Last week, I popped into Kirkland's to take a look around. (I have not been here for a few months. I have to exercise a lot of shopping self control here). Anyways, I just eaten at Shake Shack which is across the parking lot. I noticed a lot of customers leaving the shop with almost every one of them holding bags. Hmmm, my curiosity was sparked. So off I go. Everything in the shop was on sale. 50% for outdoor items (outdoor furniture, gardening decor, etc), and 30-40% off other items. They have a limited amount of furniture (bookcases, consoles, dressers, coffee/end tables, sofas) displayed in the shop and more sold online. The shop is neat and tidy but showcases a lot of merchandise, so walking around space is tight. Staff is fantastic. So friendly, helpful, engaging, and approachable. They have folks walking and working the floor. And if you are curious if Kirkland's is affiliated to Costco. Nope. It is not. Kirkland's is a home decor retail chain. It wasn't that the decor was bad or ugly-it just gave off ho-hum basic vibes. The store itself was nicely laid out and the staff were very helpful. It simply didn't have items that stood out. Very mediocre. They did have some nice smelling candles at buy one get one free, which was quite the deal. I ended up getting a few fall scents. But otherwise, Kirklands just isn't for me. read more

I drove to Folsom to buy a collar for my Christmas tree. When I walked in, two women were chatting. One greeted me and offered me a flyer, but after looking at me and then at the flyer, she suddenly changed her mind. She said something was printed wrong and that she'd "fix it" and bring one to me later. I didn't think much of it at the time and went to look for the collar. Another employee tried to help me, but the item was sold out. While we walked around, I noticed the same women handing flyers to other customers--but not to me. The whole interaction felt strange, and I ended up leaving with an uncomfortable feeling. On the drive home, I kept replaying the moment she pulled the flyer back and the way they looked at me. I have shopped in many Kirkland's in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. I enjoyed shipping in most of their stores. But this one in Folsom is a little disappointed. The store looks outstanding every time when I pass by going to the other stores in the shopping center. I always want to check them out. But sometimes I don't have time, and sometimes they close too early. Finally, I'm there! The only lady who works there gives me a pleasant greeting. The store looks good inside when I am standing just inside the front door. However, my feelings about the store keep worsening when I try to find some decoration items for my home. The store is very disorganized, and many unopened boxes all over everywhere. Everything is Jammed packed inside the store. Hard to believe how many items they are trying to load in there. I don't know how to find the stuff I want after a few minutes inside the store. I just wanted to get out of there. This store smells wonderful when you first step inside. This may be a problem for some people though who are sensitive to strong scents so be warned. I don't have issues with strong floral scents so it's always a pleasant experience for me. The scent almost makes me want to purchase something straight away. Their home decor and furniture selection is nice. It feels cozy and not super cluttered. Always something unique to look at. I've purchased a few pieces for my home here. The experience has always been great. When they have sales, the prices are better so be on the look out for that. I really enjoy looking at their wall art. I have been purchasing from this store but haven't received anything yet. I'm not happy with the speed of shipping. It's been almost two weeks and my items are still back east. In 2024 I want you to get it to me fast. Imo there is no excuse for an item to sit for 10 days before you even put a label on it. It's not acceptable to me. It's a home decor store with a country/farmhouse flavor. Prices are reasonable and the staff was friendly. They have furniture - tables, chairs, bookcases. Also decor items like lamps and prints for the walls. Also candles, decorative floral arrangements, etc. I liked a lot of items and will definitely come back when I have a specific need for a piece. I came here with my husband the other day "just to take a look". Boy were we wrong. Having never been into Kirkland (no relation to Costco), I was not sure what to expect other than expensive price tags. Boy was I wrong. Everything in the store is moderately priced and from what I can tell, a lot of the items were on sale. They sale tons of seasonal items (for us, it was Halloween), decorative things for your wall, candles you can smell a mile away, furniture, storage supplies, and more! My husband and I walked out with the following items: 1) White foyer table 2) Wall art for above our master headboard 3) Large mirror Everything was on sale. There was a small crack in the white foyer table and they gave us an additional 15% off the sale price which made our table out to be $100! Wow! The customer service was good-- it was a busy day and I could tell the associates were overwhelmed with customer questions and their line was pretty long! I felt bad for them. The people that worked in the back helped us move our items into the car (just pull up into the alley and ring the doorbell). We went later in the day so the store was a bit crazy and things were everywhere! Overall, nice store with great sale prices. Some of the things I would have no interest in, but others have just the right sophistication and style that I'm looking for. I have purchased a couple of paintings that I am very pleased with. There actually photo prints on canvas of paintings that have been touched over, giving the remarkable illusion that they are hand-painted. They have air freshener packets too, that we place in cars and closets to help get rid of that stale ass smell. This is a great place to window shop too. The first thing I thought about upon hearing of Kirkland: isn't this Costco-related? They have a side store? Cool! Wrong. So wrong. Think of it as Pier One meets Cost Plus World Market, or any other home goods store you've stepped into. I'll admit it's a pretty cool store. There's a variety of artwork and small furniture for your home. A great place to gather a few ideas as to what to put on that empty wall in your home, or which accent piece of furniture you can place next to the sofa. I had to further research this place a few days ago, since there's not one in the Los Angeles area. The closest one in SoCal is either in the Lancaster area, or one in Temecula. It'd be nice if they were a bit closer to home. The prices were really reasonable and the product quality was really good. Please consider a SoCal location! read more

Dropped by here with my MIL & hubby a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at how cheap their prices were for such beautiful items. Tons of vases, wall decor, garden decor, pillows, mirrors, baskets, art ... you name it. They constantly have sales and always give out coupons via email, which they will happily scan off your smart phone. My MIL went a little crazy there and bought a bunch of very cool items like a nearly 6 foot tall Marilyn Monroe framed art piece, 4 buffet table items, and some lit up cherry blossom trees. I went into Kirkland's a couple of weeks ago and had a really great experience with one of the managers there named Jennifer. I've had a blank wall in my house for nearly 3 years because I just couldn't find something that would fill it to my liking. Anyways, Jennifer helped me create an absolute beautiful gallery wall. I showed her pictures of my living space so that she knew what she was working with and the decor in the adjacent room. She was so patient with me and had TONS of great ideas. A beyond frustrating experience where their Sacramento store was out of stock for a hanging lamp (they would not sell the floor model), they said it was in stock at the Folsom Store. Only to find out they did not have it. They said they would order it. Went to pick it up. Found it was coming on a different truck. Family member went to pick it up later only to be given the wrong model which we did not realize until after the family member left the store. Kirklands is Cost Plus plus Pier 1 with a side of Marshall's, but classier and less expensive. And I am obsessed. You can find anything here from sconces to vases to mirrors (of all sizes and very, very reasonably priced!) to window treatments to candles (that smell heavenly!) to rugs to wall art to chairs, desks and tables... Anything you can imagine to decorate a home. And did I mention classy and inexpensive?? The staff here are customer service driven without being pushy. I am definitely a fan. Purchased a lamp online to be picked up at the Palladio Kirkland's. Drove 1 hour to pick it up. Took them about 30 mins to find the order, that was ok because I got to look around the store. The lady brought my box up and asked if I want to look at it, I told her no. Both hers and my mistake. Got home unpackaged the box, the lamp is broken. Called the store the lady said just bring it in and we will exchange it. Got there a few days later to exchange it. They had none in stock. They told me they could order it but it was on back stock and it would take a few week to get it or I can go to the Sacramento store to exchange it. They called the Sacramento store to make sure they had one. The lady told me to take my receipt and they will give me a new one leaving the broken one there. They assured me that they spoke with Sacramento and it will be a smooth transaction. Then the lady chased my boyfriend in the parking lot and told him we actually have to return it and then you can purchase it from the Sacramento store. This place obviously doesn't know what they are doing and have very weak customer service skills. I am NOT a happy customer. Oh and by the way, this was my very first purchase from Kirkland's nice first impression huh?!? I'll stick to my Home Goods and Target for my home decor. read more
