I had a very disappointing experience with this store. I successfully registered for their One…read morePiece pre-release event and made arrangements to attend, including driving approximately 45 minutes to get there. When I arrived, I was informed that the staff had manually removed me from the event without providing any prior notice. The staff member stated that he was in charge of the gaming events and had the discretion to remove registered participants who were not considered frequent or regular players. While I understand that the store may have its own policies regarding event participation, removing someone who successfully registered without any advance communication is disappointing and unprofessional. If a successful registration through the Bandai registration system does not actually guarantee a spot and participation is ultimately at the store's discretion, that should be clearly disclosed on the registration page or event details. Customers should know this before registering and making plans to attend. At a minimum, if the store decides to remove a registered participant, a courtesy call, text, or email should be provided so customers do not unnecessarily rearrange their schedules or make a wasted trip to the store. People have jobs, families, and other responsibilities and have to coordinate their schedules to attend these events. Not everyone has the ability to attend every local event or regularly visit the store. The lack of communication and consideration for customers' time was extremely frustrating. Based on this experience, I would be hesitant to register for another event here.

Again, I wasn't going to leave a review, but after going to another place and thinking about what I was offered on the Pokémon cards I wanted to sell/trade it almost feel downright criminal and like I was almost robbed. I went in with a good amount of graded slabs and raw Pokémon cards to sell or trade. The guy who was "helping" me started off doing the slabs and gave me the offer for those , it was a bit below what I had hoped for, but I had driven 1hr and 45 minutes to get there, plus I understand not all comps are the same. I didn't mind that offer. The PROBLEM came when he got to comping out my raw cards, it was a good amount of cards, close to 100 cards I'd like to say. When he was done comping them out and gave me an offer of around $700-$800 for all the cards. I had do a quick overview of which cards he was taking in. I immediately knew something was off because a card that was around $700 market he was offering $115 because the condition "MP" he said.. I chose not to accept the offer for the raw cards, but still closed the deal on the slabs. Got some things for trade. When I got home I started doing a bit more research on the raw cards he was going to take in and that's when I started to feel like I was almost robbed/scammed. I understand cards vary in condition and on top of that you only get a percentage not the market price for cards when selling to vendors or LCS, but the market for all the cards he was going to take was around $4k for all, the offer I was given was less than $800.. even if those cards were in awful condition (which they weren't) that offer would still be criminally low! After seeing that myself and going through the numbers again and again I felt so disappointed , irritated that someone would even do that especially at a shop!! What really pissed me off, still in my head trying to give them benefit of the doubt, trying to remain a bit positive was me going to another LCS and them telling me that I was being ripped off with that offer. I'm still in a bit of disbelief, idk how many times they do that where based on "condition" they openly rip off people who have no idea what they have, many people look towards their LCD and community to trust, but this shop has definitely failed at that for me. That aside, the staff comes off nice and welcoming, but after my experience it all seems that at least the person who deals with the Pokémon side of things has other intentions.

Today was my first time and here, and no store (or anything, for that matter) has ever made me miss…read morethe 90s more than the time I spent in here. Everyplace I walked, there was a blend of past and present. PlayStation 4 & 5 games, alongside rows of nostalgia that ranged in clothes, toys, accessories, movies, you name it. This store embodies 90s pop culture, and not the hip hop side, but more the alternative (which is what I felt more represented me). I found a dvd I've been looking for months, in just a matter of minutes. The movies are all alphabetized, yo! It's like a thrift store, but so much more. If you were a child of the 80s that lived through the 90s, you will probably appreciate this place . My dvd was only $1.99!

While hanging out in Folsom the other day, my husband and I decided to visit The Cave to see if we…read morecould expand our growing Funko Pop collection. I really liked that the Folsom location had a way bigger selection of Funko Pops than the Arden location. There is so much stuff to look through in general at this location, since it's roomier. I specifically scoured the shelves for some Funko Pops to take home, and came across the cutest Jurassic World one (shown below) that I just needed to buy. I also discovered a beautiful Elvis Funko, but that one I decided to hold off on for now. My husband bought a Mewtwo Funko as well (not shown). Most of the Funkos were in really good condition. There was a Stranger Things Funko that I really wanted but alas the previous owner had damaged the box. From a collector's standpoint, the prices are fair. Of course this location had other collectibles and items for sale, such as clothes, records, and whatnot. I've got plenty of records at home and only want to purchase very specific records these days, so I didn't really bother to look in their record aisles. The staff were friendly and chill. I will definitely return to check for more Funko Pops in the near future!

Bought a complete off marketplace and noticed after the fact that the pivots were pretty busted. I…read moreknew of another skate shop that wasn't too far, but I was hoping to find a decent alternative. Nbd. Reasons. Anyway, what I found was WAY better than just a decent alternative. The shop is super clean - everything you need, nothing you don't - and the repair was completed in less than 5 mins. Just enough time to have a quick and friendly conversation. And when I asked what I owed? "Don't worry about it, man, I got you." Absolutely made my day, and those five minutes made a lifelong customer out of me. I won't need to go anywhere else for my skating needs, and I'm stoked to support small local businesses like PLA!

Talk about disappointment when bringing my 10 year old son to a sports card shop for the first time…read moreever. The manager/maybe owner was not welcoming at all when my son and I asked him to check out some of our card collection. We have spent the past 10 months collecting and spending thousands of dollars and he simply said we have two okay cards maybe worth grading but PSA isn't accepting any more for a while so out of luck. I asked him if he buys cards and sarcastically said yes and I asked what type of cards he buys and again sarcastically said "good ones". You would think card shops would like to make a kid coming in feel good about sports cards and collecting but my son left crying. How about trying to enlighten us a little more about card collecting add some encouragement. I will never step foot in there again and highly discourage anyone else from doing the same. Just buy your cards online where at least you don't have a negative Nancy to deal with.

The overall atmosphere also wasn't quite what I expected. Some of the staff interactions came across as overly pushy and uncomfortable, particularly when joking with customers about making purchases. The second time we dealt with his wife (Corey was not there) and she was friendly which was just fine. Now the third time we went we were looking for some destined rivals packs and/or booster boxes. We had picked out one booster bundle for me and one for my boyfriend and then realized he was selling a whole box set which we asked if we could get just the box set instead (this is all before purchase). He must of either jumped to conclusion or didn't understand what we were asking. He loudly scolded us for buying too much (which is insane as a business owner) and started to humiliate us with demeaning comments. He was saying that he had people he needed to sell to and would not let us buy anything else. Mind you the store is almost a 4x4 shoe box so everyone could hear a pin drop. I'm not sure why you have product on the shelf and were showing it to us if you didn't want us buying anything. Safe to say I went from an excited newbie mtg and Pokemon fan to being very uncomfortable in most shops I go to now. I do not know if Corey owns this shop purely to hang out with the only regulars he deems worthy or because he likes public humiliation towards customers but there is no way with the amount of attitude and disrespect he holds towards all customers that this business will last long. Save your hard earned money and look at reviews before checking a shop out.
