Best sports card shop in the Sacramento area by a country mile. I come in here at least once or twice a month to stock up on supplies and new wax. All of the guys who work here are friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful. If you visit, try to find a day where Eric is working, because when he chooses the card boxes for you, it's ALWAYS loaded, he's just got that luck! Greg, the owner, is an incredibly nice guy. He built rapport with me almost immediately when I first came in and he has taken care of me ever since. He knows exactly how to earn business and build trust with customers and more than once he's reached out to me personally when receiving a shipment of product he knows I need. Aside from all of the customer service, they are without a doubt the best value shop in the Sacramento area as well. The sticker prices can sometimes be $50-$100 more affordable than other card shops in the area depending on the product. If you're an avid card collector in the Sacramento area and you like to buy wax hobby boxes, look no further than Teammates. I will drive the extra 10-15 minutes to come here over the closer shops every single time because I'm known, I'm valued, and I'm taken care of at Teammates. I've only been in this shop 2 times, but both times they gave me free cards. And I'm NOT spending a ton. I literally picked up a single $1 card (see photo below) and when I went to pay, they guys told me "just take it." I tried to pay and they refused to take my money. They have horrible value they say they buy cards but they'll offer you nothing for cards worth hundreds of dollars with multiple recent sales. They say they sell all there cards for under market value. So that means you guys will pay less than 50% comp on cards. No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

This card shop in a small strip mall in Carmichael is a stone's throw from Dutch Brothers nearby. The store is stocked with a little of everything. Singles, sealed boxes, sets, minor singles, sets, signed jerseys, signed displays, signed balls and more. The owner and the workers are helpful and cool guys. At times they will host Beckett for in-store authentication of signed items. This is a recommended shop to pick up a box and try for some rare cards or to get a younger one started in the sportscard collecting hobby. Wow! I have been collecting cards since 1987 and this shop is the best I've been to in 30+ years. Eric is friendly, helpful and always willing to teach you about the product. Mr Greg and his staff have treated us with the highest possible level of service and have made my 9yo son Mason, the happiest kid in the world. Very welcoming and a family"ish vibe. I wish the shops I went to as a kid was like Teammates. They welcomed him with such open arms. My son is starting to get into this expensive hobby and teammates have made sure to ease him into the hobby keeping him well informed and even giving him free cards! What a helpful and friendly staff! It was my second time shopping at Teamates and I could not be more happy with my experience. I collect football baseball and basketball cards and they had everything I was looking for. I was most pleased with their variety of basketball trading cards. With the popularity of basketball being what it is i was pleasantly surprised with their variety and numerous price ranges. Lately the shops I go into are very limited when it comes to basketball, and over priced at that. I ended up making a purchase of over $400 and was never pressured to spend a penny more. In fact the owners helped direct me to exactly what I was looking for and even went the extra mile to throw in a few sleeves and cases for my collection. What made my experience special was the friendly conversation and welcoming manner if the staff.. Everyone introduced themselves and even went as far to ask where I was from and what my favorite teams were, attempting to connect on a deeper level. Love the new location! They have a great selection and amazing fair prices! They seem to have a little something for everyone! They have ungraded cards for as little as a couple dollars boxes as much as a couple thousand. I definitely try to stop by every couple of weeks as the selection seems to rotate often! Cool little card shop with a ton of singles and packs. Everything in the market is crazy priced right now (especially basketball) but there's definitely some stuff that's still affordable. I'd say the price of their singles are a little high, but a lot of their packs are priced better than most shops in the area. Same for their toploaders and sleeves. Also, the staff is friendly and make conversation with you about more than just how they can take money out of your pocket. I've heard that the person who owns the shop isn't as reputable but his employees seem to be. I'd definitely come back. Just waiting for these prices to come back to reality. read more

Walked in as a first time customer and the owner looked so displeased to see me. I said hello I am here to sell some psa graded cards and he had nothing to say except give this big sigh as if I was a bother, I tried to make small talk and he ignored me and proceeded to look at my cards, low ball me big time and slap my cards down on his counter as If he owned them. I then told him i would keep my cards instead but said thank you and i decided I would take a look around and as I did that a few older white customers came in and he greeted them warmly, asked them all these questions and rolled out the red carpet. I was so excited to come to this card shop to sell and buy but this place left a terrible taste in my mouth and I will never come back. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place ! read more

Went into Teammates 2 weeks ago and bought a jumbo box of Topps Series 1 cards and some top loaders. He gave me a nice discount on box and gave me the sleeves and top loaders for free. This place is a disappointment for sure. I've been here many times and every time I go in, it's the old boys club of employees watching TV and not acknowledging their customers. Asking someone to look at cards here feels like trying to get someone to help you at the home depot, they ignore you and run the other direction. The guy keith or greg (idk) is about as friendly as the DMV desk clerk who is 5 mins past when his lunch started and you are bothering him by asking him to do his job. You'd think that customers who spend a lot of money here would be treated with some friendliness or at least some fake friendliness. But despite a large selection of stuff I'll be taking my business to ebay sellers, Id rather be burned there to be honest at least there is recourse. This shop optimizes everything that is wrong with the Hobby and local card shops. read more

Teammates is a great spot to pick up sports memorabilia or trading cards at a reasonable price. They are also the only shop in the area that has Beckett Authentication Services onsite a few times a year to certify your items without needing to mail them in. Parking is easy to find as there appear to be some vacancies in the strip mall they're located in. The employees are friendly and helpful. I saw a variety of items certified and signed by the likes of Kevin Durant, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Klay Thompson and many more. Some of the items you'd be quite hard pressed to buy cheaper anywhere else. I understand they need their room to work unbothered but it'd be nice if there was some way to verify Beckett's work before leaving easily. Unfortunately they made a mistake on one of my items and it was quite inconvenient to have them fix their error even though it was brought to their attention shortly after I had left the shop. That said, it's a great place to check out or add to your collection. read more
