Visited William Land Park for my first 5k race, Run for a Safe Haven, and it was a beautiful place to run on a Saturday morning! The park is located in a residential area with plenty of street parking available on the perimeters or in the nearby neighborhood. Besides the paved trail, there's also a golf course and pond with lots of ducks. It's quite scenic, and I loved all the greenery from the grass to the trees. There was also a decent amount of shade, which was much appreciated. As I continue to train, I can see myself coming back for more outdoor runs in a quiet place with beautiful views.

Beautiful park! Amazing. Only downside side, the restrooms could be upgrade and should have a door Lol. Take someone with you to block lol.

My favorite park in Sacramento. We can only thank the city fathers who envisioned this enormous park covering many acres (it once even had horse stables and riding) before our city was turned into a never ending construction zone filled with ticky tacky boxes and strip malls. Ahem. Rant over. A perfect place to walk, run, sit on a park bench, watch a baseball or soccer match and always- to be in nature. Very popular place to bring your dogs. The heritage trees which are a dream for tree huggers like myself, and ample grounds mean there is a chance to have peace and quiet, while still in proximity to others even in the heart of the city. The golf course, zoo, fairytale land, rock garden etc. are also on the grounds. Right now there is a big project to restore the massive duck ponds, but I'm sure they will be back better than ever with our beloved waterfowl.

Fall foliage, mid September. Dog friendly with leash

Can't wait to see this place closer to late fall. When we went in mid September, the trees were a yellow-green color. Took our Aussie for a walk here, great amount of shade. This park is dog friendly so long as the dog is on a leash, saw many dogs along our walk.

This park is amazing! There is so much to do and so much space to do it in! We are here for first tee golf lessons and the set up is amazing for the kids. There is an actual golf course too! There are ponds, plenty of seating area, walking trails etc etc. The park always has some type of activity going on but the layout never makes it feel packed. Free parking and clean bathrooms available too

Perfect place for a picnic. Several of my coworkers and I have met up in the park. It's best to bring your own chairs, if you don't there are old picnic benches around the park. Our favorite place is next to the golf course in one of the local gardens. There is a stone trellis you can sit on. There is plenty of parking around the park. If you don't want to parallel park there is a lot. The park offers many things: Golf Course, Sacramento Zoo, Fairy tale town, a amusement park for little kids, fishing pond, and pony rides.

In our quest to keep our dogs amused on our visit to Sacramento, we took a pleasant walk in this park. We went past the areas where Lacey & Zoey would not be welcomed (the zoo, FairyTale Land, etc) and enjoyed the sights in the small, but gorgeous rock garden!

What can I say about Land Park that hasn't already been raved about... It's big, it's beautiful in so many ways. And it has something for everyone. Lots and lots of green space to picnic, get in a good walk, people watch, play with the kids, feed the ducks and get chased by the geese. Land Park has tremendous history and it has it all... go... enjoy

This precious green Sacramento landmark holds so much meaning to Sac. Here you can find your way to the Sacramento Zoo, as well as mini children's fun parks such as Fairytale Town and Funderland. And right across the street from this happening holy grail of a park is the biggest, most beautiful and diverse, community college which is known as Sacramento City College! Ooooooh how long I go back with this park! This park has really become my new sanctuary, to release stress and zone out a bit while getting my walks in. With Covid-19 going on, all the gyms are closed. I went back to the gym earlier this year and was consistent. And then only to find out that my gym as well as every other gym would close during this unfortunate time. I was not about to let this virus mess up my current fitness progress. So, I took solace at this Sacramento landmark known as William Land Park aka Land Park! Every evening, I make way into Land Park and walking on the trails along with other walkers, joggers, runners etc! There is plenty of parking all throughout the park, so that isn't a problem. I also zone out and walk through the beautiful neighborhoods of the fabulous 40 homes which are circulated around the park. Just about everyone I see throughout my walks, are so friendly. Most people will say Hi or wave their hand at you. You can smell the fragrance of the flowers blooming and sometimes the fragrance can be strong! Which I don't mind at all but if you have allergies, it's something good to know. There is a huge duck pond which consist of duck, sometimes ducklings, geese etc. I do believe if you wanna have a party at one of the barbeque/picnic area then you can call some number and reserve that area! Also there is a golf course there too! Overall Land Park is a great place to visit if you wanna relax your mind. Whether you go walking, running, jogging, having a picnic or feeding the duckies. Every night when I go walking, I witness so many memorable moments with all the families visiting there. I see parents with their kids feeding ducks, or teaching them to fly a kite, young n mature couples cupcaking with their little picnic set up n blankets, you know how it goes, wink wink! ;0) Living in Sacramento for 20 years now and I really finally get to see the true beauty this park holds for us Sac folks!

Large picnic and bbq areas, but no parking! Prepare to walk long distances. It contains the zoo, Fairytale Town, and Funderland.

Ask the Community - William Land Park

Is there any lotus in the pond right now?

Do I need to call someone to host a b-day party here or can I just go and set up?

We did not call, we just arrived early and set up. That said on holidays I'd plan to arrive even earlier, as many families enjoy Land Park particularly on holidays.

What days of the week is the park open in June?

Open everyday.

Are dogs allowed?

Yea, Dogs on leash.

Bathrooms in the park?

Yes, there are some past the parking lot for the zoo across the road from the softball fields. They aren't the nicest or cleanest. But they are open and usable.

Is there any fall foliage here in Oct/Nov?

Some, enough that I've seen photo shoots near the pond. The tree lined drive down Land Park drive has some nice contrasting fall colors. Elmhurt (T St) is probably the best for fall foliage.

(I didn't take enough photos because we were having too much fun). Some of the holes had you spin a wheel & do what it landed on. Which was a great addition to where we even went back to spin it again for the course ahead. Overall, this whole experience was really fun & a cute idea for a date night or even to just go with friends & family. They do offer a birthday room, which we seen on the way out. It was indoors and underground and perfect for a rainy day group activity! We actually parked at DOCO for lunch and it was an easy walk to Old Sac. It just so happened to fall on May the 4th so there was Star Wars music the whole time and themed lights. Also some Cinco de Mayo decor along the course as well. We did the full 18 holes as three separate groups of 4, staggered, pencil scorecards. The theme is Gold Rush and the gal giving the intro spiel was really into it. You're starting from Missouri on your way to Sacramento, gathering supplies and surviving the journey with hopes of striking gold. Rules (no big swings, play thru) and putters/balls provided. Each part of the course had detailed murals and props to make it feel immersive. Examples include longhorn cows, snowy pine trees, wagon wheels, TNT dynamite, a saloon, a jail, even the river itself. Some holes had spinner wheels which gave bonuses or handicaps. Hole #1 had temporary obstacles (buckets) but that was the only one. Some holes straightforward but others challenging to complete in less than 3 strokes. Overall a fun activity. Good luck going for a hole in one! Par for each hole ranges from 1 to 5 depending on difficulty. Always neat to roam the historical Old Sac underground city sections. Since you are underground though, phone/data signal might be weak, keep in mind if you need to add more time to metered parking via an app or something. The rest of this week they have Cinco de Mayo, Revenge of the Sixth, and Mother's Day free photobooth session. They do have upgrades and different pricing for adults, seniors, kids. Snacks and drinks available for purchase too. Located next to Vampire Penguin, down the stairs.

One of my lifelong passions is golf-from the moment I picked up a club when I was 17 years old,I…read moreknew an obsession was being born.Along the way,I've had good highs and good lows, like the time I quit the sport for 10 years because I played a round so terrible at the Ridge in Auburn,I lost 18 balls in one round, but that being said I always come back.Im the kind of guy who will go to the driving range 10 times between actually playing a round, practice makes perfect or whatever they say,so I decided I would write a few reviews of some of my favorite driving ranges-I'm starting my series with one driving range that I probably frequent the most or 2nd most,it's one convenient to my home-I'm talking about Leader Golf on El Centro Road in Natomas. Right off the bat-you got to know this place is not fancy-this is the kind of place the serves that golfer who is just beginning-the kind of person who maybe has thought about golf and wants to give it a shot-this is where they head. This driving range is truly a no judgement zone,so many beginners,so many people there who this may be the 1st time they ever held a golf club-I love that about this place, you never know who your going to see here,it can be someone like me who has been playing golf for over 30 years or literally a kid or teenager or woman's group or older person who has never touched a club before-your going to see all types of people, every age, every skill level and it's great. This place has zero dress code-not that all golf course do but some places you can really standout if u show up in gym shorts and a tank top-but not here-anything goes and nobody will give u a 2nd look if u have no clue what your doing. The place has a few cool features that I enjoy-it has a putting area so you can go out there and work on your putting at zero cost.It has a very good short game area where one can work on their short game but it does cost $7 an hour to get access to that area. This place does have ample parking so that should never be a problem, there is a pro shop on premises as well-Inside your able to buy range tokens which you use to get range balls to use on the range.Prices range from $7 for a small bucket(40 balls) to $24 for a "Leader" bucket which is 200 balls. What I do is buy the Leader bucket for $24 and they give you 5 tokens for 40 balls each and then I spread out their usage over multiple visits since 40 balls is more than enough for a driving range session, which brings the cost down to under $5 a bucket-a very very good price for a small bucket. The pro shop also sells beers and sodas and snacks along with just about any other golf accessory you could possibly need from driving range tees to full on brand new golf sets-it's a decent shop-gets the job done. The gentleman who owns the range also works the shop-he is an amazingly kind man,he is a little rough around the edges when you first meet him but once you get to know him,he is the best-super helpful and chatty-he is truly an asset to this location. Overall what I will say about this place is this-if you have ever had the idea that maybe you have an interest in golf and want to go to a judgement free spot where you can try it out-this is your place. If you want a no frills spot to go and work on your game-this is your place. If you want a spot you and your friends can meet and chill and maybe throw back a beer or two while doing something somewhat active-this is your place. So do yourself a favor and head on out to Leader Golf and give this amazing game a chance-it just might start a lifelong obsession-see ya out there. It's a bit tough to get a reservation so you need to plan four months in advance as that's when reservations open up. If you do that, the likelihood of you getting a spot is pretty good, even on a weekend. The food is to die for with multiple courses that changes monthly. Just note that the food is usually paired with a rich sauce but they do check with you prior to your reservation date about any dietary restrictions. My favorite for the spring menu were the steak tartar and oysters served multiple ways. The chefs and staff are engaging and do their job well...my napkin was always folded when I returned if I left my seat. Service was excellent. I did notice that portions seem to be smaller than what they used to be but you won't leave hungry since you can order as much as you want. Also, there's a charge for every beverage, even coffee...they could have been more up front about this as I recall it used to be included. I can't wait to go back.

The pacing of the meal felt very unbalanced -- we waited far too long for the main courses, yet all of the desserts were served at once with little presentation or care. The dessert quality itself felt below Michelin standards, lacking creativity, refinement, and attention to detail. What concerned me the most, however, was the hygiene standard in the open kitchen. The chefs were freely talking with customers while actively preparing food, and none of the kitchen staff were wearing masks. In a fine dining environment that claims Michelin-level service and standards, this felt extremely unprofessional and unsanitary. I understand that every restaurant has its own style and atmosphere, but for the price point and expectations associated with Michelin recognition, I expected a much more polished and thoughtful experience.

Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!
