    Putting green
    Tamara P.

Always a good experience here! It is covered so you don't have to worry about sun and rain depending on the spot you pick. They have a small putting green and a chipping area as well as the driving range. They have a small pro shop with a selection of shoes, apparel, gloves, snacks, drinks and golf clubs. The owner is a really great guy and strives to maintain a family friendly environment. We really appreciate that aspect. They have food trucks come in on the evenings so it is great to make an evening out of the visit. You can hire one of the golf coaches for lessons and he hosts a kids golf camp as well in the summer.

I love leader, I've been coming here for years and it's been awesome to see the owner invest back into his business. The stalls have been updated, they all are covered, and it has a more upscale feel than it did a couple years ago. They have a putting green and a chipping area so you can work on all aspects of your game. I only live 5 mins away so I'm here all the time lol

First time there, as it was only 8 minutes from the house. Nice place the gal that helped me was hella fine and the golf pro there helped me with glove selection. First time golfer with a rag tag set of clubs. Will definitely be back. Cheers!

Good spot for practice! Fellows at the shop are super nice. Grounds are clean and bucket of balls are affordable. Definitely will return

Driving range with moon setting over it

Super reasonably priced ($24 for 200 balls). Selection of beer, drinks and snacks. Bathrooms available. Occasionally a food truck that sells great food. The complaints about this place are greatly exaggerated. The owner is incredibly kind and smiles every time he sees me. Just don't be an idiot and start chipping on the putting green or be loud and belligerent next to people who are clearly trying to practice and you'll have a great time.

I'm new to golfing and this was so approachable! Everyone is super friendly and the cars out on the course is so unique. Grabbed a glove at the pro shop and met the course cat meowmeow . Will definitely be back!

This spot is great to hit some shots and practice that swing. It's located right off the freeway which gives it easy access to all surrounding areas. They sell beer here which makes it a fun outing with friends. There's a small area to practice putting too. I've been here a few times and each time I leave saying I need to go back soon. Now I bought golf clubs so I've got no choice! It's not the nicest spot but I highly recommend it. Any beginner can show up, rent some clubs, buy a bucket of balls and go swinging. It's way cheaper than top golf.

My friend and I came here for my first time golfing. While he was teaching me, a guy got upset that we were talking--even though others around us were too--and rudely told us to "shut the kcuf up" and move. Then a manager came over, and I explained the situation calmly. We didn't say anything disrespectful to the man, but the manager just said, "He's been coming here for 30 years, can you just move?" That felt unfair. We weren't the only ones who thought so--several groups left after that. Just because someone's a longtime customer doesn't mean they're always right. I'll be sharing this experience on all my socials because this isn't okay.

    Really nice and looks new

It's true the owner is a grump, and everything is pretty overpriced. The range is average quality.

It has a very good short game area where one can work on their short game but it does cost $7 an hour to get access to that area.

The location is super convenient since it's within walking distance of the movie theater. We decided to skip the games this visit. Nothing really caught our attention, but maybe next time we'll give them a try. Instead, we grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and started with some shots. I ordered the Mexican Candy shot, and my girl got a Green Tea shot. My Mexican Candy shot was really good, it had a great balance of alcohol and flavor. It had just the right amount of sweetness and sourness without being overpowering. For food, I ordered the Beef Barbacoa Quesadilla, which came with pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. My girl ordered the pork sliders along with a margarita, while I switched to a lemonade after my shot. The barbacoa quesadilla was excellent. The meat and cheese ratio was perfect, and everything tasted fresh. The pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream all complemented the quesadilla really well. I honestly had no complaints about my meal. The only hiccup during our visit was with my girl's pork sliders. The pork arrived cold, so we let the bartender know. At first, she thought the meat might have felt cold because of the coleslaw on the sliders, but after a brief conversation, she happily took them back and had a fresh order made. The replacement sliders came out with warm pork, and they were much better. Even the first batch tasted good, the only issue was that the meat wasn't warm enough. We appreciated that they made it right without any problems. One thing I thought was really interesting was their drink system. Every cocktail on the menu is served from a numbered tap. I've never seen that before, but I'm guessing it helps with portion control, reduces waste, and ensures every drink is made consistently. I thought it was a unique concept and a nice touch. One thing I also appreciated was the service. When it was time to pay for our meal, the bartender asked if I wanted a refill on my lemonade. I told her we were about to head to the movie theater, so I didn't need one. Then he offered to put my lemonade in a to-go cup so I could take it with me. I thought that was a really thoughtful gesture and a nice example of great customer service. Overall, we had a good experience. The food and drinks were both enjoyable, and the staff corrected the only issue we had with the sliders. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and next time we'll probably give the games a chance. If you're looking for a place to grab some good food and drinks before a movie, Tipsy Putt is definitely worth checking out.

It was indoors and underground and perfect for a rainy day group activity! We actually parked at DOCO for lunch and it was an easy walk to Old Sac. It just so happened to fall on May the 4th so there was Star Wars music the whole time and themed lights. Also some Cinco de Mayo decor along the course as well. We did the full 18 holes as three separate groups of 4, staggered, pencil scorecards. The theme is Gold Rush and the gal giving the intro spiel was really into it. You're starting from Missouri on your way to Sacramento, gathering supplies and surviving the journey with hopes of striking gold. Rules (no big swings, play thru) and putters/balls provided. Each part of the course had detailed murals and props to make it feel immersive. Examples include longhorn cows, snowy pine trees, wagon wheels, TNT dynamite, a saloon, a jail, even the river itself. Some holes had spinner wheels which gave bonuses or handicaps. Hole #1 had temporary obstacles (buckets) but that was the only one. Some holes straightforward but others challenging to complete in less than 3 strokes. Overall a fun activity. Good luck going for a hole in one! Par for each hole ranges from 1 to 5 depending on difficulty. Always neat to roam the historical Old Sac underground city sections. Since you are underground though, phone/data signal might be weak, keep in mind if you need to add more time to metered parking via an app or something. The rest of this week they have Cinco de Mayo, Revenge of the Sixth, and Mother's Day free photobooth session. They do have upgrades and different pricing for adults, seniors, kids. Snacks and drinks available for purchase too. Located next to Vampire Penguin, down the stairs.

If you want to help plate dishes, cook, or do anything in the kitchen, they give you that opportunity. As I stated, the food is incredible. They have a rotating seasonal menu, and when we went, we had the winter menu. From the very first courses in Act I like the Chestnut Gnocchi and Fort Bragg Black Cod, to the spectacular Lacquered Pekin Duck Breast in Act II, every single dish was perfection. One of the absolute best parts is that you can actually revisit any item on the menu, a perk we fully embraced by revisiting the oyster intermission for extra rounds of those incredible Salt Bay oysters and Shigoku shooters. If you have not had the opportunity to experience The Kitchen, I highly recommend it. My wife and I usually save it for special occasions because it is definitely a splurge. That said, the exceptional food, outstanding service, and unforgettable atmosphere make it well worth the cost. Based on the reviews here I was expecting piss poor conditions and the fact that I only paid $50 for the 2pm tee time led me to believe that was going to be the case. But boy was I wrong! I live in Southern CA and for $50 (cart included) at 2pm you'll be waiting at every tee box (even on weekdays) praying you find grass to hit from and the rental set of clubs would be a mix match of stuff they found in the lost & found. Here at Morgan Creek I received a beautiful set of Taylormade Qi 35 woods and Qi irons with a tour x spider putter as my rental clubs. I was not planning to play on this trip so I did not bring my own. The course was in good to great shape. Yes there were some bunkers that needed some love, and some water hazards that were drying up, but it appeared the tee boxes had recently been aerated so in a few weeks they'll be perfect, the greens were probably the best I've seen at this price point, could have been a little faster, but in general I loved the undulations and overall green complexes. I for SURE will be back! Even at $75 for a weekend rate, consider that a steal for the quality of the course! The only other course I've played in the area is the MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks (SAME PRICE) and this course was far and away my favorite of the two. I'm open to trying other courses in the area when I'm up for business, but I'm definitely coming back here for another round!
