Came here for dinner 5 years ago and was not impressed. Recently, some friends mentioned coming here for brunch so we checked it out one weekend. It was great. Took my mom and she loved it too. So much so, she's brought HER friends to check it out too, and of course, they loved it! I think what set our brunch experiences apart from the dinner experience was we come on weekends when a lot of the college students are off campus or go elsewhere for meals. As a result, it's nice and quiet (as opposed to 5 years ago when I wrote about how noisy it was). Pricing for brunch is great. AYCE brunch for $11-12! Fresh salad bar, fresh fruit and yogurt, hot breakfast items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cooked-to-order items like hamburgers/cheeseburgers/quesadillas, hot foods like chicken parmesan and noodles, soups/oatmeal/chili, desserts like muffins and soft serve with toppings, soft drinks and more! One of our favorite spots in the past was Fresh Choice, Sweet Tomatoes, Souplantation and Sizzler's salad bar. Those are all long gone so we've really wanted a place we could enjoy a salad bar. This place is it. Everything is so fresh and clean and neat. They even post their menu online! Just be advised they close for summer break (I think this year it's from April 29 to August). But it's definitely become one of our favorite weekend brunch spots. read more

I went for brunch. There was a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items. What I chose to eat tasted good and seemed fresh. My issue was with the two soups. One was called turkey chili in large print. The fine print list of ingredients had beef as the second ingredient. Glad I read the fine print because I don't eat beef. The other soup was chicken and wild rice. The fine print list of ingredients did not list mushrooms, which there were clearly a lot of in the soup. If you have allergies or personal dietary preferences, be careful here. read more

A friend and I went here for the first time and we had a great time! It was nice to see all sorts of people in there and I love buffets so it just made it that much better! Their food was good and the salad bar was fresh and looked like it belonged in a magazine! Glad my friends invited me to come here for brunch on a Saturday. Located around the corner from the arena. Pretty good ayce brunch for $11-12. Plenty of seats to enjoy brunch and chill. They have eggs, bacon, and tots. You can order burgers from the grill. The second time I came here, they were back ordered on chicken fingers and some of the other grill items were out later in the day. I enjoyed their waffle maker, coffee, and soft serve stations. We enjoyed their salad bar, which has plenty of fresh ingredients. They have an area to return your cups and plates when you're done. Unfortunately, they will be closed for summer break until Aug. Decided to check out their brunch with my family. The food was good for the price and the dining area was clean. It's self service and we were kindly greeted. The only complaint I have was being charged $9 for my 18 month old. I understand there is a set price for 12 and under but I would suggest making an exception for toddlers and babies (3 and under) which is common in most AYCE diners. It just seems rather odd to charge them when they are just sharing a small bit off an adult plate. read more

After hearing good things about this restaurant, we tried the Crossroads Café. It is located within William Jessup University. This establishment is available to students, faculty, staff and the "public" for lunch and dinner. This is an all you can eat food arrangement for a very surprisingly reasonable price. The restaurant offers three large and distinct food stations One of these is a brick oven, artisan style pizzas stop. A variety of toppings are made available. Another is the salad bar filled with fresh, local ingredients and an expansive deli / panini section. There is also a soup bar. The grill offers large, temptingly fresh menu items including ... basic burgers and fries. The décor is upbeat, and the student body help provide a lively, vibrant atmosphere. This review is long overdue! I was touring the campus with a group of young adults and decided to eat lunch here! It was absolutely fantastic! The selections for lunch and quality are top notch. I have to tell you in a world where more colleges are opting for what my college age children call "Sudexo Poison Food" this is COMPLETELY opposite. Not worth $16. Food quality is terrible and they did away with the weekly specials. Price for dinner used to be around $10 a few years back and even though it was mediocre at best, at least they had more variety for the money. I don't recommend eating here, 90% of the time they serve the same exact food, most notably the chicken and rice. There is so much potential for this place. read more

All right... I hesitate to write this review because it's a hidden gem and I don't like the idea of this place becoming too packed but you have to give proper credit where it's due. First and foremost, this cafe is on the Jessup University campus and it has a former Google chef as its executive chef. So you know the food preparation is quality. The ingredients are also all quality as it's run by Bon Appetit - it's locally sourced and organic whenever possible. Lunch is the best deal because it's reasonably priced and it's basically an all you can eat place. The gourmet salads always have 2 high quality choices, there is a grill where you can always get a burger, salmon burger, quesadillas and chicken tenders. You usually have a hot plate selection and a section called global. So today as an example, they had premium baja fish tacos and Japanese golden curry bowls. They also have a make your own salad bar, a gourmet pizza station, make your own sandwich station and dessert section with ice cream and cookies. Seriously, for the price of going out to lunch, you get a ton more and higher quality food. I hope it doesn't get too crowded in the future but this place is damn good!!! read more

Hmmm... I came back to update my review and noticed it's no longer here... let's just say that since I've discovered this place about 4.5 yrs ago, I have been back many many times. You just can't beat the price and get fresh cooked meals and/or very healthy options if you choose to...as compared to say... fast food places. I've recommended to friends and family. There's a "farm to fork" area which consists of a salad bar, a few choices of soup and deli area; oven baked food area where they serve pizzas, the grill area if you like burgers, chicken tenders, and fries; the "Gobal" area where they serve cultural foods, and my fav...the "fire and ice" area where you load up your bowl with vegetables, choice of meat and sauce then the cook will stir if up for you. Make sure to check the daily menu online, they have something different each day. Self serve drink stations and dessert area. Pick up after yourself and take your dishes to their designated dish cleaning area, dump your leftovers in the trash and put your dishes in the conveyer tray. Best of all, it's All You Can Eat. Its good but can be pretty pricey. I once asked why it was so expensive and they told me it was because you could eat all you want, which makes since but if your someone who counts calories like I am, and your a commuter you may not be able to justify paying close to $12 everyday. When I first started here the price was pretty reasonable at $8 but the very next semester, it shot yo to 11.80! A huge price hike! Why so expensive for a school that already charges $16,000 plus per semester?!? Especially considering that many students are going into the ministry field which historically offers low paying jobs! How many pastors will be paying off their student loans for the rest of their lives and the cost of eating adds significantly to that burden! I just feel bad for the residents who have no choice but to pay up! read more

The food at this college "cafeteria" is out of this world. This is so not what it was like when I went to college. There are a ton of choices of fresh food, most of which is from the local area. Each meal always has a fresh salad bar, soup bar, sandwich bar, artisan pizzas, and made-to-order grill menu. This is in addition to whatever amazing items are being made specific for that meal, like carne asada tacos, prime rib, and grilled stuff portabella mushrooms. One of my favorites is their mac and cheese which is incredible on its own with all of the different cheese types. But then they will add in items such as artichokes, olives, ham, bacon . . . at your request. You can't beat the price. You can't beat the fact that it's all you can eat. Just voted the BEST CAFE in ROCKLIN 2016! We go about 2-3 times a month. And I love that it is all you can eat for such a great price. I don't think there is a better value in the area, and kids are 1/2 off. So if you have a picky eater, this is the place for them to try everything! A full Salad bar, 2 Farm to Fork (Local farms) salads, Build your own deli sandwich, Three soups with rolls, a few carts with fresh farmers fruit, Pizza ovens with 2 different types of pizzas each day, diner favs off the grill and 2-3 chef's main courses (like pot roast, BBQ ribs, lasagna or taco bar) plus a fire and ice station that you can pick out your own toppings.
