This store helped us get some items for our upcoming wedding! We were creating gift bags for our bridal party so we needed to get some stickers and other items. Their frames are also very decently priced. We unfortunately couldn't find the size we were looking for and we even called 2 other stores but they only had it in the black color. Other than that, we were happy with our purchases and I think comparatively, Hobby Lobby and Michael's have similar pricing. The customer service was also great, I can't remember the gal who helped us find our items but she had short hair and worked in the evening. We stopped into Michaels looking for Day of the Dead items, and while we didn't really find them we did see plenty of Halloween and fall items. I also browsed around the art supplies. This location was pretty well stocked and organized, although the layout was a bit different than some other locations I visit. They also had some sales going on for different items. Make sure to check online for extra coupons. They also have plenty of parking outside, which makes it easy to stop in. read more

This is the most unorganized store I have ever seen in my life. Since the closing of my favorite craft dealer, and yes I'm still bitter, this is literally the only craft store in my area. Correction, it's a store for holiday decor, with crafts on the side. So, I made an account with their "rewards" app. Shocker, my $5 reward for signing up is NOT instant. Their yarn selection is...ok. It's fine, but it could be bigger than an aisle and a half-ish. Nothing is where it should be. Bins are empty or mismatched. I had to hunt down the upc to make sure the yarn I wanted was the price I wanted to pay. I know I usually prepare to spend a lot of time in craft stores, but this is ridiculous. I did find what I needed, and yes I will be back, but under protest because I cannot buy yarn on Amazon. read more

I went to Michaels in Birdcage center. I have been shopping there for years. I noticed many empty shelves, very little easter decor and store was a mess. I found some items I wanted, went to check out I was told I have to use self check out as the cashier was busy with a balloon order. I do not like self check out but given no choice I had to use it. I checked out every thing except for 4 bubble wands (my grandchildren love them) I tried scanning them nothing worked so I left them. I forgot to put my purchases in a bag so could not leave the store until I bagged it as cart not allowed outside. There was only 2 employees in the store that I saw. The main cashier was rude and made the trip very uncomfortable. I will not go back and I will advise my friends to go to a different store. It looks like this store will be closing soon which is a shame as everyone will have to go to Hobby Lobby. read more

This is the worst craft store. We called asking them if they had brown pipe wire they said yes so we drove there to find out they did not have any. It was like a 30 minute drive. The manager there was not helpful at all she said it's on order Maybe if you have people who work there learn to tell the difference between black and Brown! This is an all around frustrating place to shop at. Every time I order online to pick up in store, they cancel at least part of my order. I wish they made an effort to keep their stock updated. Also, the employees openly complain about their customers in front of customers. Two workers were complaining about about having to deal with online orders while I was there to pick up my online order and another needed balloons. It was 9:30 on a Saturday, pretty dead in the store, not sure why two customers were too much for 2 workers to manage. read more

I don't really shop at Michael's often. Mostly during the holidays for my Christmas crafts and the gifts I make family & friends. I always appreciate their low prices and variety of items. This review is specifically for the employee that helped us on Wednesday night December 14th. His name was Jeff. I've worked in retail my entire adult life & I know how hectic it can be, especially during the holidays. The work this he was putting in was admirable. He was ringing behind the register, delegating other employees, guiding other customers to the self checkout and items they needed, dealing with a loss prevention ordeal & still managed to sign us up for a membership and the discounts that came with it. This review is based primarily off of a phone call I made to this store. So. . .I'm a major crafter and in one of my craft groups on FB, someone (in another state) posted the Michaels in her area had "Black Heritage" vinyl that had African print. With BHM coming up, I wanted to get the vinyl too. I called all the stores closes to me and they did not have it. They didn't even get it in their stores for a short time *sad face* I decided to call the Michaels in Sunrise. Didn't think they'd have any but decided to just take a chance. The representative (I believe her name was Jackie) was extremely nice and she made sure she checked their inventory. Not only that but when I went in to pick up the 2 rolls she told me they had, I was met with 4 additional roles that I didn't know she ended up locating for me. This store is a bit out of my way but whenever I'm in that area, I will be sure to stop by and give them my business!! Awesome staff! read more

this is the third time I've gone into this store and felt like there is no one there who wants to assist me. Since putting in the self check out, there are few cashiers available. The one I spoke to today was resistant to answering my questions or giving me help. when I went into the store, I walked to the frame department, and before I could ask my question I was told that they probably couldn't help me even though it was a simple question about where to look. When the signage all over the store in the frames section was two for one. I assumed incorrectly that my frame was any two-for-one. at the counter i couldnt get help to figure out which frames were on sale without eye rolling. When I asked, could somebody bring me the frame that I needed more eye rolling is what I got. It seems that the management at this Michaels is not interested in training their employees for customer service. I am old school and from a time when people actually did want to serve the customers. Now that we have everything automated, maybe the management could look at their employee communications. I don't think I will be returning to this Michael's. though I did see some kindness of your employees to one another so I know kindness is possible amongst them. One was even willing to go back to the back of the store near the frames and bring the counter salesperson her drink. when I had to go to the back of the store to retrieve the second frame that I needed, there were a couple of employees, kindly talking to each other, and not to any other customers. Omg! I cannot recommend Ashlea enough!!!! She went above & beyond this evening. I needed a custom frame done for a funeral the next day and even though it's not their norm to be able to accommodate that she thought outside the box and helped me come up with a solution! Plus she was so fun to chat and hang out with for 30 min while my frame was getting made. On top of that she didn't know originally it was for a funeral. OK so I walked in with the intention of buying popsicle sticks for one of my kids school project, POPSICLE STICKS people! I walked out with a trunk full of other crap. I bought a canvas so big that it was a project just to fit it in my trunk with everything else. Guess what... The regular price for this 30x40 inch canvas was $40.00 and I walked out with it for $16.00. I was walking out of the store like that Ikea commercial because it felt like I had stolen it. They are having a 60% off sale on lots of things and canvas was one of them. I am super excited about that because I had been wanting that size for a while but I really didn't want to pay so much for it. I also got a coupon with the receipt that gives me 40% off any one regular price item the next time I go there. Granted it expires in 12 days but I so know I'll be in there before that. I had some questions and had a very sweet lady help me and the woman at the register was as happy as I was because of my finds and I thought that was super cool. The sale lasts until this Saturday. I find myself coming to Michaels occasionally when I find myself in need of some picture frames, home and seasonal decor or other random item to complete a project. They always have coupons and almost everything is on sale at one point or another. Never buy anything here without a coupon or on sale! Also make sure to come super early in the season for the best selection of seasonal decor. Like it's June currently and they already have their Fall decor out. Crazy! I came here on Saturday looking for some picture frames because they were 40% off (they almost always are) plus an additional 20% off with coupon, I really like their frame selection. They have a couple aisles with all different sorts of frames, but my only complaint is that the frames have been the same for the last few YEARS so I can't buy anymore without getting the same frames I have over again. Boo. I enjoy their home decor section as well which is normally garden themed and stocked with wicker baskets, vases, flowers, statuary, signs, etc. I usually find something that I like that's of good quality (as well as 40-50% off). I also like their custom made floral arraignments that they make in store. They are a lot better than the pre-made ones they get shipped in and of better quality as well. This particular Michaels location is almost identical to the other Michaels locations that I have been to with the same layout and service level. Lots of good stuff even if you're not an artsy person - picture frames, Xmas lights, baking molds, fun arts and crafts stuff for kids (great during the rainy weather) and fake flowers that look very real. There is also a lot of junk that you can buy, but I'm sure someone is buying it if they're keeping those treasures in stock. I don't know of any store that sells what they do and at the low prices. They're always having a sale or a coupon in the newspaper. And if you don't get a newspaper, there is always a coupon on their website which makes some items super cheap. read more

When I had a question about the paint that was stocked in the wrong place. The girl who has pink hair and glasses helped me and she was so disrespectful and rude, treating me like as if I didn't know how to even sing my ABCs. The previous summer, my boys (ages 3 and 6) have been participating in Michael's Passport to Imagination series for kids. These are art classes offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the summer. So far, my boys have created a foam fishing game and faux stained glass artwork (with face painting). They LOVE attending these classes and look forward to art class each week. The instructor is super nice (Tina maybe...?) and my boys have so much fun while they are there. The price is right, also. Classes are regularly $5 per student, but I signed up during a sale for 3 classes for $12. Michael's also offers project lesson plans online for classes you don't attend so your kids can complete the projects at home. I hope Michael's continues with this program next summer because I will definitely sign my kids up again. read more

I paid over $300 ot have a watercolor painting framed. While they did a good job, they neglected to put hanging wire on the back of the picture. It cannot be hung on the wall without the wire. When I called to ask for some wire, they wanted to charge me extra saying that it was too heavy to hang on the wall with wire even though they installed the loops on the back through which to run wire! I used to co-own an art gallery in SF and KNOW how pictures are supposed to be prepared for wall hanging. I will purchase some wire at Home Depot and take my framing business elsewhere! read more

This place is perfect for arts and crafts. Everything you need is here. They have decorations for all types of different events. Anywhere from weddings to birthday parties. We went in here the other day and I loved all the Halloween decorations they have out. Awesome!!! My fiancé comes here all the time. She loves it! Every party of Birthday we have this is her place! STAFF IS NOT CLEANING ANY CARTS BEFORE USE. Considering we are in a pandemic, could you just wipe down the carts as each customer needs one?

I really love this craft store for the selection and the staff. I have been coming here for years and I can't think of a single time when I didn't find exactly what I needed and then some. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable although most of the time the only staff members I ever see are the cashiers. I'm a bit of a crafter thankfully and don't require too much assistance when it comes to my projects. One thing I really love, not craft related, is the seasonal decor they carry. My favorite thing to do is walk those few isles on the right side of the store and find cute trinkets to decorate with. They also carry professional cake decorating stuff, not that I have a clue how to do that, but the icing, chocolates, molds etc can be bought by any amateur. One complaint I can mention are the long lines. They typically have one cashier, however on my recent visit they had a little kiosk in the line where an additional employee rang up my items with a handheld scanner, bagged them and handed me a card for the cashier to quickly charge me for. That's definitely new since my last visit. read more

This store offers fantastic crafty inspirations to all who dare to let their imaginations run wild a free. I love to come in when I have a 40-50% off coupon to burn or just to get inspired. I went way over my budget for my wedding because I actually was too inspired every time I walked through the doors-totally worth it! There are always amazing clearance and discounted items that are nestled about and waiting to jump in your cart. It's pretty cool to just cruise around and get inspired. I see people of all ages getting crafty and they have everyone's style here. Art, paint, stickers, beads, wood, stationary, knit, yarn, baking, home decor and the list goes on and on. I have never been treated so poorly at any store before. Sandra was a very rude cashier. She gave me a rude tone and said she had a long line. I looked behind me and there were only three people behind me. She told me the store didn't have coupons when obviously there's coupons online all the time for Michaels and refused to accept them when I searched for it on my phone. She did this out of pure laziness. I feel like the customer service is lacking and employees should get retrained. Next time I need supplies, I'll shop in a different store where the environment is less negative and toxic. read more

Probably not a good idea to turn the lights out in the store when you have a line of customers in a hurry to check out. This may lead to a way bigger issue than whatever issue you were dealing with tonight that made you a screaming psycho. 3. Don't speak negatively about other customers in front of the entire line of customers waiting to check out. 4. Don't treat your peers like crap and yell at them because you are in a bad mood. 5. I used to go here very often to get my art supplies but I recently had an experience with their customer service that made me extremely disappointed. I went in with my michaels coupons, one was $5 reward for being a michaels rewards members and the other was the 50% off a regular priced item that they always give out. I chose two items, one to use with each coupon. The lady at the cashier was extremely rude saying how I couldn't use both. (I would understand if she said it politely but she didn't) I asked if I could separate the orders and she still said no very rudely. But here's the thing! The fine print on the coupon (pic attached below) says that I can't use the SAME TYPE of coupon in the same day (such as two 50% on the same day) but the two coupons I had were obviously different types and I was going to buy it separately for each item yet she still refused. NOWHERE does it say one coupon PER CUSTOMER. The staff obviously know nothing about their own policies and are extremely rude about it. read more

This store is much larger than the store in Rancho by my house but oddly enough, the wedding section wasnt as large. Not sure why either.
