This place is awesome. They have everything you need to craft and or work on a side hustle. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they have a co-working space as well. It's a cozy spot to be creative.

The teachers here are amazing! My middle schooler even had a teacher from his old public school, which was super helpful since he planed to go back to public high school later. This kept him on track (and even ahead) with what he needed to know. Something that I love is that the kids are outside ALL THE TIME! They have class outside, eat lunch outside, and do pretty much everything outside unless the weather is really bad. In summer, they sit under shady trees with nice breezes. In winter, they bundle up with jackets and blankets near space heaters. It reminds me of how European kids spend way more time outdoors instead of being stuck inside all day. My kids have learned tons and made great friends here. If you've read the book "Wild and Free," this school follows that idea perfectly. Kids learn, play, and grow at their own speed. Even if your kids go to regular school, Wild Roots has awesome summer camps that cost less than a babysitter! The kids learn cool stuff while having fun outside. I tell everyone looking for homeschool help around Folsom to check out Wild Roots. It's been such a great place for my family!

But thankfully, there's a nice little cafeteria with affordable prices, okay for lunch or snacks. We'll definitely be back tomorrow! It's a great spot both for families with kids and for adults without children. There are slides, inflatable toys, and even an Olympic-size pool. There are plenty of lifeguards around, and one big plus for me: they play music! It really lifts the mood. We loved it!

First, I really think it is tacky on their part to charge a separate $4 fee for the obstacle course which requires a wristband. Especially given that you then have to queue up just for a turn. While it is a cool feature it is annoying that you have to oay an entrance fee then this additional fee. I suggest they Just up the fee a couple of bucks and let anyone use it. Gripe number two, the lifeguards. Bros... chillll the F out! While I admire and respect their commitment to safety, they are a bit overzealous in regards to their enforcement of the rules. I wonder if because there are so many of them that they need to find any little thing to jump on to but the vigor that they use to address even the most minor violation such as kids running or hanging on the swim lines is so out of proportion that it is a bit absurd. I can't help but mess with them a little bit just out of spite. Aside from the issues mentioned it is a pretty cool place with a variety of options (waterside and kiddie area) that make for a fun way to beat the heat.

She is 11 years old, and this was her very first time ever being on a horse. The entire staff is SO lovely, and they were incredibly attentive and caring when my daughter expressed feeling nervous in the beginning. In fact, my daughter loved it so much that she's already ready to do the 2-hour trail ride next, and I'll definitely be signing her up for lessons here! Shadow Glen truly is a wonderful place filled with great people and beautiful horses. We met our "wrangler" Grace who gave us a refresher on the do's and don'ts while riding before starting. She gave very clear instructions and tips along the way as we rode. Anyone new to riding would have a great experience if they follow the instructions. Not our first time riding, but if you don't ride regularly it's still good to have a refresher talk. Grace also had some interesting historical notes about the landscape. Lots of beautiful wild flowers and butterflies made for a fun picturesque ride. We only did the hour ride today, and on a weekday the group ride was just the two of us which was nice. Beautiful scenery, nice staff and friendly horses.
