I reached out on insta and they said I could come in anytime during normal business hours. I decided to pop in on Black Friday and all the clothing was 30% off! Walking in, the place was packed! The standard Ross security was there, greeting me as I walked in and headed straight for the shoes. They had so many amazing shoes and brands! Two other customers walked in and were greeted warmly, calmly, and with genuine friendliness. The difference in treatment was stark. As a Black woman, that contrast didn't feel accidental--it felt like bias, and it honestly hurt. I want to be clear: the young woman who did my threading was kind and did a good job. But the way I was treated before that left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I live nearby and try to support local businesses, but I will not spend money in a place where I'm made to feel like I don't belong. No customer should walk into a business and leave feeling the way I did.
