This is the PLACE to get nice plus-sized clothes. I recently bought some dresses and a swim suit here. One thing I don't really know how to feel about is the redecorating. I've been going to this particular Torrid for about 6 years, and they've changed the decor about 4 times I swear. Just pick a theme and go with it, yo. And freshen up the decor in the dressing rooms, it's looking too... industrial. It's lost that boutique feel it used to have. Overall, if you're looking for clothes to impress and "wow", come here. I went in Torrid Arden Mall yesterday to look at dresses. It was about 6pm. I was really disappointed because I got NO help whatsoever. I was not greeted when I walked in. I'm used to that. I looked around for a little bit and then I realized that a woman who I thought was a customer actually worked there!!!! I figured that out when I saw her folding merchandise. She also walked passed me and says rudely EXCUSE ME so that she can continue to do her work. Part of which I foolishly thought was to help customers!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! So yes, they have stylish clothes in bigger sizes but the material is very cheap and the clothes usually fall apart pretty fast. Costumer service is less than satisfactory, they are rude and not helpful. I walked in there the other day and they had around four employes working with no costumers in the store and not one person asked me if they can help they just stood at the cash register gossiping and talking. I spend a lot of money at torrid and expect better costumer service so i seriously dought i will be going back to that store EVER.. I am really unsure why they get rid of the good employees and keep the rude ones.. costumer service is everything to me and they do not have it at all.... I ordered products online August 9th and had them delivered to this store product was supposed to be there in 14 business days. Sept 9th I called because I nevered received them. Made three calls to the customer service number each customer service agent attempted to reach the store by phone was unable to get in contact with anybody at the store my items were delivered to the store but they have no idea where they went from there which lead me to believe that this store steals products that were purchased online. I have spoken to customer service supervisors they were supposed to issue me a refund for my products as of today refund has not been processed they do not know what the hang-up or the holdup is I also filed a complaint against the store directly this store manager was supposed to call me and discuss the issue I have yet to hear anything from the store manager or anybody from this location I am very disappointed with how they handled this there is no reason why a order placed online that gets shipped to a store mysteriously goes missing that means the sales associate at the store could be possibly still in the products and I'm being charged for the products that were never received as well as a late payment fee for not making payments on my Torrid credit card for products I never received. I don't understand how the employees at this location still have jobs. I was there this past Saturday making a purchase. Stood in line waiting although there was NO ONE in front of me. There were 3 employees at the registers and one of them even acknowledged me. Then after 2 minutes or so another customer walks up and one of the employees says "I can help you over here" so naturally I say that I was already waiting. The employee says that they were already helping that customer and she went to grab something else which is totally understandable but a little communication would've been nice. So then it's finally my turn. The lady that helped me continued her personal conversation the entire time she was ringing me up about how her friend got off her birth control and got pregnant within a month. I mean good for her, but not appropriate talk in front of a customer. Employee hands me my bag, I say thank you. She continues to talk without even looking at me as I walk out of the store. She literally handed me my bag without looking at me. It was rude and I left feeling really annoyed. It's common knowledge that employees at this store are rude. I ventured in this location a few days before Christmas and was really impressed. It had been years since I had gone, since I never shop at Arden, and I'm glad I stopped in. First of all, this location has a wider selection than the Sunrise location. Not to mention since I had last been in there, it's been remodeled and looks gorgeous! Poor customer service! I walk in and the Sales Associate looked at me up and down, and then asked me if I was finding everything okay. Before I walked out I asked the lady at the register if they had the black platform heels in tan, she had a confused look on her and said she didn't know I was talking to her so if I could repeat it. This rating is for the sales associates working there. Now, I can only speak for the ladies that have helped me on the two occasions I've shopped there...but consistently I felt like I was a bother to be spending my hard earned money there. I'd say out of 4 of the ladies that have helped me, only 2 were nice. I'm not sure what the deal is because most other stores they are happy to see a customer walk in. Bad business. If I were to rate the clothing, I'd give more stars as I have been happy with the fitting and availability of sizes. I was in torrid the other day (Torrid Arden) and the people in there are so RUDE! The staff is unprofessional and have so much rude attitude towards customers. Their personalities come across as better than you! I asked a question and they acted like I was bothering them. One lady with big blonde streaks in her hair at the register was so impersonal and rude. This is the best torrid in the area as far as location and layout but as far any ANY of the workers go... WORST STORE! I don't know if anyone will even see this but if you do be aware of the rudeness you're about to receive when you go in there. And if anyone from Torrid sees this.. Get it together! They have horrible customer service. Not respectful at all. They definitely lack cultural competence. secondly, the clothes are not that cute. So many other stores that you can go to and get better clothing and better customer service. I had almost given up on this place. The last few times I had been there the service and selection was ummm, ok but their prices and new return policy makes you want to walk out. However, a few weeks ago (during my birthday week) they had their additional 50% off sale on their clearance items AND gave you $5 off your purchase if you tried on their jeans. You better bet the bargainista in me was all over that. Here's what really threw me over the edge, the really nice sales lady noticed my military ID and gave me an additional 10% off... Uh-Maze-Ing! I scored 3 ($38 - $45 regular price) tops, a necklace ($12 regular price) and 2 dresses ($65 regular price) for less than $75. I was stoked! First let me say I love Torrid I am a platinum loyal customer. But I cringe to haft to go to this location( Torrid Arden) It's closest to me so sometimes I give in but I regret it every time. The customer service is beyond horrible. The manager the one with the black and blond hair is the rudest person you've ever met. She never smiles, I thinks she hates her job and frankly it's quite sad. I went in there yesterday to pick up some tops I had on hold and when I asked her for them very excited with a smile, she returned with them in her hand and instead of handing them to me nicely she reached out her had all the way with the head turned and shoved them I'm my face. I was taken back by this but not surprised. Every single person working in this store is rude it's ridiculous. They need to replace them with employees that actually enjoy thier jobs and that are kind to thier customers!!!!!! By the way the sunrise store is amazing the girls are super sweet and Tammy I absolutely love. It's such a shame all the bad reviews are about the employees. I am giving an extra star because I finally found a bra that I LOVE! But my mother and I had an awful experience with an associate named Linda. The first associate that was helping us needed assistance and when Linda walked over she said "oh the ignorance". Now I don't know if she was talking about another situation or this associate but that starts things off on a bad note with me. She came into the situation with an attitude and kept saying the same thing over and over again regarding a coupon that should've been able to be used. She was not able to explain to us why it wouldn't work and instead of getting assistance she got louder and eventually put her hand in my face saying "ma'am I am not speaking to you". Overall she made the experience really awful, luckily Candace who is a different associate, helped us and was able to explain the problem. It still does not make any sense but at that point we just wanted to get our stuff and leave. I really hope that Linda is able to get more customer service training and hopefully she won't treat anyone that way again. read more

Torrid was my lest favorite plus size store and it wasn't because of clothing but because of customer service. I would wonder in once or twice a month when I was usually that the Arden fair Mall. And never bought anything even tho I really liked their items. Well this month it all changed I walking in and a Super Nice girl named Irena came up to me and asked how my day was going and had a sweet conversation with me. After that she helped me find some super cute stuff and then got me a room. She never let me get my hands to full to shop always caring my stuff and putting them into the fitting room. So I asked her if she's helping out from a different store and she was like no im new assistant manager here been here for only 3 weeks. First of all she was amazing I would never guess she was new because she know her stuff. She was super honest with her opinion if she didn't like something on me she would sub it out for something more me. I will definitely be back to shop with me personally shopper at Torrid named Irena. If more mangers and employees where like Irena sweet, honest, with always a smile on their face. I have been a customer of Torrid's since 2005. The Arden store was my favorite because the women who worked there were friendly and super helpful but that has all changed! The people who work in there now are the complete opposite, rude and nasty every time I go there. Its gotten so bad that I now shop at the Sunrise store and I live in Elk Grove! I think I'm going to write or call Torrid's corporate office because it's ridiculous that a store treats their customers so badly. read more

This torrid is small in size but my experience was awful. They were low on staff and because I had a purse with me they were looking to see if I was stealing. The managers were rude and talked about the customers when they left the register. My time took a turn when a employee who I thought was another manager had more knowledge and customer skills than ACTUAL MANAGERS came to help me her name was Raquel. She was helpful and took the time to help me for what I needed. If you go here ask for her because she knows about cloths and will help you if you need it. read more

I went to the Arden store on Monday 8/27 to look for one specific item. I shop frequently at the sunrise mall location because of previous bad experiences with customer service at the Arden store. Well not much has changed as it relates to customer service. No one greeted me. I felt like I was avoided while shopping so I decided to not even bother to try on a few items I found on the clearance rack. At the register the sales associate asked if someone had helped me I kind of laughed and said no and as a matter of fact no one greeted me either. As it turns out she was the manager and apologized and seemed to make an effort with the group of people shopping as I left. Well I was back at the store again today 8/29 (two days later) to return/exchange an online order and get a dress I had been eyeing online. I figured maybe Monday was just an off day. Again no one greeted us. It looked like there were only two people working so okay I get it. I found my items and wanted to try them on -well that took a while. Unfortunately it seems they need more hands on deck at this location. Just a thought, it may improve customer service. I was glad to see a familiar face at the store (I can't remember her name but she's tall with short hair) from the sunrise store. They are so friendly and helpful at that location. When it came time to complete my exchange I had a few questions for Amanda at the register. Well Amanda was in a mood. I don't know if it was because I had a return or what. She was simply not willing to help me out you know provide customer service. She seemed to not want to be bothered and didn't make any effort to sell me anything in the store. I ultimately decided to simply return my online items that did not work out and go home to complete a new purchase online. The Arden store location does not deserve to make a sale for such poor customer service. That place needs a larger clearance section you cant get by if any other person is in the area. I know the majority of customers are plus size but not even straight sized people would have enough room. They need new staff- one improvement was bringing a person from the sunrise store. I really wish they'd get their act together at this location. I literally drive out of my way to avoid the poor attitudes at this location. read more

do not shop at this location unless you have 35-60 mins to wait around for someone to help you. while the associates are great at greeting you when you first walk in, they lack any other form of customer service. one associate in particular seemed bothered when i asked for a fitting room, and when i was done shopping and ready to be rang up she was in the middle of an exchange. i understand that sometimes those kind of transactions take a few moments, but i did not get any kind of acknowledgement that i was standing there. she did not bother to call anyone to help ring(especially after i had been standing up there well over 10 mins), even though a simple "i'll be right with you" would of sufficed. in a store full of customers the two associates moved slow and seemed generally bothered by having to tend to customers. this location needs new employees asap. i'll more than likely never shop here again unless i'm in a real pinch. read more

This stores customer service is the WORST! This is the closest location to my house which is 45 minutes away. I pretty much always buy my stuff online so that I don't have to worry about coming in and them not having my size. Which happened a lot in the past. But god forbid you want to exchange an item for a different size or want to return something you've literally had for a couple days and WITH a receipt. Today the bald lady huffed and puffed at me when I told her that I wanted to exchange a pair of boots and a sweater that had been delivered to my house yesterday. I also had 2 items that I was returning because they just didn't fit me right. She ignored me twice when I had questions and when I told her to please first help the lady behind me with a little girl and only 1 item she told me "It's okay." It might not have been for the poor woman in a hurry with the upset child. Not to mention I get all the way home and find that the pair of boots she gave me have a broken zipper!!! So now I'm forced to make another special trip in to get a pair of boots that aren't already broken. This isn't my first run in with her so I'm guessing her rudeness is just how she is. Not sure how that's acceptable for a rep of Torrid but I'm pretty sure I'll just be driving up to Roseville now. They have always been so nice and helpful to me.
