Great place to visit in Sacramento for the holidays! It's mostly light up attractions with plenty of themed spaces around the area for photo opportunities. There's a foam machine that makes fake snow that my friends and I pranced and danced around in. Perfect for families, friends, or a nice date. They have a carnival area with classic carnival rides and carnival food you can purchase. Otherwise, I didn't see anyone selling food on site. I recommend making this a before/after dinner activity. My friends and I ended up getting ice cream after this! It was cold, yes, but we're never too cold for ice cream.

I had purchased tickets for this in early December for the date of 13th. A family emergency came up that day and I was unable to make it. When I emailed customer service to see if I could reschedule, they were prompt to reply and guided me in the right direction. I was able to change the date to the 20th... though I had to change again due to it raining. So I set it for the 27th... and this time was finally a go. There was stop-and-go traffic about five miles from the freeway exit and it was pretty much that way getting into Cal Expo. I think I underestimated how many people were going to show up being it was after Christmas. But needless to say, I could see what all the hype was about. The lights on display were a thing of beauty. And I admire the thought process of putting this all together. We took a lot of great photos. The circus show was a little short, but fun to watch. It can be a little overwhelming navigating the drive as well as through crowds of people at a big event like this. But it's a good time with family and festive vibes. There was so much to take in thay we ended up staying longer than expected. Not a bad thing of course.

This is such a fun and festive activity to do with your family and friends. We bought tickets online and got the unlimited ride option. There was a long line to get in but it went quickly. The decorations were all so pretty and there were so many great photo ops. There are a lot of good food options as well. Only downside is getting your ride wristband. We had to wait in a really long line that is the same line to purchase wristbands. They should've had a separate area for redeeming prepaid wristbands.

Took our family of five the weekend after thanksgiving and it was a very long line to get in! We stood in line for about 30 minutes, however once we got inside the line, the crowd dispersed, and it didn't feel as crowded. This isn't our first time here but I really loved the change in flow. Before you would walk in right to the lights and all the vendors would be in the back however, this time you've got like a sample of some lights and you had to walk through all the food vendors to get to the main attraction and rides. This sucks for parents as the kids will for sure ask for a churro or two but it's awesome for the small businessss! The only on that I have from this event is that I didn't buy a ride tickets upfront, and the line to purchase tickets were extremely long as they only had two booths working. Also, the price for a family of five to enter was a bit high for our two hour spent. Overall it was a great family evening to kick off the holiday season!

This is a cute place to look at Christmas lights and take pictures. It's at the Cali expo so the event is huge. So many lights to look at. They have some rides but mostly for kids, some shopping booths, and food tents for hot chocolate or funnel cakes. They also offer music concert, a circus show and ice skating. If you want to take your family out or go on a cute date I would definitely check this place out.

The lights displays were lovely and abundant, eve though I came after the holidays were over. I enjoyed the lights and set ups with my friend, and we had fun with taking photos, riding the ferris wheel and sliding down slides. Ice skating and other rides were also available. I enjoyed the hefty gyro food truckvfir dinner and liked how Thai, pho, and Iater tacos were available too. A circus show with performers from Las Vegas was fun. We had a nice time walking amidst the lights and displays in the winter cold.

I thought Imaginaruim really fun for a family event! My kids are age 6, 7 and 12 and they all said they want to go back next year. The lights are beautiful and fun to walk-through and take photos. They had lots of interactive things for the kids. The ice skating rink wasn't worth it in my opinion but everything else was. They had food trucks, but not as many at the fair. There were a lot more in the back, but you have to walk to get to them and not just stop at the ones right in front that have a really long lines. Same with the carnival rides and games. There is a decent amount, but not as much as the fair. I would compare it to a mini state fair. It worth the trip if you're looking for some family fun in winter!

So much fun for a dates or a family outing! I've been twice and this year it was far more updated than two years ago. They have sooo many lights to see. There's rooms with different vibes and photo opportunities. There's gardens to walk through, different seating and giant sculptures. There's also a room with chalk to color! They also have food trucks available for pizza, thai food, sweet treats and other fair-type food. There's also a small market to purchase backpacks, blankets, jewelry, pillows and my favorite was a little gem, rocks and minerals shop. There are carnival rides and games to play. I took away one star because the rides and games are quite ridiculous in price. They also have some shows to watch, like a motorcycle show where they ride around inside a tiny ball upside down and such. Pretty cool! I paid $18 to get in, and about $50 on drinks and food. It was a lot of fun! Definitely great for some pictures.

We try to bring the kids every year. We love it as a family. There are a ton of lights, displays, photo booths when walking around. It is pricey but definitely worth it since we go once a year. The whole place just looks magical and pictures are usually amazing.

Beautiful heart arches to walk thru

This was our first time visiting the Imaginarium in Sacramento at Christmas, and it was definitely worth every penny! OKAY, THIS PLACE IS SO UNDERRATED -- FOR REALS!!! If you want a family-friendly event that won't break the bank like Disneyland, you've got to try this. It was such a fun experience for my teenagers and for us as adults -- I can only imagine what goes through little kids' minds when they see all the lights. They do a really great job decorating for Christmas. If you haven't tried this as a family, I say you've got to go at least once!

This is a great experience my fiancé and I like to do every year. They always have a huge light displays that are different themed every year. Games, rides, carnival food, different food vendors, live performances, ice skating, and more. They have a discounted price if you buy a 4 pack of tickets. I always have fun when I come here :)

A new attraction "Tubes…read morePlayground" was advertised on the website for this Sacramento location, but instead there was a sign that read "Coming Soon" so maybe call ahead to confirm attractions. Although the Sky Ride was closed, the kids still had fun jumping and flipping on the Apex trampoline and running through the Warrior course. It was very packed and busy. I felt that this visit wasn't as great at my last; place seemed like it needs a deep clean and better ventilation because of the smell of sweat and chaos. I ordered nachos at the cafe, the nacho cheese sauce they used this time wasn't good so I wouldn't recommend ordering these again. Way too oily and slightly bitter. Even with attractions closed and food not what I expected, we still enjoyed ourselves and will come back when the "Tube Playground" is finally installed. We will skip the food at the cafe and just get refreshments. Hopefully our next visit will be great like previous visits!

I am beyond disgusted with my experience at Urban Air Adventure Park Sacramento…read more My 7 year old son went there to have fun, and instead left scared for his safety. A group of teenage boys approached him, called him "little N" multiple times, and tried to lure him by saying they had candy and telling him to come to them. Let that sink in. A child was racially harassed and made to feel like he was about to be kidnapped inside a place that is supposed to be safe for kids. He ran and told his godmother, who immediately reported it to management. And what did they do? Nothing meaningful. The teens were not removed. They were allowed to stay and continue occupying the same space as the children they just targeted. That is unacceptable. This is bigger than "kids being kids." This is racism and dangerous behavior being ignored. When a business allows that kind of environment to continue, they are part of the problem. My son is biracial but does not appear to be, and he was targeted without hesitation. No child should have to experience that kind of fear just to play. Urban Air failed to protect him. They failed to act. And they failed to create a safe environment. If you are a parent, especially a parent of Black children, you need to seriously consider whether this is a place where your child will actually be safe. Do better.

The overall size limited the trip and we worked through it faster than anticipated. It was quite busy but the overall vibe was fun. The second visit was way more enjoyable and we decided to visit due to the addition of a reptile exhibit that included hands on experiences with snakes, lizards, and more! The exhibit was not as packed when we arrived this time, so my kids got to play in the water room much longer and then do the Dino coloring for a bit before they setup the show. Many kids arrived at the show time, but there was plenty of room and the hosts were awesome. It's a well designed, compacted, intuitively creative, and incredible dinosaur immersion experience! Price is affordable - just stick to the basic package and you'll have a wonderful time. Is it big? No. Is it so large you want to rush through? No. Is it fun for a date? Depends on your preference. Will your young kids have a wonderful time? YES! Will you have a great time? If you love creativity, have imagination, and enjoy seeing the glow in your children's eyes with looks of discovery and awe.. then you will absolutely love this. Parking is limited but plenty of availability when we went late afternoon. Parking immediately across the street is cheaper, just pay the attendant at the actual site first. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ambiance of Dinos Alive is cloudy with smog machines, dark, mysterious, and immersed you into "dino zone." Plenty of large dinos for families to enjoy (and touch - wasn't sure if this was allowed but we did it anyways as I'm sure the creators intended it for young kids). Take it slow, don't rush. Done with your tour? Backtrack back to the beginning and do it all over again! First round you're typically taking pictures. So make the second round a fun experience for yourself and absorb everything the Dinos Alive staff put together. Afterwards, there's a fun station for coloring dinos and scanning them to show up walking on a projector! Pretty darn cool, if I says so myself. Fun little eggs to take photos in. Excavation zone to dust off dinosaur bones. Couple rides for young kids with a small and big dino to take some videos. Small shop to purchase stuff if your wallet feels generous. The entire experience, with backtracking and seeing the dinos twice while taking our sweet time and messing with the kids, took a little over 1 hour. If you rush through, it'll take a measly 10 minutes (so don't do that). Highly recommended if you have children who are into dinosaurs! An experience you might forget, but definitely an experience the kids will remember!

What We Loved Immersive Play: The range of play structures is incredible. Our kids were obsessed with the recreations of famous children's books--walking through Mr. McGregor's Farm felt like stepping right into a storybook. Animals & Nature: Beyond the slides and climbing, the petting zoo and the peaceful Japanese pond (Urashima Taro) provided a great change of pace for the kids. Why It's a Must-Visit What makes this place even more amazing is that it's a non-profit. Knowing that your $10 admission (an absolute steal for the quality of the park!) goes back into maintaining such a creative space for the community makes the experience even better.
