Teammates is the best card shop in California. I was only in town for 2 days and had to be sure to make a stop into their shop before heading to the airport. Greg and his team are top notch. Always helpful, funny and a damn good time. Don't hesitate to stop in and hit yourself some bangers. read more

Talk about disappointment when bringing my 10 year old son to a sports card shop for the first time ever. The manager/maybe owner was not welcoming at all when my son and I asked him to check out some of our card collection. We have spent the past 10 months collecting and spending thousands of dollars and he simply said we have two okay cards maybe worth grading but PSA isn't accepting any more for a while so out of luck. I asked him if he buys cards and sarcastically said yes and I asked what type of cards he buys and again sarcastically said "good ones". You would think card shops would like to make a kid coming in feel good about sports cards and collecting but my son left crying. How about trying to enlighten us a little more about card collecting add some encouragement. I will never step foot in there again and highly discourage anyone else from doing the same. Just buy your cards online where at least you don't have a negative Nancy to deal with. read more

My son and I started coming here last week. The guys here are patient and open to questions. They don't try and bs you and try and upscale you. The vibe is also cool in there. Reminds me of the cheers of the sports cards world. Will be returning regularly. read more

Pretty new to the hobby and went in since they are near my house. Everyone was very friendly and they had a great selection of hobby boxes and individual cards for sale. I bought a couple of packs and some individual cards for a great price. read more

Best sports card shop in the Sacramento area by a country mile. I come in here at least once or twice a month to stock up on supplies and new wax. All of the guys who work here are friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful. If you visit, try to find a day where Eric is working, because when he chooses the card boxes for you, it's ALWAYS loaded, he's just got that luck! Greg, the owner, is an incredibly nice guy. He built rapport with me almost immediately when I first came in and he has taken care of me ever since. He knows exactly how to earn business and build trust with customers and more than once he's reached out to me personally when receiving a shipment of product he knows I need. Aside from all of the customer service, they are without a doubt the best value shop in the Sacramento area as well. The sticker prices can sometimes be $50-$100 more affordable than other card shops in the area depending on the product. If you're an avid card collector in the Sacramento area and you like to buy wax hobby boxes, look no further than Teammates. I will drive the extra 10-15 minutes to come here over the closer shops every single time because I'm known, I'm valued, and I'm taken care of at Teammates. Keith, Eric, O'Neil, and Greg are awesome old school guys and know how to do business right. read more

I've only been in this shop 2 times, but both times they gave me free cards. And I'm NOT spending a ton. I literally picked up a single $1 card (see photo below) and when I went to pay, they guys told me "just take it." I tried to pay and they refused to take my money. Great shop with a great selection!! Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be stopping by Teammates!! read more

This card shop in a small strip mall in Carmichael is a stone's throw from Dutch Brothers nearby. The store is stocked with a little of everything. Singles, sealed boxes, sets, minor singles, sets, signed jerseys, signed displays, signed balls and more. The owner and the workers are helpful and cool guys. At times they will host Beckett for in-store authentication of signed items. This is a recommended shop to pick up a box and try for some rare cards or to get a younger one started in the sportscard collecting hobby. Teammates is a good place to hang out and chat or meet fellow card collectors and memorabilia fans. read more

Pretty good selection of trading cards. I got greeted when I first walked in and made small talk. I was shopping around the area for Pokemon cards for my kids and found that this place was a little cheaper than the others. Awesome guys! read more

My son said he could stay here all day looking at every single card. Love how they have it all.

Wow! I have been collecting cards since 1987 and this shop is the best I've been to in 30+ years. Eric is friendly, helpful and always willing to teach you about the product. Greg is a great shop owner. He has really turned this place around since he took it over. He's very generous to all that come in especially the younger collectors!! The have very competitive prices on new product, they have product in stock and are always full of great singles at great prices. The shop is very clean and easy to shop! Keep up the great work guys. Mr Greg and his staff have treated us with the highest possible level of service and have made my 9yo son Mason, the happiest kid in the world. Very welcoming and a family"ish vibe. I wish the shops I went to as a kid was like Teammates. They welcomed him with such open arms. My son is starting to get into this expensive hobby and teammates have made sure to ease him into the hobby keeping him well informed and even giving him free cards! I l, myself, no longer collect, but my son is starting to now so taking him to see Greg is the best possible thing to do! I truly wished card shops were this fun, welcoming and informative when I was a kid! I even have so much fun being there. Im a big sports guy so coming here with my son is truly an experience! Thank you again Greg and everyone! We will see you guys again..and again and again. :-) Every business, sports or not, should be like Teammates! read more

What a helpful and friendly staff! It was my second time shopping at Teamates and I could not be more happy with my experience. I collect football baseball and basketball cards and they had everything I was looking for. I was most pleased with their variety of basketball trading cards. With the popularity of basketball being what it is i was pleasantly surprised with their variety and numerous price ranges. Lately the shops I go into are very limited when it comes to basketball, and over priced at that. I ended up making a purchase of over $400 and was never pressured to spend a penny more. In fact the owners helped direct me to exactly what I was looking for and even went the extra mile to throw in a few sleeves and cases for my collection. What made my experience special was the friendly conversation and welcoming manner if the staff.. Everyone introduced themselves and even went as far to ask where I was from and what my favorite teams were, attempting to connect on a deeper level. I didn't just feel like a customer I felt like a friend. I will be returning again and again and suggest you do yourself a favor and do the same! read more

They have horrible value they say they buy cards but they'll offer you nothing for cards worth hundreds of dollars with multiple recent sales. They say they sell all there cards for under market value. So that means you guys will pay less than 50% comp on cards. No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Cool little card shop with a ton of singles and packs. Everything in the market is crazy priced right now (especially basketball) but there's definitely some stuff that's still affordable. I'd say the price of their singles are a little high, but a lot of their packs are priced better than most shops in the area. Same for their toploaders and sleeves. Also, the staff is friendly and make conversation with you about more than just how they can take money out of your pocket. I've heard that the person who owns the shop isn't as reputable but his employees seem to be. I'd definitely come back. Just waiting for these prices to come back to reality. read more

Great experience. They were very helpful, and they do not nickel and dime you. They are very fair

Bought my first hobby box here. I came in and they had so much to offer. The workers were friendly and let me look around without bothering me. I didn't feel rushed or anything. And when I was ready to check out the guy even threw in a free blaster box after I told him jokingly that my kids are probably driving me wife crazy in the car so he told me here this one's on me for you're kids. I will be back for sure. I'm from Stockton but the drive is worth it for all the good deals they have. read more

Great store, lots of hits and good prices! My go to with my son, especially when my wife is buying

Love the new location! They have a great selection and amazing fair prices! They seem to have a little something for everyone! They have ungraded cards for as little as a couple dollars boxes as much as a couple thousand. I definitely try to stop by every couple of weeks as the selection seems to rotate often! What promped this review was when I was in there a couple of weeks ago I saw the owner give some small packs of pokemon cards to a kid for free! Honestly made my day glad to see them appealing to the young card collectors! read more

Fun sports card shop run by great guys with really good prices! This is a superb store to shop at and support.

Walked in as a first time customer and the owner looked so displeased to see me. I said hello I am here to sell some psa graded cards and he had nothing to say except give this big sigh as if I was a bother, I tried to make small talk and he ignored me and proceeded to look at my cards, low ball me big time and slap my cards down on his counter as If he owned them. I then told him i would keep my cards instead but said thank you and i decided I would take a look around and as I did that a few older white customers came in and he greeted them warmly, asked them all these questions and rolled out the red carpet. I was so excited to come to this card shop to sell and buy but this place left a terrible taste in my mouth and I will never come back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place ! read more

Keith the employer who work there is very rude, poor customer service, and very cocky about himself. This place is a disappointment for sure. I've been here many times and every time I go in, it's the old boys club of employees watching TV and not acknowledging their customers. Asking someone to look at cards here feels like trying to get someone to help you at the home depot, they ignore you and run the other direction. The guy keith or greg (idk) is about as friendly as the DMV desk clerk who is 5 mins past when his lunch started and you are bothering him by asking him to do his job. You'd think that customers who spend a lot of money here would be treated with some friendliness or at least some fake friendliness. But despite a large selection of stuff I'll be taking my business to ebay sellers, Id rather be burned there to be honest at least there is recourse. This shop optimizes everything that is wrong with the Hobby and local card shops. read more

Teammates is a great spot to pick up sports memorabilia or trading cards at a reasonable price. They are also the only shop in the area that has Beckett Authentication Services onsite a few times a year to certify your items without needing to mail them in. Parking is easy to find as there appear to be some vacancies in the strip mall they're located in. The employees are friendly and helpful. I saw a variety of items certified and signed by the likes of Kevin Durant, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Klay Thompson and many more. Some of the items you'd be quite hard pressed to buy cheaper anywhere else. I understand they need their room to work unbothered but it'd be nice if there was some way to verify Beckett's work before leaving easily. Unfortunately they made a mistake on one of my items and it was quite inconvenient to have them fix their error even though it was brought to their attention shortly after I had left the shop. That said, it's a great place to check out or add to your collection. read more

Out in the Carmichael area today and decided to stop in to this shop to see what they had. I tend to collect the older stuff and most stores these days focus on the newer sportcards and other collectables. But had a good experience with a store out in Land Park a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I would give this one a try. Mistake. Walk in the door and there is an older gentleman sitting in a chair in front of the TV. Clearly eyes glued to the TV and said basically nothing. The game show Card Sharks was on the TV and it must have been just riveting. So I looked around the store a little and went up and asked if he might have any of this particular baseball card set of the 60s. He thought a half second and said No. And back to TV. Nice. So decided to finish my perusal of the store. Eventually I came upon one card from the set in his case where he has a few older cards. So asked if I might see it. And he got up and came over and pulled out. Good looking card and I asked how much. Looked on the price on the back and said either $110 or $120 (I forget exactly). Give him card back and tell him thanks and he immediately returns the the game show he is watching. The price he is asking is just amazing. If you go on eBay which I did, there are probably 12 listed with most cards being listed in the 30s and 40s. And in at least as good of shape. Just no way anyone could ever justify buying this card from this shop in my opinion even if you are one who tries to buy local to keep shops like this in business. Over all this was a disappointment. Zero customer service. Zero interest in in engaging the customer in any dialogue of any manner. Certainly understand the very limited inventory in older material as that is the nature of most shops these days. Won't be back there though as just not a good experience and could not recommend in any way. read more

Teammates is a great card store that has a very nice selection of unsearched wax at great prices. Most of the time the prices are just as good or better then what you can find online. It was nice to see a card shop that has a very big selection of basketball product. The shop does have loose packs to open, but it is primarily a place to go if you're in the mood for buying a whole box. There is also a wide assortment of singles to choose from, everything from binders filled with quarter cards, to high end display cards can be found there. Mike the owner, is a vietnam vet and has lived through a lot. He is a great guy to talk to, hilarious at times, but it does take some effort on your end to loosen him up. Sometimes all it takes is some small talk. Mike also host a card convention/trade show about every three months in the Sacramento area at a hotel, there are about 50 different vendors there each time. If you're in the mood for busting wax and getting some mojo, swing by Mike's place, you'll be glad you did! read more
