I've been here a few times now with family. Their prime rib is really good, but I feel like the cut is too thin sometimes. I recently ate here and got the parmesan cheese bread with marinara and cowboy burger. The food was good and service was great. It was crowded though since everyone was coming out of a show. My food came out pretty quick and my server brought out my drink refill and ranch quickly. I enjoyed my burger and the cheese bread was great. The fries are seasoned perfectly well also. The cafe itself can seat a lot of people and there are booths and tables that you can sit at. They also have bakery and dessert items in the front as well. While the service at Thunder Valley Cafe was attentive, the food quality was a major disappointment. We ordered three dishes, and out of the three, two missed the mark entirely. The Turkey Dinner was almost inedible--the turkey was tough, dry, and difficult to chew. Similarly, the chicken in the Chicken Pasta was so heavily over-seasoned it completely overwhelmed the dish. For the price point, the poor execution on these simple classics is unacceptable. Until the kitchen fixes its consistency, I can't recommend eating here. read more

I have to say I really liked the clam chowder. Very tasty with lots of clam pieces. But the fish and chips were not so good. The menu said the fish is haddock but it was very dry. I was surprisingly delighted with our meal here at the Thunder Cafe. Me and my wife had an hour before our concert at The Venue so we had a quick dinner here at Thunder Cafe. The restaurant feels very similar to any Vegas cafe/dinner. There was no wait and we were led to our booth immediately. The menu is typical American diner; I had their Prime Rib dinner and my wife had their Taco Salad. We also had an order of Calamari for appetizer. The calamari was okay. Nothing to rave about but pretty solid. Shortly, we had our main dishes. First of, my prime rib meal was very substantial. I was surprised how well proportioned my meat was with a proper amount of thickness. Flavor was also there; the prime rib has proper seasoning, so was the mash potatoes. The au jus compliments the beef well and the side vegies were not an afterthought. Overall, it was a very well made prime rib dinner. My wife's tacos salad was delicious as well. I had a quick taste and it was delicious was well, albeit may just a hair too salty. What really blew my mind was that with an appetizer, two main dishes, and a dessert. With tax and tip included was still south of a hundred dollars. I'm pretty sure it was hoovering around $80ish if I reckon. I'm like 'that's a pretty damn good deal!' I don't think I'd see that anywhere in the Bay Area. So concert go'ers or slot machine'ers I'd highly recommend Thunder Cafe for any of your food cravings. read more

While visiting Thunder Valley for an event last night, we decided to arrive early to grab dinner at the casino beforehand. We tried the steakhouse first, but found that no reservations were available - not surprising. So we decided on Thunder Cafe which had a small line, but it moved fast and we didn't have to wait for a table even though it was pretty busy. We were greeted immediately by our server Evonne who was very friendly and personable. We ordered coffee to start as we knew it was going to be a long night and also the Seafood Linguine and the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich. The Linguine came with garlic bread on the side and the Sandwich came with your choice of fruit or fries - my mom chose fruit. While the Linguine was clearly made with frozen shrimp and scallops, the vodka sauce had a good flavor and the noodles were cooked well - I ate my entire plate. My mom enjoyed her Portobello Sandwich even though she said it was a bit messy and ended up eating it with a fork and a knife. Thunder Cafe also offers a crazy array of desserts - they had multiple glass cases full of everything from breakfast pastries, to cheesecakes to even my personal favorite - Tiramisu. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and I would definitely check them out next time we visit Thunder Valley! read more

Thunder Cafe is located inside of the Thunder Valley Casino. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were there for breakfast. The place is lively but more important, the food is delicious. The customer service is great! Even though the cafe was crowded we were seated right away. We ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage and an omelet with spinach, mushrooms and ham. Both were very delicious! The burrito was so large, that half of it was taken home. We were so full that we didn't stop to buy anything from the dessert/pastry counter. The clam chowder and salmon were rated 3/5 The French dip was also a 3/5 I'd rate the gluten free pizza a 3.5/5. Mostly because the vegetables were added on top after the pizza was cooked. This place used to be good. I ordered a sandwich and half a soup. I asked what came on the sandwich and the server said lettuce, tomato and onion. She didn't mention mayo. I ordered a clam chowder for my soup. Much to my dismay the sandwich was slathered with mayo. I didn't ask to take it back since I know better. I wiped most of my mayo off and asked another server for mustard. Yesterday's server disappeared before giving us the bill. Can we have the buffet back since this service is terrible? I hadn't eaten here in years and I love that I can get a discount with my thunder Valley card there so we went for a quick birthday lunch. I had the French dip. It was delicious very generous portions which I was able to enjoy for another meal. While it's part of the casino, it is a comfortable, relaxing café, and I'll definitely be back for other meals. Delicious food, great service, but it's loud in there. We've dined there previously, and it's a good variety of options depending on your dietary needs. I tasted everything except the Liver. Hubby swears it was flavorful. I personally don't touch that stuff hahahaha (my Frisco Melt, the Club and the Beef Stroganoff.. were all yummy!) also fries go perfectly with their Ranch - not all ranch dressings are created equally, but there ranch ranks high in my book If you want to dine there before a show, make sure once you get there, you get on the wait list, and cross fingers you'll be able to dine leisurely before the show starts. They never disappoint me when it comes to their cheesecake. I can't help but to come just get a whole and snack on for a week! That a bad thing but it's so good. Last time i got a whole cheesecake just to send a couple of family members home with some instead of purchasing individual slices. I eat here quite often as I live 10 min away. The servers make me feel like family as several remember my name. Most of them are excellent but I would say that Evonne and Edward stand out. For a cafe, the food is excellent as the menu offers a wide range of choices and prices are very good for what you're getting. Portions are large in size. My favorite would be the Salmon dinner. The pickup process was so easy--we were greeted by friendly staff who had everything packed and even loaded the food for us. The meal itself was outstanding. It came with a fully cooked, juicy turkey, delicious stuffing, creamy mashed potatoes, yams, carrots, gravy, cranberry sauce, fresh rolls, and two pies. We ordered the dinner for 10 people, and there was more than enough food for everyone. Every single dish was absolutely amazing. The stuffing was beyond!!!
