Honestly, I don't shop at World Market enough, but while in Folsom last weekend, my friend and I decided to stop in. What's not to like? There are snacks, chocolates, candles, coffee syrups - even self care items! Most items are from around the world - they even had a whole display of different Sakes! I love their mugs and glasses so much - I bought a mushroom shaped glass for my coffee that was on clearance! They also have a great selection of throw pillows and other home decorating items. I think World Market is a great place for finding unique gifts or items from your home - some items are pricy, but if you're lucky, they usually have a nice selection of marked down items. Everything was well organized and the staff was really welcoming! I'll be back to this location the next time I am in Folsom! Check them out! read more

Oh I luv World Market. They have super cool merchandise. They are a chain retail shop specializing in imports and domestic home furnishings, decor, housewares, apparel, gifts, and imported food. The imported food is my favorite section. Right now the shop is loaded with Easter items (basket, candy, toys, home decor) perfect to create that special Easter basket and decorate your home. The food section has a selection of coffee, tea, jams, cookies, snacks, candy, sauces, and dry goods from around the world. To name a few... they had frankfurters in glass jars from Germany; hazelnut spread from 5 different countries including Spain; English tea from united ted Kingdom Sri Lanka; different varieties of mochi from Taiwan; and variety of cookies from various countries. Pricing is comparable and some are cheaper than the domestic counterparts at my local grocery store. This section is in the back left corner of the shop. I also like their selection of furniture ... lamps, sofas, dining sets. The various styles are farmhouse, bohemian, modern contemporary, and mid century. Pricing is not outrageous. The shop in Folsom is clean, organized. Staff are kind. Like all other shops, gone are the days where extra staff walk the floor providing assistance. I am working very close by this store. It's my favorite quick stop by everytime i need urgent sugar treats. i always come here for their various chocolate bars. At world market you can find a lot of cool stuff which's imported from around the World from food to household / decorations / unique gifts. I think I've been shopping at this World Market for like, twenty years. Time flies... What I love most about this World Market is the selection of international gourmet foods. Irish potato chips, Italian Calabrian peppers, Japanese Kit-Kats, and so much more can all be found here. They also have a decent array of wine and alcohol. They have more flavors of Fever Tree soda than I've seen anywhere else, along with every imaginable flavor of Torani, as well as some other international sodas. If you ever find yourself in need of tiny picnic supplies, World Market is the place to go. I was very impressed by their huge selection of miniature charcuterie. This World Market also carries lots of useful and unique kitchen gadgets, including everything from cute dining plates, to a full range of Lodge cast irons and accessories. Across the store, there is a small but very well-curated selection of furniture, usually consisting of lounging chairs and small sofas, lamps, and home decor. The front corner of the store is kind of a potpourri of gifts and greeting cards. The seasonal selection varies so widely that it's hard to even describe. It's the perfect place to find something unique that you won't be able to find anywhere else. Sometimes, they have really cute jewelry. Sometimes, they have dolls from other parts of the world. The selection is constantly changing. The one thing about this store that can be kind of irritating is the poor price labeling. In the very back of the store, there is a lot of clearance mixed in with full-priced products. It can be hard to tell what's on sale, and what's not. I think this situation could be easily remedied by using a pricing gun to identify the price on each individual product in the clearance area. Great staff, but DISGUSTING restroom...YEARS of "stuff" on back of door and walls and no soap in dilapidated dispenser. YUCK! ALL stores should have spotless restrooms, but ESPECIALLY if you sell food. Home Depot, in the same shopping center, has cleaner restrooms and sinks you don't have to hold down the faucet button for a little water. Along with a smashing inventory that I love, World Market takes customer service very seriously too! And for me that is a win win! I have become a regular shopper at the Folsom location. Tarjay has become a bit boring and World Market is anything but! I do not have the shopping gene as many people do but I could easily wander around this spacious, well laid-out store for hours if time permitted. Always the seasonal decorations, front and center, as you walk through the doors. It is so relaxing to move from the wine/unique food specialty area to trendy home decor/rugs/furniture to pillows of every shape and kind/bath/spa/candles/jewelry/clothes and a long wall of cards for every occasion! Worst world market ! I was in line to buy a few things and both girls at the register left when it was my turn to be waited on . They had their heads down ! I had to loudly ask what register is open . One of the ladies with a mask on said oh ! She will be right with you ! Nope I put my items on the counter and waited.....a few minutes then I left ! Not the best experience. Customers are greeted by over-flowing trash at the entrance of the store. Didn't feel like I was in Folsom, but in some seedy street corner. I was in a rush and asked an employee where an item was and all she did was point and say "if we had any, it would be somewhere over there." You'd think employees should be aware of the things they sell and at least assist customers in helping them find things. Due to the fact, I didn't buy a birthday cake for my February 2019 birthday; CPWM sent me via E-Mail a birthday coupon I may use spending at any of their stores I might visit. Cool~Ok-So, I enter the Folsom store . . . Inspecting isle after isle what might pique my shopping spree using the coupon. I began eyeing on a few furniture pieces but, I noticed dings and dents on each piece. Nyet . . . Not interested buying dings and dented furniture-just not my style. Next! I was appalled by the woman running the show yesterday on my shopping trip. Marian was barking orders at employees with absolutely zero respect for her co-workers and was training the new employee like he was a kindergartner. It was humiliating. She actually took her arms when he was ringing me up, and put them on the trainees shoulders and moved him so he could be standing properly. It was awful and this woman has no business running the show. During my transaction, she screamed at a fellow employee about the number of boxes on aisle 5 register. This was all while I was trying to be rung up for my transaction. She could care less how she sounded in front of the shoppers. From what I could see, this co-worker was the only one doing anything on the floor. Give the woman with the longer blonde hair a raise. This was 10/3/23 at around 11:00am. Post covid19 review: anyone who's been to world market enough knows they always have deals so don't buy full priced! With the pandemic, they have shut it down to online order until recently where they have curbside pick up for 10% off your order! I already have my favorites of bundaberg diet ginger beer and Asha Hakka noodles so I ordered them with my discount! While I am sad to not have the experience of walking around in my trolley with my son and read their awesome card selection, I am glad world market focused on safety and kept the store closed to the public at the moment. Curbside pick up was a breeze! I called to inform of my order info and my car make and model. The employee saw me inside the car and we waved. She went in and picked up my order. I open the trunk and she puts it in. I close the trunk door electronically and showed her my ID through the passenger windshield. Thumbs up to her and ready to drive home. I didn't even have to wear my mask sitting in the car! I look forward to supporting world market this way and intend to make more curbside pick ups a regular thing! Thanks world market of Folsom! What could improve??? Everything! I would give "O" star if I could. We ordered Adirondack stools and only 1 was shipped. The email order said shipment completed. Where's the other foot stool? We called and they said "it's on its way" so we waited, still nothing, then we called and they said "it's on its way again." Finally received an email that said "oops this is an embarrassment we had to cancel your order sorry" I have two Adirondack chairs with only one foot stool. We called customer service and nothing they could do. I even asked for a 75 percent coupon to make me a happy customer and customer service agents said "sorry" so I asked for a 50 percent coupon she said "no" we can only give you 20 percent." I get 20 percent off every day through email. She did take off shipping. However, there selling things they don't have and placing a hold on credit your card! That should be illegal. Especially, when you have not received it! Plus we looked online and seen that they have the same stool for $23.00, but out of stock. If you noticed that they have expensive items that are usually $300.00 for about $25.00 with out of stock on that item. This is how they fool and trick customers to believing you can get a great deal! It's just a fishing lure. It won't be long before Workd Market goes out of business. I guarantee! I have been reading on different websites on the problems customers are having with this company and wow that blew me away! I'm currently unsubscribing on texting an email. I just love love love this place. I really think my entire home is starting to look like a World Market store, lol! I just love the art inspired ideas spread across the world and places all in one place! There is so much more to life and outside of our American country and I love that this place offers all of that. The store is sectioned into different parts of rooms: walls, bathrooms, decor (candles, placeholders), furniture for living room space, offices, rugs, office stuff, lighting, food, coffee, kitchen furniture, kitchen stuff, etc... just about everything. I have wall photos- framed, matching that I purchased to go over my couch, I've purchased my coffee table- my rug, chair, and tv stand, my kitchen chairs, my vase that's on my table, etc... the list continues. As I said, I just love this place. Right now they have a huge furniture sale going on. Most things are close to 60% off right now. It's a must! So many deals! My next home goal with be to complete revamp my kitchen stuff to be all Whole Market! The staff are always super helpful and nice. I'm so disappointed with this store. I've been a customer for years and today they showed me their lack of respect and support for customers. I received a gift for Christmas that didn't fit. They were slippers that had never been worn and had a tag on them. The cashier told me I could get store credit. She called another lady to help her. That lady said it was fine but a manager had to sign off. The manager came over and said absolutely not, she would not allow them to be returned because they are a clothing item. She was so rude. My daughter paid for her merchandise with a $100.00 bill, which was given by the bank on Saturday and they used the detector pen, which they have to do, no problem, they kept swiping it and examining it, then the cashier called a manager to do the same again, no problem,,,?he also swiped several times and examined for 3/4 mins, as if they couldn't read it. Horrible customer service at the Folsom, CA location- Long story short I placed a curbside pick up via the website. I drove over 40 min to this location and when I arrived the guy that greeted me states that my order was cancelled due to inventory. I told him I never received an email or call regarding a cancellation. He states that theres a "glitch" in there system and they no longer have the items I ordered. Some of the low reviews on here seem to be because of poor customer service. I have not had the chance to interact too much with staff except for them greeting me at the door and for them ringing up my items at the register. That being said, I absolutely enjoy this store. They carry such unique items. From food, furniture, home decor, kitchen stuff, trinkets, gifts, wine. They have something just for everyone, whether it's for yourself or for a gift. Prices are a little on the expensive side, but the quality of items have been good from the things I've purchased here so far. Definitely will be returning. I love World Market. The furniture is gorgeous and the selection of all different types of food are my fav. The items here are unique and cool gifts for yourself or others but the customer service is one of the worst ever at this location! Which is surprising because EVERY World Market I have been to has always stuck by their great customer service. I called looking for an item and the lady over the phone was very nice and went and grabbed an item and put it on hold for me. When I came in the next day I was shocked at the girl who rang me up. Not a "Hi" or "Did you find anything?" she just gave me a dirty look. When I went to pay she yelled slow down you're too fast and grabbed my card from me. A nice "opps can you slide it again the system didn't read it" and please don't ever grab my card out of my hand unless you plan on paying that bill. She had an edge from the start of my transaction so I guess I should have expected it. I didn't get to see her name tag since her hair was blocking it or she didn't have one on. Because this was Christmas I sure hope she was a temp because that service can only go so far. I love me some worldly exotic goods and funky decor and Cost Plus is my place to go. I have been to the Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Folsom location and I must admit THIS IS MY FAVORITE. Lack of one star for disorganization and low inventory ( I have been sent to other locations for items). BUT that aside, the employees here are SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, they always make sure you leave with what you went in looking for or call the other stores in the area until you get it. They have a great pillow collection, always cheaper than their neighboring stores, and of course i love sitting on their COZY FURNITURE. They have a huge stock of wall art, I just wish it was easier to go through! Great location, ample parking, and you can get lost in this store with all of their LITTLE GOODIES. read more

Bought a chair at World Market. On the positive, the sales guy, Seth, was great! He was helpful and attentive. On the negative, when I got the chair home it was missing parts. I went back to the store and the customer rep, Rowan, made zero effort to assist me. He basically said there was nothing he could do short of ordering replacements that could take "weeks" to arrive. Obviously I have an unassembled chair in my living room so weeks is not an option. The missing parts were 8 simple washers. Really? He suggested I go to Home Depot. I love World Market. I went and purchased an end table yesterday at the Citrus Heights location. I brought it home and unfortunately realized I didn't have room for it. I decided to return it the next day here as this location is closer to my work. I immediately went to the next woman availables' register.I simply stated I had a return but didn't have my receipt. She IMMEDIATELY began acting flustered and acted like she could not do this although I spoke with an employee on the phone before who said I could do this without the receipt as long as I had the card it was originally purchased on. (I did) She was so hostile she would not even let me explain the situation and was incredibly dismissive of everything i had to say. It was the most unpleasant hostile 30 second conversation I've ever had. I actually asked this woman "Did I do something wrong? I'm just trying to do a return but you're being incredibly hostile" She then proceeded to argue with me and tell me SOMEONE ELSE COULD HELP ME. I said okay, gladly. My experience at this store today was a disappointment. Although I find the verbal assault with only one foot in the door shouted over the customers in line by the cashier discourteous to them, I understand the cashier is instructed to holler at all incoming guests by the management as it is "company policy" and not the cashier's fault. Unfortunately, this "policy" being forced is unnecessary and obviously not sincere. As a paying customer at the register In the middle of a purchase I would prefer the attention on my transaction so it can completed efficiently. By the store requiring the '"shout out" greeting It is sending a message that the paying customer is not that important. If CPWM wants clients to be greeted at the door I suggest they hire a greeter to stand at the entrance and do so. That was only my first point. More rude today was when I was paying for an item and was instructed by the cashier for my phone number. If I wanted to give her my phone number I would have handed her my business card. I've almost always had decent or even very good customer service here. It's a great place to find unique items (although I liked the old layout better, where you could find displays from specific areas of the world, like an African section, Indonesian, Asian, Indian, etc). Now is seems a little randoms mashed together. But the great thing about this place is the food items from around the world (including an amazing selection of British chocolate!) Looking for a weird sauce or candy for travels abroad? Check this place out! They also have really cool girl ideas for all ages. Okay. I've been shopping here for many years. I greatly enjoy their kitchen trinkets, tableware, teas, wines, beers, coffee, and snacks that are more difficult to find in a typical grocery store. This is usually my first stop for Christmas stuff like stocking stuffers. I love the miniature treats! But I really can't stand when there are sale signs left out 3+ days after their expiration. And I especially don't like the cashier treating me like I'm crazy and just made up a sale. It's a result of laziness at best, or it's a bait-and-switch, BS marketing tactic at worst. So get ready for a First World Problem Christmas Shopping Rant! Here's what happened yesterday: I was shopping, buying presents for my loving family, as you do. Whilst at Cos Plus, I spied with my little eye an item that had a big sale sign that read "Buy 1 get 1 free." There were several of these signs and I made sure to pick the brand advertised on this one. I was stoked that a family member would be getting TWO of this item instead of one. I get to the front of the line (which wasn't bad at all) and the total was not what I expected so I mentioned the sale items to the cashier. He looked it up (I guess double checked the receipt to see if a sale was applied?) and said "Nope. No sale." I blinked and said "There... was a sign that said 'Buy one, get one free." "Nope." "....Yes there was." "There's no sale." "...So that sale sign just doesn't apply? You have nothing for me? Just a sign that's wrong?" He shrugs and says "Yep, it doesn't apply." Now, I'm already irritated by a sale that is not actually a sale, but this kid was multiplying my rage by a thousand. Really, man? Just...nothing? No "sorry, that expired on *such and such* date. I'll make sure the sign is removed right now," even? I get that you can't honor every mistake and he very likely had nothing to do with the signage being put up in the first place. So I did NOT get the second item. I purchased what I had, then told him I was going to go back there and re-read the sign. Sure enough, there was in fact a B1G1 sign for the things I had correctly selected, but the TEENY TINY date (as they are usually teeny tiny) indicated that the sale expired three days ago. Now, it's Christmas. I get it. I've worked retail - I know it's hard and sometimes downright impossible to keep up with rabid holiday shoppers. I know that not everyone can honor incorrect signage. I do not feel entitled to free things because someone made a mistake. That's not my problem here. I know that sale signs are not hard to remove after they expire. Case in point, I took that sign right out off the shelf. I then marched back to this kid's line, handed it to him, and said "Here's the sign. The date is expired. That is really misleading and a dishonest sales tactic." He said he would take care of it (no idea how sincere he was) and I left. tl;dr: I don't expect free stuff because of a mistake, but I do expect to be treated like a human and not like a crazy a-hole. (And I promise I was not a crazy a-hole that day. At least not until I left your store.) I don't like surprises at the register and being treated like what I saw didn't exist makes it worse. This is not the first time this has happened, which is why I'm speaking up. This is a year-round thing. Managers, do better. Train your people better. I may love your items, but I won't miss them if customer service continues to take a dip. In the end, I'm sure you'll just see me as another irate holiday shopper that fades into the background with all the other irate holiday shoppers. Hopefully not, though. This place is awful. I went in a couple days before Christmas and there were 50% Off Sale signs everywhere. Every item I grabbed was from an area that had a 50% off sign on it. I spent an hour shopping around and selecting items. I get to the front, have everything rung up, and nothing is coming up as on sale. Everything was full price. I told them that each item had a 50% off sign next to it and so the clerk went and looked at a couple of the items, which did have the sale signs there but the manager came over and said that those items weren't actually on sale and that the sings had been moved there by someone. For every single item that I had selected from all over the store? Well that's odd. I had them return everything and left. What a waste of time. Maybe don't advertise a huge sale and put signs everywhere if you're not actually going to honor your sale prices. read more
