I was really excited to finally take a ceramics class here, especially since it took a few weeks to book an open intro class as they're pretty popular! Heads up: parking can be tricky. If you park near the Enterprise lot, the staff there will ask you to move your car (learned that the hard way), so plan to park on the street if possible. Now onto the class--overall, I had a good experience. The staff is super friendly and happy to answer any questions. They give all the instructions at the beginning, then you work independently while they check in with you periodically. Everyone has a different learning style, so this teaching method may work really well for some, while others (like me!) might prefer a more hands-on, step-by-step approach. I've been taking classes for a couple months now and I would highly recommend. The instructor is super helpful both during the demonstration and when your working on your own. It does take practice to get the techniques down but it's super fun. The admin staff/store front lady, sorry don't know her name, is super friendly and if you're lucky you can see their cutie pie baby. 10/10 for the class, vibes, and playlist. Could see it being a cute date spot or even just to learn a new hobby. I would take the intro class and if you're interested in using the pottery wheel to do that first so you have time to mess around and get some techniques down. If you're interested in working with clay this place is a great start! Justin is a great teacher he's so knowledgeable and kind and. resources and tools they provide makes it so much easier for beginners. You can also book a solo work session and do your own thing if you're an experienced clay artist. It's a tad expensive for me but I still plan to continue going. They're always so booked, which is good for them, not so good for me, cause it's impossible to book frequent classes unless you plan it out weeks ahead of time. To sum it up great people amazing tools to work With. Definitely recommend! Ps. Like other reviews said don't go with the expectation of going back home with finished product. This place is super cute & fun! You get to make a sculpture and something on the wheel. I wish they taught as you went and not all at once at the start of class as it's hard to remember when you're on your own. I think overall this is a great place to go and make some amazing pieces if you have a basic understanding. If you are a beginner and don't know anything about ceramics it might be difficult. One thing to note is that to complete a piece it will take 2/3 classes and while you're there they encourage you to make more pieces thus, enrolling in more classes. The place is small but has a lot of space and supplies for the amount of people they enrolls. They do a good job of filling just the right amount of space. The hard part for me was the instructions are all given at once at the beginning and then you are off on your own to create your pieces. I am more hands on and needed assistance at the wheel. It was hard to get the instructor as he was with a different group working on sculptures. When he did some he tried to help me but I still was having difficulty. I think this type of teaching style just didn't work for me and I need a more interactive class and not information all the beginning and then being sent off on my own thing. If you know how to make things and are confident I would say this is a amazing place! But if you are a beginner and need more 1-1 help or someone to guide you, this might not be the place. read more

We did an into to ceramics class and it was lovely! The class was super well ventilated, there was a giant 4 foot diameter fan - I felt so COVID comfortable!!! The day we went was in the upper 90's but the giant fan was doing some miracle work and it was pleasant! All that fresh air really made me feel more comfortable with the strangers around me. Justin did our into class, very helpful and went through the basics. They had a large selection of supplies and using everything came included in the class price (so we didn't have to pay extra for clay/firing/glazes). Can't wait to go back and keep at it! read more

It took me a while to decide to provide some feedback. Our community needs more art space, and during the hard times of Covid, I really don't want to dunk on any small business. So please keep in mind I'm not trying to write a negative review other than providing some feedback and also share my experience with those who may be interested. My general conclusion is that this place is not conducive to anyone who's serious about getting into pottery. And that's based on the classes that are structured (lack of membership), the lack of more continuous/scaffold classes to help build skills, and the oversimplified content of the single class that's offered. There's only one single class that's offered a few times a week. In a 2hr class, it covers basic wheel throwing and hand building, which really should be two different courses, broken into a 4 week period. They are identical and so it doesn't help you build up and move forward, since you are getting the same lecture (quite literally) that's geared toward the first timers. By the time you get on the wheel, you are fighting for individual attention. And I hate to admit, the instructor is not great at providing adaptive support. I'd describe this studio as the equivalent of a paint and sip. It's great as an artistic outlet - we can all use space like that, but it's not a studio for you to get serious. read more

My husband and I decided to do a "date night" together and get dirty, wet,and throw things with passion (aka get elbows deep in clay). Now, I always imagined throwing on a potting wheel to be something akin to the sexy scene in Ghost. Uhhh, yeah. Reality check. Our first class definitely threw that fantasy out the window. I just had to make sure I didn't lose a finger or my dignity! I found Sincere Ceramics via FB. They had an event listed as "Fired Up Friday" which is essentially an intro class to those who have never worked with clay, or are still new and want a refresher course. It's essentially open studio time to play around and create things that only your mother could love. Just kidding. I say this because I recreated my kindergarten ash tray when we went (which was humbling and hilarious). In fact, I recommend you go through their FB page to reserve your spot in their numerous offerings during the week. They seem to do intro classes on Wed, Thurs and Fridays but check online to be sure. I know they also have open studio you can go to, but its definitely more for those who have experience, especially if you want to use the wheels. We were greeted warmly by one of the artists and members of the studio and paid our $12 each. We were then walked in, offered coffee/tea and then once everyone arrived we had a tutorial led by Justin on the types of clay and the different methods of creating with clay. It was really cool because I remember learning this 30 years ago as a kid, and it came back to me pretty quickly. We also had the opportunity to see and experience using the potting wheel. Its a different beast than the rolling, pinching and scoring you do with your hands when creating but it gave me a new appreciation of the gorgeous handmade bowls and mugs I admire often when shopping. Sincere Ceramics also has a studio with art and ceramics for sale by those who use the studio. Its really amazing to see such beauty come from something as simple as clay. A great place to pop by to grab a one of a kind piece for sure. If you want a fun date night, or something creative to do with a group I recommend Sincere Ceramics! In fact, they are kid friendly so it would be a good option if you want something to do with the kids. Its an active studio and offers studio time and materials for a reasonable price. I also recommend you come wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty and closed toed shoes. It can get cold in the studio, but you will get warm once you start working with the clay. They have all of the clay, and tools you need to create but definitely do some research before you go to help inspire you, and so you know what questions to ask of Justin the instructor. He was really helpful and a total pro when we were there and I only wished we had more time! read more

I signed up for a class and wasn't able to keep the date and when I tried calling them their vm was filled and I was not able to leave a message so that I could change the date. I then decided to email them, and never received an email response back from them. They took my money and never got back to me. I cannot recommend them. A wonderful place to create and play with clay. Signed up for their beginner class with my friend and we loved it. The instructor walked is through both throwing on the wheel and hand building fundamentals. Clay was included in the cost of the class and we had about 1.5 hours to create once the instructions were completed. Completing any pieces will take multiple classes because of the firing process, so keep that in mind when you sign up. Classes get filled quickly and are typically posted on Friday nights, so check their website for sign ups at the end of each week. This studio is adorable! I've had the pleasure of taking a beginners ceramics class here (which includes a throwing and sculpting lesson for the $12 you pay per class) and was warmly welcomed. The $12 class includes two hours of work with throwing or sculpting with the guidance of an instructor. A ~15 minute lesson is given about throwing and sculpting and after that you are on your own.This is the only gripe I have of this place and the reason why I give it 4 stars instead of the 5. There is only one instructor during these sessions and often times it is a crowded studio, so it is hard to catch his attention especially if you are new to something like this which requires constant guidance. I witnessed beginner throwers work on a piece for nearly an hour (their clay was also really dry) and in the end, they did not have even one piece finished. I feel like this could have been helped with more attention from the instructor. Of course this is not necessarily blaming the instructor, but it would be great to have an additional person helping (maybe an assistant?) in helping supervise. Overall, this studio is great if you are patient, not afraid to ask questions over and over again, and if you are confident in yourself enough after one lesson to not need reassurance from the instructor if you have proper technique. read more

Very fun place for an introductory ceramics class. Almost all of the classes have an optional intro tutorial to sculpting and throwing. The staff is very welcoming to people of all levels (I had never done any ceramics before) and are as hands off/on as you want them to be. Plus it's super affordable and there's free coffee!
