Our grandson participated in the Golf Lessons this past week where Coach Dominic Rojas was the instructor. What a great experience for our grandson Zachary! It was such a positive learning experience! Coach Dominic did not say anything negative the entire week. Kaden was a plus having him there to greet us when we arrived Tuesday-Friday and when we signed out our grandson. Kaden was friendly and he always had a great attitude showing us that he was a people person and enjoyed what he was doing. Kudos to Coach Dominic and Kaden! This place has something for everybody, including an arcade area for the kids a bar with buckets of beer for the adults and of course hitting golf balls and playing games in the golf bays. This is fun to come with a group of people and spend a few hours, enjoying life and building memories together. The food is it's good but certainly not gourmet, but you don't expect to come here for the high-end food. The best thing I found about this place is the personnel that are very friendly, helpful and attentive. Just walking down the corner someone stops me and starts to talk to me and it turns out he's a general manager of the place wondering if he could help direct me somewhere or help me in someway. I'm extremely disappointed in the management, the service and how they handled a 10 year old birthday celebration . When you make and reserve your time and how many bays you need you would think everything is handled. When it is a 10 year-old birthday party you would assume that they are going to be accompanied by their PARENTS not 1 parent there would not be any issues with that. Unfortunately, halfway through the party, we are told that it is a safety concern and that they need to move the party downstairs and by the way we are going to be BILLED MORE because of that. How unprofessional is that. We are told there are too many adults standing around and it is causing SAFETY concerns. I have had many Corporate parties there with no issues and I have planned many parties and it is ALWAYS the customers who are RIGHT and pay the bill. Unfortunate how everything was NOT HANDLED PROPERLY. To top if off the GM offered a $50 voucher for the next visit. Sorry that doesn't make it even. We came for a quick pre-booked hour and a half round of golf. We end up staying for two hours. We sat at the bar top on the third floor. It was a beautiful day for this! Sunday they have a good deal at $50 per hour so I recommend pre-booking online. We got there about 15 minutes before him but they were able to sit at our bay right away. We had a server but they switched halfway through so I think that is why we had some trouble. I ordered a cherry limeade cocktail, but unfortunately the drink was not good. It tasted like an old lime, which it did have an old lime on the rim... I couldn't find our server to see if I can change it so it just sat there. I feel like they need to have more staff to check on tables. We had a wave a server a couple times to place another order. There was a time where our time was ending and the food hadn't came out yet. Recently a friend of mine wanted to spend a Sunday morning at the driving range hitting some golf balls but I wanted to watch NFL football-so we came to an agreement-we would head to TopGolf in Roseville and get the best of both worlds. I opened my TopGolf app and was looking for reserving a booth,as the Roseville location can tend to get a bit busy.I noticed they were running a "Sunday Funday" special that was $50 an hour for a bay for I think up to 6 players-not too bad but being there were only 2 of us,it wasn't as cheap as I'd hoped.I did notice though they had a membership option called "Playmore" and it sounded pretty awesome-it was $20 a month with a 3 month minimum and with that membership you get 1 hour of free play plus a free appetizer with every visit.Seemed like a no-brainer,so I signed up for that instead since it seemed like a great deal. When we arrived about 15 minutes before our 11am reservation they got us straight to our bay and off we went-the next hour was so fun,not sure if u have been lately but TopGolf has no many fun game options you can play,there truly is a game option for someone at every skill level,I like that.Though I play golf pretty often with their unique games available my 21 year old daughter who never even golfs has a great chance at beating me,which is so fun for her-Well Done TopGolf. Both times I've used this membership so far I got the Fiesta Nachos,usually they run like $12.95 but they are part of the membership so they have been free each visit.I enjoyed them very much,they seemed to have upgraded their menu since when they 1st opened-for sure they got solid options now. Been wanting to try Top Golf for a long time now but didn't bother due to the price tag. Finally decided to give it a shot thanks to their half off Mon-Thurs with the family, including our 3 and 4-year olds. I ignored the poor reviews and said screw it, let's just try it for ourselves. Verdict? We had an absolute blast!!! I'm so used to typical golf courses with a driving range (I don't do the whole course thing... not yet, still a beginner). This was a fantastic change of scenery and we didn't have to worry about our little ones being loud and having fun (which is frowned upon at traditional golf ranges). BEST TIP: Mon-Thurs half off days - there are 3 tier prices. Simply, the earlier you can go the cheaper it is. We went 2:30-4:30 PM on a Thursday since 5 PM and beyond has a higher price tag. Price isn't per person, but rather per hour for the station reserved. Top Golf at Roseville had excellent service, quick and easy check in process (we filled out the very brief info needed for each person in our party prior to arrival), great food for the occasion, excellent drinks, and ambience is practically for ANY occasion. I don't think reservations are needed, but I'd highly recommend it to avoid any hiccups. Reservation was super easy on their app. Enter your info, reserve a date and time slot, and make a deposit. There's a $6 fee for first time members but it's a one time fee only. Yes, they require a deposit, and rightfully so seeing that this place gets busy with parties and reservation cancelations can hurt the business - pretty logical and common sense business practice to me. Are kids allowed? Yes. Our 3-4 year olds had tons of fun and they even have some golf clubs small enough for their sizes. They even have golf games to keep your group entertained along with technology that tracks your ball's course. As beginners, our favorite was the Training game which simply allows you to swing away (times infinity) then select whoever wants to go next. Do I have to bring my own Golf clubs? Nope! There's a table, chairs, set of gold clubs, and even slots for your own golf set if you actually do have your own. Parking is plentiful all around this Top Golf location. Easy parking, seamless process from start to finish, and practically stress free. Staff was wonderful and friendly. They made it fun for us first timers at a Top Golf spot. We're definitely going to come here way more often as long as the half off prices remain the same! Highly recommend for everyone. Top Golf is a great place for families, friends, dates, and beginner golfers like us! We hosted an Executive Team Building event at the Roseville Topgolf, and it was a hit! Our team really enjoyed themselves. We had 3 bays and a dedicated host, Nick. Nick was great! He was on top of everything, ensuring our drinks were brought out promptly and we had anything we needed. We had buffet style apps set up behind the bays. The mini corn dogs were a hit. We ordered buckets of drinks, and some mixed drinks. After our timed portion ended we stuck around at the bar for a while enjoying a few more drinks and having a good time. Each bay fits about 6 people comfortably. You have to pay a one-time $5 fee to register for each player. Thank goodness I went with people that has been there before because it would have taken me a little time to figure out how to set up or select the course you want. Booking a reservation online was super easy, and we loved that Tuesdays are half off such a great deal! We had a blast playing the different games for two hours. I would give this experience zero stars if I could. My family and I had an extremely disappointing experience at Topgolf Roseville, not because of the alcohol policy itself but because of the way we were treated by staff. After ordering drinks, one member of our family was asked to provide ID. They presented a valid driver's licence issued by another country and are over the age of 21. We were informed that "under California law, they could not be served alcohol without a passport". While we respect that businesses must follow their policies and applicable laws, this was incredibly confusing given that the exact same licence has been accepted at numerous other establishments throughout California (including nightclubs, casinos, bars and restaurants without any issues). If this is Topgolf's policy, it should be made much clearer to customers before ordering. I would also encourage Topgolf to review whether this policy is unnecessarily restrictive as it creates confusion and a poor customer experience. Unfortunately, the way staff handled the situation was far more disappointing than the policy itself. Throughout the remainder of our 90 minute booking, we were made to feel uncomfortable and singled out. A staff member named Annabelle (blonde pigtails) repeatedly pointed towards our table, stared at us, laughed and continued watching us throughout our visit. It genuinely felt as though we were being mocked. No paying customers should feel like this. To make matters worse, another staff member, Jett approached our table and issued what he described as a "final warning" regarding our family member and alcohol consumption. We had never received any prior official warning as this family member never had a drink in hand prior to this incidence, making a "final warning" entirely inappropriate. His approach was abrupt, dismissive and was delivered publicly in front of our entire group and surrounding guests, which was both embarrassing and unnecessary. Situations like these should be handled discreetly, respectfully and professionally, the basics of customer service in my opinion. Despite complying with everything requested of us AFTER the warning was given, the uncomfortable atmosphere continued. Annabelle appeared to gather other staff members, who repeatedly walked past us, looked over and watched our group. Whether intentional or not, this behaviour felt intimidating and highly unprofessional. This is a customer service environment, not a high school. The pointing, laughing, whispering and obvious attention directed towards our table reflected an immature workplace culture that should not exist in a business representing a national brand. Jett mentioned that he deals with situations like this "twice a day," yet based on our experience, his communication and conflict resolution skills did not reflect someone experienced in handling these interactions professionally. If this is a common occurrence, staff should be trained to deescalate situations respectfully rather than making customers feel embarrassed, judged or unwelcome. As a result of this experience, we chose not to leave a tip and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this venue to others. Customer service can completely change someone's perception of a business and in this case it left a lasting negative impression on the brand itself. I strongly recommend that Topgolf review both its alcohol identification policy and the conduct of the staff involved. If your policy differs from other venues in California, it should be clearly communicated and consistently explained to customers. More importantly, staff should receive additional training in professionalism, customer service and respectful communication. Policies may sometimes disappoint customers, but there is never an excuse for making them feel humiliated, singled out or unwelcome. read more
