I destroyed all the items in room and the additional windshield. Staff was very friendly and professional when checking me. They have lockers for your stuff so you won't drop it. What better way to celebrate a birthday than going to a rage room? I've always wanted to go to one of these, and I love the fact that Sac has a couple of these. I found this place thanks to Offbeat Coffee a couple shops down the plaza. We decided to book a room for a friend's birthday, and I initially thought "no way this is worth the money". Um... long story short, you quickly find out how much pent up anger/energy you have when you get to swinging. A couple of downsides-- while there were three of us, only two of us took our rage out. There aren't that many items, so we found that the 20 minute time limit was more than enough. We (as in the two of us) pretty much destroyed everything to pieces in 10 minutes. If you decide that you want to go with a bigger group, definitely upgrade and purchase more items to smash. Also, we came at peak 100 degree weather and this place is not air conditioned. By the end of this, we were covered in sweat, especially because the safety hats and gloves are required in the rage rooms as well. So I'd make note of that before your visit. The employees rushed through safety measures as if they were unconcerned for the smash room on the throwing axes. They told us to have fun as their instructions, but then came through and corrected several things we were doing that they hadn't told us like we were supposed to just know we also got charged for several things that they just forgot to give us so we had to continue to remind them. I went to Smash Sacramento the day after Valentine's Day with some family and we did the rage room, which had an anti Valentine's Day theme and was such a fun twist. They gave everyone roses and candy and we even got to take home a really cute Polaroid, which made it feel more like an experience and not just breaking stuff. Our $140 package for three people included a small file box sized case of bottles, three wine glasses, a printer, a keyboard, and two tables to smash, and midway through we added another table and another case of beer bottles because we were having so much fun. It is genuinely a great place to let off steam and adds some novelty to life, especially if you have never done anything like this before. Everyone in our group had a good time. They only have about two or three rage rooms, so you definitely need a reservation because they book out. I have also done the axe throwing there before, which is fun but can feel a little intimidating at first. I am honestly mixed on whether it is the best date spot because you will definitely be sweating. The rooms run hot and the protective jumpsuits make it even warmer, plus you wear helmets so you need to think about your hair because a high ponytail or bun will not fit well. It is open to ages 12 and up, and you can bring your own items to break, but you do have to pay a fee to bring them in. Overall, it is a fun, high energy experience that is perfect if you want something different to do in Sacramento. they also have so many fun little tools to destroy stuff. customer service is pretty good. not outrageously good but everyone is respectful! My friend and I visited Smash Sacramento's downtown location and opted for the 20-minute rage room session for $36. (The larger the group the more time is given). Initially, we thought 20 minutes wouldn't be enough, but we were pleasantly surprised. By the end, we were completely worn out and had smashed everything within the time limit! It was an exhilarating and incredibly fun experience, and I would absolutely return for another session. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and had a great sense of humor, which added to the overall vibe of the place. The location itself isn't very large, but there's still plenty of space for all the activities offered, which include rage rooms ranging from $36 up to $75 depending on what you would like to smash and $20 axe throwing. One thing we noticed was the sound of smashing from nearby rooms. While it added to the chaotic atmosphere in a funny way, the rooms themselves were quite worn down (ofc due to the activities that they involve), with mesh cloth as the "ceiling." This made it feel less private than we expected. Since this was my first time trying an activity like this, I'm not sure how it compares to other venues, so it wasn't a major issue especially since I still had a great time, but I would appreciate a bit more privacy in the future. Overall, Smash Sacramento is a great place for letting loose and trying something different. For a group of 3-4 the whole thing lasted around 20 minutes, and you can add an extra windshield to break for $15. Honestly though, our group was pretty chill and didn't even finish smashing everything. They give you a hazmat suit, and you'll want to wear it. Glass flies everywhere, and the paintball splatter (it's washable) will bounce back on your clothes. Don't go in there thinking you'll stay clean. Big warning: it gets hella hot in there. We went in the afternoon and it felt like a damn sauna. Do yourself a favor and book in the morning. That said, it was a solid workout. We had an appointment scheduled for a Friday afternoon, and did the bad week package, which included the paintball gun as one of your weapons. We also paid the extra fee to add a windshield. We arrived to the facility 15 minutes before our scheduled time to check in and get situated. The lady who helped us was really nice and explained to us all the rules we needed to know to make it safe and fun for everyone. They do give you gloves and a helmet with a face shield to wear. They also give you an option to wear their coveralls. I would recommend wearing one especially if you are using a paintball gun and you don't want to risk getting your clothes dirty. After our smashing session was done, we handed the guy our helmets and threw our gloves into the dirty gloves bin. We were a party of 6 and it came to about $23 per person. I believe they are currently running weekend specials on their site. It was summer, so most of us showed up in shorts and short sleeves. I was under the impression that they would provide protective gear, like a jumpsuits, as I have seen in videos at other locations, but I was wrong. I did not like this place. It was dirty and smelly. It felt like you walked into your friends dirty house. I had on shorts because it was said on the website when booking that coveralls where available. Nope!!! Not so. It was not worthy the money we spent. This place is raggedy and over priced. First of this is a great way to release excess energy but I had a couple of issues. First, the face shields that were given were extremely hard to see out of, so I recommend better face shields. I tried axe throwing for the first time and it was SOO MUCH FUNN !! They provide a basic introduction of what the rules are and possible games to play with friends. I like how they provide space for you to do what you want but they're also there to provide tips and guidance if needed. I was a bit uneasy about axe throwing since I've seen those videos where the axe ricochets back at you but i actually felt pretty safe here. The distance isn't too long and they dull out the blade so it isn't as sharp. I think this is a great spot for newbies/ beginners. If you are close to 7 feet tall step BEHIND the box. They didn't tell us that he should to step way back behind of the box recommendation...he wasn't making any axe throws & finally at the end when we asked is it bc he's tall they told us that he had to step way back. We tipped them for their help & taking pictures of us, it would've been nice to tell us earlier that tall people need to be behind the box & not in the box. Break their rules tall people! I tried to channel my inner Wreck It Ralph as I entered Smash Sacramento, though I'm more of a Fix It Felix and some of my smashing attempts were laughable at best. You're able to reserve a room along with a bucket of items to destroy, we received a ton of glass bottles, keyboards and VHS tapes. Though you can get bigger items and even paintballs. They suit you up in a safety helmet with a visor, gloves and an optional pull on work suit that covers your legs and arms. We opted not to use it, but one of our group members decided a few minutes in that she wanted it since she was wearing shorts. After our first experience I would say, absolutely wear the jumpsuit, glass and particles fly EVERYWHERE. They give you a variety of "weapons" as well, baseball bats, a crowbar, some sort of heavy rod with a ball on the end and I'm sure they have others if you order bigger experiences. I think the most enjoyable thing for me was playing baseball with the glass bottles, I was terrible at it, but if you hit them just right there's a great crack and the bottles shatter everywhere. The keyboards were a workout to demolish and we made sure to smack every key off during our twenty minute session. The VHS tapes were surprisingly, or not so surprisingly, easy to break. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they were happy to answer questions and provide alcohol swabs, bandaids etc. if there were any cuts or scrapes afterward (I only got a little sliver of glass in my finger, since I took my glove off to take photos.) There is also a parking lot which makes it really easy to show up and get to smashing, it's a little tight but there are plenty of spots. They also have ax throwing which sounds fun too! Maybe I didn't have enough pent up anger, but I had more fun watching my friends smash things while I hovered in the corner trying not to get hit with too much debris. I could see this being extremely helpful after a breakup, a bad day at work, a fight or anything else that leaves you feeling a bit angry or upset. Personally, I prefer an ugly cry and a favorite sad/happy tears movie and maybe some Phish Food Ben and Jerry's but this'll do the trick too. read more

Visited this place as our date night this past week and it was great to experience a different time of event then a dinner and a movie! We came only for the axe throwing but this place had quite an interesting set-up with different rooms for destruction in addition to the axe throwing areas. We arrived a bit early so that staff was still setting up but we got to enjoy a full hour of axe/tomahawk/knife throwing. The staff member that helped was helpful and helped us understanding the rules as well as basic throwing tips. Throughout our time a couple staff members also came by and checked out on us but wasn't obtrusive at all. During our time you definitely hear people enjoying themselves in the smash room. It can get loud but they did offer earplugs. Although it was quite the opposite and just makes me want to visit to smash a windshield and some printers haha! Anyways beyond that, the only issue I really had is that there was a sparse number of amenities with some light beverages and snacks. If this place could get an alcohol license they could really have the whole package. Regardless, it was a great experience and I imagine I'll be coming back again soon! read more

Doctors should surely prescribe this kind of post Covid activity for everyone! The loving girlfriend brought me here as a surprise for my bday with some friends and it was a smash! We signed some waivers and started with an hour tossing axes, knives and tomahawks at a wooden bullseye. Talk about extreme darts!! Staff showed us some technique, explained some games we could play, and went over some safety precautions. It's definitely easier than we thought and by the end we felt like modern day Viking warriors ready for battle! After the axe throwing we put on some safety gear (I recommend the jump suit- trust me- ricochet glass is no fun), and we entered the rage room for some much needed destruction therapy. Letting out all our shelter in place enduced stress by breaking everything we could get our hands on was a blast! I highly recommend this activity to let out some aggression and find your inner woosaah by the end! I'd give it a 5 star for the experience- but an awkward incident dropped the score a bit... While signing waivers we heard what sounded like an altercation and glass break, followed by a shriek from the back and staff went running... A few minutes later, the guys returned carrying a co-worker (or friend) wearing one shoe and bleeding to the front staff office where she spent the next hour+ recovering. Hoping she didn't have a medical issue, but it appeared based on what we heard, saw, and staff reaction she was in a fight or intoxicated or both. The staff was awesome, even accommodating our need to change time slots. That's where the good stops. We paid $184.74 for five of us to spend 12 minutes- no exaggeration (including instruction time) smashing a handful of beer bottles, two compost pots, a metal coffee pot, a TI-82 calculator, and a cash register receipt printer- really about $2.50 worth of stuff picked up at a thrift shop. The booking shows 20mins - an hour depending on group. It wouldn't have taken 20 minutes for one person to smash the abysmal amount of items provided. The staff is outside timing you and you get certain tools to smash with. There's wooden rooms but openings underneath them so glass from the other room can get into your room. I had a reservation on august 7th at 5pm. We came in early and I dont know who the man's name was that greeted us, but it was a tall, big, white man. When he asked us if we had any questions, i asked him how long we had, and he completely ignored me and just closed the door. You might think he just didnt hear me, but he looked straight at me and waited until i was done asking before he left. Afterwards, when my friend and i were finished with the rage room, he only asked my male friend how it was and completely ignored me as if I wasnt there.
