We go there all the time. They have a lot of great things. Yesterday, we went there for model paint. The little bottle of paint,, come in a set in a box and was hanging on the rack. The spray paint is locked up. I went yo the gal in the fabric dept. Did not know she was deaf. Do she had me talk into her phone, but no one came. Went up to thr checker and ask for someone, she said she would get someone, but again, no one came. Went back up to the front and asked again for the 3rd time. Finally, I heard over the intercom that we needed someone. She finally came and we got our paint. It really shouldn't rake 3 times walking up front. There arr never any sales associates walking around the store. Maybe you should be like other stores that have items locked up. Have a button you push for help and it goes across the intercom. Also, you music is NOT conducive for shopping. It's so depressing. You need upbeat music. We almost left yesterday because of the music. Sheesh. read more

Why does hobby lobby has such a hard time to process returns. You have to stand in the longest line. Every time!

On Friday the 25th my boyfriend and I stopped in to purchase some glow in the dark stickers for my daughter's bedroom. Although they are a tad dim, she absolutely loved them and now she can sleep and look at the stars! I would definitely recommend this store, if I wanted to buy them out when we stopped in then it's definitely worth 5 stars! Let's just say we'll definitely be back, support local and good luck leaving empty handed, thankfully my boyfriend held me back before I purchased more than we came for LOL! read more

I have spent thousands of dollars here for my crafting business and I was treated like garbage. I will never give them my business again. It makes me sick thinking about how I've spent between $10-20 thousand just at this location. An excellent addition to my neighborhood! So excited to get our very own Hobby Lobby! I went in on the third day they were open - yeah I was ready! It's in Birdcage, on the Greenback side...where the old Toys R Us used to be. Plenty of parking in front. This HL is definitely smaller than the other two HL's in Sacramento. For me, that's a plus. I get overwhelmed sometimes. Even though it's smaller, it still had all the crafty things. I bought a LOT of stuff. Great home decor. Awesome yarn department... Oh and I bought a front door mat. Customer service! The ladies that work in the art framing center our super rude. When trying to talk to one of them about matting my picture all she did was give me negative answers. The worst hobby lobby I've ever been to, customer service is 1/5 stars. They're lines are long, no sense urgency from any of the employees. I've only gone twice and both experiences have been terrible. Employees unaware of sales and what items are marked down. I've had to correct my receipt both times because of employees error. Today I met the assistant manager and he was rude and no compassion at all for mistakes made in his stores end. I recommend the Douglas hobby lobby if you're in the area. I have long avoided this store. I'm not a fan of their politics and there are not any locations close enough to home. I was in the Rancho Cordova area for my daughter's dance competition and with Carnaval around the corner, I needed more bling. I found plenty of acrylic gems and sequins in our color scheme. It definitely is much better than Michael's or Jo-Ann Fabrics. I won't drive out of my way to visit but I will order online for next year's parade. read more

SO HAPPY to have a Hobby Lobby in our neighborhood! They are definitely a TERRIFIC addition to the area. Located in the old Toys R Us store next to Lowe's they have anything and everything craft and home decor related. This store is definitely smaller than the other two in the valley so the aisle's are a bit narrow--and its hard to pass another cart--but the sheer volume of choices makes that a minor beef. The employees are very friendly and helpful and were constantly roaming the store asking folks if they needed any help--this is SO NICE to see!! The old shell of Toys R Us from our youth rises like a phoenix from the ashes in to... lets be real, toys r us of the crafty adults. I enjoyed how this HobLob location wasn't abundantly huge feeling like the other ones in the area. Walking the gauntlet of an entrance of decor in to the main store was an interesting vibe, giving ideas and suggestions of how to style the merch available for purchase. The lines didn't seem as insanely long as the Roseville location can get, which was nice with it being a smaller queuing area for that. I didn't come in here with an intent to purchase, but it was nice to see a few funny things that I did almost buy just for kicks. like cat easter towels. things you don't know you need until you see them. read more

A simple trip to Hobby Lobby for some new home decor. So I thought. As I wandered down about every aisle, my 12 & 14-year-old went on their own to look around. Naturally, my daughter whips her cell phone out of her backpack. She knows mom will call if they're away more than 5 minutes without circling back to me (Maybe I'm paranoid ‍). Reunited, with a cart piled full of things we probably didn't need, we're headed to the registers. I notice 2 police officers walking towards us. Thinking we're just crossing paths, I say hello. He returns by saying hi, we need to talk. I look behind me confused & confirmed he was talking to me. He replies yes, even he's looking confused at this point.  He goes on to say he received a report about potential theft. At this point, my daughter's eyes are welling up. She whips her backpack out unzipping it assuring him that it's empty. And, by backpack, I mean maybe 4 inches by 6-inch fashion statement type backpack.  Knowing she would never, I told her she's fine and to put her backpack back on. He glances at the cart full of stuff and looks at my son and daughter again. Still looking confused, he says, there's not a purse or any bags?  I replied, nope (I'm not much of a purse girl).  He says okay well you guys are all clear, we're good here. I'm lost for words. Calming my daughter down, I smooch her & hug her tight. Still, in a daze I stupidity, proceed to the register giving these people my money for some odd reason. She's still trying to calm herself down so I gave them the keys & told my son to take her to the car. When I make it to the car, I hop in the backseat to hug her up more. I assure her she did nothing wrong.  She cries out, I know but I knew they were watching me! My heart is breaking for her by this point. She begins to explain that when they first went to look around she got her phone out of her backpack in case I called.  She noticed a staff member staring & said she followed them around aisles.  I should add my kids are black. At this age, they're quite aware of the everything that has been going on in the last several months.  Now, I wonder how the staff was following my kids around, without noticing they didn't take anything?  Or when they saw them circle back to me every few minutes, adding to the cartload, why didn'tthey approach me? They couldn't walk up to me & have a conversation? Or did they think that her tiny backpack was filled with their $10 trinkets & her mom was somehow the mastermind behind it?  If it was 2 little white kids with blonde hair and blue eyes would the same assumptions have been made?  Was it necessary to have a 12 & 14-year-old kid questioned by police, making them feel singled out the way they did?  I'm shaken by the course of action & logic behind these employees' decisions.  So, now my 12-year daughter and 14-year-old son have got their first taste of being racially profiled. I will never shop at Hobby Lobby again! read more

This review has nothing to do with the products Hobby Lobby has - I completely agree that their shelves are well stocked and they have an abundance of products. This review towards mine and my sisters experience, just yesterday, when a rude white lady provoked my sister. We were shopping, we get in line and are standing together (keep in mind that we are paying separately, this is key). Once we get closer to the register Sister A walks toward the exit since she is not buying anything, I advance forward, and Sister B stays on the dot we came from. I then hear the lady from behind B say "Can you move up with your people." The words suggested it was a question but it most definitely did not sound like one. I hear B reply "I'm good where I'm at" and face forward. Lady then says "You're a f$)k-ing b$(tch is what you are" and the situation escalates with the lady and B exchanging words. At this point I am at the register. Two employees are looking at each other blankly and it takes them a while to ring me up. So I ask them "You two obviously are hearing what's going one right now, do you not get trained in conflict resolution?" B asks to talk to the manager as the lady continues to play the victim and claim we weren't following the rules/the law by standing on the dot. Wrong lady, we were all standing on a dot. We kept emphasizing to her that we were paying separately and even if B moved forward with me, the wait time would have been the same. Not even 5 minutes go by and the lady asks if we were done, to leave or if the cops need to be called - as if we were the one who provoked her/bothering her. We made it clear that it was her own damn fault for starting this and calling my sister a "f$)k-ing b$(tch". We were trying to get management to handle the situation. They seemed flustered; long lines with everybody watching, yet and our situation didn't seem of importance to them. All they said to the white lady was "Ma'am, if you have a problem just come to us about it okay." What we really should have done was not leave until the lady apologized for her words. But we needed to get out of there because both doors were open and bringing in terrible air from the wildfires, into the store. Management here really needs to step it up. Get your employees trained in conflict resolution. Pretty disappointing. read more

The other day I Went into Hobby Lobby with My daughter trying to find a very specific item and couldn't find it. I finally see an associate and ask her if she can help me. She motions to write and indicates that she is deaf. My daughter immediately signs back indicating that she can interpret and the next thing I know, we are flying through the store with the best customer service experience I've had in a long time (my own fault for shopping mainly at Home Depot and Lowe's but whatever). They called the cops on me, because I "looked suspicious with a stroller ". And employees were following me all throughout the store and even into the bathroom. Only to have the cop stop me at the doorway and had me turn my purse inside out, and had my daughter turn her pockets inside out too. Tried to make us out to look like criminals. it was a false alarm of course because I wasn't stealing and neither was my daughter. Hobby lobby just made themselves look really terrible. I'm never supporting Hobby lobby ever again. Fatima the manager should be ashamed of herself for reprimanding me and my daughter over a suspicion. My daughter is only 5 and was so upset because she didn't know what was happening. I saw at least 1, sometimes 2 employees around every corner .. kinda weird I know.. but the point is there was always a smiling face to either tell me or show me where an item is. They didn't seem to mind too much either like Walmart employees do, I'm just saying. The selection there is like no other store I've been to. Beautiful lay outs, tons of one item for your choices to be bountiful, and nice erray of different brands, multiple textures of fabric, colors.. vibrant colors in every department! Smelled good in there too, not all dusty smelling like... Other diy stores.. The value... Now this is the reason I gave them only 3 stars.. the value sucks to be perfectly honest with you fellow consumers. Yes they have great sales.. but do your homework people!... They hike up the price of an item, followed by a 50% off sale! Like their frames for example.. they had an average looking, nothing special 5 x 7 frame , reg. Price 12.99! Oh.. but all the frames were 50% off, so you could get it for around $7.00 which was STILL WAY TOO MUCH for that simple picture frame that should've been $4.50 to begin with.. and their little toy cars, idk if they have employees that always get first dibs on merchandise or what . But when new ones come out, where are they? They're never there.. hhhmmmmmm.. I'm just saying. Hopefully they got THAT PROBLEM dealt with over at the Auburn Blvd Walmart, as well as the Antelope Rd location. Well.. that's my review. They tell you that you can paid for a big item and come back to get it with a truck but will sell the items you already paid for and not tell you let you paid for a truck to come get your stuff than just apologize for the mistake! We just stood in line for 30 minutes while 2 poor employees were cashiering in an un-air conditioned building. The air conditioning has been down a week. I don't care about it for the customers but my goodness...those poor employees! As we stood in line we watched 5 employees up front..not cashiering. When two manager looking men were asked by a heated customer about opening more registers he said they were working on it...5 minutes later someone opened up 1 register...taking 1 next in line customer...and the end of line people rushed over. Had I not come from 2 towns over I would have walked out. I SHOULD have walked out.... like the 2 manager men did. They walked out! I went this morning and i was wearing an old sweet pants and an old teacher and the mabager a short guy in his 60s or 70s, he was stocking at the entrance and he looked at me with bad eyes and i said good morning and he didn't answer ( poor home education ) then The senior ladies working in the back area where are the stickers for $2.99, they were super rude too, i said to them ( may i see the stickers please) and she looked at me with mad eyes because she was stocking too, and she didn't move, so i couldn't see the stickers, well the only nice person there is the girl at the register, i didn't see her name but she lools like she is from India, she was the only polite person.
