I reserved the party area for my birthday. I had a party of 10, including myself. The total came out to $620. This included the $7 extra that two people went over the covered amount. When paying, it is on one tab only. It is $48 pp (not including tax). In the $48, you are covered for the supplier usage, a $33 item to paint, and the firing of your piece. Olivia was our host and she was wonderful. She was very helpful in teaching us the best ways to paint our pottery and how to fix any mess ups. I opted for the custom birthday plate that is an add on for $30. Unfortunately, it didn't come out the way I imagined. We were given a black pencil for the guests to write on my birthday plate. Upon picking up our pottery, you can't see the names written. You have to look REAL close to see names. All I see is my name and a bakers hat at a glance. I wouldn't have paid $30 more for my name and a hat on a plate. We should have been given a white pencil to write with. This was our first time here and so we were clueless and thought nothing of it.

We had a very nice time here on a Saturday morning. It was our first time & a pleasant staff member went over instructions, provided information about the materials & process, & gave design tips. We were set up comfortably. After you finish, they clean up for you. All the staff we interacted with were friendly, personable, & helpful during our session & at pick up. The studio is bright & modern. Most tables are inside, but there are a few outside. Mellow music plays in the background. Two sinks are accessible to wash up. A restroom is also available to use. You may have to scoot to pass tables/other people to get around, but it's roomy enough. There was a variety of items available to design, as well as seasonal choices. They had materials besides paints & brushes--ways to add text, stamps, sponges, lace, etc. Aprons were available to use. Several tables were reserved & we could hear when a waitlist started. They can get busy, but you can still take your time. You can bring in food & drinks to enjoy as you work on your item. They will take reservations for groups of 5 or more & you can plan parties there. It's a fun, creative, relaxing experience to be enjoyed by anyone. However, it can add up & get pricey with your studio fee & what you pick to paint. We really like how our finished pieces came out. We would come back again as a special activity.

I took my mom here for the first time and it was such a fun experience! We were greeted by friendly staff and she briefly explained the process of choosing a ceramic with different price tags on them. We then get to choose our paint, paint brushes and other tools for the ceramics we chose. The place has adequate seating and clean supplies, and there was no time limit either which was pretty nice. The studio price is $15 for adults and the ceramic price gets added on, and we pickup our ceramics within 4-5 days. If you're not able to pick it up by then the studio holds it for 30 days!

employees are super helpful and nice very they don't hover and kinda let you do your own thing everything is very straightforward and beginner friendly!

I've been here multiple times and each time has been such a fun and vibrant experience! Employees are always so kind and helpful, there are always plenty of options of ceramics to choose from, and there's so much inspiration all around!! Pricing is variable, depending on the piece you choose to paint and there's something for everyone, no matter your artistic skill!

My daughter and I were greeted when we arrived. This was our first time here. The staff informed us how everything worked. We didn't have reservations but could take a seat any area that was open. We got to pick which items we wanted to paint. We spent maybe an hour or so there. We picked out our own colors, brushes and other items we may need. Staff members explained the price point for items as well as the fees for adult and kids. My daughter enjoyed her time here. We plan to come back in the fall to paint some Halloween items. I thank the staff for their understanding and kindness. Once we were done I was told keep the receipt because I would have to pick up the ceramics after they were glazed and finished. Pick up was easy, show your receipt and they will bag up your items.

They were super accommodating and nice!

Really cool space. Amazing and friendly staff. The pieces are a bit over priced but I really loved the atmosphere and the people. It's a very chill spot and would be perfect for a girls night out or a date night. The studio fee is $15 and there weren't many inexpensive pieces. I think $22 was the cheapest for an actual piece that was like a letter or magnet. You can't bring your own pieces either. So you're looking at $80+ just for two people. It would be 5 stars for me if it was a bit cheaper or I could bring my own pieces.

Super cute place I cannot wait to come back. My boyfriend actually found this place which is crazy because he is not crafty but he thought it would make a cute anniversary date and it did. Both the people that worked there were very friendly. One of the ladies even sat at the table and helped someone who asked for it, that was lovely to see. Anyways, for $5 each my boyfriend and I got 4 pieces of tiny ceramics to paint. I'm a sucker for anything mini. Can't wait to see what our pieces will look like once fired up and glossed!! Until then, here's what we made.

It's time for an Update since my last review four years ago. We are obviously regulars with 170 check ins and More than half the pictures posted are mine. My best friend and I used to come almost every weekend but now twice a month with family obligations. As with anything, the prices have gone up. It is now $12 child and $14 adult for a studio fee and the annual pass no longer exists. However, you don't have to finish in one sitting. If you are local, it is best to start a few pieces that will last you a couple trips. We have gotten more experienced and have been doing more elaborate pieces that take longer. For a family with small children, this could be an expensive experience. But for a girl's day out or a date night, I think it's worth it. The staff is really nice. Jen the manager is awesome! Who is also very talented and you will see a lot of her works displayed. She invited us and other regular customers to be a part of their good day Sacramento segment! This place has been around since the 1990s so I'm okay with them raising the prices to keep a float. I always enjoy supporting the small business. Oh and get there right at opening to ensure a seat is available. They tend to get busier as the weather gets colder. We have walked away a few times because they were packed. Wait time is hard to gauge because some people take an hour and others can take several hours.

I LOVE petroglyph! it's my go-to hangout with my friends! It is a bit pricey depending on how many things you paint but overall if you just pick one thing it is pretty affordable! I come here all the time, it is super chill and they play good music!!

The staff is so awesome! Every single one I talked to was helpful, friendly, and seemed like they actually wanted to be there. It's a bit expensive but I feel like that is to be expected with this sort of thing. Worth the wait (list)!

I came in during a weekday afternoon and was able to decompress. Their pottery item selection is pretty versatile and the employees are very helpful if you need any assistance. I love that they have a "stay as long as you want" policy and I was told you can also bring your item home and come back another time to finish if needed too. Most of the pottery items range from about $22+. Considering it is a women owned + local small business, I am all for supporting it. Would love if they begin to offer a stamp card or possibly a monthly membership/program!

Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge is located inside the Pavilions on Fair Oaks Blvd next to Piatti. We walked inside and it was pretty busy, but they had plenty of space and lots of seating. We put our names in and they told us it would be about an hour before we would be able to sit and paint - so we walked around and checked out all of the ceramic options available. They had so many cute options from bowls, to mugs, to piggy banks, to jewelry boxes to platters - I could go on and on! All ranging in different sizes and pricing! For the 4 of us, we decided on a cute set of Valentine's Day gnomes, a fairy jewelry box, a donut jewelry box and a big cafe mug. All paints, paintbrushes, stencils, etc. are included in the painting fee which is $15 per adult and $13 per child. Between the 4 of us and all of our choices, it was just shy of $200 so you're looking at roughly $50 a person which is a lot, but you also don't have a time limit on how long you can stay and with our party of 4, I think we were close to almost 2 hours. Once you are done painting, they will take your ceramic and it will go in the kiln during the week. You will need to come back on whatever day they tell you for pick up - for us, it is this Wednesday after 4pm. Overall, we had a great time at Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge! This is perfect for a birthday party, Sunday Funday or even a date night. We will absolutely be returning soon! I highly recommend making a reservation though if you can!

We had my daughter's birthday party here and the staff was very informative and helpful throughout the whole process. Parties We reserved the back private room which can fit up to 15painters, and 20 guest total which means, parents can drop off or some can choose to stay. It was $150 to rent the back plus any other ceramic add ons that the kids want to paint. Ceramics range from $20 and up depending on the size. You can even limit what you want your guest to choose from (as far as price range) and the staff will bring it in the room and place it on the shelf for guest to pick. The back room rental allows you to bring any outside food and drinks (except alcohol). You are given a 2 hour block starting at either 1230-230 or 3:30-5:30. They do however allow you to set up prior to your booked time. The only tricky thing is finding parking to unload your party stuff so I would recommend bringing a folding wagon with you for set up/ clean up. Wish they had one designated reserved parking just for that. But if you get lucky, you can snag a 15min one right in front. Painting For those not familiar with the ceramic process, after your guest have completed painting, it will take about 7-10days after to receive your painted ceramic. They said it will be placed in a kilm at 1000 degrees! With that, you would have to come back to pick up your creation. I would definitely recommend this spot! Super friendly attentive staff, and such a fun and different activity that the kids or adults will enjoy!!
