Kids love it here! Great place to get some energy out of the kids. They evens have some animals to view here. It's not too big but big enough to entertain the kids for a good while. There is also an are you can draw, play with toys, and read books. Tickets are $10 and kids under 2 are free.

Brought our little one here, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The whole park is designed around classic fairy tales, with well-built play areas like King Arthur's Castle, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Crooked Mile. Every section has something fun for kids to climb, slide, or explore, and it's all in a safe, enclosed space. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has plenty of shaded seating for parents to relax while the kids burn off energy. The small farm animals, like donkeys and sheep, give it an extra touch that keeps kids engaged. Admission is affordable, and parking is easy. If you have young kids, this is one of the best spots in Sacramento. We'll definitely be coming back.

I've been getting membership here for a few years now. The breakeven point is 4 visits so it's worth it if you plan on going a few times a year. Membership comes with 2 free guest passes and discounts on drinks. This is a great place for young kids. It's like a giant playground. There is a limited age range that this would appeal most to which is around 2-8 years old. I first took my son here when he was 2 years old and he was too young and only went on one of the small slides. So far at 4 years old has been the optimal age and he's been able to do all the slides and activities and asks to go every week. There's themes throughout the year. My son loved "talk like a pirate" day with all the pirate themed crafts. There are small animal enclosures here with tortoise, pigs, goats, pony, cow, and sheep. There is a small food court with ice cream, shaved ice, nachos, hot dogs, corn dogs, pretzel, and some snacks for the little ones such as string cheese and pb&j snacks.

such a charming gem for families with young kids! The park brings classic nursery rhymes and fairytales to life with adorable themed play areas like the Crooked Mile, the Jack and Jill hill, and the Three Little Pigs' brick house (which my kids ran in and out of at least 20 times!). It's not a flashy theme park, but that's part of its charm--it's more nostalgic and imaginative than commercial. My kids had a blast climbing, exploring, and pretending, and I loved watching them unplug and dive into simple, creative pl

First time coming here with my kids and they loved it! My son was obsessed with the treehouse slide. Enough space for the little ones to run around. There was a small area with barn animals. Good amount of shade and sitting areas.

My kids had a blast at the spring egg-stravaganza event. They picked Easter eggs, played on the slides, built blocks, and played with bubbles. They were able to pick either 2 small prizes or a large prize in exchange for the egg hunting. My kids selected finger lights and small legos. There could have been better prizes for the cost of admission.

Went for my daughters birthday party, she turned 4. It just didn't have anything really fun for her to do. A few things here and there were fun but we paid $9 to be in there like 30 minutes. We moved through the place like it was about to close. The animals would have to be the best attraction for my daughter because it was up close and personal and what kid doesn't like seeing animals. Of course she wanted to take one home. I just think Funderland may have been a better choice because it has rides for the kids, Fairytale Town doesn't.

Adorable location for children to play . It's been redone, remodeled and looks very inviting for kids.

Reasonably priced fun for young kids. I'd say age 3-7 years old is the perfect age for this place. We went with a 3, 4, and 6 year old and they loved it. We stayed for almost 4.5 hours! Most of the playing areas are outdoors, but there is an indoor reading rainbow house that has books, coloring, and dry erase boards. Surprisingly, our group spent more than an hour just in that reading house. Multiple areas with water fountains, restrooms, and there's also a concession stand if you need to buy food or snacks.

Cute, but Too Hot to Fully Enjoy Fairy Town has a lot of charm, but the hot Sacramento sun really takes away from the experience. Most of the attractions are outdoors with playgrounds, but it was so hot that our kids barely wanted to play. At one point, the slides became so scorching that my boys were in pain coming down, and eventually, the staff had to close them. There were supposed to be shows, but none took place while we were there. We ended up retreating to the castle, which is reserved for birthday parties, just to get a break in the AC. After that, we found ourselves running to the reading room for more air conditioning relief. Fairy Town is super cute, but the extreme heat made it tough to fully enjoy.

Ask the Community - Fairytale Town

Would this be a good place to bring a 14 month old?

Hi Lydia! We often have guests under two visit our park. We have animals and plants that little ones find exciting and stimulating. Plus, guests under two pay no admission. We hope to see you!

Is this geared more for little kids or for teens?

Good for toddlers and young school aged kids

Looking for places to throw my son's first birthday party, it will be end of July or beginning of August. We know it will be hot so we are looking for a place that has A/C, does your King Arthur Castle have air conditioning?

    Yes, it does.

I would like to have my daughter's 5th birthday celebration at fairy tale town, is there a separate, covered area for us to have a party?

Yes - They have a "castle" - a small banquet room styled like King Arthurs round table. They do parties in there.

Can I bring in my own food?

Hi Tiesha, Yes, you can bring food and beverages into the park. Pre-prepared food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. Alcoholic beverages and barbecuing are not permitted in the park. Please let us know if we can help with anything else!

The overall size limited the trip and we worked through it faster than anticipated. It was quite busy but the overall vibe was fun. The second visit was way more enjoyable and we decided to visit due to the addition of a reptile exhibit that included hands on experiences with snakes, lizards, and more! The exhibit was not as packed when we arrived this time, so my kids got to play in the water room much longer and then do the Dino coloring for a bit before they setup the show. Many kids arrived at the show time, but there was plenty of room and the hosts were awesome. It's a well designed, compacted, intuitively creative, and incredible dinosaur immersion experience! Price is affordable - just stick to the basic package and you'll have a wonderful time. Is it big? No. Is it so large you want to rush through? No. Is it fun for a date? Depends on your preference. Will your young kids have a wonderful time? YES! Will you have a great time? If you love creativity, have imagination, and enjoy seeing the glow in your children's eyes with looks of discovery and awe.. then you will absolutely love this. Parking is limited but plenty of availability when we went late afternoon. Parking immediately across the street is cheaper, just pay the attendant at the actual site first. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ambiance of Dinos Alive is cloudy with smog machines, dark, mysterious, and immersed you into "dino zone." Plenty of large dinos for families to enjoy (and touch - wasn't sure if this was allowed but we did it anyways as I'm sure the creators intended it for young kids). Take it slow, don't rush. Done with your tour? Backtrack back to the beginning and do it all over again! First round you're typically taking pictures. So make the second round a fun experience for yourself and absorb everything the Dinos Alive staff put together. Afterwards, there's a fun station for coloring dinos and scanning them to show up walking on a projector! Pretty darn cool, if I says so myself. Fun little eggs to take photos in. Excavation zone to dust off dinosaur bones. Couple rides for young kids with a small and big dino to take some videos. Small shop to purchase stuff if your wallet feels generous. The entire experience, with backtracking and seeing the dinos twice while taking our sweet time and messing with the kids, took a little over 1 hour. If you rush through, it'll take a measly 10 minutes (so don't do that). Highly recommended if you have children who are into dinosaurs! An experience you might forget, but definitely an experience the kids will remember!

The host would use a siren when it was time to move to the next room and to guide us over.  I'm thoroughly impressed with the way Wacky Tacky handles birthday parties. They clearly know what they're doing. The host took care of everything which took the stress away from me. She set up the room, put my favors and cupcakes out. She served pizza, cupcakes, and used gloves to serve! She even sanitized all the kids' hands before eating. I love how they take cleanliness and good hygiene very seriously. Plates, forks, napkins, cups, utensils, tablecloth, hand sanitizer, were all provided.  Food orders do have to be made in advance, but I was able to add juice boxes and soda while I was there. Pizza came delivered close to the time it was time to move into the party room and was kept in the heated bag, so the pizza was actually still hot when it was time to be served.  Wacky Tacky was highly recommended to me for birthday parties, and I can see why. We paid $500 for an all-inclusive birthday package, but from start to finish, the staff made it clear that they couldn't have cared less. The entire event was chaotic, uncoordinated, and stressful. There was no assigned party host, only a disengaged food server in the party room who offered little to no communication. I constantly had to track down staff to ask what was happening next and where we should be. When I arrived to set up, I was told I'd have 10-15 minutes to prepare the room. Instead, I had to repeatedly check in to see when it would be ready and was finally given just a few minutes to set everything up. During the party, the staff member assigned to our room showed no initiative or enthusiasm. He didn't communicate the schedule, didn't announce when food or activities were starting, and clearly had no idea who the birthday child was. He simply stood in the corner, quietly handing out pizza with no effort to coordinate or engage with the group. After pizza and cupcakes, we still had about 35 minutes left in our scheduled time. I was then told that too many guests had been allowed into Wacky Tacky, so the kids couldn't play afterward as promised. The children were disappointed and confused. I asked to speak with a manager, but no one ever came. I've since called multiple times to follow up, and not once has a manager called and spoken to me. Several of my guests mentioned they had attended other parties here before and had much better experiences, which only made this event more frustrating. Save your money and go elsewhere, Enchanted or literally any other venue would be a better choice. This was a disorganized, poorly managed experience, and we will not be returning

We've been to extravagant light shows, like Luminaria Lights at the Botanical Gardens in Southern Cali, so that was our comparison and we honestly weren't expecting much with Imaginarium. Really happy that we decided to give this a shot! It was held at the Cal Expo so parking is extremely generous. However, we went on a Thursday evening in early December to avoid the crowds and I, for one, absolutely appreciated not having any lines or difficulty going in and out of the parking lot. Hardly anyone was there on a Thursday evening on the first week of December but I can imagine it would've been annoyingly packed if we went during rush season closer to Christmas or weekends. Pretty hilarious how we initially thought the front entrance exhibits and cute little photoshoot setups were it, until we walked past some food vendors to be shocked and awed at the enormous amount of creative setups they had in the main staging area. There was even a little circus act for some entertainment! Enjoy your time with family, walk around to your leisure, and they even had lots of neat room setups to experience. The kids enjoyed the art exhibit the most where they could color in beautifully drawn artistry with chalk! Santa was available for photos towards the exit.m at no charge. Nice! Tipped him, of course, to care for his elves and reindeer. Biggest tip is to be aware of where the restrooms are in case any urgencies arise. We found them to be to the right of the main area once we passed the food vendors thanks to friendly staff and security personnel. Highly recommended for everyone around the Sacramento and Roseville area, near and far! Great for families, dates, solos, and friends.
