I was on the hunt for a backpack to take with me on an upcoming vacation and I knew that I wanted a horror themed one so we decided to check out Hot Topic while shopping at the Folsom Outlets last weekend. I skimmed the slim backpack section and didn't see anything I liked so we looked around and found a couple of other items instead. While I was in the check out line, my husband called me over and showed me a backpack that I can't believe I missed - a Gilmore Girls themed one! I know I said I was looking for a horror one, but I do love the Gilmore Girls, so much so, that I am currently rewatching the whole series right now. The price tag said $60 so I was hesitate to spend that much on a backpack, but after some convincing from my husband, I decided to go for it. When I got to the counter, they were having a BOGO 50% sale and the employee also told me that the backpack was an additional 50% off so I ended up buying 2 items for less than the full price of the backpack! Overall, I'm so happy I found what I was looking for - I am obsessed with the backpack and can't wait to use it next week! Staff at the counter were also very nice, personable and attentive and I appreciated everything he did to help us save some money! We will be back! Check them out! read more

The staff members greeted us right away and checked to see if we had any questions or were looking for anything specific. We were just browsing so we made our way around the store. We appreciated that there were a lot of old and new references, bands, and characters represented around the store and a lot of the current items were like a flash back to the early 2000's. They had some deals going on, and the selection was great when we stopped in. We would definitely stop in again when we're shopping in the area. read more

This location is small but has a nice selection. Sometimes only this location will have certain items in stock. This store is one of the main reasons I still visit the outlets. The staff is friendly and helpful whenever I've visited. They often have a buy one, get a second one 30% sale and jewelry is often buy one, get a second one 50% off. read more

I have to admit that this is a much more convenient location to visit versus say the Arden Mall. It's located at the Folsom Outlets, of course, and there's always some deal or promo to be found. Last visit it was buy two t-shirts anywhere in the store, get one free. On top of that we also received 10 percent off military with ID. Very good deals! Great selection. This is one of my favorite Hot Topic Stores.. Honestly I love every store. This particular store though is great. Austin who is one of the managers at Hot Topic help me out my past couple of visits and he's great. Good service too. I was just here yesterday afternoon and had fun with a friend looking through the t-shirts. I wear a size 14 pant and it is hard to ever find my size here. But I absolutely love their pant selection!! Some that I really liked were also on sale I believe...! So anyways, I bought a beanie and gloves (not a set) and a sweatshirt, along with a Ouija lip gloss in raspberry. The store is having decent sales and upon my purchase I was loaded up with coupons for next time. I am tempted to shop here again soon. I have been a customer of Hot Topic for a while like few years since my kids love the store. I encountered issues with an online purchase that got cancelled 3xs. Unbelievable. Well, I found that this store had the HK and friends Halloween backpack. I tried to get it but I live in the south bay area by San Jose. It was impossible to get it. I kept calling and I had the pleasure to talk to Bun. She is so sweet. Without know me, she was willing to help me get this item. I was frustrated about the ordeal. Hot topic is one of my favorite stores to go when I look for collectibles and my nerdy attire. It has been a toss up between Sunrise and this location in Folsom as my favorite store. Today Folsom has not only raised the bar but put it on a whole different level. The store was clean organized and I felt comfortable. The employee there was Rebecca. She was greeting and genuinely talking to everyone coming in. When I first arrived shortly after opening it was a little slow as to be expected. As it started getting busier Rebecca kept up with absolute professionalism, pace and awesomeness. Being the only employee at the time she handled the runs to unlock the dressing room, checking out customers and answering any questions guests had. Quietly I observed from the perspective of a small business owner and mentally noted everything to write this review and impressed because these are the people you hire and trust! I never really come into this store unless my boyfriend is with me since he finds the products sold here are entertaining or interesting. Well, I'm so glad we did because they sell these cute sunglasses! They were having a sale for buy one and get the second for $1! Averaging each sunglasses at about $6! I'll take it :D There was a young girl working there with orange hair - she's super sweet and attentive! She checked on me a couple times to see if I needed help, but without the uncomfortable type of asking, but a sincere gesture. Very helpful and welcoming. My hands were full with sunglasses and I couldn't get another pair that was in the back of the rack (because I have no self control), so I asked her to help me get them. Some employees get so annoyed or irritated (even though they shouldn't anyway), but she was so nice! She was even glad to give me a hand and I truly appreciate that. It may not seem like anything special, but to me, customer service is very important. Five stars! read more

Me and 3 of my friends came in to look at some clothing for cosplay. And during our visit, the two workers were completely rude to us! I really hope they don't keep their jobs because nobody should ever have to he treated like that. We got out as soon as we could because we felt very uncomfortable and like we were degraded as humans. They made rude comments and talked to our faces like they were above us. I really wanted the jacket, and I drove us 30 minutes to get there. Not worth our time. When my friend asked the girl what her name was(so we could tell the manager about it) she would not tell him her name. I will not be returning to there again, because honestly I feel horrible after this whole experience. I hope the manager sees this. read more

Staff was very helpful and friendly. They joked around with us and discussed common interests in their products. For some reason, the first time I went to hot topic, they took my phone number down wrong, so we had to look up my info by email. They woman at the desk was very helpful assisting me in changing my rewards card Information in the system. I bought some sunglasses on sale buy one get one free, and one didn't have the tag on it. That was the only downside for me, because the glasses I got were the last ones of that kind on the rack, so it took them a while because they couldn't find the code for the glasses. But they used team work to figure something out and rung me up right after. read more

This place sort of reminded me of a Taco Bell Express (you know, where it's technically owned by Taco Bell, but they don't even have the full menu?). Staff wasn't super helpful nor were they rude, mainly just indifferent. The store initially looks like it has a lot of products, but compared to a regular Hot Topic location, this outlet version has major gaps. In terms of their pricing, I didn't feel their promos were any better than the ones you can get in a regular Hot Topic location or on their website. I can't see any benefit of coming here as opposed to coming to the real Hot Topic, unless you happen to live in Folsom. In the meantime, I will continue to shop their website and save myself the drive to Folsom, since I didn't think this location was worth it at all. read more

Went on a Sunday afternoon .. they had 3 people but only 1 actually working the register. I stood in line and didn't even get acknowledged until about 5 minutes later. Quite rude. It wasn't even busy. Only 2 other customers in the store. I really can't complain as I still love going to Hot Topic even though I'm not a teenie and more of a young adult. I mainly go in for their vinyl collection or small nick nacks. Occasionally I'll walk out with a bundle of band shirts. What I like about this store compared to Arden, Sunrise, and Galleria is that this store stretches out more in the back. Which I found interesting since it's at a mall outlet. Things were arranged neatly, which is a shocker for those who go to Hot Topic a lot. Everyone was nice! I went during their promotion for Doctor Who as it was returning for the new season. I questioned why they played a T-Pain song and they switched it for me I think to Yellowcard. If you're going to the Folsom Outlets, parking is complex and gets crowded quick. It's right across from a PacSun. Everyone is nice and it's not crowded, or it wasn't during the time of day I went.
