I called ahead to confirm the studio was open and to ask how busy they were. The employee who answered sounded irritated that I was even asking, but said to come in. When we arrived, the process was explained, and we were surprised at the cost -- most pieces were $20 or more. One member of our group selected a paint color but forgot to note the number. When she returned to the same bottle, the color was completely different. When we asked for help, the employee insisted we must have chosen the wrong bottle. We were confident we had the correct one, yet no effort was made to help us identify the right shade. Instead, we were told to wash it off and start over -- which wasn't realistic since five of us were painting and most were nearly finished. Any time we tried to ask questions or get guidance, the help we received was minimal at best. When it was time to pay, I mentioned that two pieces were still very wet. I was still told to bring them to the counter. Having prior ceramics experience, I refused to move them until they were dry, and only then did she place a small fan on them and leave them at the table. At checkout, the register prompted for a tip with no option to skip. For a business that provided almost no customer assistance, prompting for a mandatory tip felt inappropriate. Our total was nearly $200, and then a tip was expected on top of that. Overall, the service was unhelpful and not customer-focused. Based on this experience, I would not return. read more

We went here for my brother's birthday, and had a great time. The workers were very helpful and very nice. The item selections were very very wide ranging so even my brother found something he wanted to paint. The place was very kid and group friendly. It is a tad expensive because we got items ranging in the mid 30s dollars. There are cheaper options, but we went here for the experience. They have punch card for ever 5 punches you get your 6th painting fee off. I highly recommend the place, and cannot wait to see how our items turn out in 7-10 days. read more

What a scam! My son, who is an Austin pay for a dog who was close to $100. He pay with his own money. He gave it 3 coats of paint. Afterwards, they called me, saying that the ceramic was defective, and the paint would not stick to the dog. They said that the credit was gonna be in my account. When we went to use it today, they said no it was over 90 days, so it disappeared. They never told me the credit was only for 90 days. This is thank you a scam! We paid for it and now my son. Lost his money. It is not our fault this ceramic that they had was defected. I had also purchased a shell plate, that the ceramic was also defective. The same thing, they told me they were gonna give me credit on my account. Now when I went to use it today, they said sorry over 90 days. You lose your money so now I'm out of the money and I'm out of them the ceramics. This is a total scam. read more

The location is great. It's centralized in Natomas in a large shopping center with other activities, stores, and restaurants. There is plenty of parking so that should not be an issue. The parking lot itself is a bit tricky but that is more of a shopping center problem. This was an amazing experience! I had no idea things like this even existed. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. They have a large wall full of ceramics to choose from. They rotate their ceramics like every other week. They have many tools, paint brushes, and colors available. They play some banger indie music in the background. It's a mega vibe in there, very relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. You really have the artistic freedom to do anything. The final product is ready in about a week. Although the prices might be considered slightly expensive, it's totally worth the experience and final product. I will be returning to make some more cool things. I almost prefer selecting a premade ceramic rather than trying to spin my own. Bottom line/TLDR: amazing for a date night. read more

The service is always great (shoutout to Brooke last night, she was so kind), the studio is always clean, and there are many pottery options to pick from to paint. It's a great way to connect with friends, unwind, and make fun memories. It's an easy process from start to finish! They welcome you in, you then pick your piece(s), they go over their spiel, you start painting, and pay once you're finished. The turn around time for your completed piece is never longer than 1-2 weeks. We didn't get to finish our pieces last night but they told us we can return in 30 days with no studio fee, so really appreciate that! First time at a pottery painting and had a good time. First, you will select a pottery piece then find your own seat. Staff member will come to jot down your selected piece. You will then head over to the self service paint station to grab your own paints. They had a wide selections of pottery pieces to choose from. So many to decide on! Each piece was individually priced. I ended up choosing a cute jellyfish which was $21. From start to finish, my friends and I had a good time. We were there for a little over 2 hours. Pottery pieces range from $10-$100. There is a $12 studio fee. I would recommend to give yourself at least 2 hours here so that you do not feel rushed and able to enjoy your time here. My wife and I stopped by here last weekend to check the place out and possibly get some coffee mugs, as we're always on the hunt for more giant mugs. We were immediately greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who walked us through how everything works and who patiently answered all of our questions. I had so many questions, and they took the time to talk us through several ways we could create fun, beautiful pieces which I appreciated so much. We had a great time painting and we're so happy with our mugs! This place is a ton of fun and we'd both love to go back next time we get a chance. Well organized pottery shop in Natomas. This is right next to the movie theaters so plenty of space to park. We came in around 11am so it was not very busy. Once you get a table, you can browse the pottery items to be able to paint. They each range in price from $15 and up. There are mugs, plates, bowls, figurines, pots and so many other things to choose. The paint area is self serve. You get a tray that you can write your paint numbers on and then put the paint on it. There are various other tools to use as well. The lady running the store was very kind and helpful. She gave the girls tips and advice on how to make their items come out better. There are plenty of tables to sit at and they also do parties there. Once you are done painting, you give your name and phone number and in a week they'll text saying your items are ready for pick up. They have to do the firing me for the items are ready. Very cute. My daughters had their 12th birthday party at Color Me Mine just last weekend. It was very easy to reserve the time and date online and the store followed up after my reservation and called about a weeks before to get a head count and go over all the details. We discussed a price point for the kids to pick from and the host offered for us to come in prior to the event to pick out items for the kids to pick out prior to the party so that the day of it would go smoothly with kids already having a table of options. Loved this idea! The party itself was such a hit and out host Nicole was so lovely. Engaged well with the kids, so helpful and accommodating. The party was 2 hours and the kids had so much fun that it felt like we were only there for 30 minutes. Parents picking up their children text afterwards and said they all had so much fun and it was the best party. It was so cute to see the kids all engage with each other in a fun/ calm setting and paint. Now we wait for our products to be finisihed and I cant wait to hand them out. read more

Came into Color Me Mine on a whim after the rain ruined our holiday zoo day. Was happy to see walk in's are welcomed and was quickly greeted by friendly employees and was given all the information we needed to know about prices, timeline, and the process. We picked out our pieces from the large variety they have to choose from and then got started. They have a ton of supplies to be as creative as you want and will help or explain if you need it. Lots of colors, brushes, and then the more fun creative things like sponges, toothbrushes, shaving cream, alcohol, tape, and transfers for stenciling. The employees checked on us regularly and replaced brush water often so we could focus on the experience and our art. Definitely will be back again. read more

My granddaughter received a gift certificate for Color Me Mine as a birthday gift from her boyfriend's mother We decided to make it a fun girls get together. This place is awesome. They had so many pottery items to choose from. I chose Simon the Cat bank & my granddaughter chose a fairy on a half moon. The staff is super helpful & are there to answer all questions. It was so much fun!! After we painted our pottery, we turned them in. They do the firing and all. Our potter came out sooo cute & shiny. Our pottery was ready for pic like up about 1 week later. One of our friends picked up our masterpieces. When I got mine, my Simon was missing his bank stopper. I called Color Me Mine & asked if they could mail me the stopper. The sweet girl that answered apologized & said she would let the owner know. A few days later I got my stopper & a sweet message from Jen the owner. She even gave me a coupon for 1/2 off studio fee. Finally, a ceramic lounge in Natomas! I have been to only one other place like this, and it was Petroglyph in Roseville, so this review will be partly comparison. The place is so clean and bright, and the employees are extremely helpful. I came in with my mom and my son, both inexperienced ceramic painters. One of the guys working there that weekend graciously gave them tips on how to better apply paint and helped my mom with the stencils. They were attentive but didn't hover; our dirty water got changed out frequently without us having to ask. Our pieces were ready for pick up a week later, and they all looked so good. The only things I wish they had (compared to Petroglyph) are more ceramics to choose from; some add-ons to attach to the bigger pieces; and individual paint bottles so we don't have to keep standing up to refill our small palettes. My biggest gripe was for each color, there was only one small needle tip bottle, so I had to wait for whoever had the color I needed to finish using it and put it back. I can imagine the frustration if the place was packed with more painters waiting on one color bottle to become available. Overall, I am very glad that Natomas has Color Me Mine. We need more places like this where families and friends can gather without having to drive all the way to Roseville. And now I am going to try to convince my coworkers to have a team building activity here. read more

We were very surprised as I would consider Color Me Mine an alternative to staying in and watching TV. We moved to a different table to further away from the screen but by then we were already very frustrated. The staff were nice, not their fault I'm sure.
