I just had one of the best shopping experiences in a long time. I've been desperate to improve my dart play and didn't know where to go. Every online search brings me to A-Z which is a 2 1/2 drive each way. Wayyy worth it!!!! Steven and Mari both helped me and let me take my time trying out darts. Steven gave me a couple suggestions (actually some huge pointers) that got me throwing better straight away. I bought a new set of darts, some accessories and a new board. All the prices were super competitive to you know who. Rumor has it the owner offers lessons which I will be contacting him for asap. I spent over an hour in the shop and customers were coming and going and everyone got the same attention. This place is worth checking out!!! Customer service, willingness to assist. Went on a Monday morning, a friend and I were the only customers. Ask to view some dart flights, shafts and dart sets. Showed the person helping us my darts so she knew what I needed. She said I would need to know the sku numbers for her to get me what I wanted to see. I asked to see anything that would fit my current set of darts, but was told they couldn't do that. So I asked if I could walk a little closer to see what was on display on the wall and pick some out. Instead I was told I couldn't get any closer and was told to find what I wanted on my phone then show her what I was looking for. It didn't get any better, the store has nice selection, but that last experience was a very disappointing one. The guy did a horrible job with installing my new cue tip. He obviously rushed it before his lunch break or something because I was surprised they finished it so fast. The lady mentioned that he was going on break soon and I said that's completely fine just call me when it's finished. This is my first time changing my tip so I didn't know what was good and what wasn't until everyone around me told me how shitty of job it was. Did not shave & shape the tip, literally looked like a mushroom tip. I had to get my other friends to fix it. Charged me a premium for this service. read more

The boys and I needed to start our new hobby of becoming some certified dartists. We trekked out to Sacto to check out this massive store. They had an entire wall of the warehouse-sized building filled with dart options that we practically drooled over while knowing nothing about them. The store had pool tables, pool cues, and other table game supplies but to be honest if its not darts I don't even want to think about it. After feeling bewildered and gawking at everything for a while, our dart god descended upon us in the form of a man named Steven. He let us try a bunch of different dart sets so we could feel the power that these little tungsten barrels hold within. Steven helped us through every step of the way and explained every part of the dart, flight, and tips that we could need. He was super knowledgeable about the manufacturing process as well as informing us how to wield our new hobby weapons of choice. Things were getting pretty serious and eventually the boys and I all dropped fat stacks of dough on some sick sets of darts and I haven't looked back since. There was no pressure to buy anything extraordinary and Steven was hella chill about all of our plebeian questions the whole time. There were dart sets within all price ranges and levels of quality available so anyone can get access to their dart-boy-era. 10/5 stars, great experience and customer service by Steven. Very bad customer service on both times myself and a brother went there. We had questions and they acted like we should've known. How would anyone feel if you were getting back into Darts and they make you feel about this big. The first employee we asked about something looked and acted like she didn't want to be there. I found the store online and loved the selection that they offered. However, I am newer to the sport and didn't really know what I would like. As such, I decided to make a day of it and invited our dart team to join me for the day to test out some darts. All 5 of us headed out and made the drive from San Jose to Sacramento just to check out the store. We entered the store and were immediately thrilled by the selection that we saw as we walked in. We were immediately greeted by Chloe and I asked if they had a restroom since we had just sat in the car for two hours. Here is roughly how the conversation went: Chloe: Sorry we don't have public restrooms. Me: Dang are you sure we just drove two hours to get here. Chloe: That's our policy and my answer is not going to change. Understandably, Chloe doesn't know me nor my tone, but I still felt this could have been handled differently. This was the start of our rocky relationship. Here is how our interactions went after that: Interaction 2: After coming back from the bathroom at the Taco Bell next door, I was browsing their selection and Chloe noticed I was looking at soft tip darts. She then exclaims, "Those are the soft tips." I was unbothered since I was browsing. She then mutters, "You do you." Interaction 3: I'm browsing a bit more. At this point I had already been working with Maritza and tested a few options. Chloe comes over to our area, but I ignored her presence because of our first two interactions. She then mutters, "I'm just going to walk away." I chose to ignore this and continued to work with Maritza. As you can see, Chloe and I had quite a short tempered relationship that is best not be continued. Chloe could use some training and education on customer service from Maritza. Maritza is freaking awesome and we absolutely loved her. She was extremely patient with all 5 of us and allowed us to test multiple options. She was also very knowledgeable on the topic and gave us advice on what we might like. To her credit, we ended up spending a collective $600.00. Had we not driven as far as we had, Chloe would have been the reason to leave. Overall, I would revisit the store because they have a great selection, but I would avoid Chloe at all costs and would advise anyone else to do so as well. read more

I was so excited to visit this store and buy my Husband all his Christmas presents. I had been looking at it online and could see that they had everything that I was looking for. I will always choose a small business over Amazon so I made the hour trek to Sacramento to check it out. I called the day before and spoke to a very nice Guy to make sure that they still had a good selection of things in stock. It was everything that I had been hoping for. Great selection and reasonable prices for a small business. The only reason this place wasn't 5 stars for me was how unbelievably rude the young lady was that was working. I was Asking questions about the merchandise so I could be sure to get the right things and I just couldn't believe how incredibly unfriendly she was being towards me. A nice Gentleman that was doing his own shopping caught onto it and was actually going out of his way to help me and answer some of my questions. It was appalling. The store itself is nicely stocked and has a great selection of a lot of different things. The dog was very friendly as were the customers. If I hadn't of driven an hour to get there I would have turned around and walked out for how I was treated. read more

I happened to notice A-Z Darts are only about 2 hours away from me and gave them a call with a question. The lady on the phone was knowledgeable and answered my question quickly, which let me place my order. Amazingly, it was delivered in less than 24 hours! I was in town visiting my old dart throwing friend and we needed some flights, etc and looked up Magic. No expectations except a deeper selection expected from a specialty store. We have been throwing for over 30 years. We were extremely impressed with the dart selection, and the boards to throw them. However, it is the relaxed and knowledgeable staff, led by the owner, John, that makes this place, Magic. My buddy and I threw as many darts as we wanted and John, sitting next to the boards, began giving us grip and throw corrections and form suggestions. It was enlightening and generous. Good selection of darts at fairly reasonable prices. Staff are also very helpful and will let you throw as much as you want to get a feel for your darts. I've been playing for a little over a year now and mostly play 501 against computer opponents, so I've never received any real training on my throwing motion, and the gentleman who worked with me today gave me some pretty useful pointers to help me fine-tune my throw and pick the right darts for me. It's frankly sort of intimidating to have someone who knows how to play well watch and critique your throws (or at least it was for me), but it's well worth it to know which darts are best suited for you and how you can improve with them. I'm excited to use my new darts, and I'll definitely be returning here for my next purchase. read more

I had a really bad experience with capital billiards and found this place(so glad i did) from searching on google, told them about it and what i needed, they were supportive of my situation and very humble that they even gave me a discount because they felt bad about went i went through, not only that, the gentleman did an amazing job on my cue tip, they wont lie to you to buy their product but only to give you factual recommendation, i bought several things from capital billiards and found that it was ridiculously the same product but practically half the price here at magic dart and billiard!!!! I strongly recommend this place to anyone that needs pool or any other equipment they sell here, im not big on darts, but as i was browsing, they had some really nice dart boards dirt cheap, dont take my word for it, go down there and see for yourself, im definitely going back!!! thanks guys!!! read more

Customer service like it used to be! We've been playing darts on a cheap entry level board for over a year. It was time to upgrade. After looking at a number of dartboards online and not being able to make a decision, we went in to the store to look them in person. Allen was super helpful, answering questions and pointing out the pros of each model they had in stock (and they had a LOT in stock!). He then let us use a few different darts on on of their boards to help figure out what we wanted to buy, The selection of darts and dart accessories is huge. They also have a huge selection of billiards/pool items and shuffleboard tables and ping pong tables... but we didn't go there... this time... We'll be back. No one else gets our dart accessories business from now on :D read more

Dont go here, they have no knowledge of what there doing! Bought a 260$ predator shaft and told them I want a thin shaft/taper. Also had a tip put on my break cue that fell off only a couple breaks later. Went back and had them put another tip on. that one fell off again mid break this time snapping the shaft. Then I find out the predator shaft they sold me isn't the smallest shaft available just the smallest they had in stock. Very bad experience don't waste your time. read more
