After running by it several times, I made an assumption that there'd only be LGBTQ+ related items in Strapping. After a coworker told me I had to check it out, I realized I was so wrong. This place is chock full of fun for the whole family. Well, maybe there's a few things I wouldn't want my grandma and little cousins to see. But nothing in here is going to hurt anyone and you'll probably laugh out loud several times walking through this store. This store is cute I have to stop by everytime I'm near by eating lol. It's very entertaining and fun to see everything they have . It's small but very well organized with lots of fun local things to shop for . I know they carry the Jazzy sauce which I can't be with out . The Jazzy sauce is sold at the farmers market on Saturdays but you can find the sauces here . Which it's very convenient for me since I don't live near the area . This was my first time coming to this gift shop. I love the convenience of it being located on the corner of the street in the middle of Sacramento. The store itself has lots of variety for special gifts including stickers, socks, candies, and other things. The cashier who was working at the time gave very good service and was super helpful in any questions that I had. I would love to come back here again and spend a little more time. Giving 2 stars for a few different reasons - one, went today at 5:45pm and it was all locked up, even though this yelp listing has the location open until 7, and the sign on the door said 6pm. Besides the early close with no sign and the hours of operation in two locations being wrong, this location has had barely any inventory for months. You are not going to find Snow Angel figurines and lace Dollie's here. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with owning them (I do). Just sayin the shop has inventory with a more modern vibe than that. They have greeting cards, socks (men and women sizes), stickers, mugs, kitchen towels, magnets, notepads,candles, pillows, etc., etc. etc. Tons of stuff priced at various levels that won't break the bank. Most of the items are crafted and sourced from local businesses and artists. The meaning of buying local is pumped up a level here. Awesome! The shop address is 1731 L Street right on the corner. We were walking by and decided to stop by because everything do so freaking cute. It's a small store and it's right on the corner so you can't miss it. It's a small store but there is so much they have. This is a great store to get someone a unique gift. I purchased my nephew a gift and my husband a cactus tin mug. My son of course wanted everything but I did let him get a plastic dinosaur. What I loved most is my son was undecided the attendance at the front waited for my son to make a decision then rang me up. Strapping's second and newer location is just as appealing and original as the first in Oak Park. It's a store dedicated to thoughtful gifts, knick knacks, cards, novelties and even clothing, and it's all wonderfully selected by the team behind the scenes. This is a must-stop - especially if you're looking for that elusive gift to appease the friend who has everything. First off, applause for their adherence to keeping people safe during COVID. I waited outside briefly as they were required to keep the store to a certain minimum capacity. It's not as big as the store in Oak Park, but it still has the same selection of goodies. A lot of it is friendly and uplifting to minority communities, which I also appreciate. I ended up buying a bunch of stocking stuffers, some stickers and some cards. All things I know my fam will appreciate. Applause, again, for their sense of humor. A lot of what they select has funny messages on it. Like laugh out loud funny. It's important to select the right stock for your shelves, but it's arguably even more important to be able to laugh - especially in times like these. read more

UPDATE: Susan the owner reached out to me and asked what happened as she was at another location this day. She was very kind and apologetic about how her employee handled the situation and said that typically they let the parent decide whether or not their child wears a mask. I really hope that worker learns a lesson and doesn't treat anyone else with disrespect. What an absolute joke. I walked in here with the 3 year old I nanny after we had a nice lunch to just walk around. I asked the brunette girl working the front if she had another mask since mine just broke. She handed me two and I put one in my purse and put the other one on while I was still talking to the little boy. She interrupted me and said "put it over your nose" so I said sure and did. Mind you, I have a medical condition where it's hard for me to breathe. Then she asked me to put one on the little boy. I said he's too little. She said I'm pretty sure the rule is 2 years old. I said I'm not putting a mask on this little child?! He's 3. Then she proceeded to loudly and rudely kick me out of the store and yelled that I'm banned forever lol. If for some reason they don't have what you're looking for, then the Oak Park location is likely to have it. Each of their storefronts are very welcoming and have inclusive vibes. All are welcome (especially dogs). My dog Jefe knows when we are a block away and will drag me in because he knows who has the treats. While he is scarfing it down, I get to look around and shop. The service is above and beyond. There has been an occasion when the midtown location didn't have something but they knew that Oak Park did. They offered to bring it over for me! Wow! I highly recommend shopping here for gifts for your friends and loved ones. The selection of thoughtful cards and gifts very broad. You can find something for everyone. Great gift shop! Went to both locations in the Sacramento area and had a blast looking through their selections each time. Staff are ALWAYS super fun, chill, and great to talk to. Though they offer help, I just take my time going around the store hoping to find some nice gifts/trinkets for friends. I love this store. I'm so excited that they opened a location in Midtown just a block away from my second favorite business in Sacramento, Ginger Elizabeth. Strapping sells the cutest, most fun gifts and decor, and they've got all the Golden Girls and unicorn items that my heart desires! There's something for everyone here especially if you've got a good sense of humor. (I bought a tea towel that says "I'm a lady in the street but a freak in the buffet" lol.) Things I've bought from Strapping: greeting cards, socks, tea towels, mugs, stickers, pens, pouches, decorative pillows, lunch bag, and magnets, among many other things. I recommend checking out their Instagram page, @strappingstore, to see the latest arrivals. There's also a link to their online store on their IG page, with options for store pickup and nationwide shipping. If you're in the area though make sure to stop by as they have products in store that they don't sell online. The Midtown shop is smaller than the Oak Park location, but it's bright and super cute inside. And did I mention it's only a block away from Ginger Elizabeth?! :p They've got an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser and social distance markers on the ground by the register which I think is awesome. A really cool thing about the store is that they support the local community in so many different ways. For example, today they are donating 10% of all sales to the California Youth Forum for students with disabilities. I've loved shopping at Strapping for years! My dog loves it, my mom loves it, we all love it. I always get one of the unique dog toys for my pup and a sticker or two at LEAST. It's hard to pick because there's so much cool stuff. Great selection of mugs for the collector in your life (yourself). If you're on the fence about Strapping just go you'll love it. I've been to the midtown location the most but also love shopping in Oak Park, and I just need to check out the Ice Blocks location to maybe decide on a favorite? Who can decide. read more
