We are delighted with our custom cement and steel coffee table that George and his team at Casual Elements (CE) built for us. We had heard that this was the place to go for quality, unique outdoor furniture and that they could do custom work. We arrived at CE with a muse photo of a coffee table we really liked. But it was manufactured in another country and was no longer available for purchase (and would have been too expensive to ship anyway). The owner, George, met with us, heard what we wanted, and was committed to reproducing this coffee table in exactly the dimensions we needed for our outdoor space. We also had him build a cement beverage center surround to house our outdoor refrigerator and ice maker. He delivered exactly what we wanted and it's spectacular. We also needed some outdoor wooden bar stools. He had in his showroom some beautiful wooden bar stools with seats that swivel, exactly what we needed. We stumbled across this place after rebounding from a horrible experience at a nearby furniture store on Folsom Blvd. The antique reproduction signage drew my attention. Bestill my heart, their distressed furniture is gorgeous! They have lots of tables, buffets, and gorgeous outdoor furniture. I want all of it! We picked up two pieces for our entry / family room, so unique and stunning. Caroline was wonderful and sweet. Bruno loaded up our purchase and followed us home for delivery free of charge - that is customer service! We were told they get new styles often, so we can't wait to return. The quality is unparalleled. Keep in mind they aren't low-end, so you get what you pay for. Pre-warning, I'm a very frugal person, so for any store to get 4 stars or more the prices have to be very good for the consumer to earn my admiration. I would give this store 2.5 stars, but rounded up because the lady at the front was nice, helpful and not too overbearing. Pros: A litte more outdoor furniture then most furniture stores and some cool looking stuff that you won't find at other stores. Cons: Still expensive and heavily marked up prices like most furniture stores despite their claims on Craigslist. This place has an interesting collection of reasonably priced indoor and outdoor furniture. Not the run of the mill outdoor seating sets you see everywhere else, a lot of really nice wood and wicker. This store has some great furniture pieces and the best thing about them is they can also make the pieces custom. We ordered a bookcase that was not on the floor. The piece we ordered was similar to a cabinet they had but not quite the right size. Sue told us to give her the dimensions and she would have it made for us. It took about 2 to 3 months to get the piece which for us was not a problem. It was replacing another bookshelf so the wait was not an issue. The piece we ordered was 54" wide so the shelves inside did arrive slightly bowed. I will fix this myself as the width is a long span for a bookshelf. Other than the slightly bowed shelves and a few nicks in with the finish, we love the cabinet. It looks great in our living room. We also purchased an exterior dining table, chairs and a bench. It is made of teak and stained dark. We love this piece as we like to entertain and wanted seating for at least 10 people. We have only had this for about 3 months so we do not know how it wears yet. We would gladly go back and order again from Causal Elements as we plan to look into another custom piece for an entertainment center. The reason for 4 stars is that the variety is not too extensive, a lot of repetition with same pieces with different colors. The furniture we received was slightly warped, but being a wood product that is typical. Some of the prices do seem a little high in price, but if you pay attention to their sales then the prices are definitely competitive. So check the sales before you are ready to lay down the cash. The staff is really friendly and courteous. The exterior furniture we brought home ourselves. They helped us load our truck and wrapped everything in cardboard and plastic to keep it safe. The bookshelf was too large for us to pick up with our truck so they delivered for us for only $35 which I thought was a great price for delivery. The driver and I unloaded the bookshelf from the truck and together brought it in the house and stood it in place before he unwrapped the cabinet from it plastic and blankets. They make sure that there is not damage in transportation. Really professional. Sue was great with helping us with our special purchase and we will be talking to her again before the end of the year for our next piece. When it is on sale of course. read more

They call and check on the progress of an order, in our case, an arbor and they make sure every single thing is correct before completing the order and accepting payment. If you're looking for rustic or distressed furniture then you really should check this place out. We had a hard time finding quality furniture for a reasonable price...until we went to Casual Elements. After we saw the many different pieces of furniture we decided to bring in our distressed coffee table to get a TV stand and a curio cabinet made to match. They actually manufacture whatever piece you want in several colors with light to heavy distress. Their plant is in Indonesia so our pieces, from start to finish (delivery) took 90 days. Our choice...we could have picked something from the warehouse. When they arrived we were so happy with the quality, the beauty, and the fit and finish. They were made from solid Mahogany and over an inch thick. Even the glass shelves in the curio cabinet were 3/8 in. thick. We even picked out the knobs and pulls. The prices, in my opinion, are low given the level of quality of this furniture. Not only are we happy with our new furniture but George and his staff, from Jaz and Stephanie to the delivery guys, were simply outstanding. I've always thought Sacramento doesn't really have much to offer in terms of furniture....it does now! Absolutely the best quality out there. Wish i knew about this place years ago.
