I had a really horrible experience at this Express location. We have been long-time customers since the Structure era. I bought a suit jacket for my husband on September 28, 2025, around 11:40 AM. Since my husband wasn't with me, I was unsure if the jacket would fit, so I repeatedly asked the store associate if it would be okay to return or exchange it if needed. The gentleman assured me that I could do so. However, when I got home, the jacket didn't fit my husband. I went back to the store to exchange it on October 4, 2025, in the evening, but they didn't have the size I needed. To my surprise, they refused to process a return. The cashier and manager simply declined my request and did not acknowledge that their own employee had assured me I could return or exchange the item. If the manager reads this review, I encourage them to check the store video from my original purchase on September 28, 2025. The transaction was for $76.09, and it's clear that their employee misled me just to make the sale. It is wrong to provide false information to customers. I asked for a simple opinion and picked up on her attitude right away. She was very dismissive. I then asked her for a fitting room and she just takes off towards them, with zero response back to me. In part two of my "end of decade" series, I would like to focus on the evolution of the Express Clothing store (not to be confused with the Express Clothing Store Outlet). Ten years ago I vividly remember walking to the Downtown Plaza with a friend who was an avid Express shopper. He swore by their slim fit dress shirts and dress pants (this dude was literally a walking Express advertisement-pre-Instagram). Although he was always impeccably dressed, I couldn't fathom paying $50 for a single dress shirt (that was the "sale" price at the time). Why pay $50 for a dress shirt, when I could walk to Macy's and buy an Alfani dress shirt for $20 less? Fast forward to 2019, my email inbox is constantly flooded with Express 72 hour deals. Men's dress shirts and dress pants often go on sale for $30. If you're a frequent Express shopper and are a member of the rewards program (like my wife and I), you receive monetary rewards that can land you free gear. If you're shopping around the holidays, I suggest that you keep your receipt handy and constantly monitor their prices (yes it's a lot of work). This past Back Friday, I observed that Express had a sale on men's outerwear. I found the perfect top coat that was on sale for $178 (normally $298) and secured the purchase. Two weeks later I observed that the coat was on sale for $99! I immediately called the Express customer service center and politely requested a price adjustment. The customer service representative immediately issued a credit of $80 (including tax) to my debit card. I concluded the call with a smile on my face not only because I couldn't wait to see how good I would look in my new top coat, but also because I know that someone out there probably paid full price ($298) for the exact same coat. This particular Express location has great customer service. Even during the holiday(s) frenzy, their staff appear to be unbothered, yet attentive. I have entered this store on numerous occasions and have had an employee assist me with assembling an outfit. Yes I know...they are customer service employees, not personal stylist. However, they really go above and beyond to assist you with obtaining your desired look! If you see me walking down the street, feel confident in knowing that I'm probably dressed from head to toe (minus my shoes) in Express clothing. Check out this store for their great customer service, great fitted clothing, and affordable prices that will keep you looking as sharp as a knife (as my dad loves to say)! read more

When it comes to my my general attire, it's safe to say that most of my wardrobe is from Express. Express is that place you go when you want something stylish and classy, for the everyday, or for business/business casual. From their men's attire, over the years I've purchased slacks for work, a nice simple suit, jeans, graphic tees, fitted dress shirts, dress shoes, jackets, ties, and sweaters. Express' clothing is always stylish and is in with the trends, and a big thing for me is that the clothing fits well. A Large fits lite a large, and not like a Medium, and now with more Americans being into fitness and not having the typical body measurements. Express has even come out with jeans with stretchable fabric for men. Which was a bummer for me at at point, as my legs stopped fitting comfortable in the jeans that fit my waist. I'm a 30x32, but in standard jeans was having to get 32-34x32 to fit comfortably. With all of the business that I've done there, I also get the monthly discount coupons and attire which is also really helpful as you can get up in price with several items. So I'll definitely take $50-75 dollar savings at checkout! Also the sale reps are always really helpful here, and always great you when you walk in or walk by. This location majorly lacks customer service. I went yesterday early in the morning. I was thrilled when I walked in the store and it was actually pretty dead. Hardly any patrons around, yet several associates (maybe 4-5). My concerns are as follows: - I arrived and asked to pick up my order but wanted to try them on first. I was walked back to fitting rooms where the associate took about 5-10 minutes to scan each bag of my order in. I mentioned several times that I also wanted to try these clothes on but after she scanned the items, she took off. Before I could say a word a line had formed for the fitting room and the other associate just looked at me with a "I'm sorry" face and took the other patrons to the fitting room ahead of me. - Once I finally got into my fitting room I began trying on my items. One pair of jeans were advertised as high-rise online but had mid-rise on the tag. I put them on and I knew they weren't a good fit for my body. I opened up the door and explained the situation to an associate and she said that the pants are high-waisted, not high-rise. I then asked for a few pairs of jeans that were high-rise in a size 8. The associates looked annoyed but left to get my items. I waited for 10 minutes and heard that same associate walking around and helping others. I opened the door and made eye contact with her and she rushed away, I assume to get me the jeans I requested. When she returned she had two pairs of jeans and said they were high-rise but didn't check the sizing on them and then tried to hand them to me to try on. I asked her what size they were and she said, "Oh they are 00." I repeated that I am a size 8 and need jeans in that size. She as even more annoyed and left and came back with 1 pair of jeans in a size 8 and told me, "Here I brought you these but if you want more, you can go get them yourself at the table in the middle of the store." Then she took off. - There was a long line to check out every time I went to the front. Patrons are waiting and there was 1 associate checking out. I noticed all of the other associates standing around and chatting or trying to look busy. I will not be coming back to this location. What should have a been a very quick shopping trip turned out to be 2 hours. I spent almost $500 and I was treated more like an annoyance than anything else. read more

I love Express but this location is terrible. The management I've interacted with for returns, exchanges, etc are really unprofessional and quite rude. I'm pretty patient, I've worked retail and have no idea how a couple of them still have jobs. They are condescending if you try to use a discount or apply your purchase to your Express rewards account. Seems like it's too much work for them. Bottom line, drive to another location, order online, or shop somewhere else. read more

This place is the worst, I love shopping at express but the staff here are lazy and don't care for your questions. I went here and spent about 600-700$ and a couple of my items were a dress shirt I asked them if they had the collar stays for the collar when I was checking out. The lady at the register then walked to the manager and asked her then I noticed the manager walked her to the table and gave her something, me assuming it was the collar stays and she placed it in a small bag then into my shopping bag. The funny thing is when I got home I realized it was a bunch of garbage she gave me. She could've easily said she didn't have any or it doesn't come with any but what they did was give me a small bag of garbage then placed it in my shopping bag. Can you believe it? I went in looking for something festive for my daughter's opening night and clothes for work. I wandered around looking for the right size. I should note, that was not hard to do. Good thing because no one was willing to help me. There was a pair of shoppers who were lavished with attention. I was literally right next to them and I had to ask for a dressing room. That was the only time anyone spoke to me. While trying on clothes no one asked if i needed another size or color. I went through the rest of the store, duly ignored. I decided not to spend $500 and moved on. I guess I'll add that I'm 43 years old. I carry an expensive bag and do not look like a derelict. read more

I came in on January 22, 2020 because I needed some new clothes for a new job I got. The salespeople are very friendly and patient, and are always willing to check the back stock for sizes that may not be on the sales floor. During my visit, Faviola was super helpful and worked with me to find the items I needed. Then she helped me out at the register when there was in issue with my desired items not scanning and registering properly. I like EXPRESS' clothing styles, but I do with that they carried their pants in a non-slim fit style. If you're athletic and have somewhat thicker thighs, they can tend to get tight around the thighs when you sit or give you those dreaded crotch creases. read more

I like this Express location just as much (and maybe a little more) than the Roseville location. The women's section is huge and takes up more than half the store! It's mostly contained to the left side of the store where they have sweaters and more casual seasonal items in the front. Keep walking back and you will get to the accessories and then the more formal office wear and the dressing rooms. From there go to the middle of the store where you will find the cash registers and even more women's clothing! This section is their Express One Eleven clothing and the most casual of them all. You can find leggings, t-shirts and workout wear and it might just be my favorite part of the store. The men's side of the store is on the right, but no one cares. I made the mistake of coming in less than a week before Christmas. The inside of the store wasn't too busy but they had a rather long line. They had all registers going, but the checkout process can be a little slow. Regardless I will definitely be back. I like Express because they have sleeves long enough for my 5'8.5" arms! read more

I walked in today so to a simple return or maybe even exchange some shirts my boyfriend got, so I started browsing around for a different size and I noticed something odd...I overheard an employee state "think she's stealing she has a forever 21 bag" first of all ITS A FUCKING MALL everyone has bags from other stores ! I brushed it off and walked to the counter where I met 2 more employees observing my forever 21 bag so I purposely opened it so they could see I had my own shit in there. Proceeded with the return as I just wanted to get out of that place and on my way out 2 more employees were at the door speaking into their headsets. Seriously the worst experience ever. Was a bit wary before stepping into this place. I started a new job and needed quite a bit of office appropriate clothing. Having been to several different stores in the Arden Fair mall and recieving horrible service in each one, I popped a Valium to take down the nerves. I expected pushy salespeople and if not pushy, ones that looked at you like you are scum. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted nicely as soon as my bf and I entered. While I was very happy that I didn't have a salesperson on my back the whole time, I do wish that someone had noticed that I was having difficulty holding all the clothes I had picked out and started a dressing room for me. Oh well, it was a busy Sunday and having worked retail for the past five years, I know it can be hard to keep a track of each and every one customer's needs. It would have helped if the associates in the dressing rooms were paying attention to the growing line of ladies instead of chatting. We all stood in line, thinking all the rooms were full when one of the girls looked up and said, "Oh! you guys were waiting for me!" Um. Yeah. Although she redeemed herself by being genuinely apologetic. I found FOUR, count 'em, FOUR BUTTON-UP shirts that DIDN'T GAP at the chest AND fit my waist. I also walked away with a great wrap-dress and a gorgeous pencil skirt w/thin belt (I had been lusting after the same exact style at Nordstroms, this one was $60 cheaper!). They also had a deal that if you spent $75 you get $15 off. Nice! Yes, their styles are a bit boring but for those youngins going into an office work-environment, they've got some fresh colors/cuts that are appropriate while not making you look like you're borrowing your mama's clothes. read more

I'll confess, I never stepped foot into Express despite shopping at Arden Fair for many years. It always struck me as the sort of store that skinny pretty trendy people shop at and that's not really my jam. Then I lost a ton of weight, needed a new pair of dress pants and didn't know where to look- that's when multiple girlfriends sang Express's praises and I finally checked it out. Glad I did! I walked in not even knowing what area of the store to look in; thankfully a super friendly sales rep spotted me and offered help. He asked what I was looking for as I walked towards him, I said "black dress pants", he gave me a quick up and down look and said "Let's see, size 2- this way, hun!" I tried to politely interject, as he grabbed multiple pairs for me to try on, that there's no way in blue hell that I'm a size 2, and I insisted on taking a few size 4 and 6 pants in with me to the dressing room. I don't know how he could tell from half a room away (and without even looking at my backside) exactly what my size would be, but those size 2 pants fit like a dream. I almost got misty... I am wearing skinny pretty trendy clothes and they fit and look fab! After I emerged triumphantly from the dressing room, my sales guy asked if I needed anything else- sure, I'm in a great mood now, LET'S SHOP! I ended up buying the pants, a pencil skirt, a dress shirt and a couple of cute graphic tees. I've been a regular shopper here ever since. Their casual clothes are the preppy-trendy sort that I usually don't go for (though I occasionally find something I want) but I love their professional wear and their dresses. I just shopped their after-holidays clearance sale and got $70 pants for $23, and almost bought a $80 cocktail dress for around $30. Check Express out the next time you're at Arden, shop their sales (which they seem to always have running) and sign up for their emails for even more savings. read more

Clothes: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5 (after coupons/sales) My friends know most of my clothes come from here. I'm trying to stop though. Really! Well, I kind of have to because I'm running out of money. At first, it may seem overpriced, but they ALWAYS have some sort of coupon or promotion. So NEVER pay full price. Go online and look for their promos before you come. Also there's an app you can download to see if they have promos that activates when you check near the store. I don't have a smart phone so I don't know how that goes beyond that :( Their "shop the box" clearance sales occur every few months when stuff is usually pretty damn cheap. Things get tosses around a lot, so you might have to do some digging in those cardboard boxes. Yes, I said cardboard boxes, get over it! When they have these clearances, the coupons won't work. Even though I do not like the mall it is located in, I REALLY DO LIKE THIS PARTICULAR EXPRESS STORE. They're one of the top 100 Express stores so they do carry a lot more items than the other locations (Roseville and Downtown). The store is kept pretty decent. Could be more better arranged because I do feel as though some things are scattered & that makes it difficult to find a particular item sometimes. ESPECIALLY when they have stuff on sale. Which trust me, I am not complaining about. But it does get a bit hectic. They need to be on top of their game with recovery. Their customer service is okay. Some people are more sweet and welcoming than others...I did get the help I needed. Even though at times, I find myself having to search for a minute for an available sales associate. I notice that this store always offer to get a fitting room ready for me which I do appreciate. But there's really never anyone around the fitting room area or close-by to help me if I were to need them. But they do come back here and there to check how everything is which is good enough for me. Overall, Express is a great place to find business casual clothing. They have great women blouses and I absolutely love Express jeans. They carry a wide range of styles AND fits. I've bought all of their skinny jeans that comes in "short". This location offers the most denims to choose from. I love it. **Their stuff are really excellent quality & it is totally worth the price. Yes, it is a bit on the pricier side, BUT! Do not let that discourage you for they are always having promotions and sales. And there are tons of coupons out there for this store from time to time. Online AND in-stores. My son and I were in search of a suit and rehearsal dinner outfit for him for my brothers wedding and from start to finish, the Manager Gina and her staff were exceptional to us! They helped my son put together the suit and outfit he had envisioned, with the right fit (he is so hard to shop for and his measurements usually require tailoring, but not this time, thank goodness) and style for this occasion and it meant so much to us! For the size of the store, their selection was actually fairly small. I came at the beginning of the summer season, so it's understandable that everyone was out shopping, especially with the awesome 40% off summer sale they had going. However, some items that were very plentiful just weren't there in Medium. Strange, huh? Otherwise, the store is a pretty typical Express. They have a great selection of jeans, dress shirts, polos, and shorts. Huge discount bins of unwanted items, amongst which I could barely find anything that looked half decent; pink dress shirts with blue stripes, and other items of that sort. Great service as well. Always someone to help you out but not too pushy asking you if you need help literally every 5 minutes. Believe me, I've experienced that at an Express store before. Although this is one huge store for both men and women, the checkout was fairly fast. Although they guy had no idea how to apply my coupon, he figured it out in the end and I walked off with a polo and a pair of shorts for $30. Score! read more

The one extra star is only for the customer service I received. I went in to buy a few men's shirts and wasn't sure about sizing - two store attendants ran around the store trying to find the right size and color until we had found a match! Their customer service was super and I was feeling really satisfied with my visit! Then I got to the Express checkout line. And all that flew STRAIGHT out the window. There's this little hub of checkout sections (four total) and there's three people working. I thought the wait to checkout would be around 20 minutes, kinda reasonable. NOPE. I waited 1 HOUR in line to checkout and it was a short line. They didn't call any cashiers to man the fourth station the whole time and everyone in line's holding hella stuff.. I was holding four dress shirts. All in all it was a frustrating experience and I dread going back into Express again. The same thing happened to me at the Roseville location too - and there's only three cashier stations there. It's a nightmare and they need to get way more efficient - but at least when I was in the store the customer service was decent! I find it can be a hit or miss at most Express locations though. read more

I have mixed feelings about Express. While I much prefer this location over the one at Sunrise because of their variety, it really is hit-or-miss. Sometimes they have a wonderful selection of clothing, while other times you can't find a thing you would want to try on in there. Their salespeople are pretty friendly. Whenever I visit this store, there is always someone there to greet me and ask me if they can help me find anything in particular. They are also knowledgeable about the clothes they carry and are there to help if you have any questions or just need an honest opinion about an outfit. I have to say that I do love their sales! I really see no need to pay full price for anything here, as most everything goes on sale eventually. They have promotions going on often and you frequently get e-mailed coupons. Got two pairs of producer dress pants and two sweaters for under $150. As of right now, they have buy one dress pant, get the other for $39.99. And you can used their discount on top of that. Being a place that has high prices I would expect high dollar costumer service. I have been shopping here forever and even worked for this company. Their costumer service has gone to crap and their return policy has significantly changed for the worst. I am a loyal express shopper but the last few times have put a bad taste in mine and my husbands mouths. I think we will soon be taking out $$$$ of dollars we spend here yearly for ourselves and as gifts elsewhere. Very disappointing. After only receiving attitude from a gentleman that worked there and no help whatsoever I went to pay for something else and asked Lucia if she would be able to tell me a reference number or something so i can find those pants again.
