We came here as a party of 6 for a bachelorette party about a month ago. The theme of this course is so fun, and the underground vibe makes it extra fun and dramatic. The employee ( I wish I remembered his name!) was so awesome and helpful. He gave us a great spiel, in character, about the course and the "journey" that we were going on. He also gave us a free visit to the Photo Booth and pins that said "I'm celebrating". We had a great time!

My friend and I visited Underground Miniature Golf, and we had a great time! The guy at the front was incredibly nice and friendly--he even gave my friend a premium mini golf club for his birthday. The place was unique, interesting, and we had a lot of fun exploring all the creative holes!

I took my fiancée here for a surprise date and as a Sacramento adjacent native I'm surprised that she had never been. We both like to go mini golfing when we have the time so we figured we would true out this cool spot. Right in the middle of downtown Sacramento there's a little hidey hole basement mini golf. We were greeted and given a fun story about how we were traveling to Sacramento in the middle of the gold rush to get us immersed in the course. It seems like a small space but there are plenty of obstacles to make the course more than meets the eye. There are 18 holes, each themed with a different part of the journey to come enjoy the gold rush. The staff here is extremely nice, helpful, and answered any additional questions that we had. Definitely look forward to making another trip back! I would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to do anything in downtown Sac other than shop and eat!

A great date night spot! My boyfriend and I went before dinner in old Sacramento and had so much fun! There are fun spinners for challenge holes and super great on theme decorations for the area!! It was $21 a person which wasn't too bad and it took us about an hour to complete the 18 holes!

Imagine our surprise when we stumbled upon this "secret" venue while taking a stroll in Old Town. It was our date night and this seemed like an easy way to spruce up our evening. We headed down the entry stairs and were greeted by a very friendly gal at the ticket booth. She answered our questions, sold us the entry, and then told us a dynamic tale (seriously! And her narrating was superb!) before we "departed on our journey". The facility has a full 18 holes. I think what makes it interesting is you zigzag through what seems like old underground hallways, meaning you never know what you'll find around the bend. That part was fun. It was also fun to be able to spin the wheel at particular holes in order to add challenging twists to the game. My husband and I had a great time, especially since the game was quite close and the winner unpredictable. However, my only complaint is that I wish it were a tad more challenging. We expected to spend about an hour playing (per the employee at the front), but we were in and out in about 40 minutes. Not terrible, but also makes me feel as though it was a bit overpriced for an activity that we wished we could've enjoyed for a bit longer.

Perfect place for first timers. Approximately $29 for my boys. They enjoyed playing connect 4 while waiting for their turns to play miniature golf. We will likely return during the colder weather when outside activities are limited.

Fun little place to visit in Old Town. We were in town visiting our kiddo who goes to Sac State. We decided to hit up Old Town and do a little touristy shopping etc. But we wanted something fun to do. This fits the bill. The staff was very friendly and the intro story they give you is very cute. I haven't done mini-golf in years. Being inside, down below street level when it's almost 100° outside was nice! There are 18 holes and they go pretty quickly. Nothing too challenging, but definitely fun. It's kind of a hidden gem being on the far back street of Old Town, but there is signage. We definitely had our share of laughs. I'd say to definitely give it a try for some inexpensive family fun.

$17 per child...about 45 minutes to finish 18 holes on a weekday with no crowds...

located at the old sacramento waterfront...keeping the old charm alive in this well maintained historic district...between mini golf or railroad museum, the children wanted underground mini golf...opens at 10am and down the stairs...indoor mini golf with 18 holes...has a fun old western theme...plenty of picture opportunities at every hole...$17 per child for about 45 minutes of fun to finish 18 holes...everything is well maintained and in great condition...it's nice being indoors and cool during the summer heat, but the holes are really short which is the downside...no issues on a weekday with no crowds, but could be a problem if there were more people and the holes being so short...

My first time in an indoor & underground mini golf. Pretty cool concept. & a nice way to escape the Sacramento heat! (We were there in the summer months). The holes are pretty straightforward, nothing crazy or different except for the occasional spin-the-wheel & add a sort of handicap to your turn (e.g. attempt your first shot with your eyes closed). Also, it took us more than half the game to figure out that the PAR for each hole was listed on our scorecard the whole time?! Would be nice if it was posted at each hole like it normally is. & then the holes themselves I wish were a little more complicated like more with ramps or multi-tiered or something! My group & I still managed to make it fun tho.

Way too expensive. $60 for 2 adults and kid for pretty simplistic mini golf. Total rip off. And a can of beer for $10. We won't go back.

What is the average time to complete the course?

My son and I did the course right as they opened before anyone else had showed, and we got through it in about 20-30 minutes at a fun pace without rushing (and no one passed us during that time). I can imagine a group would naturally take longer, as… Read more

The courses were challenging, but not too hard, and not too easy. Everything was kept up and clean. Looking around the course while we were playing I didn't notice any thing dilapidated or broken. It took us a little while to get through the course because of the kids, but it was very enjoyable amd we all had a great time. With it being early February and pretty cold out, alot of the outside attractions were closed. We came right after breakfast on a Sunday, so those could have been factors also. We decided to go inside and play in the arcade. Unfortunately alot of the games were out of order. There were some that we scanned our playcard and took the funds, but didn't start the game. We went to the counter and let them know and they kindly reloaded our cards. It happened a few times and honestly I think they were starting to think we were trying to scam them into recharging our cards. Either that, or we weren't swiping the card correctly. Neither of those were the case and we offered to show them which game it was each time, and offered to demonstrate with our card how it took the money and didn't start. They said that wasn't necessary, and a staff member would walk over with us so they could figure out what was going on and put a sign if necessary. The little photo booths are fun, but again, there are two and only one was working. All in all the facility was very clean and kept up. I noticed there were staff members constantly walking around picking up trash, and forgotten items from other guests. There were even a couple wiping down games and sanitizing them. I appreciate that cause well, you know...kids are gross including my own sometimes lol! Since we had just come from breakfast we didn't eat here, but the snack bar looked decent, expensive, but in a place like this that is to be expected. There were plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your snacks/food and if not being used they were clean. The restrooms were clean, there was a sewage like smell in the women's room, but it wasn't too overpowering. Not worth complaining about. All in all we had a good time here, spent quite a bit of money between the arcade and the mini golf, but the kids had fun so thats what matters most right?

One of my lifelong passions is golf-from the moment I picked up a club when I was 17 years old,I…read moreknew an obsession was being born.Along the way,I've had good highs and good lows, like the time I quit the sport for 10 years because I played a round so terrible at the Ridge in Auburn,I lost 18 balls in one round, but that being said I always come back.Im the kind of guy who will go to the driving range 10 times between actually playing a round, practice makes perfect or whatever they say,so I decided I would write a few reviews of some of my favorite driving ranges-I'm starting my series with one driving range that I probably frequent the most or 2nd most,it's one convenient to my home-I'm talking about Leader Golf on El Centro Road in Natomas. Right off the bat-you got to know this place is not fancy-this is the kind of place the serves that golfer who is just beginning-the kind of person who maybe has thought about golf and wants to give it a shot-this is where they head. This driving range is truly a no judgement zone,so many beginners,so many people there who this may be the 1st time they ever held a golf club-I love that about this place, you never know who your going to see here,it can be someone like me who has been playing golf for over 30 years or literally a kid or teenager or woman's group or older person who has never touched a club before-your going to see all types of people, every age, every skill level and it's great. This place has zero dress code-not that all golf course do but some places you can really standout if u show up in gym shorts and a tank top-but not here-anything goes and nobody will give u a 2nd look if u have no clue what your doing. The place has a few cool features that I enjoy-it has a putting area so you can go out there and work on your putting at zero cost.It has a very good short game area where one can work on their short game but it does cost $7 an hour to get access to that area. This place does have ample parking so that should never be a problem, there is a pro shop on premises as well-Inside your able to buy range tokens which you use to get range balls to use on the range.Prices range from $7 for a small bucket(40 balls) to $24 for a "Leader" bucket which is 200 balls. What I do is buy the Leader bucket for $24 and they give you 5 tokens for 40 balls each and then I spread out their usage over multiple visits since 40 balls is more than enough for a driving range session, which brings the cost down to under $5 a bucket-a very very good price for a small bucket. The pro shop also sells beers and sodas and snacks along with just about any other golf accessory you could possibly need from driving range tees to full on brand new golf sets-it's a decent shop-gets the job done. The gentleman who owns the range also works the shop-he is an amazingly kind man,he is a little rough around the edges when you first meet him but once you get to know him,he is the best-super helpful and chatty-he is truly an asset to this location. Overall what I will say about this place is this-if you have ever had the idea that maybe you have an interest in golf and want to go to a judgement free spot where you can try it out-this is your place. If you want a no frills spot to go and work on your game-this is your place. If you want a spot you and your friends can meet and chill and maybe throw back a beer or two while doing something somewhat active-this is your place. So do yourself a favor and head on out to Leader Golf and give this amazing game a chance-it just might start a lifelong obsession-see ya out there. I think in every city, there are things they are known for or things that are just iconic about the…read morecity and are truly spots you must visit in order to fully get a true picture of the soul of that city. In Sacramento when one brings up the golfing scene, the true mecca of golf in Sacramento begins and ends with Haggin Oaks Golf complex and Driving Range. In this review I wanna talk specifically about the driving range. My history with this range goes back pretty far,all the way back to 1996 when I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area and didn't know a soul-so after work, especially on weekends with not much to do,I spent many a Friday and Saturday nights at the Haggin Oaks Driving Range working tirelessly on trying to perfect this game that is truly impossible to perfect. Over the years many things have changed at this range but a lot of very important things have remained the same, including a quality practice facility with well maintained mats and tees, along with quality balls to use when practicing at this location. Some of my favorite things today that they have that for sure didn't exist back in the 90s is the Top Tracer displays available at every practice stall which provides you with endless options for however you want to practice-be it golf games or serious data tracking to evaluate how far and straight you're hitting the golf ball. This facility is extremely popular,I would say it's the most popular range in Sacramento-if you come here on any random Friday or Saturday,no matter the hours,I guarantee this place will be packed, though there are so many practice stalls available,a spot will open up pretty quickly. Another thing I love about this spot is the ability to try out clubs in the pro shop before you buy them for free-you just go into the pro shop and find a club you want to try, then register with the pro shop guy and then just take the club out to the range for a quick practice session before deciding on purchasing the golf club. Haggin Oaks also has both a food truck on the premises and a bar stand where one can buy various alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy while working on your craft. Personally I've never bought any food from the truck but I do see people rave about the quality of their food offerings. This facility also has 3 separate putting greens one can use to practice their putting game-along with a separate area one can use to work on their chipping skills for free. I will admit this place isn't the cheapest place in the area to practice when it comes to the price of the balls, but I would say their prices are competitive with most golf courses and when you include the quality of this facility,I would say Haggin Oaks is unmatched. 25 balls cost around $6,while a large bucket of 100 balls run around $22. In closing-if the idea of trying out this game I love so much has ever crossed your mind and you want to come to a family friendly, skill friendly, wallet friendly environment-Haggin Oaks is your spot. Come on out and try this beautiful game of ours called golf.

I want to start by saying that Haggin Oaks Golf Course and its facilities are fantastic. The…read moregrounds, range, and overall experience of being at the course are excellent. I truly enjoy being there. However, the quality and professionalism of some of the golf instruction staff need serious attention. I've participated in multiple group classes and had experiences with at least three older male instructors. While I respect their years of experience and knowledge of the game, the teaching environment has often felt outdated and, at times, inappropriate. There have been repeated "good old boys" style jokes, dismissive comments, and remarks directed toward women that felt unnecessary and unprofessional. One instructor, Don Pottle, even told several of us that he would "cut off our hands" if we held the club the wrong way again. While I understand that this may have been intended as humor, comments like that create an uncomfortable and intimidating learning environment -- especially for newer golfers. Golf is evolving. The culture of the sport is becoming more inclusive, welcoming, and diverse. Instruction should reflect that shift. Many new players -- especially women and younger golfers -- are looking for knowledgeable coaches who can teach effectively without relying on outdated humor or intimidation tactics. Haggin Oaks has an opportunity to lead in this area. Expanding the instructional staff to include more women and younger instructors, or investing in professional development around inclusive coaching, would make a significant difference. The facilities are great. The teaching culture just needs to catch up with the times.

And it was easy, and they got back to us quickly. * Common sense-The $25 per hour is perfect timing. It all depends on how many people you have in your lanes. We had 6 people per 4 lanes. And we only got half way through the game too!!! But it's because the amount of people who are playing, we actually had a great time. Dark wood, cozy corners, and just the right amount of lively chatter create a welcoming atmosphere. The food was spot on. The Scotch Eggs were perfectly crispy on the outside with a beautifully runny yolk, and the Bangers and Mash was comfort food heaven. Juicy sausages and creamy mash smothered in rich gravy hit the mark. The staff were genuinely friendly and the service was quick and attentive without being overbearing. It felt like we were regulars from the first visit. If you are craving proper British pub fare in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place is a must. Highly recommended!

There was quite the array of fried foods but all were very good and crispy. The salad was also decent. The interior is a bit far and moody, but I think that sets the vibe. The staff seem fine and are available if needed. Parking may be a little rough given the location, but it's a fun place to check out and have a nicer meal in Old Sac!
