I was blown away by the customer service that Kyle provided! I called to see if we could repair our Stressless ottoman (fyi, the attached recliner is a super comfortable and sleek looking). We purchased this chair from the back store a couple of years ago and the one thing I really like about it is that you can lay it all the way back so if you need to have someone have their blood pressure raised it's a very good chair for that the other things about the chair it's well-made could be more cushioned for more comfort but the worst and most damaging a thing about the chair is it has no lock in system on it so when you're trying to get a senior up out of it or sit them back down in the chair it doesn't lock it just spins around very very very dangerous. For this reason I will only give the chair a two rating and it probably be a -2 rating but for that reason I would not recommend it. So, if you are looking for a chair to safely get a senior in or out of it... I highly with strong conviction DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. read more

I am a long-time customer of the Ultimate Back Store, and think of them as the first place to check when looking for a high quality chair or back product. Yes, the prices are much higher than what you will find at most stores, but the product they sell is the best of the best, and can't be compared with what is sold at the average store any more than you can compare an economy car with a luxury car. Yes, they both may get you to the same destination, but how! The products at the Ultimate Back Store are where health, comfort, and functionality all dance happily under the moonlight. The customer service that I've received from Gill and David is the best that I've ever experienced in retail. I recently purchased an office chair with lots of helpful guidance from David and Gill. I spend many hours a day in my office, and have worn through countless chairs that all looked good initially, but wear out quickly from their padding to their mechanisms. I am now sitting in my Ultimate Back Store chair looking over at my old office chair while shaking my head. The new chair is incredible! It is as close to perfect as I think a chair can be. Last spring, I developed a serious pain in my back and my right leg. It hurt when I sat, when I stood, when I walked, and sometimes even when I was lying down. My husband took me to this store to see if we could find anything that would give me relief. I first tried a zero gravity chair that seemed like magic - the pain went away instantly. I was so excited that I told my husband it didn't matter what it cost, we needed to take that chair home - "TODAY"! The person that helped us called his boss to explain the situation, and his boss (Gil) said he would deliver the floor model if we wanted it. We did; and amazingly, that same afternoon, Gil personally delivered the chair and taught me how to use it. I was extremely grateful; but the pain came back and when I went to the doctor, I found out that I actually had arthritis and the immediate relief I got in the store with the Zero Gravity chair did not repeat. Consequently, I asked Gil to take the chair back which he did. He was extraordinarily gracious, never making me feel embarrassed about having exercised him so much and then needing to return the chair. Since I was still suffering with back and leg pains, I later went back to the store and Gil suggested that I try something else - a leather office chair made of memory foam - with the same free trial period that they gave us with the Zero Gravity Chair. The office chair was made-to-order so we needed to wait for it; but ever since it arrived (and Gil delivered, set it up and taught me how to use it - again!), I have had no pain whatsoever, even while working all day at the computer. This is my go to store for self care and gift giving. I've tried Amazon enough times to know that to avoid waisting money and receive a quality product from a reliable manufacturer that will work as described, I must drive down the street to The Back Store. Although fairly convenient, its not located in a shopping center I'd otherwise normally shop in, so I only go about 3 times a year- which is whenever I read about a new self care product that may help one of my ailments, and of course always around Christmas & Mother's day. Every time I go, I wonder why I don't go more often. The service is knowledgeable, reserved, and respectful, I get a free massage, and I especially love discovering new products that help to bring more comfort into my life. I would be so bummed if this store was no longer around! I should have left a review years ago. My husband & I went in to the Folsom store and met David. He was a tremendous help and very knowledgeable. We went in to try out the Ekorness Stressless chair, which is an amazing chair for those with or without back issues, and we bought a chair. We then turned our attention to the Tempur-Pedic bed. David educated us but did not pressure us to buy either item. It was clear that David knows these products sell themselves given the chance! Gil, the owner, is a true professional! He is very friendly, patient, gracious and customer service oriented. He understands the value in having happy customers and is willing to do whatever he can to gain a loyal customer. This was extremly evident by how accommodating he was with the delivery of our purchase! But after our bed was delivered, I thought there was an issue with it and Gil promptly came to our house, (with his teenage son),"to see what he could do to make it right by us. The customer service at this store has been outstanding from the very first time I walked through the door! I am moved to write a review because yesterday they went above and beyond for me in exchanging and delivering my zero gravity chair. I recently had spinal surgery and was unable to drive to them to try a variation on the chair I had just purchased. David was incredibly understanding on the phone and at the end of their already long day, Gil and his associate made the extra effort to come to my house at 8pm to switch out my chair with one they had in stock. There have been so many other instances in the past 6 months (the duration of time since I ruptured my L4-5 disc) where they have helped me out with finding just the right back support for my car, the right pillow, the right knee support for the bed, the best office chair, lumbar support, etc. I really wish that more businesses gave outstanding customer service like they do. This store is all about service. Gill has the community interest at heart and takes special interest to the needs of his customers. My husband is handicapped and his lift chair motor stopped working. As the chair was over 7 years old, some of the parts were no longer available. The new chair order was to take 3-4 weeks to arrive. Gill come out 3 times trying to find a way to get his chair to work. He even went to Sacramento to check the warehouse for a motor we could use while waiting for the new chair to arrive. Success! Excellent products! I bought a zero gravity leather chair from them. It feels so good sitting on this thing after a long hard day at work. The owner is a real nice guy. My boyfriend and I went to the Ultimate Back Store because he was looking for something to help alleviate his sciatica pain. We were helped by David who patiently took his time showing us around the store. I have to say, he is one of the most knowledgable salespersons I have ever encountered. You can tell that the owner (Gil) takes good care of his employee, as David told us he had originally come to the store as a customer and ended up working there after he was able to find a solution to his back problems. He put absolutely no pressure on us to buy anything, and even though it was obvious that my boyfriend was the one looking to make a purchase, he was more than willing to answer my questions and have me demo some of their higher end massage chairs. We walked out with a lumbar support pad, and after doing some comparison shopping online, my boyfriend went back and purchased an inversion table. Granted, you can find some better deals online or from Costco, but the store stands behind the quality of the products they sell, which more than makes up for the few extra dollars you might have to spend here. If you want an excellent customer service experience before and after your purchase, I highly recommend the Ultimate Back Store. You will not be dissapointed. read more
