2/10/2026: Regular gas=$4.359 per gallon. Oh, how I wish the gas price would decrease regular gas to $1.99 per gallon . . . I'll incessantly pray daily for decreased gas prices.

During my most recent shopping experience, the bagger at the register told me "ALL" items need to be on the belt. Since I haven't shopped at a Costco for several months, I was unaware of this new rule which I found to be odd. But as he was telling me this, he plopped down two multipack Bounty paper towels on top of the items already on the belt. Items on the belt included plastic carton of eggs, plastic container of macaroons, and open box of tomatoes. Yes he did...thoughtlessly dropped the weighty Bounty towel packs. He obviously didn't care. Plus this rule is arbitrarily applied as I noticed the other registers didn't adhere to this rule. Also, as I was loading my items into my car, sure enough, I saw several Valentine macaroons cracked. Good grief! And later that same day, I went to the Costco in Woodland. As I was putting the items in the belt; they let me keep the items in my cart which I only had four items. A couple of them were heavy and awkwardly shaped. The checkout duo in Folsom emphatically said have all items had to be on thr belt no exceptions. In Woodland, they gladly scanned my items in the cart and moved the line quickly.

The Folsom location still remains one of our go-to stores when we want to switch it up from the Elk Grove location and find some new items. But their service is still hit or miss here. They also make you put everything on the belt even when I have been standing there waiting for my turn and all barcodes are facing out already. Seems like more work for them to have to unload and reload - he even asked if I could do the unloading. Then the additional lady loading the cart managed to try to squish my cheesecake into a rectangle box that clearly it wouldn't fit into. She was insisting and I actually had to grab it out of her hands because she was quite literally squishing the cheesecake against the packaging!! The strangest interaction with a Costco worker ever.

Crowded Costco but we checked out quickly. Plenty of samples being offered; lots of ethnic offerings- different from our Sarasota home base.

I had to return an item because it was recalled. Cheryl helped me. She's always so kind and helpful but today I asked a huge favor which I was not sure Costco or its employees could grant but I asked anyways. Sure enough, Cheryl took the extra minute to look something up and helped me out. This is a shout out to Cheryl who's been helpful since I've been living here! Thank you for your assistance today!! I appreciate your genuine customer service!

THANK TOU KATIE. Coming to Costco on a rainy day is not easy. After checking out I went over to management & asked an older lady wearing glasses for a plastic trash bag to cover my cart & protect it from the rain. While this older lady refused, KATIE stepped in & said "no problem, I will get you a bag" so nice to have customer service like that. Makes me feel valued as a customer. Thanks again Katie, you are a lifesaver!!

Costco always feels lively but well managed. The store has a large selection of products, yet it never feels chaotic.

Interesting items I found: whole Mexican papayas, fresh coconut juice in the shell, freshly squeezed orange juice, meat pizza, delicious birthday cake with whipped icing, machine that gives out household samples to name a few. I purchased my membership when it was discounted so watch out for it.

But I go back shopping recently, and I find a pile of Svenhard pastries with even an older best purchase by date on the sales floor. Good grief! I reached for a pack of Archer Jeff jerky. Lesson learned, I looked at the date before putting it into my cart. Glad I did. The date was May 2025. Double good grief. It's December. 7 months past the date. (Sigh)

She told me I could receive a discount if I simply answered "3 questions." Before agreeing, I specifically asked multiple times if this would affect my credit or involve a hard inquiry, especially when I noticed it was asking for my Social Security number. Each time, she clearly told me no, and said it was "only for rewards/Discount." Shortly after completing the questions, she said, "Congratulations, you've been approved for a $500 credit line," which was completely unexpected and not what I agreed to. I never intended to apply for a credit card. Because of this, a hard inquiry was placed on my credit report, and I had to immediately call and close the account. This experience felt misleading and dishonest. Regardless of experience level, customers should be clearly informed when they are applying for a credit card, especially when it impacts their credit. Transparency is extremely important, and this was not handled properly. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures employees are properly trained so this does not happen to others.
