I bought a Groupon and took a friend. Location was easy to get to from Vacaville. Easy off freeway and parking in front. MUST WEAR A MASK Class was setup with plexiglass stations and all tools needed including goggles. WEAR CLOSED TOE SHOES and will make sense to you. Cathy instructor was very down to earth with great personality. She explained each step and helped as much as you needed. You do not need special skills. You need patience and let the inner child come out and design something great. The owners/mgrs/head chicks are so nice. Good vibe place and you feel welcome. Maybe a new addiction read more

Tried out the flower fusion class with a Groupon which was a perfect solo date activity! It's family friendly as well, the instructor walked us through each step and encouraged our artistic creativity. Recommend to park on the street as the spots in front are for another business. read more

I went to rainbow glass for a restoration project, the price was extremely high but I naively agreed to the price because I didn't know what goes into stained glass. Upon receiving my piece the quality of work seemed extremely questionable . I posted my restored piece on the stained glass sub reddit and got dozens of comments confirming that I did in fact get scammed, and the quality of work was horrendous. I will not be going back and I cannot recommend this shop less. read more

I recently got into stained glass artwork and they had almost everything I needed to get started. Although there was one item I needed that was out of stock, they wrote my number down and called me when they got it in. Honestly, incredibly nice people, amazing prices, and just good vibes. So glad I found my go-to spot for my stained glass needs. read more

First off, our window is beautiful. I would suggest that anyone commissioning a piece from this studio maintain frequent communication to ensure their project is moving forward and that there are no issues regarding dimensions and color. Once all the miscommunication was resolved, the window moved forward rapidly to completion and as stated is beautiful and graces the house. Phil and Shelly are good to work with individually, but it may be better to funnel your measurements and color choices through Shelly as that seemed to cause less confusion. Overall though it wasn't a bad experience and I would have given five stars if there hadn't been hiccups that delayed the completion of the window. read more

This place is horrible! The people are extremely rude. We had a large group sign up for a class. We got there, they had nothing set up. There was not enough seats for everyone. Chaos. The gals were talking to other customers. We were an hour in before we got our tools and could actually start. They gave no group instruction. Only helped a few individuals. They gave us scraps to use and yelled if we chose better glass. They were extremely rude to everyone. Then they cut the "class" off 30 mins early to start another group. When we turned our rushed unfinished pieces in, they up charged another 8 dollars to make the curved glass. Which was the glass we took! To top it off, I pick up my piece. The gal was very rude . My glass has some sand like stuff that will not come off on the back. You can't even see thru it. I threw it out! Save yourself the trouble and expense. Go elsewhere! read more

Always good service and great selection of glass bits to sort through. Obviously creativity is supported here

I have lived in the Sacramento area for 50 years and never been to Rainbow Glass... in business for the same number of years. If you like painted pottery, paint nights, or other instructed art type activities you will love Rainbow Glass! My adopted mom asked for gift cards as she wanted to start taking classes and there were some Groupons available we had a group of about 10 go last night to make a basket weave design. The hardest task picking out your 14 colors you want. The instructors are patient and kind. They allowed us to bring some snacks and drinks as well. I was the pokey one and last one to finish but never felt rushed. I have included a photo of my prepped basket weave that will be fired, melted and shaped into a bowl. read more

I am so excited I found this place. They have classes where you could make stained glass and I was talking with one of the owners about watercolor classes where they teach you how to paint on glass. I have an old stained glass panel my friend made for me ages ago, and the lead strip on top was coming apart, so it wasn't safe to hang any more. They fixed it for me, put new ring-hanger-things (don't know what to call them, LOL) on it, and did a great job! It's a cool shop with tons of sparkly things to look at! Everyone was very cool and friendly too. read more

I have been taking classes here for over a year. The staff is very personal, friendly and helpful. They have a variety of fun classes to choose from incorporating many types of glass art: stained glass, fusing glass, glass blowing, leaded glass, etc. It is a very warm and inviting place to meet with others that enjoy glass work. I will continue taking classes to learn more and more, and the social aspect is great too! read more

We had a fusion glass party of 11. It was so much fun and the entire staff was so helpful. The instructor was amazing as she had no problem giving each and everyone instructions and individual attention. We all can't wait for our first projects to be ready for pickup. If you want to learn a new craft and have fun doing, this is a must. Much more fun than a painting class party. They set up a table for the snacks I brought and made everyone feel welcomed. Really a fun evening. Thanks Rainbow Glass for the hospitality and instructive night!!!! read more

Took a class here, was great! The owner was very personable and obviously loved her work and her studio. Would take another class again.

Very very very disappointing. I took a lamp in to be repaired and it "disappeared" it was a one of a kind $5k lamp ( as appraised by the owner). I was offered a replacement but have not received a thing! i look at the lamp base sitting empty and am so very upset that something I treasured has now been lost forever with no care or consideration by Philip or his wife. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING THERE TO BE FIXED AS IT TOO MAY "DISAPPEAR" Thanks for nothing. read more

My sister and I came and checked out the store because I am thinking of doing a stained glass project for my home, and so I'm thought it would be good to come and take a look at the store, and see what they are about. Upon arrival, we saw some students' artworks and some other works that were for sale. Towards the back of the store, there is a ton of glass for purchase for projects, and we saw that they have kits for beginners and such. We took our time walking around the store, but no one asked us if we needed help or have any questions. There was one lady who was on her phone and another lady who seemed really busy behind the counter. Unfortunately that day I was not feeling too well, so we decided to go home, and call them once I'm closer to being able to take a class there and do a project, so I shall update my review after that happens. read more

This was a fun activity for date night or with a group of friends. The staff are very nice and helpful. They have something for everyone.

Great people. Classes available and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have stained glass art available for sale.

Rainbow Glass owner Phil is a wealth of knowledge. He spent the day teaching us the origins of glass making through glass used in the space shuttles. Along with his knowledge he is also a very patient teacher and takes you through all the steps of glass blowing. A wonderful experience and my Fibonacci paperweight is beautiful as well as the glass projects my friends made. Thank you Rainbow Glass! read more

I took my mom here on Saturday, and we had a lot of fun playing with glass. We had never done anything with glass before, it was easy and fun. One piece of advice, don't take a long time to find your art design. It may not leave you enough time to finish your project. The good news is they allow you to come back during the week to finish. read more

Surly is one thing...however all I have to say is Holy abrasive hell... So, let me tell you what a disappointment this place was. I was super stoked to go check out this place as I recently started thinking about getting into stained glass as another one of my thousand hobbies. they are apparently one of the only glass supply stores in town. I could have easily bought all I needed online however I love supporting local businesses. They advertised that today they were open till 8pm...so We hurried down fighting 5pm traffic from downtown to the north area. A super pleasant hour in the car talking about how we can't wait to see the awesome glass selection. As soon as we walk in she greets us and runs over to turn the open sign off. Granted Me and the wife got there around 6. (Luckily we made it in time lol) Im guessing they don't get many young, hip and attractive people coming in that are not interested in dedicating months to becoming a glass master of the universe and are just there to buy a few things and support local businesses As we immediately got the hard sale on some 13+week class that apparently "people drive from Reno to come to" ...rad. Once the lady got the hint we weren't going to sign up for a class...which literally involved me having to say "I'm not sure if that's something I'm interested in doing" she then got amazingly defensive and started quizzing me on brands and generally making me feel a bit like we were intruding on their sewing circle - I get it..apparently shes knowledgeable, a legend in her field, but believe it or not some people might be interested in stained glass as a hobby not a livelihood, sorry if that insults your core being. my wife thought she might have been put off because I was not a 60year old Caucasian lady - which prob speaks to her assumption of my dad being a plumber. Electrician would probably be a better guess as to go with our Asian genetics. You know..technology and all.. Speaking of which, guess I'll just stick with Amazon where the prices are cheaper and delivery to my front door without the 'tude read more

This was my first experience working with glass and not only do I think it turned out wonderful, but I had a great time! This family run business brings you in as a stranger and meets you where you are, supports you and when I left I felt like a part of the family. There are all sorts of options depending on what you enjoy and where you want to go with the craft. I was given a tour of the kilns by the owner and grateful to meet his daughter who is an art therapist and committed to supporting people with special needs gaining skills. I highly recommend this establishment and very much appreciate the opportunity to explore a new method to express myself though art! Thank you! read more

Rainbow Glass - Class schedule - Art Supplies Near Me - Sacramento, California

I started taking beginner stained glass classes here a few months ago, I sincerely love going to classes and enjoy the relaxed nature of the instruction. I had previous stained glass experience so they gave me a refresher course and are there to support me when I have questions and challenges with my techniques. The owners are delightful, they are the cutest married couple with a dog names Teddy Bear. Their children and friends work at the business as well. They treat everyone like family. As an avid Amazon user I will often look up the tools and products I need for my projects on Amazon to see if I can get a better deal- surprisingly enough Rainbow Glass prices are comparable to Amazon pricing, plus purchasing from Rainbow gives you the pride of supporting a long standing, family run business that works hard to protect and foster a love for glass art. If you are considering taking classes to learn a new skill I definitely recommend going to Rainbow glass, learning to create something beautiful- using tools and measurements and physics of glass is very fun and engaging for the mind! read more

Pretty sad. Called before I drove 1 1/2 hours to get there and was told they had a great selection of 90 COE fusing glass. I needed two sheets for a custom order. Arrived to find very, very poor selection. They not only didn't have what I needed, but they didn't have much at all. They seemed more interested in knowing who I was (as if it really mattered) and informing me that they had never heard of me (I could care less) than in actually helping me. I am a very, very busy glass artist and show my work through shows and in galleries. I have more glass in my working studio that they had at Rainbow. If they had only been honest with me, it would have saved me 3 hours of driving. WIll not be returning. read more

Magnificent experience. The staff was very knowledgeable, patient, amusing and helpful. I am not the least bit creative but Phil and Demise Made me feel like the Rembrandt of Glass art. I cannot express my overall satisfaction with the people and the level of expertise we encountered. If I could rate it 6 stars I would. I will go back and take others with me. The women here are so helpful and helped me find the best colors for my glass project. They are truly kind and go above and beyond. If you have time to peruse, you can find some hidden gems in their selection, especially in the sale and scrap sections - I found so many bundles of beautiful glass for between $5-$15. The store is cozy, casual, and fun to spend time shopping in. Can't wait to go back! read more

I went to this store with the intent of supporting a local brick-and-mortar shop instead of buying online. I hoped that my visit would inspire me to take on a new hobby and show me a new resource to get information and expertise about working with glass. That did not happen, and I will not be supporting this local business. The elderly woman working in the back who helped me was the wrong mix of information and attitude. She seemed put out when answering my questions and was condescending with many of her responses. I'm sure she knows her subject well, but if she cannot communicate her knowledge in a way that engages others so they don't feel put down, then what does it matter? I found a great video for $25 that will teach me exactly what I want to learn, and I can get all my supplies at a better price on Amazon. Opportunity for a new customer missed, Rainbow Glass. read more
