This was my first time shopping at Rainbow Apparel and probably my last. It is definitely not a store for me, but we went in because it was next to Ross and we thought we would pop in to see if they had any sandals for our daughter which they did not. All of their shoes are made for people with small feet and I did not see kid sizes. The couple of clothes items I did look at for my daughter were overpriced in my opinion, but they did have a lot of sale signs as well, but I didn't even check out the other side of the store - it was racks on racks of clothes and it seemed a bit overwhelming. Service was non-existent and the lady at the register was just doing her job and nothing more. Overall, I'm sure this store is good for some items, but can't see us coming back. read more

The manager was available and ready to assist me at the register, but as soon as I began explaining my issue, she turned her back mid-conversation to do unrelated tasks and even walked away -- all while the store was completely empty. When I asked for someone higher, she stated that she was the manager. She made no effort to help or even acknowledge me despite me standing right in front of her. 1. Rude manager -- Ignored me while I was still talking and offered zero assistance. 2. Inaccurate sizing -- I normally wear an XS, and even their Large didn't fit, while the plus sizes were far too big. 3. Misleading tags & poor quality -- The sizes on the tags don't match the actual fit, and the clothing quality is disappointing. If you value your time or your money, don't shop here. This is my first time shopping at the Rainbow Apparel store. They're mainly focused on women's plus-size clothing, with many other women's and kids' clothing and accessories available at discounted prices. I received a pleasant greeting as soon as I walked into the store. A couple more workers offer help when I'm there. All the employees are friendly and attentive. The store is well organized and very bright inside. Most of the merchandise is sold at more affordable prices than the department stores. You will find better deals in Rainbow Apparel, especially if you're looking for plus-size clothing. read more

Cute clothes at cheap prices, especially if you're just buying for the season and don't plan to wear year after year. The staff tho...there was a gentleman working who can only carry one item at a time, cos his other hand is busy holding his pants up. Look I get that was the style 15 years ago, but his entire ass was not at all in his pants. It didn't even look like a fashion statement at that point, it looked like he was about to drop his drawers in the store. Nobody ever asked me if I needed help however one female did thank me for coming as I was walking out of the store. I would like to return, but probably not at this location. In all my years here in California I never even thought about this store. One day I stumbled upon it and I was super excited to take my daughter because at her age when I lived in New York I remember them having a lot of cute things I'd wear outside of work. I also remember their prices being really good for clothing I'd wear a couple of times. I brought her, super excited and ready to spend some money only to be disappointed at how cheaply made most of the stuff was. I kept telling her that it wasn't always like that. That although the clothes was never super great quality, I had never had any problems leaving the store with some great finds. I guess over the years in order to keep their prices low they've compromised quite a bit on quality. It's not that the items don't look cute on the hangers, it's that when trying them on you realize they were poorly constructed. Customer service was super. My daughter left with one very cute top and although neither one of us wear plus sizes, it was nice to see that there was balance between smaller sizes and plus sizes. Also that the plus sizes actually had very pretty and fashionable pieces. So on that, kudos to Rainbow for catering to all figures. read more

Fitting room is off limits. Return policy is only 7 days. I've come in the store like twice and some Asian woman who works there followed me around the store. I came in today just to make a return because the clothes did not fit. I was the only person in line. A sales associate went to tell the manager that I wanted to make a return. It took at least 10 minutes for the manager to come to the register. Then another 5 minutes or so to do the return because they made me fill out a return form. read more

Inexpensive , low quality threads . I like it because I can get a bunch of shirts , pants, dresses , etc that I can mix and match and wear to work. You can get a lot for $100. There are plenty of sales racks ranging from $5-$15 clothing pieces. I wouldn't shop here if I was looking for something elegant or that would last me a while . Great place to shop for children since they run through clothes quickly. Always a security guard roaming around. Staff is always busy working whether it's putting clothes on racks or ringing up customers. I wouldn't say they are the friendliest , but no one is ever rude. read more

In all the years i have shopped here this is the worst experience i ever had i came in 07/06 and bought the led lights I came back July 7 to the store manager telling me that this is what happens all the time and They don't do refunds or returns on broken electronics so I recommend that before buying any electronics at this location have them open the box and make sure that it works properly before you use your money because this is a scam and they wont refund you or care read more

I usually enjoy shopping here because they have a semi decent selection of plus size clothing and most of the items are priced low. However my experience last night has me wanting to NEVER come back. ALOT happened so Ima break down everything that was annoying. 1. There was a group of people and one of the dudes in the group was cussing out loud the entire time they were in the store. B**** this, b***** that. It was disgusting! Yall sell childrens clothing here, families shop here! How can you let someone use that language in this store?! shame shame shame on the managers and owners. 2. Because of the holiday season they had security sensors in EVERY corner of the store, whatever no biggie right? WRONG. these sensors went off just by walking in front of them, so every five minutes there be a loud alarm just ringing in your ear. stupid idea too as any thief could just realize they were gonna be set off no matter what. 3. all of the employees, except one, were holed up in a room for the entire time until people complained and then they'd come out for a minute or two. it was just confusing and weird. like yall spend so much time and money on these annoying alarms just so that you can NOT watch the floor? come on now. 4. usually they divide their sections really neatly but this time there was hecka clothes in the plus size section that werent supposed to be there. irritating to look through clothes just to realize they arent from the section you want! I just spent $126 and bought almost an entire wardrobe for my upcoming three week trip to Europe (all tops and scarves that I'll match with my nice jeans and leggings, etc.) The clothes are really inexpensive and they have all sizes! And lots of variety for all sizes (kids, Juniors, plus, men) I'm sure the clothes won't last forever because they're on the chapter side, but oh well! I will definitely get the worth out of wear! I take off a star because they have the STUPIDEST dressing room policy.... 3 items? ??? Seriously? Who does that? And they didn't even monitor me so I could have totally taken more in, but I didn't because I'm honest. And on my last trip into the dressing room, I only had four items left. I asked the girl of I could have a pass and she said no. If I hadn't already found a lot of items that I wanted, I would have walked out. I just don't get it. I'll go back though. Love this place, prices are amazing, great sandals for the summer, and they have layaway. I can always find stuff for the kids and myself that is stylish, and trendy. I get a lot of compliments for the pieces that i find there. Occasionally i can find some jewelry i like. You cant go wrong. There are a few great people that work that that i have dealt with on a regular bases. I have never encountered a rude or unhelpful associate even when it might have been just cause for it.. Torrid+Fashion Nova+Ross= Rainbow This is a cute shop. The styles remind me of Torrid and Fashion Nova, but the prices remind me of Ross. They seem to have an okay balance of regular and plus size clothing, although I would like to see some more plus size clothing in store. Also I want to see more of those sheer hi-low tops, like on the website. The ladies working were nice. I like that a security guard was there. read more

While it's true, 'you get what you pay for', it's also true that kids grow so fast, it's not very smart to spend a lot of money. They have an assortment of kids clothes, as well as all sizes. I have found some cute things, and if they only do me, or my granddaughter, a season, so be it. I haven't broken the bank! However, a big however... Store personnel could use some training in customer service! I'm not speaking of all staff, just a few. Without providing good customer service, a store like this will lose a lot of customers. Without customers, the store won't thrive, and many customers won't return. Store policies are too rigid including dressing room policies, and returns of items. On the 8th day, I wanted to return something, but the receipt said 'within 7 days'.. who reads the small print. I had never heard of Rainbow before, so I had no idea what to expect when I decided to check it out. There are clothes, shoes, and some accessories. The quality is well... cheap. Obviously, you get what you pay for. I noticed on several different items seams falling apart even though they were hanging on the rack. And most of the leggings and some shorts were definitely see through. Everything was super affordable though (the most expensive dress I saw at the time was $15) which was cool. If only I had found clothes that I actually liked! I didn't care too much for the style (lots of graphic prints, very colorful, etc.), but I did like the $10 shoes. They failed to remove a security tag off my jacket (alarm never even went off) by the time i actuakly wore the jacket (4 weeks later) i notice the tags still hooked on inside the pocket. Since the jacket fit well & I was happy with the item, I since threw the tag away. Noticing the stupid tag was still attached, I called the store and spoke to an unhelpful worker who told me They couldn't help me with out receipt. I then asked to speak to store manager, she gets on the phone as says "yes??" Maudi tells me theres nothing They can do with out the receipt. So I call corp office in NY and file a complaint. They agree the store could of met me at the door to prove I came with the merchandise and assist me in getting the tag off since THEY are the ones who didn't remove! I wont shop there anymore. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was for the amount of selection they had. Other than that this is a store I would avoid. These employees are rude and as ghetto as retail gets. Dude working was walking around eating a slice of pizza with his greasy hands touching all kinds of merchandise. Then, you're only allowed 3 items at a time for fitting room, which had nasty broken tiles as flooring. The gals behind the counter had so much attitude and would not let me share a fitting room with my gal pal. Then when they noticed we were in same room, the bombarded the outside and yelled at us to get out. What the heck? I'm a chubby girl who values the input of her bestie. Then, upon checkout the chick downgraded my friend because she left the hangers in the fitting room... The chick straight stopped checking us out so she could tell someone to go find 2 hangers... I have been to Rainbow more than a few times and I have bought a lot of clothes from them. When I came in today 8/12/14 to turn a pair of parachute pants that were too big for me and a shirt that didn't look good on me at all, I was accused of wearing them. They said that there was a stain on the shirt that I never notices when I tried it on at home and she (the manager) said that do not put anything on the rack that is not in good shape. Which I call BS on because in the other reviews the seams were coming out being on the rack. The pants said they were worn as well because the tag was faded. Well yes the clothes have been sitting in my house around kids because I have a busy life and have 12 hour days and hadn't have time to return them. My point is I will never step foot in a Rainbow store again due to their poor decisions. Oh and she got a second opinion from over the phone.
