Rod Works is a home decor shop in the Palladio shopping center in Folsom, CA. It is next to the outdoor plaza. I happen to be walking by and the window displays caught my eye. So much so, the next thing I knew I was walking into the shop. I knew right away I was in trouble. I had to exercise a lot of self control. The merchandise was stylish, fun, and get this ... reasonably priced. The pricing varies from under $10 and upwards. Right now the merchandise included seasonal Halloween, Fall, and Christmas decor. But I did end up buying a $15 gray colored desk clock. I luved the color, easy to read large numbers, quiet non ticking operation, and the price. The staff was super helpful and welcoming. Things to Note: - Return policy is for items still in new condition. - Returns allowed within 10 days of purchase with original receipt and tags. - No return or exchanges on clearance items. - Cash transactions of over $125 will be issued with a corporate check. read more

Cute little shop located next to Starbucks, they offer a wide assortment of country items for the holidays and unique items for decorating your home or office. I was just window shopping at the time and the ladies working here didn't mind. I will definitely be back during the holidays to buy a few items for presents. Love this store! It has the cutest little homey knick knacks!!! Walked in over the weekend & everything was 30% off!!! Walked out w/ a huge clock for $42 & a cute sign for the kitchen for $16. The staff is very helpful & sweet! I always find the cutest decorations there & always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm at the Palladio! I have always loved this store for the wide array of products they offer, I finally found a mirror I have been looking for! It was great, I asked the associate to pull it from the wall to which she replied "it's easier if I get one in a box from the back" so I took the one in the box home. 11 days later, I open it to hang it up, and CRACK. A giant crack through the mirror. I call the store back and the associate tells me, "well it's been 10 days and she should've opened the box to make sure it wasn't cracked." How is that my problem?! Love coming in and checking off the knock knacks! Last time we came in the cashier was handling some pretty rude customers really well (a blonde girl, i think her tag said "Tonha"?). They were just giving her the run around with a declined card and dividing up payments, and she handled it so well. When they started getting snarky with her, she was very calm and professional, even though you could tell she was worried about handling them and the growing line. So I just found this brand new store!! It is kind of hidden in the Palladio over by Sport's Authority and the new red robin location. Well let's just say I'm glad I found it! Right when you walk in you think you are in a designer home decor boutique. However when you look at the prices its totally inexpensive! Like crazy, I have seen the same stuff at pottery world, but here it is less $. Great because I love Pottery world! The girls in there are all amazing too!! What a cool gem of a store with an amazingly attentive staff. It's an eclectic mix of fun home accessories that would do well in many home styles. I'm not your "model home" sort of dude and there are bits in here that are befitting of my pad here on the Westside of Los Angeles. I like the feel... The layout creates this feeling of "discovery;" as you turn a corner you'll find something new, kitschy and fun. I have a few items spanning my beachy and contemporary style... The staff is helpful and always friendly and caring... Truly a cool little store befitting the coolness of shops I like on Abbott Kinney... Love love love this store. I am not much of a decorator/design person but the sales ladies have been so helpful. I usually take a pic on my phone and measurements of what i want to decorate and bring it into the store. They have all sorts of great ideas that make my home look great, and feel warm and cozy. It can be a little spendy but you get service, quality merchandise, design expertise, and you are supporting small business. Highly reccomend if you are in need of reatail therapy or just a new look for a small area of you home. read more

This store has lovely things at what seem like fair prices. My husband and I stopped in a few weeks ago and found a great buffet we were considering for our dining room, but weren't able to purchase at the moment. I went back in today with my mom to show her some of the cute things I knew she'd like. Sadly, it was a terrible experience. There were two employees working there, it appeared to be one manager and one employee. The manager was reprimanding the employee in a public way. They were having their own conversation, but in a small store, a "private" conversation is easily public, and neither seemed to care that there were customers shopping five feet from them. I feel the manager was being overly condescending to the employee, who was doing a good job of defending herself, but no matter what she said, the manager wasn't going to let her be right. Very awkward, unprofessional, and an extremely poor management tactic...not to mention void of any customer service sense. On our way out, I let the gal who seemed to be the manager know what I thought of the experience and that I will likely not be spending my $500+ on the buffet in their store. I'm only giving one star because of the cute things they have there, but it will be a long while before I consider going back. I hope by then that "manager" is either gone or has undergone some successful management and customer service training. read more

We were treated like we were a couple of old folks who had no business troubling this salesperson with our questions. This store attracts most who are interested in home decor. BUT there are a few things I would like to warn ANY customer who purchases from this store. If you purchase an item, save the receipt and for some reason need to return BE WARNED. They ONLY give you 10 days to return and then you are out of luck! This message is printed on the receipt but I was hoping for some kindness by the staff or management. Well, it was beyond the ten days and they would not take my item even though I kept my receipt. Most companies would make an exception especially if a receipt was presented. My response from the store worker "Give it to someone else!" I will NOT be shopping at this store again. I hope some will find this information helpful who may need to return an item and may be out a lot of money. read more
