online because they did not fit me - The tags were all still attaches and i had my original receipt and everything. The associate was absolutely rude to me ! I work in sales so I get it a return sucks but you still want to give good customer service!!! I was so floored by how rude she was right in front of her manager as well and the manager didn't do anything about it! This seems to be pretty regular customer service from this location ! Honestly after that I will never be purchasing from that location again because honestly I do not ever want to deal with the rude associates or the dirty store again! I love Torrid, but sometimes it can be hit or miss at this location. When I see new items online, I like going to store to make sure that the item is going to fit correctly. Most of the time the item that is online or on the mannequin is not available to purchase. If they do have the new item is very limited quantity and they don't have it in the smaller sizes. I don't know if they only order a small amount of the clothes in size 1/2, but they have an abundance of clothes in the larger sizes. The sizing isn't consistent especially in the tops. On one shirt I could be a size 0 and in others its anywhere between size 1/2. Sometimes its hard to get the employees to help you out. I don't know if they are short staffed or if the employee just doesn't want to come from around the register. Other times the staff can be helpful and go above and beyond. I was looking for a perfume from the Beauty and the Beast collection and the staff went into to the back to look for the item. When she couldn't locate one she offered to call another Torrid to see if they might have some in stock. The employees don't really walk around the store asking if you need help, which is good if you don't want to be bothered. However, when you can't reach something then it can be a problem, it seems like that's the time they all disappear to the back. Their clearance sometimes can be a joke. To me the clearance prices are what the items should have been from the get go. Other times the item is only marked down by $5 and it still will ring up at $40 before taxes. When it comes to clearance it's best to go to the store and not online since all clearance items are final sale. The best time to stock up is when clearance items are buy two items and get one free, or buy one time get one free. read more

Unfortunately the state the store was poor, from the cloths on the floor to the clearance rack beeing messy and having a lot of the close half hanging off. You had to find an associate to try on your cloths. The store was not busy at the time. They were also out of stock of certain items. I will probably return next time just to see if things get better. But over all not vert satisfied. read more

After reviewing a number of these other reviews about the Torrid Arden Fair location I am at least happy to see that they are consistent and not singling me out. I have been an avid Torrid shopper for years now. I love Torrid in general and I am even a credit card holder. I am particularly annoyed with the poor customer service that I continually receive from the Arden Fair location. Most recently, I went and purchased a pair of boots that were on clearance that ended up not fitting. During my purchase the cashier (who I believe is the manager) neglects to inform me that there is a no refund no exchange policy on clearance items. The boots were a whopping $65 dollars on clearance. I called to verify that I could at least exchange the boots. I was told no and that the cashier that helped me should've told me that. I will not patronize this location anymore. There negligence has me stuck with boots that don't fit and now I'm out of $65. read more

Two stars because there are a couple rock stars at this location that are friendly and helpful and handle the volume of customers with grace. I can't give more than 2 stars because there are also lazy associates with a bad attitude at this store. They carry a lot of product but none of the items from online I actually want. If you come at a bad time with the aforementioned staff: Did not bother asking for help. Don't bother digging through the mess of clearance. It is a hot mess and the prices are almost full price. If you ask for help they will tell you it is in the racks.... really?! Keep your socks on in the fitting room (gross.) Don't try to return or exchange anything. I understand your return policy but if I have a receipt and I am a regular shopper maybe you should figure out a way to take back the $48 shirt that fell apart in the washer and the skirt that is too small. You aren't losing anything by exchanging it. Especially when you see I have a pile of things to buy. By not exchanging it you did lose a customer. The manager on duty was a lovely person but not so great at customer service. I will only shop online and other locations and make sure to do my returns at your store from now on:)! read more

Online order 3/17/19 Online ordering system is junk, and not just in match 19, I had problems again 12:23/19. If the money Amy changes or your item is no longer available it directs you back to fix and defaults to all old info. My order defaulted to an old address March 27 @ 4:58 am. My confirmation email . Alerted me to this and I called and emailed 7 minutes after I placed the order, Torrid states there is a 15 min window but not true. Not only was my order delivered to old address where it was never seen again, I have received " oh well , you have to pay , oh well can give you a 10. 00 Reward. I was forced to pay a few min payments while disputing and then my credit dropped 52 points when they reported always delinquent. I paid in full for stuff never received because it was going to be charged off. At this point I was over the money , I wanted them to fix the credit report. I have debated whether or not to write a review on here, but after three visits to this location and every time receiving terrible customer service I just have to do it. 1. Nobody greeted me 2. When I asked the associate a question she did not even look at me and she made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. 3. I asked if the very small wall of heels were all the heels they had, and she looked at me like I was stupid and gave me a catty response. I went to this Torrid a few days ago for the first time in the better part of a year. It was a nice surprise to see how much cleaner and more organized it looked. Also, a lady there named Natalie was so fantastic! She helped me put together outfits for a few events I have coming up. She was very attentive and told me she just started working there. I'm pretty new to Torrid, but their sales staff have always been friendly and helpful to me, including during my last visit when an associate asked if I needed help finding a size, and when I jokingly told her anything in the short length (thanks, stumpy legs), she ran to the back and returned with several jeans that didn't pool around my ankles. Unfortunately, the prices are too high for the quality of clothing they sell (although I do adore many of their dresses and appreciate that they offer stylish clothing in plus sizes). The clearance prices are also a joke, and it's obvious that stuff moves slowly because of it because they still have so much winter gear on clearance. The clearance skirt I eyeballed on my very first visit to the store still hangs there, waiting to be purchased. Torrid does have a rewards program, and thank goodness for that because I would never pay full price in there (and you shouldn't either). read more

I do love torrid, it's such my style of clothing, well majority of it. But it's just too damn expensive. I maybe shop there 3 to 5 times a year. I mainly shop for bras, dresses, and shirts, and pants. I do however like their perfume. It smells amazing! Not too over board with the smell. I used to come to this location because it was the closest to my house, but now I drive to Citrus Heights. This is a smaller store, and really messy. The last time I went in, I was returning some things purchased online, and one of the employees seemed really irritated at that. I understand that when I return things, it affects their sales (former torrid employee at a different location) so I try to buy a thing or two from the location so it's not as bad. It was hard to find anything in the store because it was so chaotic, and I ended up interrupting a personal conversation between the irritated one and her coworker. I was made to feel like I was annoying them just to get into the changing rooms. Finally, I decide not to buy anything and just return my stuff. That same employee roles her eyes at me when I tell her I won't be purchasing anything. She tells her coworker to do the exchange. I've seen the irritated lady before, and she seems to always be in a bad mood, but by the way she talked I assumed she was the manager. When I was alone with the other employee I asked if that was her manager just to be sure. She said yes. I didn't say anything else, but it must have shown on my face. This other worker completed my return and was super friendly. As we finished up she apologized if there had been something going on between myself and her manager or if I had been offended/upset by the managers behavior. The young woman is the reason I'm giving this place two stars instead of one after several negative experiences there. I wish I knew her name, because I should have informed corporate of her hard work and customer service skills. This may not be a great location of an otherwise great store, but it's definitely not that young ladies fault. read more

I went to this location during my visit at my relatives on New Years. There was up to 50-70% off clearance items. I tried a bunch of clothes and left with a handful. The staff were very friendly especially Brandy, the manager. I kept on asking questions here and there and she never got annoyed or anything! She was very helpful and always smiled. This is the PLACE to get nice plus-sized clothes. I recently bought some dresses and a swim suit here. One thing I don't really know how to feel about is the redecorating. I've been going to this particular Torrid for about 6 years, and they've changed the decor about 4 times I swear. Just pick a theme and go with it, yo. And freshen up the decor in the dressing rooms, it's looking too... industrial. It's lost that boutique feel it used to have. Overall, if you're looking for clothes to impress and "wow", come here.
